hey hey hey! How are all of you? Hope that you are having a really good day so far.

yesterday was beautiful and I was so happy to get outside for a bit. I realized something while I was cleaning. I think that one of the things that I like cleaning other people's houses is that it is really satisfying to see and improvement, w/o having to worry about where things go, or needing to be filed, and so on.No distractions, just dust, and see a nice shiny piece of wood, sweep and the floor looks great :)
Wish I could do that in my own house hahahhah!! but I think that is another thing I like about gardening/weeding too- is that you get the rewards of your work, whether it is clearing out weeds or watching the zucchini grow.

Gary and Scott are planning on building a new raised garden out front for next year. Scott is working on the design for the plants and Gary is getting the ideas for building the wood for it. I love that the two of them have a project together and of course I love the idea of getting more plants. Scott really is enjoying this kind of work, always has so maybe this is what he is called to do.

Food shopping is set for today and again- no ideas of what to cook darn it!

I am off to snuggle the rats for a bit while Caitlyn has them out of their cage. See ya soon!

Good morning, ladies. Another beautiful sunny day here. Beckham is coming in a few hours and I need to tidy up the dog things. I put away bones and stuffies when he comes except for a few well stitched ones that I know he can't rip apart. B/c he's an old dog, the owner asked that I put away bones so he won't chip a tooth on them. I'm looking forward to having him with us, I miss him. Each time he comes to us, he gets more comfortable with us and our home and its fun to have some snuggle time and play time with him. Him and Taz don't play together but they love to just be together, sharing the couch, lying on the office floor together and the best part is going out for walks together. Because Beckham isn't a very physically active dog I make sure he gets 3-4 walks a day to tire him out so Taz loves that too. The only hard thing of course is juggling this extra time with my work and computer time. But it's worth it. It's such a great way to make extra money. We have him for a week and then he goes home for a few wks and then we'll have him for 3 wks in Sept.

Chris - that makes sense about the cleaning and gardening, the gratification. How wonderful that you'll be getting a new garden next year. You would love to come to Colony Farm with me, I bet, and see all the communal gardens there. It's so enjoyable chatting with people about what they are growing, what the garden means for them and how they enjoy it.

Trudy - I saw the photo yesterday of the wine and the view of the water. How relaxing. Wish I had that view!

Gotta go get some stuff done before Beckham comes. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Morning ladies... A perfect day for a beach day!! It is going to be very warm here! I dip in the lake will be a welcome reward for the two of us!! Yesterday was more painting for my DH and for me, well I got to clean toilets and used my new steam mop on the tile floors downstairs, it works great on the tile and lifts up all the old ground in dirt and makes them look like new again. I don't really like it for my wood floors though, so I will stick to my Norwex mop for that. The steam mop leaves streaks and I hate that!!:mmph: Then in the afternoon I ran and got my eyebrows tinted and waxed, boy did they need it, I hardly could see my eyebrows anymore, they got so bleached out from the sun. I ran into an old friend there and we chatted for a bit, it was good to see her again, we went all through high school together and we had a whole group of couples who chummed together way back then. LOL He husband became the Mayor of Lake Cowichan and I still have a hard time wrapping my head around that as you would never have imagined him taking that on when we were young :becky: Anyway that was my day and so of course I never got much done in the way of scrapping. Probably won't today either as we are off to the Lake right after lunch.

Chris - I totally understand the reasoning behind why you like to clean other peoples houses, there is no worries about what to do with everything, just instant gratification of it being clean! The raised garden project sounds so lovely and how nice that Scott and his Dad get along so well and can work well together! Sounds like Scott has found his purpose in life and what better one could there be than to care for and watch living things grow!

Rae - You are such a busy lady!! How nice that you get to break up your day by going for walks with Taz and Beckham! Yes I have an amazing view, I do appreciate it every single day, after living on the prairie for 28 years and never having much to look at, I am still in awe of the beauty that is here. Funny how we never really appreciated it when we were growing up here on the Island it took being away from it all for us to realize how wonderful it is here! I will never leave again!! LOL.

Nancy and Jean - I hope you are both having a wonderful day!

Ok off to get ready for the beach, hope that your Thursday is great and that you all get to do something that you love!

Sunny, not too warm, mostly beautiful today!! In a bit we're going to see my sister as her DIL has to be away during the day. Sister is deemed cancer free, but dementia is setting in. Sometimes OK, others not. We hoped it was medication induced last year, but apparently not. She is 85, so not that old, but not that young either. Her DS and DIL now live with her.

Chris, your ideas on cleaning sound right to me, just wish someone else would do MY cleaning. and gardening.

Rae, the time with Beckham and Taz together sounds really nice. Too bad you have to work too. ;)

Trudy, your plans for the beach sound super. I know you were wishing for it partly because of the heat. Have a good time!
