Just a super quick note to say good morning!

I have to be out of here a little after 7 and have a bunch of stuff to do before then. I made an utter mess of my kitchen brewing the foraged tea last night. I should be nice and clean it up before I go. If not, I am positive it will be waiting for me when I get home :giggle4:
The County is expecting a large turnout for the hike and other activities. 100 people registered for the hike itself and anyone can come to the non-hiking portion of the day. The purpose of the day is to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. Even though I am not doing a forest bathing session, I made up some flyers to promote the upcoming sessions and Nature Retreat.

It should be fun :)

Wishing all of you a fantastic day!

Hugs!

@faerywings Happy Weekend and it sounds like it will be a happy one for you as you will be in your happy place work. I haven't been here in awhile but will try to catch up today. Have a great day everyone.

Not a happy camper. DD#3 took me to Urgent Care yesterday. I have Covid!!! And because she was with me... she has been exposed and has to stay in quarantine at my house. The doctor did not want me to be alone until I am over it.

@BrightEyes I hope your illness goes easily and passes quickly! There is so much Covid going around now; I’m hearing from people all over getting it. I imagine school starting up gave it a big push into the population in general. I want to get my booster, which is due in September, but in Virginia they don’t have it at pharmacies yet, as far as I can tell. I’m hoping by the end of the month. It is infuriating.

Oh no @BrightEyes I'm so sorry you have Covid...ugh that is just horrible. Now you get some more time with your daughter sadly not the best circumstances. Feel better real soon.

Well I have been really busy with friends but things have settled down now. Our long time friends who just had open heart surgery is doing well and wife who had a minor female surgery came home yesterday. I went to pick her up and she looked great, walked fine and was anxious to get home so that is all good. Our chat today was good and she slept better than in the hospital.

We got our seat assignments for our trip to Germany...I'm across the aisle from DD but that will be fine. I cannot believe we leave in just a little over 2 weeks. I got a new suitcase because my old one had a broken wheel so I do not want to deal with that..
The best news is that I had mitigation that is settled so no going to court over my trip and fall over the electric temporary cable across my patio. It was stressful but the mediator helped to settle in my favor. Now hopefully the power company with change their methods to prevent it happening to anyone else.

Today I worked in my flower garden but it's 90 now so I had to come in....just too hot to work in sun. We are supposed to get rain showers later so I won't have to water anything. Hubby went to work in the office at the club so I has some quiet time and nice chat with my daughter. They had a good time at Cape Cod and the old house closing went well so they are happy. Now she is packing and making arrangements for our trip to Germany.

I'm wearing sneakers today trying to get used to that for Germany, it is really hard when I always wear flip flops or sandals....

I made flyers for the craft show being held at the club in Oct. I will be helping with it again this year.

Have a great rest of the day.

I would love to visit Germany someday...especially since my maiden name is Brandenburg! ;)

Good afternoon,
Mark and I have both been struggling with headaches this week. Mine is not as bad at the moment and his is better also. My IBS flare is hanging on. This, too, shall pass...eventually.
Have a good day.

@vickyday My grandparents on my dads side were German in fact Grandma came over at 16 by herself. On my mothers side her dad was from Germany. We lived there 1973 to 1976 when hubby was stationed there. Our son was born in Nuremberg Army Hospital. Sadly we are not going to the part of Germany where we lived but to an area we traveled to so it will be interesting to see the changes in 50 years.

I hope you are feeling better. Lingering headaches are terrible and if both of you have them that is horrible, allergies??? and IBS...enough is enough!

I have no plans for today. Wow, this never happens. I think I will read but I figure something will happen so my day will change.
We got a new smoker yesterday so today Jay will smoke a turkey breast and some chicken so may have some friends over so then I will have stuff to do. Last night when we talked about it he wasn't sure if he was going to invite friends over or not.

So long for now.

Good morning, my friends!

I can't stop yawning! It was a long day yesterday- I woke up at 4 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I had my alarm set for 5 and I was running non-stop much of the day. I am so very grateful that Gary was able to help me set my table and canopy up. I could not have done it without him.
Because it was a Community Support Program, the organizers had each of the "Vendor Village" tables hand out raffle tickets to anyone who interacted with them. It was such a neat way to incentivize the attendees to see what each group/organization/etc had to offer. I was able to talk about our upcoming Forest Bathing and Meditation walks, plus the Nov. Nature Wellness retreat. There were so many people on the hike. I asked Scott, who was leading the hike, how many people he thought there were. He laughed-- said he had no idea, he was too scared to look behind him and see. LOL

There was an Opening Ceremony with a few speakers before the hike began. The main speaker was this incredible young lady who had been suicidal and was able to get help and resources through the non-profit that was hosting the event. She is now going for her MSW to help other abused kids. Her speech had me close to tears. When she stopped at my table, I had to tell her how moved I was and that she is going to be great working with kids. ♥

The rain held off until I got home, which was a huge plus!

I am going to finish up some housework and laundry this morning. I am getting my flu and covid vaccines this morning, which I know are going to kick my butt so I want to get as much done as I can before I can't. Dropping off all of the stuff back at Weis on my way home and that will be that. *wipes hands clean*

Wishing you a fantastic day!

Oh, Kay, that is terrible news. I am not glad that DD #3 was exposed but I am glad and relieved that she will be there with you. Hugs!!

Yeah, that is why I jumped at today's appointment with Moderna, even though I react worse to that over the Pfizer one. I hope that you can get one soon- and if not in VA, maybe MD is an option :(

That's awesome! So glad that it didn't get dragged out.
LOL-ing at the flip-flops vs sneakers adjustment. I'm the other way around. Hahaha!
