Happy April!!! woohoo!!! It's April Fools Day and sadly I don't have any tricks up my sleeve this year. I used to love doing little things to make people laugh. When the kids were little I would put food coloring in their milk, one year I made meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting and grilled cheese sandwiches made from pound cake and orange-tinted frosting. Food coloring would go along way in my house. Then - many of you have heard this one before- the year that I freaked every one of my friends and family (except my brother) with the photos of Gary "tattooing" Caitlyn who was 5 at the time. Gary was tattooing at home and had practice skin. Cait loved to sit in the chair and have him practice on her arm, covered by the "skin." One day at the end of March, I took some pictures, and instead of sharing them, I waited until April Fool's, sent them out in an email with the subject: Cailtyn's First Tattoo.
Oh boy, did I unleash hell. My family was shocked, horrified, and *angry.* My friends thought that the school was going to send Child Services after us. Only my brother put two and two together and realized what day it was. That was the reaction I had expected, did they really think I was going to let my 5-yo get tattooed????? #1 rule in my house was always that they had to wait until they were 18. Cait and I got matching tattoos for her 18th b-day and we went one month before and she teased me about how I broke my own rule.
Lemme see if I can find the pics for the newer people who haven't seen them.
The first one is the version I sent out, but you can see in the second that it was one big joke. In retrospect, maybe I should have sent that one too.
One year, I posted that I was no longer doing the Daily Ooos and that I was saying goodbye to the O, stepping down and all that. That didn't go over so well either. Needless to say, I don't do pranks anymore. :D

My day yesterday was busy yet not busy. My order got screwed up a bit and I was missing some items and had to go back to get them. But I love the people who work there, and it is nice when customer service knows you aren't going to yell at them and they go out of their way to help in return. I did some more work scrapping and followed along with the crochet tutorial before I made one of our favorite dinners, broccoli rabe pasta- broccoli rabe with loads of garlic and olive oil over penne. Mmmmm.

Today I am going to try to place an order at the local Tractor Supply that does curbside pick-up. I have been having a really hard time trying to find whiskey barrel planters. The wood ones are so $$$ and the plastic ones are either too $$ or too small. TSC has some that should work and if I don't have to pay for delivery, that helps keep the cost down too.

That is about it! HAGD!!!! xoxo

@BrightEyes I hope that you are feeling better and will be back soon!

@taxed4ever I am sooooooooooo happy for you, that you are feeling a bit better. Yes, everyone needs some meltdowns occasionally (in my case, not so occasionally but rather much too often *G*) I am sure that the hike with Linda helped a lot. Your avi looks amazing!!
It is not in human nature to be so isolated. Even though you can hug your Gary, it isn't the same as seeing and being able to hug your kids and grands. I so fortunate that Gary and both of my kids are huggers (my goodness, Caitlyn will still sit on my lap and she is taller than me! LOL!!!) but I miss hugging my parents. That is absolutely fabulous that Heather and Jason and their crews will be together. I can only imagine the Facetime calls you will get from them :D

@vickyday Do you find the IBS acts up with stress? I can't imagine having (IBS, not stress!) that but I don't have to imagine insomnia. Congrats on a new grandson coming soon! 19 grandkids already- wow! I will be lucky if I get one.
I wish I could help with the booties but as I have been yammering about, I am struggling with crocheting rounds myself.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do with plants. If you think you might give up halfway through the season. I would suggest going with herbs. Rosemary and sage don't need lots of attention and will come back every year too. Coriander is cool because it reseeds itself. And mint-- well- always grow mint in buckets unless you want mint everywhere.
Hope you are feeling better today.

@Cherylndesigns You say 61* like it's a bad thing LOL I would love for it to be that warm and sunny today. I hope that the winds die down so you can sleep again. You ladies are the three musketeers- or should I say Musk-a-tears cuz you are all running around on a tear! You must have so much fun together. I can't wait for the day that Cait and I and my mom can go out together.
What!!! WIFI- IN A WEEK????????????????????? I am shouting along with ya!!!! I hope that it happens!

@scrap-genie What birds are next up in sightings in your area? How neat that the redpolls stayed so long. I saw a post/photo on Twitter that owls are not waterproof, poor little guy was soaked to his skin. Who knew? (probably everyone other than me *g*)
yeah, I think we all need that hiding smilie- thank you for reminding me about backups, too. Yesterday, I saw that my backup drive is almost full. I meant to look into that but I forgot. Today is a good day to do it.
Who is calling me stubborn? I am *not* stubborn and that is my story and I sticking to it, no matter what! *stomps foot*
ROTF!
Narrator Voice: Faery is indeed, extremely stubborn.

@LSlycord "Listen to Gary??" Whose side are you on? Don't tell me what to do!!!! See- NOT stubborn. :p :p :p

xoxo!

Hello, all. Popping in for a quick visit and catch up on what is going on. Needed to change my Avatar from the birthday one. Sorry I wasn't able to play in the birthday celebration. Feeling a bit better but going to be MIA for awhile longer. Thank goodness the BP is lower now and hoping it stays down. Will be getting a stress test appointment soon. Not up to scrapping just yet but hope to get back to that in the near future. Mainly reading, resting, (napping) and avoiding stress.
Sister is checking her calendar to decide when she will be coming over for a visit this month. Haven't seen her since Nov 2019 - so will be so nice to spend some time together. She had her 2 Covid shots over a month ago so feel we will be okay for the visit. Sending Happy Easter wishes to all who celebrate it this weekend. CYL

Morning everyone! Happy April fools day! I am not one that usually plays the April Fools Day pranks, but my kids did when they were younger. I have been busy talking with Heather and the boys this morning. Sounds like they are also going into lock down again. Boys are home for the Easter Break, but looks like it will be a much longer break than anticipated! Poor Heather can't catch a break, how will she be able to work with two young boys around all day long?? I think that they are all pretty excited to be getting the company this weekend, I am so happy that they will be together! Thanks for the nice comments on my AVI!! It was a photo that was taken in the Palace of Versailles when we were in Paris. It was such a happy day and I couldn't believe that we actually got to be there. I had to cut my poor DH out of the picture, but I am sure he won't mind LOL. I have lap swimming at noon today, so will have to leave my Gary his lunch. He still is coming home for his lunch hour, he seems to enjoy it as it gets him out of the building for a bit and makes the afternoon go by a bit faster. Other than that I need to get my grocery order in so I can pick it up tomorrow. Oh and we got our tax refund today, so hubby told me to go ahead and order the silouhette machine that I want for my birthday. Of course no one has it stock anywhere, seems to be the story of my life. We waited too darn long and now I am out of luck. Now what??? Oh well I guess one day I will be able to get from somewhere. Oh Darn another call coming in so I will have to catch up with you all a bit later.

Hi everyone. I've been MIA for a bit again. Got the results of Remi's blood work and it looks like she has Addison's disease (adrenal insufficiency) and possibly IBS and whatever else. She is eating and has good energy right now so our vet wants to give her system a break for a bit before we decide on the next course of action. This is not a condition that can be cured or will go away so we are looking at lifelong treatment and testing. I'm not keen on waiting too long before starting the treatment (monthly shots and daily pills) because if she goes into crisis again it can become life-threatening very quickly. Its going to be a long time of learning what stresses her out and how to adjust meds and always watching for signs of an adrenal crisis. I had really hoped this would not be her diagnosis as I had read about it but I knew it was a possibility. Poor little girl. Hopefully we will be able to deal with this financially and will need to learn how to keep her as stress-free as possible. I joined a FB support group which will help with providing information. I won't be scrapping as much b/c I need to really work with training and desensitizing her to things to help keep stress/fear low for her. We love her so much and thankfully D agrees that although it is scary to think of the financial cost, we will do all we can to keep her healthy. Luckily I work at home so she won't be dealing with the stress of me leaving every day for work and after next summer, D will be home too once he retires. We just never know what life is going to throw at us and I'm really hoping our lives settle down sometime soon. It's been such a stressful couple of years with everything.

So, I may get to chat a bit more here and there since I won't be scrapping as much....that's a bonus, eh? LOL.

We got no measurable snow in March, but April Fool!! Look at our yard. The red arrow points to pretty daffodils that opened yesterday or the day before.

Chris, good to know you aren't stubborn (ROTFL!) I'd forgotten the Cait's tattoo thingee. Yup that must've gone over like a lead balloon. These days though I bet there are 5-y-o kids with them. Keep looking forward to seeing your folks on the weekend. That will be nice. We are going to get together to bird with a nephew this month as we'll all had our vax. He has done photography for a park we've never seen, so that's where we'll meet.

Kay, glad to hear you're more or less OK. We miss you, but want you to stay well.

Trudy, I guess that's life that the machine you want is now not in stock by you when you're ready to order it. Sigh. Maybe with the boys off school, you can try to engage them both for a bit longer to get Heather a little space. When it's warmer, how long can they play unsupervised (or lightly watched?) in the yard? Hope you have a good swim and can continue that.

Rae, oh, poor little Remi. Such a sweetie, so sad that she'll have that to live with, but she's lucky to be with you to care for her and love her. Wish you could catch a break!!

Linda, Cheryl, Felis, and all, hope you are having a good start to April.

Good evening lovely ladies. We have hit a cool stretch of weather and so air conditioner is back off. I think that Florida weather is crazy in it’s own right. Chris that photo of Cait is so funny! I can only imagine how stirred up your parents were. @faerywings I laughed when I typed ”to listen to Gary” and thought how much older I sound than 13 years ago! I wondered if you would notice! LOL

@BrightEyes I am glad that you are feeling better. Hope it continues for your sister’s visit. It is crazy how long it has been since we have really been able to be with loved ones. Happy Easter to you too!

@taxed4ever how nice that you and Gary get to enjoy lunch together. Brian and I worked together for years and so we rode to work together and ate lunch together. It was nice. Hadn’t done that for about 15 years but with both of working from home now, we get to do lunch together most daya, as well as occasionally meeting at the coffee pot in the kitchen. Sorry to hear that they are shutting down for poor Heather too.

@bcgal00 I just can’t help but think how lucky Remi is to have you. What if she had gone to someone else? Would they have loved her enough so quickly to go through what you did with her? Looking forward to having you pop in here more often.

@scrap-genie it will be nice to be able to enjoy birding with your nephew. I still just do birding in my backyard but my goal is to discover some new places with some new birds before it gets terribly hot! Last spring we had a mama hawk in our preserve in the back. She had a baby and I was lucky enough to get to watch her one day as she was teaching the baby to fly. I saw a hawk a couple of days ago. I am hoping it might be the same one. I haven’t looked to see if they usually return to the same area each year.

So much to learn. Have a very good Good Friday ladies!

Good evening all! Sorry for saying 61 like it's a bad thing, Chris, you were probably throwing mental tomatoes at me!! (Is there such an emoji?????) I liked it better when it was 75 but it will be soon. Just a little dip in the temp. Hey, it's April Fool's Day, isn't it? My family used to always do something but nobody does anymore. I think everybody's sense of humor is on vacation with all of this covid mess.

Chris @faerywings you are SO bad!!! I can't even imagine how your family over-reacted when you told them Cait was getting a tat!! How did you get those pictures anyway? It looks like the real thing!! That's so cool that you two got your first tats together. I got my first one with my youngest dd - she already had 3. LOL Both my dd's have them and my SIL also. Ava has 3 now. Her first one is in my handwriting and it's on the inside of her arm. It says "enjoy the little things". I've always said that and she wanted it on her body. It's just beautiful!

It's been a decent day temperature wise. Not as warm as earlier, but by and large, not too bad. Probably 65 or so. At least the sun has been shining.

Ava and I might work on the shutters tomorrow or maybe wait until Saturday. We got a brand new wok and Adrienne initiated it by cooking delicious stir fries for dinner. It was a chicken and rice dish and it was delicious.

Linda, that's really weird weather for Florida, but they've been having some real swings, haven't you. Our youngest dd still lives there, so we get daily updates.

I've got to go see if I can remember how to count up my gallery posts for the last period. I'm SO confused because I looked back at the last 3 months and my posts (forum) have hardly budged. UGH. I don't understand it. Oh well, you all know I'm on here. I can't remember how to figure the gallery posts, so I hope I have bookmarks.

Have a good night all. TTYL

@Cherylndesigns and @faerywings i forgot to mention that Sydney decided that she wants us to get a tattoo together. When she was little and I would tell her “I love you“ she would respond with “Me too“. I even have a note from her where she says that “Me too” is our secret way to say I love you. She has saved a note that I left her that said Me too in my handwriting and she wants us to do matching tats. I told her that we need to get through vaccinations and find a time when COVID numbers aren’t on the rise and we will do it.

Because of the different connotation of me too now, we are going to put it where it won’t be seen by many. I think upper side under arm.

Linda, that's awesome! That's a great place to get one. Mine in on the underside of my wrist and not many people see it. Mine says "Breathe".

That's so cool that you're going to do it together. My youngest daughter and I have a similar saying - "I love it.....................it's perfect". She always wanted each of us to have half of that but I want the whole thing.

They're so personal and I love that people put so much meaning into them.

I was just coming on here to tell you all that I'm having an awful time staying connected tonight. I'm about to lose what's left of my mind. I'm running on my iPhone as a last resort.

If I'm not around as much, that's why. I just can't stay connected. UGH
