I'm here which means I didn't have a heart attack or run away before we had our presentation.
:claphands2:

What a fun and informative day- the conference was amazing. It was held at a Girl Scout Campground and there were plenty of pretty spaces to be in. (Not as pretty as Weis Property but maybe I am biased LOL). Good people, good topics, good weather, and good food.

Oh, you want to know how our program went? ;)

For our first time presenting, it went really well. We had around 20-25 people attending it and that was much more than we expected. Nicole introduced mosses and lichens and how they can be used as biomonitors and pollution remediators. Then I went into teaching some lessons for "Moss Appreciation" at different ages and how to merge the lessons into more of an eco-anxiety goal. If we run this again, I would have the group actually do one of the activities rather than just talk about it.

The other programs I went to were really interesting and I came away with some ideas that I can bring to my teaching. It always amazes me how the Environmental community overlaps with itself. After our session, a young woman came up to me and asked if I had a son named Scott. Turns out, she was one of his best friends from college, along with Lauren (my "boss"). She saw that I was from Weis, last name Campbell, and based on my "mannerisms" (aka the way I talked with my hands hahaha!), figured I had to be his mom. He is going to get a kick out of that when I tell him.

I would love to do nothing today but I have to catch up on laundry and start packing for the shore. I need to write up some recaps from yesterday to present to the Trustees and do a little more prep for Homeschool adverts. There is still only one person signed up, and I think we need about 4 to run it. We will make one last push over the weekend and keep our fingers crossed.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

Leaving for Germany in a few hours. Last minute packing then off we go to the airport. I’ll pop in for a visit if I get a chance

I hope all goes well for everyone and have fun.
Have a wonderful and exciting time, take care of your hip and bring back stories and photos to share ♥

DD#3 and her 2 sons are coming over today to visit with DSon#2 (and me...:floorlaugh:). So I need to get dressed and ready for their visit.
I know that you had a fab time with everyone. I am happy to hear that you are taking it nice and slow while you recover, even though I know you must have wanted to fuss over your DS#2.
Feels like I'm whining and maybe I am. I can tell I missed my normal slow Thursday where I recover from Wednesday. I do know and am super thankful to God for the ability to move and not fall apart. The two (so far) surgeries have made a huge difference already. I'm looking forward to the next because I know it will make such a big difference.
Whine away! You let me do it all the time. You can even borrow my clean and slightly shrunk Cranky Pants. :D
So glad that you see such a big improvement after the surgeries and I am always hopeful that medical research can make incredible breakthroughs soon.

@vickyday :wow2: Look at that gorgeous deck (and dog ♥)
Good weather thoughts coming to you- I have been tracking the storms in the Atlantic and am hoping that you don't get hit by either of the ones developing so far.

Hugs!!!

Good Morning Lovely O Fam!
I hope youre all well and relaxing on this fine rainy Saturday!

based on my "mannerisms" (aka the way I talked with my hands hahaha!), figured I had to be his mom. He is going to get a kick out of that when I tell him.
This cracked me up!!! Its so funny what our kids do that they pick up from us.

Not much happening today. I will attempt to do nothing. But the floors need vacuuming and the dishes need done. But I am going to turn my back on them and try to ignore that must do this or that. Here goes my attempts LOL Might scrap some but who knows. Might just read. Might clean no no no must ignore that thought. Must sit and relax.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I decided I needed to extend my MIA to Sept 30th...
DSon#2 took an Uber to the airport this morning (it was raining when he was picked up so glad I didn't have to do the drive there and back). Still get tired quickly if I do much so that was a wise move on his part. Monday afternoon is the install on the disposal and Tuesday is a doctor's appointment. So decided it was best to extend the MIA to the end of the month as I am way behind on LOs and commenting. At least I have October's Challenge ready to go.... :yesss:

Now I need to get my shower :showering:and get dressed. Will probably take a nap after that. Changing sheets in the guest bedroom can wait several days until I am up to doing them.

Sorry I am not up to commenting of posts here... at least I have managed to read back and see your posts. Hope to be better about replying to them in October. HAGD

Unfortunately we have had too much rain so we're going to meet at church instead!

Quick in and out.
Been cooking and prepping all day for the meal at 6.
Unfortunately we've been inundated with rain the last couple of days and we have standing water and thunderstorms are threatening for later today so we made the decision to move the fellowship to the church.
We have the chicken stew and chicken dumplings cooked but I want to get to the church early to bake the Mexican Cornbread so it's hot when time to eat. We will heat up the stew and dumplings again when we get there.
Have a great weekend.

It feels like a summer-y Sunday today. My BFF invited me to her house for one last sit by the pool and catch up day but I don't have the time :crying1:. I haven't seen her in what feels like forever. Next time we do, it's going to be an all-day marathon of talking.
I have no idea where my day went yesterday - I got a lot done for work, but packing? Not even a little bit. My laundry is done at least.

My session summaries are done as well as the assessment of our workshop. In the afternoon, I went for a walk in the woods behind my house, found some berries, mushrooms, and rocks to turn into natural paints. After I took some video painting with it, I attempted-- and kinda failed-- to make a video to post on the Weis FB page. Weis uses Canva and I have never used it for videos and have only made some images with it once or twice.
I tried. It was bad but I tried. ;)

Gary is going to drive me to my parents' house first thing tomorrow morning, which means I have to be totally ready to go before dinner tonight. One thing that's a PITB about a shore trip this time of year is that the temperatures are so unpredictable. It could be 80* in the sun, but if the wind is strong by the ocean, it might feel so much colder. I have a hard enough time packing to go anywhere, but a bathing suit? Shorts? Sweater????
Help!!

I also realized that I need to clean out the fridge. If I don't do it, no one else will think to, and I very much do *not* want to come home to moldy food shoved to the back. Garbage is on Tuesdays, and we try not to put food garbage outside, even with bear cans, until the day of collection. That's going to leave an incredibly stinky fridge.

Oscraps stuff is also on my list. I am far behind on updating my Color Play links and I still have a Foxeysquirrel new release to be uploaded. (Finish first. Then- upload.)

Mawrrrrr cawfeeeeeee

so dang true! The first time Tom met me, he was astounded at how Caitlyn and I share the same mannerisms, the same way of talking, and the same energy/vibe. LOL
Now that he knows me so well, he'll tease us when we get going and mimic our hand gestures and body language.
I always knew that Cait and I shared that, I had no real idea that Scott and I did too.

Not much happening today. I will attempt to do nothing. But the floors need vacuuming and the dishes need done. But I am going to turn my back on them and try to ignore that must do this or that. So what was the verdict?? Did you sit and relax? :waiting:

Good for you, that is the smart decision to stay MIA a little longer. The O isn't going anywhere and we need you to be in top shape.♥

No pressure, no need to apologize. Just get your energy back :hug3:

Good Morning!

So what was the verdict?? Did you sit and relax? :waiting:
Don't fall over in shock! But YES I did sit and do nothing. I didn't even make dinner!! I read my book, played a game on my phone, checked in here, read, played, took the dogs outside to run, read, sat and did nothing. It was glorious.

Today will be a bit more busy as I will be doing school with my grands. Probably should make something for dinner as were running out of leftovers. Who knows. Probably wont happen. Will finish my book today and start a new one.

Off to feed the dogs. Chris I hope youre coffee cup is good and deep tomorrow so you get plenty before you leave.

Sounds like you NEED this break to the ocean! Just sitting in a chair listening to the ocean sounds wonderful and relaxing! Safe travels

Yeah, we actually had people show up who were not interested in going to the woods!

Good afternoon,
Waiting on Mark to return from transporting people home.
Not much planned but scrapping this afternoon...maybe some laundry.
The chicken stew dinner was a hit, even though we had to go with plan B and have it at church. Great turnout with some coming who weren't interested in going to the woods.
Have a great afternoon!

Morning, all... Couldn't resist scraping another Color Play bundle LO this morning. dance3 I have more stamina in the morning so managed to get this one done.
I did discover that I can use the non-disposal side of the kitchen sink if I SLOWLY pour water down the drain. That means I can rinse my hands there!! Still using paper plates/bowls but have a bunch of silverware, cooking bowls, knives, etc that need to be washed. I will do them this evening after supper. The installer will be here tomorrow afternoon so should have the sinks back to normal then!!! :yesss: Have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday noon. Will take the library book back and drop off the bills at the Post Office since I go right by both on the way to her clinic. Try to do needed errands in one outing.

WOW... October is only 3 days away!!! We have been seeing more hot air balloons in the sky lately ... The Albuquerque Balloon Festival starts on Friday and runs for 10 days. Love seeing the balloons fill the skies. Hope they come over my neighborhood so I can get some photos.... they usually do! Need to get my camera battery fully charged.
