ugh- the countdown begins. Two weeks until the kids go back to school.
I am so dreading this. Not only do I love having my kids around (for the most part ) , I am seriously dreading the 5 am wake-up, HW checks, phone calls from the school (no-- This is going to be a*great* year for Scott-- no phone calls!).
I guess I was hoping that the summer would rejuvenate me, but I am not feeling "juicy" yet ;)

One thing for sure, is that I am going to have to get myself into a better routine, better organized. Not sure how to start but i need to do that.

I am off to work at my MIL's today. Cait is supposed to be coming with me so I need to wake her up.

I hope to be back soon for personals. If not, know that I love you all!

Got a few min's while I eat some yogurt for b-fast :)
Cait is bailing on me, she is tired and wants to bum around today. Her BFF is also home from a trip and they have only seen each other once or twice since the beginning of Aug.

Dawn- if I lived closer I would so bunny-sit for Davy.S/he sounds like blast to have a round- like the best parts of cats and dogs rolled into one.
Glad you liked the bat story- it was so funny since we had just been talking about bats here.
Hope that chatting with us helped you get out of your funk. I am sorry that your Dad's anniversary is coming up and that it coincided with DD. Not that it is any consolation, but as a teen, Gary OD'd and was in a coma when his mom's Nana passed. She was not able to be at the funeral. There is a part of her that is still angry at him for that. It makes the pain just that much more harder to deal with, since you have so many conflicting emotions roiling around.
Hope that your head feels better. Is there any negative effects of long-tern Topamax use?

Yes, good PSA... in this heat, make sure all your pets have lots of water and a cool place to stay- esp babies and geriatrics. Poor Harley is having such a hard time breathing in this heat, I actually put on the a/c for *her* yesterday. I almost never use the a/c, but it was on at 10 am for the (14 1/2 yo) puppy :p

And yes, shelters! All but one of our pets (over the last 15 years- 2 rats, 8 cats and 2 dogs) have all been rescues. best pets ever!

ITA with you on how uplifting and inspiration our Sally is!

Gravy? I missed something, who is Gravy?

Grandma Linda -- oh you-- you "complain" about the kids, but we all know it- you loooove every minute!!!:D:D:D

(Did you all know that when Grandma Linda wins the lottery, she is adopting us and is gonna bake cookies with us and let us lick the icing knife...!!)

Joslyn- good to see ya- I saw some pics of Chase on FB- he is getting so big!! And beautiful!!

Is it just me, or do the Ooo's make gorgeous babies/g-babies???

LindaP- wow- 31 sheep! I thought of you when we went through the ag exhibits at the county fair. Never knew a pig could bark... but sure as heck, one did! LOL
I was going to vote for you, but someone inthe comments section said that the team descriptions were off... I didn't want to vote against you. Do you know if it is fixed yet?

Kat-- hugs girl!!!

Clara-- what a sweet way to wake up. I still love to cuddle with Caitlyn when I can. Scott still hugs me on occasion too. Thank goodness- Italians are known for being touchy-feely people, and I know I need it!
How did Ethan like the field trip?

Hi Clare- hope that the new school works out great for you!

Sara- hugs and coffee to you!

Sandra- yes, see, that is what I am dreading too- all of the adjustments. How is will doing on his meds? Does he need to have them readjusted?
I know that Scott's Lyme is going to get ramped up once he starts school- less sleep, more stress and Lyme thrives on that.
Good luck, I hope all goes well!

Gotta run, loves

xoxoxo!

Good morning ladies!!

So this morning started just like yesterday. That is my husband's new plan to try and get Addie to wake up better. We'll see if it works or not. I definately don't mind waking up to my little girl.

So, this morning I was headed to work as usual and when I went to pull into the driveway of our office, there was a huge giant ditch in front of it. I'm talking a huge ditch, like 4 feet across and 2 feet deep. They are doing some kind of road work but nobody knew anything about it. It would be a little difficult for patients to come and see us with a giant ditch in front of the clinic. Apparently it wasn't going to take them very long to fill it with asphalt. I was amazed at how fast they scraped out that hole in the road. The machinery they use is unreal. Anyway, it through off my morning a little bit and added some excitement to my morning. LOL!!

So how are all of you?

Chris - I am with you. I am finally getting the summer routine down and now Ethan will be going to school again. He is excited to start school. Oh, and Gravy is Andrea's new kitty cat. Italians are really touch feely people. When we were in Italy they did a briefing for all the new people over there and part of it was about customs and stuff, so they had to warn all the guys especially that the Italian guys are totally different from Americans...they hold hands and kiss each other in greeting and generally are just touchy people. I personally loved it, but some of our friends didn't love it so much.

LindaW - Have fun with your two extras. Hanging out around the house should be fun today after being busy all week.

Sally - Stamp club sounds so fun. I just sold all of my paper stuff. All I have left is my paper cutter. I would love to learn how to do some of that stamping stuff...maybe not the stamping itself so much but all the goodies you make are awesome. I love it. Have fun tonight.

LindaP - I am so glad you won. I really did like your stuff, not just because you asked us to vote. Your stuff was rockin'!!

Thanks Clara! I really liked the stuff we put together too. Today is the deadline for the week's kits, so they will be posted sometime today if they aren't already. They will be free to download until tribal council is over tomorrow evening.
Snag them here
There will be four kits to download, as I post this, only two have been posted.

Hey everybody. So my Vince is safely in Afghanistan. I can't remember if I wrote yet to tell you he was even gone. :) Anybody seen my brain? But he called this morning to let me know he is "there," but I'm not really sure where that is. He wasn't allowed to tell me exactly. Anyway, it was GREAT to hear his voice.

Other than that, I'm plugging along. Haven't scrapped much, but maybe I'll do that this afternoon. Oh I guess it's almost evening. Holy toledo.

Chris-Yep, we got a new kitty, and she is of the Plus size variety, so we named her Gravy cuz she looks like she loves her vittles. She's actually lying behind me in my computer chair right now and I'm very uncomfortable because she takes up so much of it. LOL but we must not move sleeping cats, right? Guess what, we got her at a SHELTER! Shelter animals are the best.
And no, there will be no phone calls this year, except for glowing reports of praise!

Which reminds me, Atha starts PreK on Tuesday! How exciting! She's beside herself with excitement.

LindaW- I bet one of the reasons your guys are so good is because they have such a great Nana (and temporary Nana). Glad you are having fun hanging out. I babysat two extra kids last night too. It was fun having something to do, and my girls LOVE the company!

Sally- sounds like fun to have an in-person crafting club. I keep thinking that somebody should start one at my church. Somebody else, not me! LOL. I've got too much going on already. Bet you guys have a blast.

Clara-I think I missed why you were talking about touchy feely Italians, but yeah they are that. Even the stateside kind. My husband's family are Italian-American, and my upbringing is more of the German kind. So it's major culture shock when I visit those hot-headed and touchy feely Italians. Yikes, they are all up in your bid'ness 100% of the time. When something happens like what's been going on with us the last few weeks, they literally fall on the floor and cry. Meanwhile, my side of the family says things like, "Well, I'm sure you'll feel better soon." LOL Sooooo different.

LindaP- Congrats on the big win! Yee haw!

hey all... I'm kinda glad the work week is over, kinda not since I don't get paid for tomorrow... but I think it'll be a good break anyway... not much going on except for Will's appt tomorrow...

Chris - not sure if they need adjusted... I think his daily dose is fine, but we get trouble after he comes off of it (mostly at bedtime)... the morning stuff is him just re-adjusting... but I'm so stressed out with the behavior its affecting everyone... so we'll see what his pediatrician says tomorrow!

LindaW - luckily we don't have the school issues now that he's on meds... although him missing 5 words on his spelling test is a problem! LOL

hope everyone had a great day!

Hiya Chris! I soooo don't miss having kids in school! I feel for ya :).
That's awful about Gary and his mom still being upset with him. I understand a bit how she feels...I wasn't able to be there when I lost my mom and my grandfather and his wife had her cremated and I never got to say goodbye, and her memorial site is somewhere I've never seen. My grandfather died a few yrs back (and I didn't know for yrs) and I still don't know where her memorial is...I have a general idea but my emotions keep me from going.

sheesh, sorry for sharing my family dysfunction with ya! Good news is my daddy's mom and dad are wonderful grandparents and we're not even blood relation!

I hope your kids get off to a good start in this school yr!

Hiya, Clara! that's so cute about Addie waking up in your bed, what does she think about it?
