 I wrote yesterday that it was Thursday when it was actually Wednesday. I went through most of the day thinking that. Today feels like Thursday, so at least I am not disappointed that it isn't Friday. *winks*
I think I am more shocked that there are only a few days left in April and that Gary's b-day is in one week. It always sneaks up on me and catches me by surprise.

My day was pretty dull with the highlight being the amount of chocolate Easter eggs I got at the Food Pantry. I snuggled with the dogs a lot too but that goes without sayin' :pupkiss:
I started a scrap page, struggled a bit, then stopped. Still no creativity, but maybe at some point, it will come back. At least Christopher's album is done and should be here next week.

Today looks like it will be nice weather. Gary and I have to go to our old bank and close those accounts. Fluids for Floyd. Tacos for dinner. If I am up to it, I would like to get outside a bit too but I was awake for hours last night thanks to the darn dogs so I am not sure if a should nap or garden.

Who am I kidding?

Have a wonderful day!!!

Trudy-that is fantastic that you had a great weather day for your hike. Did you find a new wreath at Michael's? I look at thing like that and think -- I could make that less expensively. Look at Pinterest a bit. And then I don't make it at all. Sound familiar?
Awesome idea to book your hair appt for your trip- bet that makes it seem that much more "real."
Hope that the Bruins won!
I wish I knew why my supermarket gets such crummy produce. We will get more local produce in the summer but now it is all brought in from wherever, which must mean that it is already "old."

Nancy!!! haha!!! That is funny about your 6 yr molars aging. Wish that you didn't need to get a crown but at least it shouldn't be an emergency situation. The fried rice sounds really good!
I saw this morning that the James Shaw, the Waffle House hero, has now raised $140K!!! For other people. Sometimes I have a smidgen of hope for humanity. Cynicism, be damned LOL

Rae- I have all of my fingers and toes crossed that B is able to get a bed in the UBC neuro unit.
I wish that I had some clout because I would get on the phone this instant. I also wished that I lived by you so I could take Taz to the park with me. I can't even imagine giving up coffee totally but the tea sounds like a much better and healthier option. keep it up!!! xoxoxo

Felis- I hope that your sister is having a lovely vacation. Good luck with cooking dinners. You can :blah: about that anytime to me, you know how I feel about having to cook every darn nigth.
Jiffy Mix is a corn muffin mix. I was shocked to see that there is gelatin in shredded wheat cereal too! That makes no sense to me. I have to read labels so carefully now.

hugs!!!

Morning ladies!! Yahoo our Bruins did it and won the game last night! :bliss: It was a nail biter there for a while but they always have a really good third period and last nights was awesome, beating the Maple Leafs 7-4!! Now they will have to play Tampa Bay. This was a very happy house last night LOL. Yesterday's hike was just lovely, such an awesome place to go for a 6 kilometre hike, more of a really good walk as there was not much change in elevation, but some nicely groomed trails and a beautiful lake to admire along the way. We stopped and had lunch overlooking the lake and then when the hike was over I ventured off to Michaels to see what I could find. The prices of the wreaths were astronomical, there was no way I was paying that kind of money for wreaths that weren't even all that pretty. So instead I bought some new flowers and other floral things to spruce up my old one. The spring floral was BOGO so that was great! I will try to get that job done today. It is another sunny morning and I already have the windows open as the house is quite warm. I will try to enjoy this as much as I can because we are going to be back to rain on the weekend. :mmph:

Chris - Its funny that you thought yesterday was Thursday! I have been like that all week because DH took Monday off so I thought Monday was Sunday etc. Good thing I get an email about our hikes or I might have missed it thinking that Wednesday was Tuesday :loco: Yes I do the same thing with Pinterest and think I can make that, but I never do LOL. Hope you enjoyed the chocolate yesterday! I hope you got some other good things too! I have kind of lost my mojo for scrapping too, but I am going to make a page today about one of the hikes that I have taken and hopefully that will spark some creativity for me. So many gorgeous pages in the gallery, it makes me green with envy that I struggle so much with my pages lately. I hope that you get some nap time in today, but we all know that will probably not happen :becky:

Nancy - Your dinner of the Pork Roast sounds so yummy! Pork Roast is one of my most fav meals! However like Rae I would have to substitute the rice for riced cauliflower LOL. Did you watch the game last night! Wasn't it amazing!! I don't know if we will be able to handle the stress of going through this again though LOL. Sorry that you will have to get a crown, but its not that bad I have two now and will probably have to have another soon! Thank goodness my DH has great dental coverage, so its pretty much fully covered. I was talking with DH last night about his knees and questioned his decision to wait for a replacement, I mean really none of us knows how much time we have left on this earth! Why go through it with pain like that?? There are too many places to see and things to do! :gaah: MEN!!

Rae - I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that you get B moved to UBC! Is she showing any signs of improvement with her short term memory? I think of you everyday and I am glad to know that you are taking good care of yourself! I am not sure how long the wait list is now for knee replacement, but a woman on our hike told me that there is a new clinic being set up in Victoria that will be specifically for knee and hip replacement, so the wait time should not be as bad when that gets going. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts so glad you popped in to say hi to all of us!

Felis - LOL I am sure that your cooking isn't quite that bad!! How nice that your sister is able to get away for a short vacation! Nice to hear that your weather is lovely also! I hope that you are not suffering too much with allergies, we have had so much pollen this spring, but it seems to be better this week.

:hello: Jean I hope that the sun is shining where you are today and that you are enjoying some birding!

Expecting a facetime from Heather soon and anxious to hear how the kids did with swimming lessons that started last night! Mason has been outside playing basketball every day and even convinced his Dad to go out in the rain to play LOL. So happy that he is getting over his shyness and playing with all the neighbourhood kids! So I will grab my 2nd cup of coffee and get started on my hiking layout while I wait for the call. Have a wonderful day ladies! I hope that the sun is shining for all of you today!

good late morning - I was up watching hockey and so glad that the Bruins won. I was listening to the USA broadcast and at one point in the 2nd period one of the broadcasters said that the coach for the Maple Leafs is the most relaxed he had ever seen the coach Mike Babcock. LOL then came the third period and the Bruins scored 4 straight goals and the Leafs just folded. Neither goalie was all that good as the final score was 7-4. We are now on to round 2. Two games tonight an early Caps/Pens and a late game Knights/Sharks. I will have to have a nap to make sure I can stay up LOL. I had caught up on sleep with there being no late games as those series ended early. The weather today is gorgeous. Blue sky and no wind. This am is kids hockey - the Under 18 championships and it is USA vs Russia. Winner continues and the loser goes home. Right now it is tied 1-1 in the second period. Had a great conversation with my sister. We are both great, our family's are great so that is good.

Chris that is funny about the day's of the week. I get mixed up too when my son or DH are home from work. Hope you get outside it is too nice to be indoors. Next week should be even better. And don't worry don't need the crown until their is pain and knock on wood that won't be for a long time. Tacos sound good!

Trudy your hike sounds so nice! Michael's is always expensive and so annoying when you know you can do better. That is how I am about knitting and sweaters or scarfs but yet I don't do it. Enjoy the talk with Heather and the boys. Glad that Mason is having fun with he kids. How fun to have them swimming. And so happy for the Bruins but both did they make their fans suffer. Talk about highs and lows. This next round will be tough but as the Lightning defeated my team I am really cheering for the Bruins to crunch that team. LOL

Rae I am hoping that she gets one of those 6 beds. She needs it and you and Jen have been working so hard. Glad you are taking care of yourself as that is important too! good to get Taz out

Felis yep going on walks in the spring is the best! And I am sure as long as someone cooks the rest of the family will be happy. My son says that all the time he will eat anything if he does not have to cook.

Jean waving hi!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. A very quick hello today from me. I had my tumeric/ginger green tea, then did a 15 minute weight lifting routine, put laundry away, gave Taz his goat milk (he loves it) and now I have a coffee and can get started on my work day.

We'll be heading to the hospital later this afternoon. I found an old radio (from about 35 yrs ago) that still works so am going to bring that up so B can listen to music without having to use Jen's phone b/c it's starting to be a battle, B can't handle frustration (like a young child) and gets verbally abusive and pouts if she is told to give the phone back to Jen. So, hopefully the little radio will solve that problem.

I've got banana bread to bring for her (the last of my frozen baking) so will have to make a few more batches of goodies to freeze for visits next week. I am having to do more food prep and cook on weekends as I don't have time during the week and am getting somewhat more organized about it. I keep looking out at my garden and feel bad that I didn't get any pruning done so its not going to be a good year for my garden but I have to accept that I just can't keep on top of everything, some things will have to slide.

Chris - enjoy the chocolate. Is G feeling better now? Hope you get to both rest and get out in your garden. Do both!

Trudy - I was thinking of you yesterday with your hike, what a beautiful day it was. Glad the new clinic is coming so hopefully G's wait time will not be so long. Sounds like Mason is coming out of his shell, how wonderful! Enjoy your coffee and have fun scrapping. I keep saying I'm going to scrap and one of these days I hope I can, I do miss it but I'm too tired to find the time, but soon I hope.

Almost forgot to mention, a big happy moment this morning for D and I was when we were sitting in the kitchen, shortly after waking up, I looked out the window at the feeder and saw the baby hummingbird getting a drink. He was so tiny, I've never seen one that small before. Their nest is under the (second story) porch where it is a covered area. They have been sleeping in there all winter and now have their babies in there. I'm so glad I saw it. So now I know how teeny tiny the babies are, we were wondering about it these last few weeks, knowing that it is about that time of year for them.

So, gotta get to work, I see a few urgent files have come thru so....have a great day, everyone!

Yesterday was gray and chilly and our main accomplishment was finishing reading up for and filling in our mail-in ballots for the May primary. Today is sunny and a little warmer, really nice! I have a meeting in the evening for which I'm ready. After we'll probably eat at a steakhouse not far from the meeting site that is good and a fun place. Last night we ate at a place with 8 big screen TVs and could watch all three games I wanted to see: the Cavs who had a spectacular last second win to go up 3-2 in their first round series, the Indians who beat the nasty Cubs (we don't forget who beat us in the World Series!) and the Bruins. When we left the Bruins had gone up 5-4 and congrats on their winning 7-4.

Felis, I know you've said your sister cooks, but good for you that you fill in while she vacations. I'm sure the family is happy to have someone else cook even if it's not quite as gourmet. Hoping the pollens and such that cause your allergies are waning and letting you better enjoy the nice weather.

Chris, being retired we find we often have to think about what day of the week it is and sometimes it really feels like the wrong day. Like everyone else I know you won't have napped, but do hope you got outside.

Trudy, your hike sounds so nice and pretty. Of course you don't even have to leave your house for pretty. Boy do I know what you mean about the price of wreaths. I've seen the prices and had the same thought. I have a spring one that still looks pretty good that I made, but usually don't follow through either. Mason and basketball seems to be a winning combination. How nice he can enjoy the other kids now. Sure hope doing a hike page will get your creativity flowing again!

Nancy, hope you got out with Luther in the beautiful day. Seems like you can get hockey games to watch at most any time but a sunny warm day still seems to good to be inside.

Rae, so glad you're stopping in to visit here! Sure hoping B gets one of those special six beds! The baby hummingbird was a wonderful sight to start your day. How special.

OMG, girls,
I'm not sure do Alessandro D'Avenia is been translated on english but DEFINITELY should be! This man is god of the phrases, he create prose which sounds like poetry. And most important, he really knows how to feels! Love, fear, pain! He know how to feels them and even better he have this ability to make you believe that you feels them. At this time at this moment, you are some of his characters or maybe even few of them at once! He is one the favorite authors of my sister and she gave me this book, because it is all that I was spoke to you (and to her) past few weeks. The woman who is lost the power of the passion, the high school girl which is found the power of the love, the adult woman which have the power of the wisdom born from the pain. OMG the female characters are just lovely! Actually in the male roles only the little brother and the school boy worth it, oh and the adult men too! It have two mens but they both are tragic. Which is funny at some point because D'Avenia is on their age too. It is also annoying that because he is teacher always put some warnings for the young readers, ''don't do that because it is dangerous'', which it takes away part from the freedom of the characters, but at the same time gives absolute realism to the story. Sorry for the spoiler, but: I remember how our teacher also once seriously scolding us: ''do not go on a night swim on the beach because you can be raped'', after the poor woman learn what group of us was did. (But fortunately we had only fun with no problems.) Everything in this book is so realistic, but the author is described it in so wonderful way, so you can't to not like it! To not Love it!
The original title is ''Cose che nessuno sa'' which should be translated as ''The things that nobody knows'', instead of decision of the local publisher which is choose one of the metaphors in the book "A pearl in the mussel'', but this metaphor of Alessandro was very powerful, so I can see why .

Chris, is this Easter eggs are chocolate count me too, please :D ! Uff, I also have to scrap 2 more pages quick before the end of the month. I have ideas but still feel to blur so preferred to lie at the bed and read. How went Pepcid and the fluids for Floyd this time? Absolutely agree about the needs of carefully reading on all labels. Especially at the time of Christian fasting when all food have to be vegan, my sister read everything, because different brands use different products. The fun part is that vegan gummy bear is cheaper and still good as the original.

Nancy, LOL, but I'm sure your son is just kidding! My sister is like you, she is so good in cooking that easy can win one of these TV shows, like The Taste. Like you she have creativity, new ideas and real feels for the taste. Unlike me I eat because it should be, so I don't feel nuances. Mom work at the afternoon (Is the word is 'second shift' ?! ), she is hygienist at cake shop, so come home too late. And dad know only one recipe without meat (he is SO typical farm boy  ). He sometimes joke that miss the time when we was kids and ate everything. I hope you could get this nap that was planned and you are refreshed for the next games! Have fun!

Trudy, Oh, yes, pollen this spring, looks so much more and early than usual, but at some moment my immune will go over it, just not now :( :) . I thought the same thing, with your creativity you can make so much better wreaths! The hike sounds awesome! Hope soon to see the pics from it and from this with the memorial! I just checked your gallery and OMG, this LO with Sadie is so cute! How innocent is she, her baby is mouse wrapped in a blanket with cat print, OH, this kids don't have prejudices just one big heart!

Rae, oh, dear, I can't believe that you could worried for such a things like your garden, at this moment, don't put unnecessary pressure on your mind! You have enough stress! Just look on this situation like year to can soil to take a breath! Or your new project to test the wild wishes of your garden! Oh, the story for the baby bird is so cute! And like Jean said it must be good sign with sure!

Jean, I'm happy to hear that your weather is also nice and will allow you to take fun out! I suppose that to watch sports in group is better because of the adrenaline of the crowd.
