Did I ever tell you all how much I love coffee?
:coffeedrinker:

I don't know why I can't seem to sleep later than 6 a.m., no matter what I do or what time I go to bed. You'd think that after sanding a table for almost 5 hours, I would be exhausted and able to sleep in. Nope. My shoulders know that I did that much work, the rest of me...
:hahano:
The table is all prepped and ready for staining today. I was so intent on sanding that I didn't even notice the Amazon delivery guy walk up to the house with the tack cloths I ordered the day before. He was waving to get my attention but I had my headphones in and the sander running. Did not have a clue. I jumped when I turned and saw him. :D He must have thought I was off my rocker since I got very excited when I saw the package and said that it was just what I was waiting for. Of course, he had no idea what was in the package, let alone that I needed it for the project I was working on. Haha!

We had some more crazy T-storms last night, it knocked over the 7' milkweed. I really need to find out when and how to move it. It needs to be against the house and staked better if it keeps growing like it did this year. I also need to check in with my parents. They lost power in the afternoon so I need to make sure that they are good to go. They have a generator but not sure if they can run fans or not. My brother lives close so they can go there for AC.
I am off to the FP this morning and then staining the table as soon as I get back. I was going to try and get a coat done before I head out but I don't want to rush and I know I would.

Have a fab day!
xoxo

@LSlycord BTDT with the mind slipping. It's really nice that the forums save the draft posts.
That's so exciting for Syd to be doing conferences and traveling as part of her coursework. Both of my kids were supposed to be presenting at conferences in Spring 2020, but well, we all know what happened then.
Syd's got such a good head on her shoulders and I'm gonna go out on a limb to say that she'll call you when she gets stressed *wink*
We played a game on Wed, and on Thursday we watched the last 2 episodes of What We Do In the Shadows. The countdown begins, 1 more week until he moves out. That was one reason I want the table done now. The next time he is off work, we can eat together before he goes.
How was the Dr appt?

@vickyday
You "could" poly it outside and capture the yellow jackets and then add a glass top to "dry" and preserve them like flowers....voila! Instantly unique designer table! Who knows.....you may start a new trend! ;)
:lol23: That's hysterical!! My mom would never come to visit again, however. She hates all kinds of bugs.

@BrightEyes Hope the switch to the new phone went flawlessly

@taxed4ever That sounds so much fun to get out on the lake with your Gary. I hope that the weather cooperates.
Take good care of your shoulder. You don't want problems where you can't scrap. :jawdrop3: Especially since you have so many new photos. I saw you posted a couple on FB, what a gorgeous family you have.

@Cherylndesigns I am trying not to worry about Alyssa and Adrienne, but I can't help it. All I can do is send more love to everyone.xoxo

Good morning ladies. It is a beautiful morning here. It is cool (68°) and sunny. I'll take a couple of hours of that any day. The doctor's visit was about what I had hoped for. I was supposed to talk to the doctor that will do the heart cath and then, he would also do the TAVR if that is the way they decide to go. However, after we drove through a terrible rain storm to get there (Brian was driving so that was nice), the doctor had been called into an emergency. So I saw my regular nurse practitioner saw me instead and talked me through next steps. On Wednesday I go back and see the cardiac surgeon. He will talk through the options...the TAVR vs the minimally invasive (which would go through the ribs on my side and wouldn't require me to be on a bypass machine or crack my chest open) or the actual open heart surgery. Anyhow, the results of the heart cath will give them the direction to go. I'm ready to get it over with.

Today the guy who did our landscaping is coming over and we are going to talk about getting mulch around all of the bushes along the back fence line. Other than that, not much going on. I think that I will scrap!

@faerywings 1 more week? Wow! You are doing great! Is their apartment furnished already? Sounds like dinner was a great success and I am so impressed with what you are accomplishing with the table. I sure hope that you got pictures for a future layout! And, yes, I'm pretty sure that Syd will call when she gets stressed.

@Cherylndesigns thinking of you and sending :grouphugyay: to you and your family for the weekend. I'm glad that you are there to keep the other dogs.

@vickyday we definitely need to try to meet up in Raleigh sometime. That would be so much fun! I hope that Mark is hanging in there with the Ozempic.

@BrightEyes sounds like the phone transfer was a success. Hope that you are getting used to it!

@taxed4ever I am sooo happy that the deep tissue massage helped! I need to get another one. And yes, the reason that my post looked so funny is that I had saved it without posting.

Have a good day ladies! I need to go talk to @faerywings about my favorite books! :heartpumplove:

Morning, all.
As far as the phone transfer went, it was done when I looked at it before I left the house yesterday morning. And I used my landline to call the new cell phone and it worked. So that was the good news - I didn't have to go over to the TM store to get the number transfer done.. Now... as far as getting used to it is concerned... :hahano: I couldn't even figure out how to turn it on!!!! Finally got that. Couldn't locate the camera button... turns out I just need to 'shake' the phone twice! :jawdrop3: But not sure how to get it to take a photo. There isn't a manual or guide with the phone... so went on-line on my computer to find one and downloaded all 167 pages of it!!! No, I didn't print it out... can look it on the computer. DD#3 is off all next week so am going to have her show me how to do things on it... her hubby has the 2022 version of the same phone. I do better with a 'show and tell' and then can read the manual if I can't remember how to do it.

And, speaking of printing things out... I was printing out pages about the TMobil contract and the paper kept hanging up... grrr...
Discovered that if I don't pull out the printed paper tray, the paper hangs up on the back corner of the tray!!! Since I moved the printer down onto the desktop to make scanning photos in easier, there isn't much space so I stopped pulling the tray out. :goofing::goofing:

I managed to download the Smith's (grocery store) apt to the phone. Tried to link it to my Smith's card and discovered that the cell phone is linked to one email and the card is linked to another email. Grrrrr!!! Since I needed some groceries, I went to Smith's and got new card. Turns out I need to turn in the info for that card there at the store... can't do it online at home. But I can transfer the points from the old card to the new card.

Decided at that point, I needed to take a break, relax and read for awhile. The good news for the day was my BP stayed in the normal range all day and into the evening - even with all the frustration during the day. I also got a call (on the landline thank goodness) from a dear friend. She was checking to see how I was doing. She is going through some of the same things with her hubby that my hubby went through due to strokes/TIAs. It was good for her to be able to vent some and know that what she is feeling is normal. The call did both of us a lot of good.

@faerywings Had to LOL over you not hearing the delivery guy arrive since you had headphones on and sander going!!! I would have jumped, too!

@LSlycord I have forgotten to hit 'post' and come back the next day and found it. So glad the post gets saved as a draft.
Sending you love and healing as you got through whatever procedure the doctors decide upon. Hoping it will be a less invasive procedure... but am sure they will decide which one is best for you. :hug3:

@Cherylndesigns Sending love to you and the family as you deal with Marley. It is good that there is a Loving Laps nearby and they can help the family during this sad time.

@taxed4ever Glad the deep massage made you feel much better. Sympathy over your wrist... and yes, a rotator cuff could be causing part of the problem. Trying to do computer things with a wrist brace on is difficult.

Hi Lovies,

Hope everyone is well. It's a little cooler here - down in the lower 80's. We had some rain but we need so much that it barely made a dent. We're holding steady here at the compound. Marley is still chugging along - maybe we're going to get our miracle; we can only hope. Ava and Alyssa took her out to get her a pup-achino and her peanut butter cups at Tropical Smootie and Starbuck's. They took her to Petco and got her a "Happy Woof-day" doggie cookie. Her bd was the 4th, same day as Ava's. I'm sure she loving all of the attention she's getting. They're spoiling her rotten and even giving her cheeseburgers, which they never did before. Roger stopped and got her her first cheeseburger on the way home from the vet's the night they brought her home.

Alyssa has taken over doggie medication - I think I told you she has to take ten pills twice a day. Some of them have to be compounded, mixed with liquid, then sit for half an hour before she can put it in the syringe. It's quite a process. My brain is so mushed that I can't remember where I posted what. Alyssa has given up going to the gym and took a leave from work, where she makes lots of tips, to take care of Marley. She'll have to go to school next week, but she only goes half days. She has really stepped up to the plate.

Love to everybody and hopefully I'll be able to be normal by next week. Chuck would say at this point that I've never been normal. :floorlaugh:

Hi ladies. I've been very busy this past week, showing the house, making preparations before heading to Calgary, we leave first thing in the morning for the week. We'll hopefully find a house we like and will put in an offer. We have an offer for our home, pending the sale of their condo (that is how they do it out here now, most people don't sell their home before buying another like they used to do it, they play it safe). So we go to Calgary and do the same thing. It means that we don't quite know the move out date yet and there is a chance they won't sell but at their price point they should, with a tentative move out date of mid Nov. That means warp speed packing as we'll be away for 2.5 wks on the cruise. Even if the date gets moved to Dec 1 that is ok with us as long as the home we purchase can be held til then. I believe it will all work out.

I'll have my ipad so may check in to say hi at some point while I'm out there. I'm excited to explore Calgary and the burbs. I haven't had a chance to read the dailies but hope all is well. Talk soon. BFN

Good morning, my lovely O-Fam. How was your Saturday?
I didn't do much and did a lot at the same time. Schroedinger's Weekend, perhaps. *G*

Most of my day was spent working on the table. There's three nice coats of stain on it and it's ready for the Poly today. Cait and I went to the FP together and it wasn't as crowded as it was last time. They had ice cream and Italian ice this week, pretty cool! We asked for some of the ices so Tom could eat them. He and Cait are cooking dinner for us tonight. Th recipe is from the cookbook she got him for his b-day, the one that has vegan meals to match horror movies. They are making spicy funnel cake beyond burgers and are watching Killer Clowns from Outer Space. It should be good, ridiculous fun.

I finished a LO for the New Moon AJ challenge and @Cherylndesigns gave me a Standing O for it. Thank you so much!!

My mom is popping up sometime today. She has Tom's b-day gift and is lending me her suitcase for the trip. Mine is ancient and the wheels are busted. It's fine for going to PA but not for the shore. Our room is on the 3rd floor and my mom won't/can't (phobic) take the elevator so I am in charge of the luggage. The last thing I want to do is drag that beaten-up thing along with everything else I need to carry. I can't believe it is next week and there is a hurricane potentially coming our way. Honestly-- I shouldn't be surprised, it happens a lot. All I can do is hope for the best.

HAGD!!

@LSlycord That must have been disappointing to not be able to talk the to cath specialist himself. When will you get the cath done? I don't blame you for feeling impatient, all of the "hurry up and wait" has to be a PITA and unnerving at the same time.
Scott's house isn't furnished and he is bringing a few things from here and Sam has a few things too. He ordered a small desk which was delivered the other day. He's bringing his bed and a small sofa that's in his room now. My family has been offering "stuff" to him non-stop (usually through me) but he doesn't know what he needs or what will fit just yet.
Yup, so far so good with missing him but I think it will hit me in odd places. This morning as I was working on my grocery order online, I saw some things he bought for camping linked to my PricePlus card. Every time I see them, it's gonna make me sad, at least for a little while, isn't it?

@BrightEyes :giggle4: at not knowing how to use the new phone. And the lack of a user's manual. LOL! I went through that when I was with my parents last week. Your DD will be a big help in showing you how to actually do things. My kids help me all of the time (which I promptly forget as soon as they do)
That's a relief that your BP is back to normal. And that it stayed that way after all of the phone confusion and frustration!

@Cherylndesigns You and your family are the best, love how you are all stepping up for Marley and for each other. And the cheeseburgers! She must be enjoying that part the most. Sending BIG hugs to everyone.
Tel lChcuk that agree, you have never been normal. :devil2:

@bcgal00 That's fantastic news!!!!! So many good luck vibes for the houses for everyone! (It is like one huge, very expensive, and complex domino chain isn't it???)
have a nice time in Calgary and I hope there the *the* house waiting for you!

Back to waking up too early... 4 AM but stayed in bed until 5 AM. Up and dressed already as DD#3 will be coming over this morning to help me with the new cell phone. I don't feel too bad as she said it took her a few days to learn how to do the basics on her cell phone. As she said... the new cell phones are small computers and have in's and out's that you have to learn where they are and how to use them.

Well, I spoke too soon about the BP... it was low again last evening!!! You would think with all the stress over the new cell phone, it would have been high! << sigh >> Hope it settles down before I see the primary care doctor next week.

@faerywings So glad you got most of the work done on the table. Yes, when each of our kids moved out, we helped with having them take some furniture and other stuff. Great buy at FP... glad that Chris went with you.

@bcgal00 Keeping my fingers crossed that the sale on the house goes through and you find one you like in Calgary.

Good morning ladies! Yesterday was pretty slow going. Which was good. I'm doing a lot of research on home builders in Iowa who will go to the lake to build. I do wonder what we have gotten ourselves into...but I wonder that a lot no matter what. ;)

@bcgal00 Rae, I am so excited that you got an offer on your house! What great news! Enjoy your exploration of Calgary!

@faerywings I was just checking Hurricane Lee's forecast. What I am seeing now is that they think it may turn before it gets to the U.S. My fingers are crossed for you. Some luggage will be good if you are walking up to the 3rd floor. And wise plan by Scott and Sam to wait until they get moved in to figure out what they might need!

@BrightEyes I am so sorry that the BP is still giving you fits. But glad that your daughter is coming over and can help with the phone.

@Cherylndesigns I'm glad that Adrienne isn't having to deal with all of Marley's meds on top of everything else. Good for Alyssa for stepping up!

@vickyday hope that Mark is hanging in there with the Ozempic!

Morning ladies... I was MIA yesterday, but that's nothing new right?! We had a lovely day together yesterday and spent the morning relaxing on the upper front deck with our coffee. We got out on the lake for a paddle for about an hour or so and then spent the afternoon at our fav winery "Enrico". There was live music and wonderful wine and the sun was shining! The temps were perfect, not too hot and not chilly :lovey3: . We decided to go out for dinner and went to the nearby golf course "Arbutus Ridge" We enjoyed a great supper with lovely views outside on the wrap around deck. It was a perfect day, however no work got done at all so we will be busy doing all that today. Ohh and my nephew and his girlfriend are in the hospital as I type she is having a C section, so my Gary's youngest sister should be a grandma very soon. Hubby wants me to join him on the deck downstairs for a coffee so I will return later to do personals. See you soon!

Good afternoon everyone!
I've been pretty much MIA this weekend as I've been busy with family. I think I mentioned that my 3rd child turned 40 on Saturday and her DH surprised her with a party. My oldest brought her children down from Ohio to help celebrate. While I took care of getting Elisabeth out of the house, Jessica helped Brad get the decorations and food ready. Then we gals went shopping in the afternoon and the guys watched football. After we got home we ordered pizza for supper. We headed home around 9. It was a good day.
Today we all went to church together then back to Elisabeth's for lunch. Jessica left for Ohio around 1:30 and Mark and I came home. We were all worn out and ready to crash. I hated Jessica was looking at a 6 1/2 hours drive to home.
Such a good weekend! Did my momma's heart good!
Time to add some of the photos to my monthly review spread. The left side is already full!
Have a great afternoon!

Thanks so much, Chris. We all rally round whoever needs it human/animal. Marley is being totally spoiled and she's loving it. I'll tell Chuck that you agree with him. I tell ya what, if I WAS normal, I'd have been in the loony bin a long time ago. Linda, Alyssa has REALLY stepped up to the plate. The main reason they got another dog was because Marley was supposed to be HER dog. You know how that goes - up until now, they could hardly get her to feed "her" dog or let her out. She has totally stepped up her game and I think it's been wonderful. :brokenheart::beatingheart::heartpumppink:
