Whoops!! I apologize for screwing up the date yesterday. Sorry for giving you all a heart attack for a second. You would think that I should have gotten the date correct seeing that I had an appt for the first time in forever.

What a day I had yesterday.
Started out anxious for having to leave the house, put on "real clothes" and a touch of makeup. Off to a Dr that was new in a place that was new. But that was ok, until the road that I needed to use was closed b/c of an accident. My town is terrible about putting up detour signs and I had only been on the detour road once before, many years ago. I have no idea where I am going, my Google maps doesn't "talk" to me no matter what settings I have. I am trying to keep an eye on the map while driving through these windy country roads. The new route detoured me out 7 miles! Appt was fine, the NP was very funny which is a plus. The road was still closed on my way home but this time I knew that if I kept following the lake on my right, I would eventually get towards home. I spent more time driving aimlessly around than I did at the Drs.

To make my day better, I found out what it would feel like if I got hit in the head with a 60lb bag of bricks. :brick:
I was sitting on Cait's floor, helping her navigate the health insurance website. Jaida was on the bed when she bolted off and bounced off of the back of my neck and shoulders. Ooooo-eee. I saw stars. Tipped right on over. Caitlyn kept checking me for a bruise but it was more like whiplash. I ended up having to take 2 Aleve and I am still sore. The dog is *solid.*

Today, I have absolutely nothing planned. Maybe some yardwork. That would be better than housework. I woke up (at 5.30!! Yay!!!) stressing over dinner. I was going to make broccoli rabe garlic pasta but I don't have any GF pasta for Gary. *ponders*

gratitudes:
-Gary fixed my ACDSee issue!!
-last night's dinner was delish!
-it shouldn't get too hot today so it is a good day to do yard work.
-We found out that we get vision coverage in our health insurance pan which is something brand new -maybe since January- and I wish I knew about it back then, but I am thrilled that we have it now!! :whoo: It covers one visit per year, plus $100 toward frames or contacts.So. Darn. Exciting!!!

Make your day a fabulous one --you deserve it!!

Nancy- Sorry for that jolt b/c of the date. How was the hair appt? Good for you to walk to get there, did you melt?
Oh my goodness, 5 OT!! You must have been in heaven! Any games to watch today?
Caitlyn is going to Leah's tomorrow for a girls craft day and I am sending laundry with her. She can bring them back wet, as long as they are clean :)
I got to see a red-tailed hawk last week! At least that is what I am assuming. Big bird with a red tail. Gary said it was and who am I to argue? heh. It was impressive to watch it soar.

Trudy- thx for changing the date!
How was your hike, was it the first time you went on that one? It would be very relaxing and refreshing to swim afterward. Hope you got to do all of that.
:jaw:
That card is fantastic!!! I wish that adult coloring books were more relaxing to me. The colors on the dragon are so pretty and I love the expression. Your DS will be happy to get it although I bet that is he going to say that there is no need to thank him.

The good part of the appt was that I got an Rx for my overdue mammo and she wants to me to go back one last time to the breast surgeon (she also said that my scar was "beautiful" LOL) and if I get an all clearfrom her, than she is comfortable with just me going for regular screening mammos from here on out. It will be a relief to close the cancer chapter of my life once and for all.

Morning everyone! It is a sunny but rather cool morning. We are supposed to have very hot temps again this weekend though. No rain in site for the next week. Yesterday's hike was nice, not that long but really pretty! I have done this one before, but the last time there was really low hanging clouds and so we could not see the view from the top. This time it was clear and sunny and the view was amazing! We had our lunch at the park at the bottom of the mountain, right on the Lake and we were able to social distance as most of us brought our own lawn chairs and there were picnic tables there also. Later 5 of us went for a swim and it was lovely to cool down in the water and get some swimming in. I was home before 1:30 and got all my gear put away and worked a bit on a painting project. Today I am going to try to finish my page for the Fantasy Challenge, but man I am having a heck of a time with it! It is taking me forever to get it done. Had a great Face time with Heather and the boys this morning and now I need to buckle down and get scrapping! Not much else happening today. We were very excited to see the Bruins won their game yesterday, it went into double OT but Hooray the scored and finally won the game! Sadly neither of us got to actually see the game, DH was at work and I was on my hike, but we both were keeping an eye on the score.

Chris - It looks like just you and me in here today so far. It's been quiet around here, but I guess that means everyone is going about their own business and keeping busy. I am glad that your appt went so well, even though you had to detour to get to it! Yes it will be wonderful for you to close that Cancer chapter of your life!! Thanks for the nice compliment on my card! I never thought that I would get back to working with all the paper and messy things again, but I am very much enjoying it! How nice that Caitlyn and Leah will have a craft day together, maybe they could have a joint Etsy shop and sell all that great stuff together? Glad that Gary got you ACDSee all fixed up for you! Hope you get to spend some time out in the fresh air today!

Ok I am really hungry this morning for some reason, usually I am not hungry until noonish, so I better go and get myself something to eat. Another cup of coffee would be great too! Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

I WAS ABLE TO BUY STAMPS!!!!! YAY!!! Tons of cards to send. I know it's the little things. Oh I made TACOS for dinner... pork and shrimp!

chris, what GF pasta do you like the most? I found this one and really like it, it's from Canada. You boil the water, cook for 2 mins, turn it off, put the lid on, and just wait 11 more mins and it's done!

Hellooooooooooooooo!!! Helloooooooooooooooo!! I'm here - well sort of - I've been in full on packing mode today! I'm SO tired! I got drawers emptied - that was a major undertaking - talk about finding things I've been looking for and lots of stuff I threw away! It's starting to look like a war zone around here.

I hope I can get out of bed in the morning. I really think I overdid it, but you know how you just get on a roll. My dog follows EVERY step I take from the minute I get up until the minute she goes to bed. My husband kept her downstairs with him all day so i could work upstairs. She was NOT happy - he had to go outside and get a piece of trellis and put at the bottom of the stairway. I felt kind of sorry for her but I got so much done!

I did take her for two long, hot walks though to show her some extra love.

We have some packers coming at the end of next week to help us - I'm mainly going to have them pack up the kitchen (huge job) and they're going to wrap and pack all of our big pictures and breakables. We're just trying to get ahead of it a little.

Hope everybody's doing okay.
