GooooOd morning! I hope everyone is ready to bend and stretch. Push your chair back and place feet flat on the floor. Back straight, raise your arms over your head and slowly bend to touch the floor (or however you can comfortably reach). Stay there for a moment or two and breathe slowly. Raise yourself back up slowly (no head rushes!) and tell yourself that you are amazing!

As I was prepping to leave the house yesterday and felt my anxiety levels rising, I started to wonder if the world is going to see an increase in cases of agoraphobia. I notice that I see people standing together or in crowds on TV or in commercials and it already feels wrong.
Although, unpacking groceries has become a scavenger hunt of sorts:madgrin: what did I get this time? There is no rhyme or reason that I can see. I was able to get tissues and half and half. But no gallons or half gallons of milk- I got 1 qt. No American cheese slices, but mozzarella. No tub butter but sticks. And no cans of dog food :noidea:
I will ask my friend when she goes shopping tomorrow to pick up a couple of things for me. So thankful that she is still able to go out.

Someone on Twitter joked about how we will have strange habits such as Clorox-ing groceries in the future-- referencing how people growing up during the Depression had certain quirks of saving *everything*. I remember my grandparents saving everything-- rubber bands were collected on doorknobs, aluminum foil was washed and folded. Plastic butter tubs were knock-off Tupperware LOL

Did anyone you know do stuff like that? What can you see in our future of things that we will do? Grab car keeps and hand sanitizer? Wrap face in a scarf before you walk into a store no matter what the weather?

Then at dinner, I started yelling about Nov. elections. I have to apologize to my kids since I was yelling at them as proxies for their cohort that won't vote for Joe Biden now that Bernie Sanders dropped out of the primary. They know that they have to vote for Biden in Nov, but they keep telling me all of these stories of people they know that won't, they will write Bernie in or stay home. I got pretty darn worked up and I think they are now scared of me. :boink:

I have nothing specific that I need to do today. I really want to sit down and at least try to scrap.
Cait and I are working on another puzzle and we did all of the easy parts and now we are left with a sky of whites and greys with squiggly trees branches.

Gratitudes:
-even though I yelled (a lot!!) at dinner I truly don't think that I scared the kids heh
-Imogen is letting us scoop her instead of running away from us. Evie is somewhat better but Imi is much more comfortable being handled
-everyone is healthy in my family *knocks wood*

Felis-- Whooooo hooo! If laundry day is exciting for you, you will be thrilled to hear what I am doing today! You are so good, doing all of the heavy-duty items, I did some of ours a month ago but should really finish them up. You can imagine with three dogs, things get fur on them a lot. I think Americans, generally speaking, have an attitude of "rugged individualism" that keeps them from wearing make. We as a culture tend to be "what is in it for me?" as opposed to "how can we help the rest of our society?" My state is requiring masks or face coverings to be worn when in public. The governor also is shitting down non-essential construction so it looks like the new grocery store might be delayed a bit more.
We HAVE to be living in a simulation, this can't be real life right??? :twitch:
I am so glad that the breathing and stretching helps

Trudy- Wonderful to get in a long walk! Very smart of you to stay off of the trails too, you have to be careful of the wildlife. That sweet that Mason FT's you! What a cutie.
Yikes about the family drama. I hope that by venting to you, that your sister won't be frustrated with your niece.
Oh no! I don't know whether to laugh or cry for you with the shopping and FT. Good luck getting a spot soon.

Rae- I hate that you are sleeping better b/c you are stressed out but better that you sleep than not. The photo you posted of Noel was gorgeous he is such a pretty boy! Good for you to be back on the running with Taz schedule! That should help with some of the stress too.

yeah-- cruise is 100% off, no plans to reschedule :(

Nancy- It was so sad when I drove to pick up the groceries seeing the park entrances chained off. I live by a county park and then I pass by Wawayanda on my way into Warwick, NY. Seeing them locked up really made me sad. So it is the same here, only walking the dogs on my street.
Isn't it crazy how having groceries that you need makes you feel better? That is great that your DS was able to get you milk. And I wish he could come and cook for me! Sounds delicious! I made the same suggestions to my parents, to ask the fire dept to help and yes, they don't like asking for help.
Love your gratitudes!

xoxo

Morning everyone... Another clear blue sky this morning, but it is still chilly and roofs are white with frost. Today is the dreaded shopping for groceries day :fear: LOL really its not that bad. I did not face time with anyone yesterday, so I actually accomplished getting a layout started and I am about 3/4 of the way done. So I hope to get that finished this morning and uploaded to the gallery. Yesterday I ventured out to the little store where the post office is and purchased a puzzle for FIL's 86th birthday tomorrow. We will run up to their place and deliver 2 cases of wine that we made for them and have a visit with them from a distance of course. SIL Linda said she would like to come too, so she will meet up with us there. We told them what we had planned and they are so happy to have some company even if we can't hug or even get close to each other. They are very lonely  I offered to pick up some groceries for them, but they said that they are good for food etc. Probably going to the grocery store every couple of days just to get out LOL. Hopefully not!! Talked over the fence with the neighbour who is a doctor and thanked him for being there for everyone!! He said that we have no cases of the virus at our Hospital or at any of the care homes, so Hooray for us!! I think that things have not really hit hard here yet and we have not seen the worst yet. Our province of British Columbia has 1,266 cases with 805 recovered and 48 deaths, most in care homes across the province. I am not so sure that we should be going to MIL's and FIL's I think that there will be many who will be thinking that it will be ok to gather for the Easter Long weekend and maybe let their guard down about keeping safe. We told them it would only be for a little while, maybe an hour and there will be no touching or even getting close. FIL gift will be sanitized and the wine cases will be put in the shop behind the house and left for a couple of days before they are to open them. It is like we are living in the twilight zone!!

Chris - I can totally relate to your anxiety about grocery shopping, it will be like that for me today also! One thing I need to get is tissue and the past couple of times there has not been a box to be found in the store, so hopefully I have better luck today. I hope your friend is able to get the items that you did not. Yes getting the groceries we need does make us feel better, isn't that crazy?? Yes grandparents were the same and kept everything LOL Gary's grandmother had stuff in her freezer that was 15 years old YUCK!!! Every year she made applesauce, but never finished off the batches that she made previous years who needs 50 jars of applesauce?? Would she throw them out??? Oh nooo!! LOL. Yes I bet we will all carry hand sanitizer in our cars from now on and probably the sanitizing of the groceries will not be a bad thing to continue doing in the future. I hope that you get to sit and do some scrapping today! That is too bad that you yelled at the kids, but I am sure that they are not mad at you! You have very strong feelings when it come to politics and I know that your kids are well aware of it!

Ok I better get my list finished for groceries and then get to the store early, it will be busy with the long weekend coming . Have a great day everyone!

Gratitudes:
I am able to get to the grocery store.
The sun is shining and it should be warm by this afternoon

good morning - back for an early walk as the weathermen said that we would be getting rain and then afternoon storms. It was spitting rain as we walked and now of course you can see blue sky but I still feel good I got the walk in. There were mostly just dog walkers out so easy to distance. My girlfriend and her DH were out for an evening walk yesterday and dropped by so we had a nice long talk staying feet away. We each miss our weekly dinner out. Spent the last minutes listening to the mayor of NYC. He sounds pretty positive that April and May will be complete stay in place except for necessities and exercise. If things improve then they might be able to do some relaxing of the rules but they do not want a resurgence. One thing I found interesting is that they feel the attendance to the home schooling especially in teenagers is not good. They feel that a lot do not have the computers and a lot don't want to attend. Hope is that they will get bored and decide to attend. Sad that kids don't want to learn but even sadder if they cant learn because of lack of computers.

Chris glad the rats are becoming more friendly. That is so sad to see the locks on the county parks. Not sure how in my town they can completely block them off as the sidewalks are on public streets and I would think no matter was we should be able to walk on those. Also there is a bridge and I would like to think that we can walk across the bridge to get to other side of town as it is a short cut. What ever to get rid of this virus. That is funny what you got in your bags. Amazing about milk supplies and it is not like the cows stop producing. Glad you got some! My parents saved everything and they passed that on to me. My mom also cooked the minimum so nothing was wasted. Not sure what new I will have learned.

Trudy is Mason still call? That is cute. I guess a sister wants to vent even if she knows it will do no good. She probably knows you are a good listener. Wow at least my walks here do not involve scary wildlife! Take care.

Rae that photo of Noel is beautiful. He is gorgeous. Have fun out with Taz.

Felis hope you got all that heavy laundry done!

Grateful for Luther
Grateful for not having to walk in the rain

Morning, gals. Fell asleep at 10 PM but woke up at 2 AM and couldn't go back to sleep. Read for an hour and was able to go back to sleep finally. Then slept in until 7:30 AM. Feeling tired so not planning on doing much today. Home Health nurse was in yesterday. She recommended that I wear a mask when anyone is here [including her] even if they are wearing a mask, too. Thank goodness my DDs are willing to do any shopping for groceries, meds, etc that I may need. I did go out on the back patio for awhile in the afternoon. It got up to 79*F and only had a light wind - so was very pleasant to be outside. I had the house opened up and let it air out thoroughly.

Chris, hope your anxiety calms down.. you are doing the right thing to breathe deeply and try to let go of it. Have to admit when I see more than a couple of people together on the news/TV... I want to say 'get away from each other'!!! I have gone back to treating any fresh veggies/fruit like I did when I lived in Cairo, Egypt for 3 years... washing them in Clorox water then rinsing them thoroughly before putting them away. Good luck on your friend being able to get the things you need.

Trudy, good luck on finding what you need at the grocery store. Glad you are having nice weather. Great that you got some scrapping done.

Felis... wow... you are really doing some deep cleaning to get all those items laundered. Hope that will make you feel better to have them done. Laundry will be on my 'to-do' list later on this week.

Engergy is fading fast so going to take a nap. Stay safe eveyone.

I guess I'm not really dealing with the isolation too well, definitely eating too much. But it's sunny and daffodils look so nice. Tuesday we did the shopping and it was hectic, long lines at grocery with distancing and not many cashiers open, most people wearing masks now though it is not mandatory here. With all the food stocked realized we could have hamburgers on our favorite multigrain bread for dinner and we did enjoy that. Watched the first part of the PBS special on genetics and it was pretty good.

Yesterday not much of interest but watched PBS again for a Nature program on rabbits and hares. Learned that jackrabbits are really hares. Oh, and it was pretty warm though that's no longer true.

Chris, love the breathing/stretching openings! Can't blame you for yelling about the election even though it wasn't to the people who are the problem. The kids do know you by now. Interesting story of what came in the groceries. Our store was low on milk and pretty much out of flour, crazy things like cans of chopped green chiles and bottles of soy sauce were very low. Seeing people in close proximity on TV is causing reactions. I know seeing airplanes close to tall buildings is still a little troubling, so this too will likely be long lasting. The closed parks is disturbing, and apparently all because folks weren't distancing in them and causing everyone to lose out.

Trudy, good luck on your shopping. It is good to know your local area is doing well on illness. Hope all goes well for FiL's birthday. He will love the attention and gifts.

Nancy, nice you got out with Luther and sure hoping you can still use the walks and bridge like you want.

Kay, good to see you post and know you're getting looked after well.
Thinking of you and wishing you get past this and back to normal soon.

Grateful
for sunshine
stocked up on food
so much available online
you guys!

Good morning dears,
scraping Joanne's challenge yesterday remains me once more, that my life is not so different after the quarantine, except that now I don't have job, but in the same time have plenty of free times . The temperatures finally are warm to my most favorite sweater weather and we are busy with lots of little stuff inside and outside the house. Yesterday we had the coffee on the bench, and the day before I took lots of flower photos which can eventually to scrap somewhere next week. I know that I often contradict myself in my decision, but this is because I'm in progress of refinement and it would be foolish to not change my view point, once after it have new arguments or circumstances which are been presented to me. Before Joanne's challenge I wanted to to scrap about the present situation. Didn't wanted even to mention it! But once after I start this project now I'm finding some kind of comfort in it! Yes it's a situation from which we all want to was possible to wake up as from nightmare! And I hope to end as soon as it's possible! But still in this self isolation have some precious moments and little lessons, that it's worth it to keep!

Chris, no cans of dog food, OMG that's disaster! I hope your friend is able to find! We tries new kind of cans food as we aren't able to shop from our usual stores, but it's because of the price difference at different towns, still have more than enought for everybody.I'm see also different tendency not for people with agoraphobia, but for these who became tired to follow the rules and feels desperate to go out.
Felis- We HAVE to be living in a simulation, this can't be real life right???
:cool: That's what I'm telling you, Neo! LOL
Oh yes,the breathing and stretching are nice routine now, thanks for taking time for this!

Trudy,2 days notes at one so:
First -Oh so sorry to hear about your sister position. Actually lots of peoples act like her now, which is terrible! I mean, I'm sure she will get good decision, I don't want to tell anything wrong about her! Just that her attitude seems common these days. At the news before few days shows family with 2 small children that are been kicked out, because both parents lose their jobs and skipped, one, only one payment. Now they are in shelter and the city government will take position about the case, as they don't have money for lawyers.
Today: Happy FIL's 86th birthday! It's nice that you can bring them special made wine!
People are still think that members of your family (in the broadest sense) and my aunt comes here very often, or my dad visit his brother almost daily. I'm kind of scared from this, especially because aunt work with lots of people in the capital, where are the most cases of the disease, but don't want to be rude. Especially because they are in bigger risk, I don't want to find that I'm missed the last chances to be with them.
I wrote this in the Resources for Kids Thread, but I'm not sure did you'll see it, so at Audible will have audio books for free listening. Have the first Harry Potter and also Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, loove this. As a kid I got 2 little books that I'm still having, but unfortunately never was able to collect the whole series. I have Miss tiggy winkle, butt not Peter. Have also Alice and Winnie the Pooh, I think your boys can like this! And Mr. Jeremy Fisher is about frog :) .

Nancy, hmm, here parks are shut too, except for people with dogs :), so dogs gives you access to everywhere. So happy to hear that your son is happy and not stressed! Sorry but this sound nonsense, US is one of most rich countries, it's just not possible kids to not have phones with internet connection and to stay away from the social media, most of the kids have TikTok's profiles. We have problems with not enough rooms, so kids and parents all are in conference speech during the day. But they say home schooling goes well. Even some parents monitoring the exams, which is funny.

Rae, wow, you are give to Noel way more space than I expected LOL. Taz is such a sweetie to do not mind! Actually my Hunter only waiting to let her out so to stick to the dog too LOL, or she watch over him from the window.

Kay, I often think of you! Hope the improving water and chance to stay on fresh air for a while to helps you!

Jean, it's so fun to seeing you every morning/ evening for you/ at the Joanne's challenge! I'm not surprised you're not dealing well in situation of isolation, as you are opened and communicative. We all hopes this wouldn't continue for long! Hmm my daffodils aren't ready yet, I love them!
