Holy humidity coming at ya from NJ! It isn't hot yet, but so sticky. My legs are sticking to the computer chair. Blech.

I had a productive day again yesterday. I took Kay's advice about starting with a kit and then scrapping. I love the page that I did! Love might be a bit too strong but I like it a lot. I think since I was on the Challenge Cheery O Team here for so long, I was conditioned to do all of then challenges. Not being on that Team means that I can scrap just for scrapping sort of.
The broccoli rabe pasta was so good-- it is such a simple recipe but for some reason, it came out better than usual. Or maybe I was just hungrier? ;)

Caitlyn and I are going over to my friend's house to clean. She is moving very soon and needs to get her house ready to be on the market. Before I head out this morning, I have to find the recipe I used to marinate the veggies earlier this month. I am making that again tonight and want to get that started before I head out. I used Yummly, Pinterest, and AllRecipes for my online recipe boxes and I really need to consolidate them all into one. Some day...

Wishing you all have a happy and relaxing day!

Nancy- That must be the best idea for car inspection ever! High fives to your hubby for that suggestion.
The chicken and orzo sounds really good, but the date sauce... I am not crazy about dates, the chewy texture thing. What does the sauce taste like? Even if it rained, I bet you laughed your way through dinner. It was really weird up here. It was bright and sunny, then poured, the sun came back out, and then poured. On and off all day. Scott was out on a long hike with the camp kids and they almost reached the top of the mountain when it started to thunder and they had to go back down.
Oh yes, Christie should be the one taking the class on civility!

Kay- how awesome to sleep until 8, have you been up reading late again? That is a relief that the bomb threat was a hoax bit sheesh, it is crazy that it is even a thought.
Gary was able to eat the pasta since the broccoli rabe is cooked (you cook it for the last 5 minutes in with the pasta) - Whew! That is one of our favorite meals so I am happy that one can stay in the rotation.

Sharon- I know!! Isn't it ridiculous for him to be the face of civility? It cracks me up every time I think about it- I see him yelling at the family on the boardwalk with his ice cream cone in hand. Sums him up 100%
Good riddance to the lot owner!
Happy to hear that you are getting back into scrapping again, I hope that it helps a lot.

Jean- Bet that your husband was tickled pink to see your LO about the H&S. What a nice way to end the day, going out to dinner.
Thank you for the compliment on the LO- it is all on Kay and her advice. :)

Felis- I understand where you and Sharon are both coming from. we live surrounded by trees ( I really should take some pics of my yard) so long grass /weeds isn't an issue. We have two yards across the street from me that are vacant. One is forclosed, the other is where the house burned down 2 summers ago. Neither yard is well-maintained but they face the woods and a large field so they don't stand out. OTOH, just down the street, there are several houses with pretty lawns. One house is so overgrown, you can barely see it the house through the weeds. I think part of what makes me sad is that our best friends lived there and the house and yard were pristine, so it is odd to see such a difference. My ILs live in a development and *all*of the lawns have landscapers come in and mow/trim. I guess it depends where you live.
So that was my ramble of the morning. :sorry:
OMG-- the Amazon fires are heartbreaking. A botanist I follow on Twitter (yes, crazy Faery follows botanists!) said this morning that 20% of the oxygen in our lungs right now was produced in the Amazon. If the Amazon loses much more, how will Earth survive?
I forgot about Quilliam! Cait and I loved to watch him, even if he was sleeping most of the time.

Running late- again!
Hugs!

I don't blame Sharon, for sure, I just want to put myself in her shoes and understand why the hell you need to do that. So I hope to hear some arguments, because: To park your car at front of someone else's property so to make them feels surrounded and watched all the times. To mow someone else's lawn without their permission, so to fit better to the popular mass of beauty. To call Code Enforcement, (what the f*** is this?!) until they quit and just leave this neighbor, just because ''the guy is a pain'' for all the neighbors.
I know about people who tell to little Peggy 'piggy', and that she is too fat. But hey they are good kids and this girls just not fit to this high school, because this is nice neighborhood . Or they scratch the car of your new boyfriend, because he is arabian and this is nice neighborhood and they don't needs people like him. As I was told in my first post we shouldn't accept any frames or mass opinion to dictate our or others life!!! Because if we accept they to takes our freewill even about something so small as a grass look, slowly but sure we will become insensitive to all injustice.

Chris, too hot here too! Hope the cleaning is not too heavy! I know it's difficult to prepare property for market. You have to cover all family signs that make so much sense for you, but nothing for the future owner, this is painful .Good luck with your cooking journey!

My post was last 'yesterday' so the notes for the other girls are there.

good morning - it is so humid. I have to go to the grocery store today. I have been putting it off but I am out of Dr. Pepper LOL. And the Luther needs more treats. Yesterday had a nice dinner with my girlfriend. Came home watched baseball. Not much else going on.

Chris congrats on your dinner. Glad that Gary was able to eat it too! I bet you and Cait will have a great time cleaning together! Glad you are being so productive. And OMgosh the weather is humid. We had a really bad thunderstorm last night just before we went out to dinner. Luckily it lasted only about 30 mins. It did really damage in the city next to ours. The wind was really bad. But it cooled things off for a bit. But now sunny and really hot! Expecting more thunderstorms this afternoon. Hope that Scott and the campers made it down safely.

Kay glad that it was just a hoax but must have been scary for the staff. I found a birding trip I want to take next Dec. 2020 to your area. It is see all the birds at Bosque del Apache and the some surrounding areas. Both my knees should be good by then. The trip says there could be snow. I guess I did not think there was snow - shame on me. Supposedly the snow geese and sandhill cranes are in abundance and should be great for photo opps.

Jean the Mets are doing their Amazing thing this season. I was sure when the Indians went ahead they were winning. I will look for your page about H&S. How fun they added new songs.

Sharron nice of you to pop in. glad you are getting back into scrapping. I would not have thought that Missouri is that much cooler than where you are!

Felis I think you are too hard on yourself about your scrapping. Hope your weather is getting cooler. The weekend we should be in the 80s for highs.

Have a great day all!

Morning, gals. Really enjoying the early morning temps... was down to 65 so the house is open. We had a shower last evening so guess that helped bring the temps down.

Chris, so glad that Gary could have some of the pasta yesterday. Hope you and Cait have a good time together. Don't envy your friend getting her house ready to go on the market. Glad you are helping her get ready. Thanks for the comments on my helping you get your mojo going.

Sharon, glad to see you popping in here. My heart aches for you and the family. So hard when a family member passes on. <<< hugs >>>

Nancy, I hear you about going to the grocery store. I meant to stop there while I was out yesterday.. but didn't. You sound like my oldest sister who had to have her Dr. Pepper... as she didn't drink coffee. Hope you make it over there so you have your favorite drink.

Jean, can't wait to see your pages about H&S.

Hope you all have a good day.
