The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I know we usually have Weekend Editions of the Ooo';s, but since we already had a huge page going for Saturday, I thought it might be good to start a fresh thread for today.

Did all of my American O-Fam enjoy their 4th? It was queit here. My IL's were supposed to come up but then they couldn't. Gary was feeling good and wanted to find something to do but there was nothing really going on. Cait wanted to make an "All American" dinner, so we did that. Then the kids (my three kids, including the 40 yo boy haha) went out to light some small fireworks. I stayed in, reading and comforting the dogs who do not like fireowrks.

Today I and my two kids are going to my bro's for a BBQ. Gary didn't sleep again, so he is staying home. It stinks b/c if he stays home, I miss him and wish he was with us. If he comes and doesn't feel good then we have to grab our stuff and run. No win :(

One day we will all feel healthy and happy! I know it! Actually, yesterday was a good day for all of us. Scott felt great, I was good, Cait was good and so was Gary! Nice!!!

*checking yesterday's ooo's to see where I left off*

Oh Linda P, ITA. I am anti-hunting personally, however I see the need for it and respect the hunters who will use the meat etc. ( I love the Natives way of using every last possible bit and done respectfully). Too many people that I know of are more for trophy or sport, and that is what makes me sad.

Clara I hope that you felt better as they went on. How was your time at the lake?

Kat- your day sounds ike it was perfect!!

Sally hope that the grocery stores weren't too bad and that you had a great BBQ too!

Yvonna- oooh I love gettingmy hair done:) How sweet of Imke- that rain must have felt so refreshing. Did you get any pics?

Andrea- Geriatric PG??? I would have smacked her and blamed it on the hormones! ROTF @ AARP pregnancy plan heheheheh
If it makes you feel any better, I am only 41 and some days I feel closer to 80- and I am not pg :p

Def. email me what you would like- soap, lotion, bubble bath, bath salts or scrubs... give me a bunch of ideas an I'll play!

I am so glad that you are able to start Jen's OT so early, that makes a huge difference. It sounds very similar to what my friend's ds has- he has gait issues, speech, etc. The school was right on top of it as soon as he started Kdg. So good to hear that she is improving so quickly!

Yes, Popov vodka- I told ya it was when I was in college and the cheapest stuff around-- $8 for a fifth, IIRC LOLOL! Wouldn't be able to touch (or smell) the stuff now hehe

Ona-- I would *love* to come visit AU and NZ for the wildlife someday. They all sound amazing. When I was pg with Caitlyn I was in a online "Birth" club and one of the other mom's was in NZ. She sent me for Christmas that year a set of animal ornaments- every year I put them onmy tree and think how awesome it would be to see thme for real.

It sounds heavenly- to be able to sit on a verandah and watch all of them.

Dawn ROTF! Sorry to hear about your "fireworks." But so happy that you have a generator for the necessities!

Tali- such a bummer about the rain :( Hope the rest of the weekend is sunny. We are finally getting sun here in NJ, yesterday and today are gorgeous!

Sara-- hope you have a great day today too.

To all my O-fam:
xoxoxoxoxo

Good Morning All!!

The zoo was fabulous yesterday! Jesse was so happy and all smiles the whole time! It's not a big zoo, but just enough for a two year old to have some fun! After his nap, we pulled out the yard sprinkler and had some water play! Then Traci and Jaiden came and we did some early small fireworks for them...they still were a bit afraid of them. Jaiden (almost 11 mos) was actually scared to death...I had to bring her in. By 9 they were both passed out and I tell ya...by 10:30, you couldn't have set a bomb off to wake me up!! We were suppose to go to my Mom and Dad's for a little cookout, but I was too pooped by then. But it was a great day...not as festive as we usually do...but we loved it! This just seemed to be one of those years that everyone made some "different" plans than usual. Today is the MAD rush to wash, clean and pack....

Well I am off...hopefully I will get back later for some personals...all of you have a wonderful day!! (((HUGS))) for you all!

Chris, ITA with you on the trophy/sport aspect, that really bothers me. I do agree with hunting to keep the balance though. Pretty much, around here, everyone uses their meat. We eat deer/turkey burgers or chili, etc, as often as beef. One good thing about it is, at least far as I know, they aren't taking off whole herds of deer to the slaughterhouse at once. Ugh.
And you are so right about the Natives, I respect their ways so much.

oooh! Sounds like a wonderful time! On your trip to the mtns are you staying in a hotel or cabin/condo? I've always wanted to stay in a cabin but it's never worked out. I can't wait to hear all about it :).

Love and hugs!!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday so far :). Amanda and I are going to see "My Sister's Keeper". I haven't read the book but Amanda has read it, she said the movie looks a lot lighter than the book but the end will be the same. A
tear-jerker I'm sure but it looks wonderful.

Our power came back on around 9 last night...I think probably some of the weakened trees left over from the bad icestorm we had back in January fell somewhere on the road.

I hope everyone has a fab Sunday! xoxoxoxo

let me know what you think of the movie- I heard that the ending was different than the book. The ending was very powerful after reading it. Either way it is supposed to be a great movie!

(And yeah, I am weird, I can deal with tearjerker books, movies... not at all! LOL)

Hi Girls; im back and I cant tell you how glad we are, the weekend was so stressy, and the weather crazy, the whole days sunshine and heat and some minutes later lots of heavy rain. So we were not able to go to the zoo or do anything. That was a little bit sad. Last night was horrible, Amelies fever was nearly away, but 2 hours after going to bed, she was screaming so loud wanted nothing to drink, was kicking arround and this the whole night, so Im a little bit tired. The day was much better, now she is okay, like before. Driving home was okay, no rain. But here its still so hot and Amelie again nearly naked.

I will show you here 2 pics from Amelie, the more are here at my blog.

This was saturday evening, when Amelie was so ill.

@yvonn: Amelie is nearly 6 month old, so a little bit younger than Imke

Hey ladies. :) I am relaxing a little right now while my twins nap. :) Eric and I got a babysitter for the boys so we are taking Ella to "Ice Age 3" tonight. The first 2 are 2 of her favorite movies, and I need to redeem myself from the "Up" fiasco. So, I'm excited. Plus - movie theater popcorn!!! YAY!

The weather for the fireworks last night was incredible. Just a gorgeous night. I got some great photos of the kids - I put them up on Facebook if anyone wants to peak.

I need to get some stuff figured out for next weekend - we have Jacob's and Boden's 2nd birthday party next Sunday. My sis is making a really yummy train cake for them.

Cornelia - Amelie is adorable. I love her earrings! I'm glad she is feeling better.

Chris - ITA on the hunting thing. Hunting is HUGE in our state. Huge. A giant chunk of our tourism dollars comes from out-of-state hunters coming in for pheasant season. My stepdad is a game warden/conservation officer, so he definitely sees the bad side of hunting - poachers. He also hunts and gives us a lot of venison, which we use quite a bit of. I don't hunt but I am grateful for the venison - it saves us a ton of money on meat.

Ok, I gotta go. cutting personals short. I gotta shower and straighten up and get supper going before the sitter gets here. :)

I'm baaaack! Just wanted to pop in and say hello... I have to do some laundry for tomorrow... but we're home safe and sound and the kiddos are with their grandma... the bed at the cabin sucked so I haven't slept much since Wednesday night... am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight!

I'll try to pop in tomorrow morning before my appt!

Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Awww Cornelia...Amelie is such a cutie pie :) Look at her new earrings!!! :)

Dawn - Ohhhh I wanted to read/see it! Let me know which version you like better :)

Tali - did you make it to Ice Age? Nick loved it :)

Linda - Sounds like a fabulous day can't wait to see your pics! We are thinking of taking Nick to a smaller zoo near us tomorrow I hope we can make it :)

Chris - I hope you enjoyed your BBQ and I am sorry that Gary isn't feeling so hot today :(

Well our 4th of July was fabulous! Parades...family...friends...good food!!!

It did have a bang up ending though *LOL* We went to take Nick out in our Backyard to do sparklers last night and as we were walking out and people one street over shot a bottle rocket in my yard not more then a foot from me and it went off. Well besides the fact that it scared me to death - it could have injured Nick or I. This is the third year that they have shot the fireworks directly over our house. We found a burn mark on our roof (Right above Nick's room) and a used firework in our yard last year but were weren't sure where it came from. This year Dh walked around and talked to them. We don't want to be kill joys but if they are going to shoot them off they need to be more responsible. They were nice about it and stopped shooting the bottle rockets, but this morning I found more all over my front lawn from what they did send up before we talked to them. It's such a tightly packed residential area that this is going to happen. What goes up must come down. Our neighborhood fireworks are tonight so I hope they don't shoot them off again....but if they do and they come in the yard again - I'll have to call the cops it's just getting too dangerous. I so hope they don't or at least skip the bottle rockets I hate having to take it to that level.

Today was fab.....family day and we went swimming :) Loved it!!! Hope you all had a good one!

Well....it's about 8 pm....I am about to bust...DH and I went to Mom and Dad's for dinner. They went to the market yesterday and had oodles of fresh veggies and she cooked up a storm yesterday...since we didn't make it over yesterday, she wanted us to come today....YUM...but I ate way too much!! And bless her heart, she apologized for not having a dessert!! WE DID NOT NEED ANY!! Exhaustion set in after the kids left...DH and I both layed down and took a nap!! other than that...been cleaning and washing...and scrapping in between!!

Well...lets see....

Chris...sweetie...I pray for you everyday to have healthy days and feel good again!! So glad you felt good and had a good day yesterday!! Hoping your day at your BBQ was good today!!

Dawn....Hey...I am dying to see that movie!! My step daughter and I are planning to go together!! We are staying in a hotel since we have the Little Man with us! we have stayed in a cabin a few times...we love it...you should do it when you get the chance!! quiet, no cars, no phone, can even go naked in the hot tub on the deck...no one to see!!

Cornelia...Amelie is so sweet!! Love her cute little earrings!! I am very glad she feels better today!! I hope you get some Heat Relief soon!! Try and stay cool!!

Tali...enjoy your movie!! and I LOVE movie theatre popcorn too!! I eat a whole bucket by myself (DID I JUST ADMIT THAT???? LOL), On the hunting issues...well I know most of you don't like it...but my DH is a trophy hunter. He also kills for the meat...we freeze every year.. He usually only kills one a year. He only hunts deer and turkey. I used to be opposed to it. I have come to believe that because I don't like doesn't necessarily make it wrong. He is an extreme law abiding hunter, and frowns on anyone who doesn't go by the rules. He is very cautious and not trigger happy...most seasons he only shoots once or twice the whole year. Around here, deer are so over populated that you can actually hunt in the city now!! They beg people to kill 4 per year...those stories you hear on the news about deer breaking through glass into people's houses...that happens here all the time!! Ok...enough of that!!

Sandra...glad you made it back safe and sound!! besides the horrible bed...did you enjoy you trip?? Hope so!!:D

Kat...OMG....I would be freaking out about the fireworks!! at least the neighbors understood!! I am sure you were terrified!! Hope it's all settled permanantly! Other than that..glad you had a fab 4th!! I posted zoo pics on my FB...well..if anyone is interested...here's the link to them:

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/album.php?aid=2014907&id=1202921931

WEll...have a fabulous evening to anyone who pops in!!

I will pop back in while we are gone to keep up...taking the laptop with me to have something to do at night...while I can't sleep!! LOL!!:p
