Ya know what stinks? When allergy season kicks in but the weather is still too crummy to be outside to make the suffering worthwhile.
*cries/sneezes/itches eyeballs*
Allergies are here and in full bloom been though the plants are not. It's soooo annoying.

How was your day yesterday? Mine was all chopped up. It seemed like there was never enough time to get something started but too much time to do nothing. Easier to do nothing, however. The funniest part of my day was when I went to let my dogs outside after their dinner. I saw my neighbor walking with whom I thought was his wife with Lucy the dog that comes and visits us occasionally. I shouted to see if they needed a leash and she said nope, she was putting Lucy into her car. So I asked if she knew where Lucy lived and she laughed, that Lucy was her dog. We chatted, and I told her that we love Lucy (humans, not dogs). Then she asked if I was Alice's DD. That took me a second to process because even though I *know* my mom's name I don't think of her that way LOL She was one of my mom's cardiac care nurses 3 years ago. I got to share the news that my mom was finally getting a pacemaker. (finally)

I have no big plans today although I should finish Christopher's album. As soon as that is done, I am going to scout out to see if there are any deals on photo books.

Wishing you all a fantastic day

@BrightEyes Good news about the stitches coming out! When I had ankle surgery it felt like forever to get mine all out. But I didn't need a walker, just crutches. Is Chari getting around a bit better? You sound exactly like my mom, she would hold on to me or my kids for every last second that she could :D
Hope that the winds died down and didn't damage anything outdoors.

@taxed4ever Did it warm up for you on your hike? Hopefully, once you got moving it didn't feel too chilly. I have to do Kay's challenge too. I know it is going to be harder for me as well. Not b/c of the template but the shape of the photos. I couldn't tell you the last time I scrapped an oval or round photo LOL
Glad that you didn't have too many branches come down in your yard. None of my flowers are doing well. I have one daffodil, one hyacinth, and one crocus that bloomed.

@bcgal00 It must warm your heart to see the dogs running and playing. Poor Taz, I can see him with that grumpy face he makes ( even if he isn't actually grumpy LOL). Are you excited to get your appliances today?? I am excited for you!!!
I have potatoes-- that might be something I could make for her. I wanted to ask Scott but he was having a bad-head day post-Leah and the last thing I wanted to do was bug him about food. :( I hope he is better today.

@Cherylndesigns I hope Lila is not plotting against you as she stares you down. LOL! I think she and Daisy could get the new pups to take the fall of any ruckus they make.

@tanteva 32 years!! That is amazing, the best thing you ever did, following him home. Happy Anniversary!! xo

@Lynn Grieveson I give you credit -- I would not handle the moving limbo at all. I hope that it all works out for you and involves as little moving as possible.

BIG hugs!!

Morning, all. I slept in a bit this morning until 7:30. Chari has to be up and at work on-line by 7:00 so I am usually up before that. She is slowly working at using the walker and putting a tiny bit of weight on her foot. She has crutches but found she would lose her balance when using them (when practicing before the surgery) . She does much better with the scooter and the walker. We discovered that the walking boot has the large insert that pulls out so she can sleep with just the insert on the foot/leg and it keeps the ankle straight and protected. It has an air cushion that blows up and stabilizes the leg.

I got my laundry done yesterday but didn't get the errands run. That is on the agenda for today. It is colder today so back to wearing a jacket when out. Hoping the wind will be calmer than the last several days. SoninLaw said he would spray the weeds in front yard but can't do it until the winds die down.

Chris, I am with you with the allergies being bad. I have to get more meds for them as I feel like I have a faucet turned on in my head most of the time! Hoping you get some warmer weather so you can get outside. I had to LOL over you not using a round or oval photos much... I really like that shape. Thanks for the nice comment on the template for my challenge. And yes, Trudy.... there were a lot of layers in the clusters but you don't have to do all of them - just what makes sense for your page.

Rae, so glad that you found some furniture locally so you are not waiting forever to get them delivered. I hear you about how hard it is to scrap on a small laptop screen. Just glad that you can pop in here on it and let us know how you are doing.

Cheryl, I had to LOL over the dog staring at you all day. Bet that was a bit different especially since your dog starting doing the same thing!

Well, gotta get dressed and out of here in time for my appointment. CYL

Good morning ladies. The appliances are coming today, as are the pole lamps for either side of the fireplace. Then over the next two days the living room furniture is coming except for one chair that is coming in a week or two. The bedroom furniture comes on Saturday, as well as the rugs for the 2nd floor. It's starting to all come together. The dogs are loving the grasslands. We go out into the area each morning (there is a trail opening at the end of street) and they get to run everywhere off-leash.

We are getting into a schedule with the dogs. When the loud barking and wrestling starts I take the dogs downstairs into the soundproof media room where they can play for 5-10 minutes until they wear the energy off and calm down.

Today I will unpack more of the kitchen/dining room. We've got a lot to unpack so will unpack for a portion of each day for awhile. Thank goodness I don't have to work anymore.

I am looking forward to cooking a proper meal tonight on the new stove. I am so sick of fast food. Jen and I will do a big Superstore grocery shop on the weekend. Tonight I'll go to the Safeway that is close to us for a few things.

@faerywings Give Scott a hug for me. Hope the bad memories don't pop up too often for him. I hope he moves forward and finds happiness. I will be looking at photo book pricing at some point too. I want to get some albums made but that'll be months away b/c I'll have other things to do first.

I am getting another coffee now and getting on with my day.

Good Morning everyone! It is a sunny and much warmer day today! Yesterday's hike was very nice, and the temps did warm up for us. We were surprised to find out that part of our hike was flooded out because of all the rain we had, but still found a way around so we could finish off the loop trail we were on. A second part of our hike was to a Heron Rookery (nesting site). It was very interesting and I hope to do a page on it today. Then a bunch of us went into Cowichan Bay and grabbed a Cappuccino and sat in the sunshine on the outdoor patio, it was so nice! I am off to the pool again this morning and then tomorrow my DH has the day off. We will meet up with the In-Laws and SIL Linda and her boyfriend for lunch to celebrate all of our birthdays. Not sure if DH's other sister will be joining us or not. I will do quick personals and then out the door to get my laps in.

@faerywings - Please give Scott a hug from me also! I am sorry that he is still having bad memories of you know who! Love your story about Lucy and her owner! It is a small world isn't it!! That is too bad that your flowers did not fair too well over the winter, hope you see more blossoms soon! Good luck with the shopping for photo book deals, hope you find a great price on one!

@BrightEyes - Are you sleeping through the night these days? You are so busy that I bet you hit the pillow and you sleep like a baby!

@bcgal00 - It warms my heart to know that everything is falling into place with your beautiful new home! So nice that the dogs are having so much fun in the grasslands! How nice that there is a trail right at the end of your street! Enjoy all of your new furniture and appliances! Yes, it will be great for you to have a decent meal again, fast food gets old quickly! So happy for you!!

@Cherylndesigns - Love your story about the staring dogs, too funny! Yes my hike was wind free and very beautiful!

@tanteva - Ohhh more goodness from the new Machine! Still anxiously waiting for a name for it LOL.

@Lynn Grieveson - Sorry that you are still in Limbo with the house! I will keep my fingers crossed that it sells soon! I thought that my DH and I would be fancy free empty nesters a long time ago, but my DH insists on still working full time. So now I am used to having the house to myself on most days and he will most likely drive me nuts when he decides to finally retire LOL.

Ok I best get to the pool before it gets too busy! Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

Good afternoon my lovelies.

Windy windy windy here - of course, it usually is, but it's tornadic today. While I was trying to keep the French door from slamming into the house, Daisy saw an opportunity to "break free" and ran down the hill, out of sight and then circled back. LOL Oh, I should back up - Ava came over with the pups - and I had all 4 of them outside. I think Daisy was "over it all" and away she went. I was wrestling with all 4 of them when she decided to "peace out".

I think she's ready for Lila to go home. LOL Lila is such a grump with the puppies. She growls at them if they even look at her. Little stinker. Ava was trying to get a picture of me and all the dogs, and she wasn't having it. I had a puppy in each arm. They're getting heavier already and I told her in a few weeks, she wouldn't be able to scoop both of them up at the same time. The little black Lab is bigger than Ellie, but MUCH calmer - she's the calmest Lab pup I've ever seen.

Lila is pooped out from the pups and isn't laying and staring at me - for once. Both of them are sleeping. She about made me bonkers yesterday! I was telling about it and she said "Oh, she does the same thing to Mom" - haha.

Ava took them fishing with her last night and she said they had a blast. She had to bath both of them because they smelled like fish and Ellie ate a dead field mouse. She called my ex-son-in-law, who's a vet and he said not to worry too much about it. He said better a dead field mouse than a dead one in a house. Dead mice in a house were most likely killed by ingesting some kind of repellent. (WHO KNEW?) Those are my animal high jinx for the day.

Kay @BrightEyes sounds like Chari is doing pretty well. Glad you got to sleep in this am. Trudy @taxed4ever glad you had a nice hike. Chris @faerywings misery loves company - my allergies are terrible right now. I had to get the cough medicine out last night.

Have a happy Thursday.
