Oi know, i am late this morning. Part of it is b/c I slept late-- 7am! then Caitlyn came down for coffee and we went back to hang out with her rats. Muffin was climbing on my shoulder and got totally tangled in my hair. I had it on top of my head in bun that was all falling apart after sleeping on it. She was stuck climbing through and when she tried to back her self out, her poor little hands got more tangled and stuck. Cait and I were laughing our butts off.

The rest of the morning has consisted of me trying to start one project or complete a thought, but getting myself distracted. But here I am for a few minutes before I run off to do whatever compels me next.

Caitlyn and I had so much fun on out walk. We started out at the Botanical Gardens but we hadn't gotten very far when a park employee said that dogs weren't allowed. we were sort of bummed and we know we have seen dogs there before, esp when we were there for yoga, we would hear their tags jingle.

He said that we could stay as long as I kept her on the road, but I know that Cait would want to be in the gardens. So we hopped in the car and went a bit down the road to Ringwood Manor, another state park that does allow dogs. Jaida was so excited that she couldn't walk in a straight line. Back and forth, non-stop sniffing everything that she could get too. Caitlyn got some neat pictures of the gardens there as well as a lot of the gravestones. The family cemetery plot is there and you can see all of the old and crumbling gravestones. next time we go, we are goign to bring paper and crayons to try some rubbings.

We got slightly lost and ended up hiking ~3 miles. I don't know who was more pooped out, me or Jaida. She held up great though, and her leg wasn't bother her at all when we went for out walk this morning.

No ideas of what else I am going to do today. Its is going to be rainy the next few days so i think i am going to start collecting my morning glory seeds.

have a great one!!
xoxo

Super duper quick personals-

Trudy- :( I am so sorry that you are still having so many sleep issues. Cait is in that cycle now too. I don't know what i would do without my Rx Sleep meds. I am sure there will be some level of withdrawal when/if I ever come off of them, but if not for them- I don't think I would get a good night's sleep. cait takes melatonin but that isn't even helping her.
No idea what will happen to any of of health services if Trump gets elected. Won't matter much since he'll be so busy getting into Twitter wars, and then move onto more on the ground wars. We have such a messed up heath insurance system. He has Medicare right now which is for people who are over 65, or disabled. Medicaid is for people who are at or certain percentage slightly over the poverty line. Caitlyn has SCHIP which is like Medicaid but for kids, federally funded but run by each state. Scott and I have Obamacare which is fantastic, even if flawed on a lot of levels. Then of course there is private insurance, which most people will get from their employer if you are lucky enough to work FT and be offered it.
Ooops- left out VA insurance for our Vets.
Anyway, it is so ridiculous that it is difficult to keep any of it straight and each type requires different levels of income/assets.
Glad that you got to see your brother, I bet that cheered him up.

nancy- How crazy is that, the University locking professors out? When does the school year start, Tuesday? what do the students do? I bet they are
The Open games sound fun for you.

rae- hope you had good luck with the crossing, and that you are relaxing and scrapping! Thanks for keeping an eye out on Pinterest ideas for me :)

Kat- no full moon- new moon was Thursday. So just a crazy day before the weekend. How is the weather by you? Hope you are far enough in or on high enough ground to not have to worry about the rain/winds.
eye surgery creeps me out!!!! Eyes in general creep me out but thinking about .... nope not going there. :lalala:
Weather yesterday was perfect, it wasn't until the last bit of it when we couldn't find the car and had to cross a big field that it seemed to get hot.

love to all!

Morning ladies... just quickly popping in to say hey and hope that you all have a great weekend! I can't stay long as I need to get going and get on the road to visit our son and his family. Looking forward to seeing the kids again! We will be back before the long weekend is over as DH wants to get some more of the house painted. Ok gotta go and get things packed. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Good morning and happy Sunday! Everyone is really quiet so I hope that you are enjoying the weekend!

Yesterday was such an odd day. I got some stuff done, including getting up in the attic to give my mom stuff for the garage sale that she is doing this weekend. I started collecting the morning glory seeds, which is sad since it is an Autumn thing. You know me, I want every last inch of summer that I can hold on to. Leah was here and we had b-fast for dinner (YUM!!!) and played a couple of games after dinner. Cait was "teaching" us this card game Mau (??) that has rules but know one knows them except the dealer. I was absolutely terrible at it. Having no short term memory (ok I do have some short term memory but Lyme brain makes is harder to hold on to info), I could not remember what worked and what was wrong, But it was fun, and that is what mattered. I can' t tell you the last time we played games here after dinner.

My parents are coming up with bagels this morning and then I am making my Faery-Wings tattoo salve and wash. Much better than then the commercial stuff or A&D. I can't believe that it is coming up so soon. Cait is beyond excited. She was showing me some pics of tattoos her friends have gotten/done to themselves this morning, and I made her promise to never do that. She was like-- WTH, how did you raise me? hahah! She said that she even had a moment where she second guessed herself about this one, which is *good*- it is still a permanent thing, and should be thought carefully about.

As for me, I love having another symbol of our bond. I have said to both kids since they were tiny- not so much anymore b/c they jokingly roll their eyes at me- that my favorite part of their body is their belly button b/c it is a symbol of when we were literally attached.

Do I get the award for Corniest Mom Ever? :pound:

That is about it here, hugs, love, and happy day to all!

good Sunday morning - yesterday was fun in strange ways. My son called and we met him his wife and their two dogs at a local park. Well the dogs their dogs are very small less that 15 lbs and were a bit intimidated by Luther and so as we walked every time Luther stopped to wait my DIL stopped her dogs and so as far as I was concerned she was just teaching them that Luther was bad but no talking to them they know best LOL. Then my DH allow Luther in mud puddles and this is after all the problems we have had - it just amazes me. But at the park we saw a great blue heron and an egret fishing so that was really cool. Got home after walking 2 miles so that was really good. Then my son has a new video game called LEGO deminisions and OMgosh it is so fun. It is not a race, it is not shot and kill and you never die and you work with your 2nd player not against. I love that. And it makes you think. Love that a lot. You go through different levels and so far we have done Dr. Who, Simpsons, a Ninja world. We have many more to go. Today play the game, scrap and take Luther for a bath. Still waiting for the Hermine to bring rain and wind but so far it is off shore and day is lovely!

Chris sounds like a great day! Love that Jaida is doing so well walking. Great for going so far!

Trudy I know your visit must be going so well. Have a blast with the kids and grandkids.

Rae I see you walking with Taz!

Kat hope all is well.

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone. Just a quick fly-by post for me (I'm going to work on some ATCs for this months challenge and get my artsy-side on :) ). It's been a whirlwind past 48 hours of up's and down's here. Friday evening I get home and notice a HUGE water stain on our living room ceiling - we're talking 4.5 feet x 1 foot!!! Right above that area? The vanity and toilet in our bathroom!! RUH-ROH! Of COURSE it had to be a holiday weekend, so contractors aren't working!!! :twitch: Our home warranty folks finally found someone, so they should be out tomorrow. Once the plumbing issue is fixed, then we'll have to lodge a claim with our home owners insurance to get the ceiling drywall, bathroom floor, fixtures, whatever repaired/replaced - and oh, goodie, that has a $2,000 deductible. Oh well, we needed to upgrade the bathroom anyway. :frusty: Think they would throw in the half bath downstairs, too, at no extra cost?! ;)

So, water leak. Strike #1.

Strike #2. Airconditioning annual maintenance ... and voila! We have mold. Not just on the surface of our HVAC system, but IN the system. Mold remediation. Ugh. Fancy-dancy system being installed with UV light that will send particles throughout the ductwork to eliminate mold; lifetime warranty ... oh yeah, did I say that's another $2,000?! What?! Am I made of money or something. :yell: Oh, the joys of owning a home that's 40 years old, I guess.

Just waiting for Strike #3 to happen (although Bill's counting the blown capacitor on the A/C system from less than two weeks ago as that LOL).

Roller coaster ... down's and then up's. Got on the scale this morning and not only entered a new 'decade' with the numbers, but 20 pounds gone forever! :whoo: One step closer to where I need to be for surgery.

Cicadas are extra-noisy here today, but we don't care. Enjoying the 80-something degree weather with the windows and back patio door open.

Now, off to scrap for a bit of R&R - some ME time! ;) Might put the US Open on in the background.

Good morning ladies. It's been a good weekend so far. Spent the morning with Taz, went to the field and threw the frisbee for him. Then we went into town, got some good deals on clothes and then headed over to the casino. My hubs was almost out of his money and I was halfway thru mine and then I hit a jackpot. So I gave him some more money to keep playing and we stayed til midnight. What a fun night. I've got enough to pay our strata fees/dues at the ranch for next year, so it'll be so nice to not have to worry about that. Poor Darrell, he was playing a machine, got up and moved to the one beside it, and then the lady who sat down won the jackpot a few spins later. Got home late, watched a movie and then went to bed about 3:00 so slept in this morning and got up about an hour ago. It's going to be a lazy day today. The sun is out so I'll take Taz out for a long walk soon and then back for BBQ hotdogs for lunch. We might go home tonight and just relax at home tomorrow but we're not sure.

Chris - how fun that you played cards. We used to all the time but almost never do now.

Kat - that suck about the repairs. Our home is 40 yrs old and yes, repairs all the time. Congrats on the weight loss.

Trudy - enjoy time with the family.

Got a few things to do before heading out with Taz. Have a great day, everyone.
