Happy April!!! woohoo!!! It's April Fools Day and sadly I don't have any tricks up my sleeve this year. I used to love doing little things to make people laugh. When the kids were little I would put food coloring in their milk, one year I made meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting and grilled cheese sandwiches made from pound cake and orange-tinted frosting. Food coloring would go along way in my house. Then - many of you have heard this one before- the year that I freaked every one of my friends and family (except my brother) with the photos of Gary "tattooing" Caitlyn who was 5 at the time. Gary was tattooing at home and had practice skin. Cait loved to sit in the chair and have him practice on her arm, covered by the "skin." One day at the end of March, I took some pictures, and instead of sharing them, I waited until April Fool's, sent them out in an email with the subject: Cailtyn's First Tattoo.
Oh boy, did I unleash hell. My family was shocked, horrified, and *angry.* My friends thought that the school was going to send Child Services after us. Only my brother put two and two together and realized what day it was. That was the reaction I had expected, did they really think I was going to let my 5-yo get tattooed????? #1 rule in my house was always that they had to wait until they were 18. Cait and I got matching tattoos for her 18th b-day and we went one month before and she teased me about how I broke my own rule.
Lemme see if I can find the pics for the newer people who haven't seen them.
The first one is the version I sent out, but you can see in the second that it was one big joke. In retrospect, maybe I should have sent that one too.
One year, I posted that I was no longer doing the Daily Ooos and that I was saying goodbye to the O, stepping down and all that. That didn't go over so well either. Needless to say, I don't do pranks anymore.
My day yesterday was busy yet not busy. My order got screwed up a bit and I was missing some items and had to go back to get them. But I love the people who work there, and it is nice when customer service knows you aren't going to yell at them and they go out of their way to help in return. I did some more work scrapping and followed along with the crochet tutorial before I made one of our favorite dinners, broccoli rabe pasta- broccoli rabe with loads of garlic and olive oil over penne. Mmmmm.
Today I am going to try to place an order at the local Tractor Supply that does curbside pick-up. I have been having a really hard time trying to find whiskey barrel planters. The wood ones are so $$$ and the plastic ones are either too $$ or too small. TSC has some that should work and if I don't have to pay for delivery, that helps keep the cost down too.
That is about it! HAGD!!!! xoxo
@BrightEyes I hope that you are feeling better and will be back soon!
