why is it soooooooooooo coooooooooooooollllllllddddddddddd?????????
:hurt:

Ok, got that out of my system for now. Let's do some toe touches this morning and get the blood flowing a bit. Push your chair back so you have room to bend. Inhale and reach your arms over your head. As you exhale, bend from the waist and reach down to touch your toes. Feel that gentle stretch but don't overdo it! Inhale and reach back up over your head. Exhale and reach down and really feel your muscles loosen. Inhale and come back up-- exhale slowly.

Man, I wanted to stay in that down-relaxed position.

Yesterday morning was nice- my parents were fine sitting outside on the porch. I called them first to see if they wanted to come one day next week when it might be warmer but they were good, my mom had on a scarf and gloves. They brought up Italian wedding soup my mom had made for us. I don't eat beef but that soup is so good I am going to have it anyway. She also made us potato salad and brownies and *felt bad* that she didn't have time to make us macaroni salad too. (See, this is where I get it from. It is not my fault, it is in my genes)
It was so good to see them and it wasn't as hard saying goodbye as it was the first time they came up.
In the afternoon, Caitlyn and I made our Christmas cookies, I even queued up Trans Siberian Orchestra on my phone. hehe!!! After dinner, we played Cards Against Humanity. I started out kicking everyone's butt but then it turned around and I got my butt kicked. LOL

Today is a nothing-day. It is freezing so I am going to stay bundled up and try to get another page or two scrapped.

Gratitudes-
-oil prices are so low that I don't feel bad about putting the heat up a degree or two in the house.
-seeing my parents was wonderful
-laughing with my family and looking at old photos with them

Trudy- I am happy to hear that you are feeling better, but sorry that it is raining, hope it washed all of the pollen away.
Isn't it crazy the things you can get from the stores and what you can't? No rhyme or reason. I try really hard to be extra nice to the people who have to work. Did I tell you I felt so bad that I didn't tip the delivery man from the Pharmacy that I mailed them $5? I hope he gets it. It is a mom and pop store so I think he will.
I think it is a great idea for the grand to have journals! They are part of history.
The heater is a great idea, I wish I had one for outside. The only one I have is small for the kids' bathroom. Hopefully, next time we see them, it will be warm.

Felis- happy that you are reading a good book. I miss my library!
I wouldn't worry about expanding the types of books you are reading as long as you are enjoying what you are.
Sentimentality is a *good* thing these days. It reminds us of our humanity. We need more of that, especially if we are going to be wearing masks more and more. You are a good person!
Caitlyn is plugging along- she got two more grades back- both A's and one with a note that is was one of the best presentations that the professor had seen. It was a big boost to her confidence.
Please tell your mom to be safe at work! xo

Nancy- The sun was very deceiving with the wind and temps. It looked like it should have been much warmer. what great news about the EHD and your DS's photos. You will have a great time scrapping!
You are 100% correct about keeping the distancing. The numbers in NJ are horrific.:(
That is what Scott is having trouble with - he has two classes with labs and one with fieldwork as well. The science part is rough. One of Cait's professors (Cross-Cultural Psych) is so intensely hands-on/discussion-driven that she emailed her class to apologize. Her method of teaching isn't translating to online and she is struggling.
I hope that Fall Semesters are able to be in person even if they have to limit class sizes.

Kay- Good for you to be back on track with your health and your scrapping!!! :high5: for "graduating" from the Home healthcare. I am glad that she gave you lots of suggestions on how to stay healthy- heart and COVID.
Thank you for the support, it goes against my nature to leave my parents out in the cold. But it was the right decision.
Enjoy your cobbler!

Hugs to all of you!

Woke up early again this morning. Guess if I stop going to sleep at 9PM I would sleep a bit later. Couldn't believe it... I got a sales call at 7:15 AM... and it was from someone in the same time zone! Glad I was already awake or I would have been even more cranky about it.

Not sure what I am going to do today... it will be a sad day. This would have been our 65th wedding anniversary. They say it gets easier as time passes but these milestone days bring it back again. This is the 3rd anniversary since he passed on. On the good side... I have found the home movies with his voice on them plus another two with him and I together.

Chris, glad you got to visit with your parents... and nice that they were dressed for the weather so they could visit with you outside. Yep... your mom sounds like a true Italian mom... bringing you lots of food! Glad Cait got the A's on her papers. i am sure it is hard on the professors to figure out how to do the hands-on part of the classes.

Trudy, nice that you are feeling a bit better. Hope your allergies are less and the rain washed a lot of the pollen away. Mine are in full bloom right now with the pollen counts through the roof! Of course that causes drainage which causes coughing.... which sounds bad until I take my meds for it. Unfortunately the meds only last a few hours and the coughing starts up again.

Not sure if I even want to get dressed today. May make this a PJ day. Coffee cup is empty - so need a refill. CYL

Hi girls,
sorry I messed and posted the other thread post here at first, but then fix it. It's just a regular day here, so I wasn't plan to post at all, but I read Kay message and I have what to say (nothing surprising, I always have).

Kay, who are these who say that time heals?! I'm always wondering how it's possible this proverb to become popular as it's idiotic! Loss of beloved never fades we just learn how to live with it. I love this quote:
“The only difference is that I am getting used to the pain. It’s like discovering a great hole in the ground. To begin with, you forget it’s there and you keep falling in. After a while, it’s still there, but you learn to walk round it.” ― Rachel Joyce, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry
Be sad today, watch your home movies, get one his suit and wear it, do whatever you need to mention your anniversary! And don't forget we are here to hear your stories and to offer shoulder to cry on!

Chris, bravo for Cait success! Your visit with the parents sounds so cute! Oh, LOL poor mom, she didn't have time to make us macaroni salad :) yep, they said something about the apple and the tree LOL .

OK, my post is upside down today, but it's never mind. So I scraped and post my page but didn't like it now when I check it for comments, so maybe will redo it. I cleaned, and really nothing interesting. We have sun, but it's still cold.

good morning - just back from a walk with Luther and darn it is too cold! I am dressed for winter. Sun peaked through enough to give shadows for like 2 mins and now clouds and rain this evening all day tomorrow. The pits for me. Made a really yummy dinner and it was with kale instead of lettuce and by putting lemon juice on the kale it seemed to take away the bitterness. It was the dressing that made the dish for me and then you added roasted carrots and pear slices and chicken. Tonight is a noodle dish. At noon I will be watching a half hour Devils Q&A with Miles Wood. So that will be fun.

No personals today have to get ready for me Devils
Grateful that I can still get out even if cold.

Morning O-zies!! Cloudy and grey here today, but hopefully the rain will hold off and I will get in a walk this morning. As usual, not too much happening for me today and for many others LOL. I managed to get a layout completed for the miniO's challenge and got it uploaded this morning Hooray!! Why does it take me so long?? However I am feeling a bit more inspired now, so hopefully I will get another one done today! Last night was Hot Dogs for dinner, funny how my DH loves it when its Hot Dog night LOL. I wrap my Dog in Bacon and he has his in a Bun, lots of cooked onions and all the toppings, along with French Fries. I only have a few fries, which I shouldn't but it is one food that I really miss being on Keto! Sadly the weight is slowly creeping up so I really need to get more active. Sure miss my hikes and my swimming, but hopefully it won't be for too much longer. I should start to do the daily work outs that my kids and grands are doing! Anyone ever try the figure 8 workout videos?? They look fun, but I am having a hard time finding them online. Not sure if I will be getting any face time calls today, most likely it will be tomorrow as Heather's man has to go into work tomorrow to unload a big shipment that is arriving. So I am sure the boys will be driving her crazy and she will need a break LOL. I spent a lot of time on the phone yesterday with my sister Pam, who just wanted to chat. I think we are both missing having other adults to talk too. Then my brother called to discuss different options for Cable and Internet providers. Not an exciting conversation, but they were happy to be talking with someone other than themselves too LOL.

Chris - so nice that you had a good visit with your Mom and Dad, but too bad it was so chilly! Yes, your Mother sounds like a wonderful Italian Momma, bringing you lots of food!! How great for you and your family! I should get that card game and play with our kids one night over Zoom. I bet it would be fun!! We could have lots of laughs and enjoy some adult time together! Isn't it great how low the price of fuel is right now!! But we really can't go anywhere LOL. Enjoy your Christmas cookies!! I found Girl Guide Cookies for DH at London Drugs and he is one happy man!! Doesn't take much to please him LOL.
Glad to hear that Caitlyn is doing so well with her schooling!! WTG Caitlyn!! Hope you manage to keep warm today and that your temps will soon do a change around and get nice and warm for you!

Kay - Yes the pollen is crazy heavy this year, the rain has seemed to help a lot and now I am not feeling the tickle in my throat any more. I don't really suffer too much from allergies, just a tickle now and then. But you are right it does not sound good to be coughing anywhere in public these days LOL. Sorry that you got the dreaded sales call that early in the morning :mmph: I hate those calls!! Those early morning calls always make my heart skip a beat, thinking that it must be something bad!! It must be difficult for you to have these milestone days without your loved one! I am sending you hugs and hope that hearing his voice and seeing the videos give you some comfort!

Felis - Nice that you are enjoying your reading! That cat Meme really cracked me up!! Thanks for sharing! Yes I did get a peek at Stormy the other day on Face time and my DIL said that she thinks Storm is sick and tired of everyone being home all the time LOL. I did get a message from the man that wants my painting, he still wants it just would like me to wait until this Pandemic is under control. However you could be right and he could very well be broke by then LOL. No worries, what will be will be and if he can't afford it I will hang on to it. I am happy that you have your kitties to keep you company and to entertain you! I really miss my Mr. Abu in times like these when we can't get out to socialize with others.

Nancy - How great that you will have some kid photos to get you scrapping again! You are so smart to figure out your new EHD! Hope you and Luther have had another great walk this morning! Hope that the kids enjoy their journals, I should have gotten one for myself LOL. I must have one lying around here somewhere and should keep it handy for documenting these crazy times we are all going through. Have fun with your photos and I look forward to seeing your new layouts here!

Ok off to get more coffee and empty the dishwasher, exciting times LOL. Have a great day everyone!

Gratitudes:
My DH is happy when it is Hot Dogs for supper
The rain washed away a lot of the pollen
I have some new inspiration to scrap
We are still Healthy

Good afternoon, all. I'm excited that we're trying something new this evening. I've "rented" a movie with half the cost ($9.99) going to our local independent movie theater. :pop2: Hopefully it will work even with our slow Internet. I picked a documentary called "The Booksellers" that looks like fun, at least if you love old books. DH doesn't care enough about the NFL draft to want to watch that instead. Though cloudy today, it felt pretty good when I was outside, but yesterday it snowed! About 6 pm for maybe half an hour, big white flakes, but no accumulation. For dinner last night I wanted to fix cabbage with carrots and onions and found a recipe online for braised just those things. It was easy and we both enjoyed it. Trying to make things a little different some days. I'm so not used to cooking every night.

Chris, the visit with the parents must have been good for all of you, and much better that you didn't cave and try to have them inside. Too bad she didn't have the macaroni salad too. :p Felis got that right about apple falling. I read your journaling post and find it fascinating that Scott is remembering those things and you're remembering how you used to journal. It has long bugged me to see people create wonderful family history type LOs with no words to bring it to life and make it meaningful in the future. :tape: OK, off my soapbox.

Kay, it's at least comforting to have rediscovered those movies with your DH. Felis is right here too, you just learn to go around the hole more of the time, but today maybe isn't one of them. Hugs.

Felis, as you can see, I'm glad you posted those comments. You said you needed to be looking for a new job. Does that mean it's certain now that the old one won't be coming back? Good luck with all of that. And I agree you should read whatever really appeals for now. And the cat meme was great!

Nancy, yay, you have Devils stuff today! We are pretty much out of junco sightings now in the yard but had a white-throated sparrow yesterday (we sometimes get some in the winter at our feeder, but not this year) so spring is progressing however slowly.

Trudy, I love the story about hot dog night making a big hit. We can make the most of the smallest things when we have to. Glad you finally heard from that man, but can understand, maybe, his holding off. It'll be interesting to see how the kids use the journals, a super idea from grandma. And I love your birthday LO!

Grateful for
the stretches (thanks, Chris)
the movie tonight?

all of you
we're still well
