DD can't find cat food (not even kibble) and we order ours and the price went up 2 1/2 times when we re-ordered! Cat food?????

I haven't heard from her, there was a post on another board, but she didn't say much. I think it was mainly replies. I haven't checked FB.

We spent the evening at Meli's new friend's house. Her father is engaged to be married to a woman who just emigrated from Ukraine and it was a little difficult to communicate, but it started to get easier as the night went on. We downloaded Google Translate and we spoke into it and then she read our responses, and vice versa. It was really interesting to get a bird's eye view into what is going on there. Her mother and brother are still in Ukraine. Her brother wanted to come with her, but no men are allowed to leave. They must be available to fight. Her Mom won't leave until her brother can come with her.

Today we will do Mass and then family game day and brunch. My SIL (who is notorious for being up to an hour late or never shows) is making a pot roast for all of us. I sure hope that Dad has munchies at the house, because I fear dinner will be late. We had made a pact that she would never be the main course, but she got to Dad before we did and he told her "Sure - I love Pot Roast!!" Ugh! Her grown kids will be there too, and it will be a bit uncomfortable as they are exact opposites of Dad, SIL, and I certain things are concerned, and they ALWAYS throw some kind of fit if ANYTHING is mentioned that they don't agree with. Then they get all huffy and leave or say "This is EXACTLY WHY we never come to family functions!!!!" I will never understand how people just can't leave it alone and enjoy their loved ones for who they are. I can totally see if someone is doing something dangerous or hurtful, but just HOLDING a belief you disagree with?? Gah!!

I have been researching diamonds online for the past week and I have found a few that will work for us if the jeweler doesn't come in with a reasonably priced lab grown diamond. I know that they upsell, so I sent the lady I'm working with diamonds that I can buy this minute online and get it by Tuesday with the price I'm "expecting". We'll see if she comes anywhere close to the price and diamonds I found. I really just want to do it all with her in the store as I can see the diamond in person before I buy. I have to make sure to get a clear (at least to the eye) diamond because if I go for "less" color quality, the yellow will show up more as my setting is yellow gold.

I don't know about where you are, but allergies right now are kicking my butt. My eyes and nose are running, and I'm even coughing! I can usually get away with no meds, but I'm taking antihistamines like candy!

@Lynn Grieveson Just remind yourself how much beauty you will see and fun you will have traveling. Visiting loved ones is such a great thing!!

@Cherylndesigns I look forward to seeing your photos of your rug and front yard, and all those fun pool photos I'm sure are going to come!

@Amandajk That is heartbreaking about your sister!!! How far away is Ohio from where you are? Does she realize that she needs more care? I don't think I could handle that situation without losing my cool with her husband - the person that is supposed to love and care for her more than anyone!! Is there anyway you can move her closer to you? Would she even entertain the thought?

Good morning, all.

We're a chatty bunch, aren't we? Hahaha. I'm just going to post here and hope I answer all the questions. They're working up on the pool today - Roger never stops. I'm hoping that there WILL be a pool party today. They didn't get to swim yesterday because he wants to get all of the dirt cleaned up before everybody tracks it into the pool. Today will be busy though because of Ava's bd. I don't think the festivities will start until later on this afternoon or early evening.

Linda @LSlycord here's a picture from last night. Adrienne has 5 children - there are 4 of them in this picture. - my oldest GS still lives in FL. We laugh that we're never all in the same place at the same time. Then, not to confuse you, my youngest DD has 1 son (Asher). I remember MY mom saying that - no matter how we planned family reunions, somebody wasn't there. We all lived in different states and getting everybody together was so hard. Now, I know. (Left to right) Braden, Ava, Jordan and Alyssa.



Here are a couple of pictures I took of my clean porch. I'm not done decorating it yet, I need to get all my fall stuff from Adrienne's.





I'm going to try to pop back in. I need to see what's going on up at the house with the crew. I need to tweak Ava's bd bag - I had it all ready to go, then bought her a couple more things yesterday. Chris @faerywings I'll tell her that Aunt Chris says, "Happy Birthday".

I'm right there with you girl! Of course, this HAD to ge the year that all of hundreds of tomatoes died from the horrid heat we had! We were expecting a bumper crop and didn't get it. I MIGHT have to take up canning again. We're planning on getting a family garden in by next year!

Weather Alert from NJ: Current conditions are cloudy, with a chance of rain later in the day. please oh please!
We might even get some rain Mon and Tues. Sorry to the people who are having Labor Day picnics.

I spent much of my day yesterday wandering about- in the house, outside, online. In my mind. That is the scariest place to be sometimes hehe. But I got through yesterday and will make it through today as well. My day today is most likely going to be similar to yesterday. Scott didn't make it home until dinner time and all he had time for was to take a shower, get some coffee and head back out for the nighttime candle lighting memorial. Tom and Cait are going to the Philly Zoo today and will be home tomorrow, I hope they don't get rained out. (Just let it rain up here, please!)

To Do List: Scrap, do laundry, make my menu and schedule for the week.
