Happy weekend everybody!
I slept much better last night so I am (slightly hehe) less cranky than yesterday. I already miss the summer. The sun just made me so happy. The animal activity is way up, the squirrels and chipmunks are very busy collecting acorns. This past week we say a ton of foxes, possums, and some extremely chonky groundhogs on the trail cam. The groundhogs crack me up, they move so --- groundhog-ly LOL We love seeing the possums, they eat ticks. And y'all know how I feel about ticks...

We had a nice visit with my parents until I made the mistake at the end when I commented on how nice they both got along, unlike when they first got here. My mom asked what I meant which then triggered a bunch of complaints from each other. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted. ;)
After that, I didn't do much of anything. I cleaned out the cabinet under the sink where the garbage/recycling bins are. That is where the mice have been hanging out. I need to put down some fresh contact paper. I wonder if I have any.

Today, Cait and I are running to the FP, I hope that they have white sandwich bread. I have two loaves in my freezer, whole wheat and honey wheat and Gary won't eat either of them.

Hugs to all of you! xoxoxo

Jean- did you get to see any neat birds? I hope that the weather was pleasant, it was nice here. yes, getting out and about is nice. I told Scott as soon as I wasn't limping, he was taking me on a hike.
I told Scott that you got the pics and I noted that the photos don't do justice of her coloring, the the rose hairs don't show up as nice as they are IRL. He was shocked to find out that she really is rose-tinged. He said it makes sense seeing that is the species that she is but he can't "see" it. Leah is trying to convince him to try color-blindness glasses but he feels that he would rather keep seeing everything as is, than feel like he is missing out when he isn't wearing the glasses. Everyone in the family is excited to see what you create!

Trudy- How is your brother doing? A nice visit? How fun for Hunter to go to the park- fresh air is a cure-all! Good job with the calendar pages- I got another LO of Christopher done the other day too! We got this!! :high5:

Cheryl- Isn't Gary super-creative??? (he is pretty darn cute too!). He makes everything out of pieces and part - aside from the skeletons he got from my SIL. One of the motors came from a robotic pool cleaner from a friend of a friend. It is wonderful (and terrible!) that everyone asks him if he needs XYZ before they throw it out. He finds uses for most of it but it really makes a mess of the basement. The wigs came from our next-door neighbor the other day. We will start getting people stopping to take pics in another week or so. The dogs are not happy about that part but Gary is very proud. We all are even though it means my house is a *disaster* ATM!!!
I adore hearing stories about the gks. I can tell they make you smile! One of my favorite photos of my dad and Caitlyn was at his 80th birthday. She has really long hair and he is almost bald. (She calls him Baldy) She was wearing platforms and was taller than him (My fam is all very short LOL) She draped her hair over his head for the shot and they are both cracking up.
I could see your grands doing something similar! :D
How fun-- going to see the houses on ATVs- you are one adventurous soul!

There we go. I have finally done it. I have scared everyone off and now I am sitting here, talking to myself. :pound:

I hope that actually means that everyone has been enjoying the weekend and getting some time outside while the weather is still decent. Gary was able to fix the oven door, the correct glass come in and he read the installation instructions so it was much easier this time around. I made banana bread and while I had mixer pulled out, I cleaned all of the counter and utensils. The FP trip was a good one too- not only did Cait and I have a blast chatting in the car, I got two packages of Entenmann's (kids were thrilled!), coffee, plus a whole/frozen chicken. I am defrosting that to cook later this week. I am always so grateful that I have this as an option.
Today I am working on the food list to be picked up on Tuesday.
Gary is working more on the Halloween set-up. He has the spotlights out for them now. He still doesn't have any super-creative ideas for the rest of the skeletons he has "left-over" and I have to wonder what is wrong with "basic?" His basic would be my super-creative haha!!!

That is all I have going on here. Perhaps I can get myself into the attic and bring some Hallloween boxes down.

Wishing everyone a truly lovely day!

I'm laughing to myself - Chris, you're cracking me up. Buehler....................Buehler....................Buehler.......................anyone?????

You now have company! I'm in here early today - geez it's not even noon yet. I've had a busy weekend so far. Cameron has been here - he just stopped by to say goodbye on his way back to the airport. We've had a great time with him.

The kids came over for dinner last night and stayed until going on 10. Actually we did carryout - Ava went and picked up food - we got it because we were too tired to cook. Haha

Funny about your mom and dad. I assume they were nagging at each other and not at you??? Glad you got to sleep in today. For some bizarre reason, my alarm on my phone went off at 8 am. Drat! Of course I turned it off and slept til 10.

That's so funny about Cait and your dad. I can totally see that picture - our goofballs have done similar things. Isn't it great to have those memories? My dad used to dress up and make us laugh - I think he started the goofball stuff.

I love riding on the ATVs. You have to hang on though - there aren't any sides on them and the terrain here is pretty rough. It's a good thing I'm strong. It's the only way you can get around on some of this property. We have an SUV and we're bumping along sometimes.

Yes, Gary is super talented!! I can't believe what he's made and how he does it! He seems like a super fun guy - just from the comments I saw on FB. I loved seeing all of his work SO much!!

My GKs are a lively bunch - always have been and still are. They used to tumble into our house - everybody trying to get to me first. Remember, there were 5 of them! They were very competitive too. Then little Asher came along - he's 9 now. He'll be an only child. The 6 of them aren't together that much, sadly, but when they are, they're tossing him in the air and down on the ground rolling around with him.

It was super fun to spend "adult time" with them. We had a lively conversation around the kitchen table last night. Chuck even stayed up past his bedtime - we were having that much fun.

Your Entenmann's and coffee sound good! I like the chocolate ones - well, I used to - I can't eat them anymore. :(

Oh, I'm attaching a picture of Cam, Ava and me from Braden's football game Thursday night. We all went and bought school hoodies. Had SO much fun!

Well, I'm here too. Yesterday I managed to get two LOs in the gallery but not energy enough to write here. Friday we had a nice outing to the nature preserve so we've got memories of nice weather from that. Today is still nice but the temps are going down from here. At the nature preserve we saw fun birds like at least four Red-breasted Nuthatches in pines close to the parking area. They are no neat, feeding, calling and not caring about us at all. There were some migrant warblers, not all identified, but including beautiful Black-throated Green Warblers. Saw a few and heard many more of several species of thrushes. DH hoped we'd see a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (its real name!!) and near the end we did find one. In the beginning soaring high we had an adult Bald Eagle, but they are pretty normal now. I'm pretty out of shape so mad use of benches along the trails, but had no other difficulties. Glad not to see many people either. Today is Sunday football with popcorn at halftime.

Chirs, sorry to leave you talking to yourself for a bit. Thinking of you as I try to hold off until Oct. 1 to put out my little crocheted pumpkins that you inspired last year. Hope you're feeling better. Guess it doesn't pay to mention bickering to your parents when they aren't, eh? Your wildlife cam sounds like such fun. I'm always interested in grandparent stories. I was not physically near either set of mine and only had a close connection to one grandfather who died when I was 12. By contrast DH lived next door to one set and not far from his other grandmother so his experience was so different from mine. Your kids are fortunate to have their cool relationship with theirs. And vice versa.

Cheryl, you too with the grands and a fun relationship. What an adventure you're having with the new place as it develops. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Hoping everyone is fine.

Hi - I have been absent since I have been in a funk. I would not say depressed but just not finding the same enjoyment. But I am enjoying all my sports. The TdF ended with a surprise winner so that was exciting for the winner but very sad for the rider who had been in the lead for so long. Hockey is still going on. The last two games have ended in OT so late nights. My kids are great and happy so no problems there. I still am gettin out on my walks, still wearing masks and Luther is so happy with the cooler weather. I have found a joy in finding new songs by watching Virgin River, Roswell, New Mexico and Beauty and the Beast. Shazam since I updated has made it so easy to make playlists. I had forgotten just how much I love to listen to music and this has given me so really new songs I would never find on my own.

Chris glad you are seeing so many different animals - that is so cool. Love all the Halloween props done by Gary.

Cheryl sounds like all is going well and you are settling in. So happy for you.

Jean I am seeing that the Browns are now 2-1 so that has to be fun. I guess soon it will be baseball playoffs. Are you seeing migrating birds? The geese are definitely heading south. And I saw a red-tail just sitting on a stump so I guess they are moving south too.

Have a great day all!

Hello Jean and Nancy.

Jean, your outing sounds lovely. DH loves birds and sits in the kitchen and watches the birds in the wildflowers behind the house. He gets up earlier than me and tells me what he's seen. How nice that you have access to that. Our temperature has dipped too - it's down from 80 degrees to 50 tonight.

Glad you enjoyed the picture. I'm sure enjoying my grands. Cameron went back to Florida today, but Ava and Braden came over tonight to hang out with us.

Nancy, sorry you aren't feeling well, emotionally. Funks are no fun to get into - hope it doesn't hang around too long. Sending you a big hug.
