I am typing very quietly b/c I have 6 teenagers asleep upstairs.. what, WTH?? Those kids can sleep through and earthquake, I can type as loud as I want!!

I can't believe it is Thursday already. Crazy-ness! I tried to get to the lake yesterday. I was just about to start getting ready when my friend texted me that the lake was closed- bacteria in the water. Bummer!!! This summer has been all wacked out for plans. Not one thing seems to have gone smoothly. We are trying to get the garage sale set for tomorrow and Saturday, but every time we check the weather, even that seems to change. This is the 4th re-scheduling of the sale and I need to make some $$ :D

Today looks to be a beautiful one-- too bad I am working. Who else wishes that work would stop getting in the way of life? :rofl: I know I do!!!

Instead, there is always the lovely idea of running away to somewhere alone... :D
 
Morning Chris & the rest of the O fam! I too wish work would stop getting in the way of life- but it does pay for my creative habits!! So MMG sent me flowers twice this week at work. He had to change his normal schedule and attend a work meeting yesterday that was to conclude today with a charter fishing trip--he is not a fisherman and has done these before for work and does not enjoy them-- sadly his stomach is off, so he called off going out on the boat and will be home earlier today- hope he recovers soon as I have a wonderful anniversary dinner planned!! Other than that- I need to clean, exercise, mow the lawn again, shop, and photograph my flowers!
 
Today we are going to play! DH took the day off and the boys have coupons from the summer reading program at the library so we are headed to a water park. It's connected to our zoo so I'm looking forward to seeing the baby tigers that just went on display yesterday! Trying to decide if I'm going to take my good camera and get a locker for it or just my iphone in a ziploc! Hoping my sinus headache clears!

Chris, I can't believe that you have 6 teenagers there...makes me tired just thinking about it! Cinda, sounds like a great day of fun...and oh the camera dilemma. I know that feeling.

Tomorrow we move. Brian is like the energizer bunny and won't quit until everything is done. My brother and SIL are also helping tomorrow and Angie is just like Brian. So I'm sure that tomorrow, everything will be done! At least on a temporary basis! Then the real work begins...all of the fixing up! :-)

But for now, I need to get ready for work. (Chris, it really does get in the way!)

Laurie, can i borrow your husband for a bit? just the "sending flowers" twice this week part of him, OK?? Happy Anniversary, too!

Chris, nix the "self-hysterectomize" thing. it won't end well. although, if you can find a licensed surgeon, i HIGHLY recommend a hysterectomy. it improved my life about 300%. i also recommend "the lovely idea of running away to somewhere alone...."

Cinda, glad you're getting a PlayDay!! i vote for the iPhone in a Ziploc! hope your headache disappears before the fun begins.

today for me? TRY to squeeze a page out of my brain. good luck to me with THAT. i am SO burnt out.

it's Thursday. weird sort of a day. it's not a beginning, not an end. not even the middle. hope you have a good one!

aaahhh!! I just had my Awesome Moment of the Day!!!! I heard a crash and figured it was the cats, but when I went out to check on them it was our Mama bear ans her babies. They knocked over my garbage can but when when I yelled to go away, they started to wander off. Then the 4 babies went climbing up the tree right next to my kitcehn window. So what's a girl to do? Grabbed both cameras and spent the lat 20 minutes trying to take shots of them (through the screen so we'll have to see how they came out). My goodness, they are really so adorable.
best moment-- after all of the cubs were up high in the tree, mama went off, guessing to look for food. The cubs pretty much hung out there, and then one must have noticed mama coming back. He scrambled down the tree and went right to her and snuggled. LOVE!!!!!!!

That just made my DAY!!!!!!!!
 
Aww, Chris- how wonderful- I love taking through the window photos- after I realized I never open them due to allergies- I took the screens off and stored them- now the dirty part of the window I am shooting through- adds texture I say!
 
Looks like I spent more time than I thought watching my bears. Look at all of the posts. :)

Laurie- saw those big beautiful flowers on FB! Wow!!! What a sweetie! Some tips that we have tried for nausea to varying degrees of help- chewable papaya enzyme tablets, ginger gum, acupressure points- inner wrist, "web" between thumb and forefinger and ear lobe, and ginger tea. I think that is kind of in order of best to least, actually.
Hope he feels better!

Ciinda- have fun! I'd say iphone in a ziplock. Camera phones really take great photos and 90% of the time its just to post or scrap with digitally. Hope that headache goes away soon!

Linda S- thank goodness for crazy-non-stop helpers. Congrats on the move too.

Phyllis- I am sure that you will scrap something phenomenal- you always do!

Nana- ITA with Phyllis! Get him out of the house! LOL

Phyllis- how did you do with the laundry? DO you have netflix? Gary and I have been having a blast with Dr Who.

Kristy- what a great send off for the girls- hope every days goes that easy!

Cinda- Good for you to have the instruments at your house.Part of the reason thatI end up with lots of kids oever here is that we have a space for them to play. Before Gary got sick, he was in a band and has a ton of guitars/recording equipment/drum kit/bass/etc. Most of Scott's friends also play so they come over and jam. Its a good thing, even with all of the noise :drum:

That is great news Trudy!!!! I know he would not want to let you go. Make him stick to it!!! (A raise would be really nice too LOL)

Clara-- woo hoo! So good to see you in here. I can't get over how fast the time went with your kiddos away (for me at least ;)) Bet you can't wait to see them again! Sorry to hear that there have been so many issues with the coffee stand,m but awesome to hear things are falling into place. Yay!!!

Guess that is about it, love to all of my O-Fam!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Chris, you know what i love about People Like Us?? a camera and some baby bears up a tree can change the mood of the entire day!! can't wait to see the pix!!

no, no Netflix. i tried it for a bit , then cancelled. i might try it again, since now i actually have a modem that allows me to get wireless outside of the room where the modem is!
 
Hey Ladies... not much time again today, I am really missing my routine, but the last couple of days with DD will be full !! Today she wants to shop for a new purse, yesterday we spent the day at the Hair Stylist, where she went through the process of turning into more of a blonde, looks really good on her!! Tomorrow we are going to the river for a lazy day of tubing down the Cowichan river with her favorite cousin Nicci from Aussie land. They are on their last couple of days here too. Sad to think of everyone leaving us!! :sad: I miss my grandkids!!! Can you please come back to Grandma's house :hurt: I will miss everyone when they are gone, but I am also missing my regular routine too. (Never Happy am I ??)

Off to look at Chris's Bear pics and then off shopping. Have a great day everyone!! :wave:
