Today's mental goodness is this bit of advice from Inspirivity/Jennifer Wagner
attachment.php

My MIL posted this and it really resonated with me. I was given this advice years ago by a therapist after Gary got sick and then the rest of us. Our lives were no longer what we thought they would be. It is a great reminder that we truly only have the present and that we are capable and creative enough to thrive!
I hope that all of you are able to take that message with you as you go through the day today and in the future.

I am in a MUCH better frame of mind than I was yesterday. I slept until 5 which is pretty amazing. Gary also got us a huge score. He somehow lucked into finding a Shop from Home spot for tomorrow. I placed a full order for tomorrow and I am also keeping the Walmart spot for Monday. Whatever I can't get from ShopRite I will keep on that list. I am also trying to get my @#@$@#% dad to tell me what he wants and I can meet him in the parking lot with the bags of food so he doesn't have to go into the store. But nope, darn, stubborn man need to get out.

I was able to spend about an hour outside. It was really cold and windy but I picked up a lot of the branches that had fallen. That was helpful after I couldn't get any of our information into the IRS website. It kept crashing or wouldn't accept the info as "correct" even though I had my 1040 right in front of me. Now I am locked out for 24 hours. The IRS has my correct banking info so I am not sure what is screwed up. At least I am blessed to have my mortgage and utilities paid this month and my parents and ILs would help us in a heartbeat if we needed it.

It is still really cold today so I think I am going to try to spend some time scrapping. I started a page a couple of days ago but got all stuck and uninspired again. I only have to edit the shopping list maybe one more time to add a few things that I forgot- like cheese for pizzas, oh and maybe some Vidalia onions for pasta. I am going to make Gary do lots of cooking LOL
I am also locked out of the IRS so I can't do a darn thing about that! heh.
Scrapping it shall be. :) Wish me luck!

Gratitudes:
-I spoke to my mom 7 different times yesterday and I only lost my patience a few times

Nancy- seeing the sun really makes such a difference, doesn't it? How is Luther doing today, not limping? I was very impressed by my mayor's virtual town hall we watched last week. Every day she sends out updates on how many cases the town has (159 as of last night :( ) This reinforces how important it is to vote in capable people at all levels of local and state govt. ETA: Full disclosure, I did not vote for her but she is doing a really good job keeping us safe and informed

Trudy- I loved that pretty blue sky painting you shared on FB- the colors were gorgeous.
What a wonderful treat to be out on your deck soaking up some sunshine. *jealous* Your dinner sounds delish too- (ok, maybe not the steak to me but I bet they smelled great.)
How was your walk? Yup, all of this is a rollercoaster. My b-day wish for you us that you can celebrate with your sisters and get pedis together soon!

Jean- Did it ever warm up by you? Even with the sun out, it is cold here. We have freeze warnings as well. One of the things that kept me up the night before last (on top of the grocery freak out) was what if I get sick and had to be quarantined away from my family and dogs???? :faint2:
I hope that you have time to paint and sketch soon too.

Felis- sorry to hear that you are having bad weather too. I am glad that you were able to get past the chapters about hunting. I am very happy to hear that one of your favorite bands released some new music!
hahahahaha!! I love that you would "borrow" a pool for Trudy! Can you borrow a personal chef for me? :D

hugs, everyone!!!!! xoxo

Morning my O-family! It is another blue sky day! The landscape company that have been working on our neighbours property are here and busy planting and digging and making the place look so much better. The previous owners did nothing in the way of gardening, so there was lots of room for improvement! Our neighbour is a doctor and doesn't seem to be too concerned about keeping social distance away from the workers :mmph: He has his two daughters with him too!! My sister who works in a care home said that the Doctors are the worst offenders, not always washing their hands between patients etc. No wonder this virus spreads like wildfire!! We really like our neighbours and their sweet daughters, but really?? This is so frustrating, when the rest of us are doing our best to abide by the rules!! Ok enough complaining, I need to get in a happy place today and get some scrapping done today!! I am feeling more inspired today, so hopefully it will be a good creative day!

Chris - Thank you for the nice comment on my painting, I am still not sure it turned out the way I had envisioned it, so it might be a re-do, but with the same colours. Yes we have really been enjoying our time together on our deck in the sunshine. It's not going to last too much longer as next week looks like a lot of rain on its way. :mmph: Oh well we really could use a good rain to get rid of the pollen! It is thick this year!! Glad I really don't suffer from allergies, but when I blow off the decks, it gets in my eyes and I have to quickly put some drops in my eyes to stop the itching! I will try to send you out some warmer temps!! What a wonderful saying you posted! It is so true and I got the same advice when Heather got so sick, our lives were turned upside down and would never be the same again. So we had to let go of our plans for the future and just live each day in the present! Thank you for the reminder!! So happy for you that your Gary found you a spot for online shopping!!! Hooray!! Good plan to keep the one at Walmart too! I thought I had a spot for Saturday, but the site kept crashing and now there isn't anything available until next week. So off to the store on Friday I guess. Lucky you to get the printer and that it prints 12X12 too, that is awesome!

Jean - How nice to hear from your DH's sister and of course she would love your hard work! Yes I left the closets and did some painting!! Just have no desire to tackle cleaning out things and stuff right now! Painting and creating is so much more fun!! Hope you are able to do some painting too today!! Would be nice if your temps warmed up and perhaps you could get out and sit in the sunshine for a bit!

Felis - Sorry your days have been gloomy!! Nice that you have found a good book to read and you are discovering a new form of interest! Glad that your favourite band has released more great music for you to enjoy also!! I will send you some sunshine and warmer temps too. Thanks for borrowing a pool for me LOL!! I can't believe the nerve of some of the rich and famous to dare to complain about being held captive in their mansions!! What I wouldn't do for a pool to at least get some exercise in!!

waving hi to Nancy, Rae, Kay and anyone else who pops in here today! I hope you are all Safe and Healthy!! Enjoy the day everyone!

- The dandelions will not be a problem from the neighbours yard anymore

Last night we had snow that was covering lawns and plants (like daffodils) this morning. Mostly sunny now and snow gone except in shadows. It likely won't be warm any time soon. But it was pretty this morning. I was glad that DH got a call from the clinic (that manages his taking of a blood thinner) moving his lab work from today to next month. I know taxes aren't really due for three months, but I still finished ours up yesterday and submitted them. We'll get some back from the feds but owe some to the state so not much impact from it. Enjoyed DH's comments last night on dinner that he liked. Normally he's not a big fan of chicken breasts, but this is the second time I've fixed some as a sort of fried rice that has lots of flavor that he thought was good. It's not a recipe, but just throwing a lot of things together (including rosemary, ground ginger and red pepper flakes) when I cook the chicken and then adding leftover rice and soy sauce. Today doing :washing: and who knows what for dinner. Refusing to think about groceries (too much) but we'll need some next week.

Felis, lovely that you had things, like new music, to make you feel better. Thanks for comments on my artwork! I'm feeling small stirrings that might get me back in the studio. Hope you get weather to encourage you in the garden. I'm looking forward to Saturday night (8 pm Eastern Time) and the music/entertainment special ‘One World: Together at Home’ that will be on US TV networks and a whole bunch of livestream sites.

Chris, I knew you had that message as part of your life, so you well-know how much it applies to us all now. Thanks for sharing that beautifully done version. How super Gary got that shopping spot! and smart to hang on to the other as well. Arghh! I hate it when I get locked out of a site like that. Well, 24 hours will pass. Wishing we could all get some nicer weather and get outside.

Trudy, still love thinking of the kids with their message for your birthday. What a great memory that photo will bring. And I'm glad you painted rather than do closets!!! Even going walking would be better.

 to all!

Grateful for

good afternoon - it is cold and windy and I am not happy even though there is sun. We walked Luther and it was not like spring even though so much is in bloom. It is gorgeous actually. I saw though that up north snow fell. We did not get that though they say that more is on the way for northern counties. Got sad news last yesterday that one of my girlfriends father died due to the virus. The of course can not have funeral or grave side services. He was 95 so I glad he had a long life but perhaps it could have gone longer. I did not cook yesterday and am not today either. Today I have the munchies and I am not even sure what I want to munch on something crunchy I think. And I cant go to the store. So annoying even though I know it is right both for my health and others. I listened to the governors and mayor of NYC and they present such reasoned statements I just wish Congress would get its act together and get the funding in place so that testing can be ramped up so we can finally determine who had and has not had the virus. I keep listening to the fact they want to bring back sports and I laugh. There is not way for social distancing in many of the sports except maybe baseball if all the extras sit in the stands and not in the dugout or bullpen. Oh well I am getting used to no sports.

Chris glad you are doing so much better. The grocery spots for pick up or delivery are not being found or being cancelled at the last minute so congrats on the spots. Glad you got in some outdoor time. It really does help to be outside. Thanks for the opening from your mom. It really is important to live in the present.

Trudy glad some where is warm. Hope you got in your long walk. That is true about doctors. We had some county parks that run along the river. There are signs that say closed but my DH does not feel it means he and Luther cant go. There is not one else there but I was raised to follow the rules and it irks me no end. Yes Luther likes to chase birds but maybe he is just going to have to find some where else. Oh well. I express my dislike but .... Saw the painting so pretty.

Jean wow you got the snow. Glad it mostly melted. Not surprised that your history newsletter is well received!

Felis so sorry your weather has been so bad. Glad you have found so good reading material. My favorite TV show Songland is back and there are new songs. I love new songs. Glad you are hearing new songs too!

Waving to all
Grateful for sun

Been a busy morning... had a phone appt with primary care doc. She is pleased with how I am doing. Blood work was good and BP has been good....all good signs. Then Home Health supervisor came by to check paperwork... all good on that, too. Next week will be last visit with HH Nurse.

DD#1 let me know that her hubby checked out my laptop and it is all good for family get-togethers on-line. She will get it back to me when she is out next time.

Need to start putting together a groceries/supply list soon. Will need to get refills on meds in about 10 days. Both DDs have volunteered to do whatever shopping I need to have done then.

Weather is getting warmer...up to 71*F but still breezy. Have had hard freezes the last 3 nights so glad to see the warmer temps today. I also got a call this morning from the water-wastewater dept that I will get a 1 time refund on the wastewater charge due to the leak/etc.... glad to hear that as my bill will be back down to normal again! Also heard from my auto ins co that they would refunding 20% for a couple of months of the auto insurance as there has been a significant drop in accidents and less miles being driven due to the pandemic.

Sorry no personals today. Thinking of you all.

Jean, thanks for the video, it's lovely! I'm always wondering did the right word is 'painting' as on english obviously include paint only, but in my language not. It's a word for art picture in frame. So I'm not sure. You always said mixed media is that the english name of this kind of art?

Sorry girls I'll not post these days as we celebrate Easter, and the phamily atmosphere is a little bit tense! Will try to take some time at Sunday.
Kiss and hugs! Have a lovely weekend! :choclove
