Well, so much for sleeping in this morning LOL This week so far had been so busy, today was the first day I felt I could just lay low. My dogs had other plans. Harley has had me up since 5:30. I slept horribly- I had this fitful sleep/dream all night where Gary was going away for a weekend of partying, and he wouldn't promise me he wouldn't cheat on me. It was so upsetting!
We might have a boatload of crap in our lives, but the one thing that *is good* is that we are super-tight. Lots of trust and love. No dang dream is going to ruin that hahahaha!
yesterday was...ummmmm...... interesting. Did y'all hear me scream at 10 am? I dropped off six Rx's-- three went through, three got kicked back. I had to call three different drs to get them to call my ins. co to get prior authorization, before we can get them filled.
Then we started calling around to see what we could do for Gary's diabetes supplies. Medicaid couldn't help us. The co. that he has the pump from told him that we didn't qualify for assistance because he has been out of work for over 12 months. His test strip co. said they could send him one free bottle. WTF???
Finally the really really great news (and I really do mean GREAT!!) was that the woman I spoke to on Monday at our County Social Services got my letter with my new financials. We had called her early inthe morning, and she said it could take 30-60 days to get reviewed. Then she got our letter, called us back in the afternoon, saying that as of May 1, we are approved for Medicaid Plan A. This is for the lowest income people but it includes diabetic supplies. She felt bad for us, and put a real rush on it. I said a prayer for her last night like you wouldn't believe! Thank you Janice J!!!!!!
But (there is always a but LOL) here is the irony of it all. When I was talking to the pharmacy tech, I mentioned that I was looking for a job. She said that she would pass it on to the Pharm. Mgr. I am pretty sure, if there is an opening soon, I could get the job. But get this-- now at my lower income, we qualify for the plan we need. If I took the job, then I would make "too much" and he wouldn't get coverage.
How f-ed up is that???
Then coincidentally, I got an email asking to write to Congress about your healthcare story. Oh boy! I spent an hour writing up a "stripped down" version of my life over the last few years.
I sent it along to the group that was compiling them, but I am also going to be sending it out anywhere and everywhere I can think of.
If you want to read it: Lyme Story
Can you imagine how fried this makes me????
I did scrap a page for Jodie's DSL-- that was fun.
I have a bunch of work to catch up on for ACDSee but then I want to scrap some more.
So, now that I have totally rambled on and on (as always.....)
Let me check in with all of you!
BTW- did I ever tell you how much I love you guys for listening to me ramble? Cuz I really do.
Besides, I can't afford therapy, so guess what? You're it!
Dawn, see- I did get good news!!!!
And wow! Nice meeting, maybe people are finally getting a clue. Did you feel like you were back in KDG getting stickers?
Alicia- good to see you again! Hope you and the kids didn't get too much of a sugar rush
BTW- how is Canada's healthcare? At one point dh was saying we'd have to move to Ca. just to get healthcare LOL I don't think I'd do to well in Ca. I am a summer/hot/sunny girl. I think I'd prefer Cuba. Or France. I'll live with Dumpty!
Whew- good to hear Matthew is feeling better. Did you survive that crazy day? Made me tired just reading it. I am so sad for you that you are still having such a hard time- wish I could help.....Love you!
Tali- you too- good to hear the twinks are better. All of this change in weather does the poor kids in! I am so proud of you doing SUTUCS-- I wanted to, just like I wanted to ADSR... but I can barely keep up with my Cheery O stuff.
*eye roll at your ins story* WTH do these people think? You have nothing better to do than fly sick and pg?? Just to get $$ from them? Insane.....
Sally- FWIW I think your Los and gallery totally rock- I looove your style. Since meeting you, YMG and Cora- it fits you perfectly. I wish I could scrap half as good as you do.
Clara- sorry, I misunderstood on the test results- sooooo glad you didn't have Lyme!!! Lyme and EBV have a lot of similar symptoms and can be misdiagnosed as each other. I am so glad that you were able to beat it. I had mono in my first year of college and I can totally relate to what you wrote. HS must have been harder b/c you have no choice but to go to classes. In college I dropped my course load to 11 credits just so I could get back on my feet.
Merkee- can totally understand about being gunshy w/ your back. You are doing some strengthening exercises for it? Hope so. LOL at Sally and SUTUCS-- Sally does make it sound like exercise LOL
CLARA!!!! Skydiving! GAH!!!!! Like I said- that is on Gary's Bucket list- I tild him he'd better not let me know cuz I would be freaking! You are one good wife! I could never do that for MMG.
I love sleep too- too bad it is so elusive!
And what a sweetheart Ethan is! You must have missed each other lots.
Got your note on FB- soooo so soooo happy that Selita liked everything!
Linda P- LOLOL!! When you wrote that you wanted to get a good seat, I assumed you meant up front LOL!!!
Kayleigh....... OMG I am so sorry! You are really going through a rough spot. I wish I could help in some way..... I am sending you huge hugs.
Not that it helps me all that much, but I do keep telling myself "This too shall pass." Sometimes if you say it enough you do end up believing it.
Kelly- would you believe that even gettign there early the aisles were a mess? My Shop Rite is redoing the aisles again. And the people that do it have no clue that people pushing carts are trying to get through LOL And i am one of those polite ones who waits for them to finish..
Woot for good weather- that Nico must love being out and about!
Sara-- thanks for the laughs and ice cream- can't ask for more than that!
To the rest of my O-fam- Love ya!
