I'll be quick, as I want to finish up a page I started yesterday and then get dressed and get out of here. We are going to bring Taz to the pet store, go to Walmart to get the WaterPik and get some groceries. I was hoping to go out to Granville Island for a photo walk but this cold is taking a bit longer to clear up and my energy level is still low, so I'll stay closer to home today and get chores done but also find time to rest up.

Last night we watched the 1990 movie "It" which had a 6.9 rating which is hard to believe b/c it was so bad LOL. The acting, the special effects, the scare factor....so hokey. Hard to believe we thought it was a good scary show back then :) It was fun to re-watch this and now will enjoy comparing the new movie (we go tomorrow to see it) with the old. We had also forgotten how many known stars there were in this movie too. I enjoyed watching John Ritter especially.

Tonight I'll be relaxing and watching the PVR and maybe take a nap at some point throughout the afternoon/evening. The more rest I can get the better to kick this bug out of me. I do feel like I'm on the mend so hope that continues.

Chris - hope you have fun today.

Everyone else - hope its a great day for you.

I'm going to go finish my page, get dressed and go run our errands.

I am here probably for a limited time. My daughter and her hubby are living here along with our older daughter. Space is limited and we are very crammed in, boxes everywhere...ARRRG

Good morning girls,
after much tea and honey I feel much better today. Yesterday I finally watched "A Street Cat Named Bob" and like usual book is better than the movie. I can imagine how disappointed is been his real ex girlfriend (also recovery from drug addiction), when he is accept into the movie to be replaced from this sweet activist girl. I hate when movie business sweeten the stories this way, it's so unrealistic!!! Good part is that in movie the rat survive. It's nice. But again, this book is so powerful because was written so honestly, why he is agree movie to be so softening?! I don't mind fairytales, but also believe that the real stories are more powerful when we watch them honestly presented. Because of the cold I didn't do many more things yesterday.

Trudy, yes, we are cross posted last time. How awesome that everyone will be together for Christmas! Fingers crossed for good weather and no fly cancellations or changes! Travelings are always so stressful.

Rae, I hope your cold is much better too. Obviously is this time of the year. Hope the weekend rest to helped! Good luck with the shopping!

Sharon, actually this sounds very cosy and fun to me, all to be together.

Chris, Jean and Nancy, have a fun weekend!

Hope all to have a lovely weekend and can to enjoy the autumn in her warm side!

Thank you for starting this Rae! I had the web page open for hours, thinking that I would be able to get to it.
We were able to get everything done that we needed to before everyone arrived, but as always by the skin of my teeth. Finished up some cooking and cleaning, moved some furniture around to make it easier for Leah's grandma to get around in case she needed her walker. Dealt with the pups and flipped out for not having anything to wear. Thank goodness that Cait doesn't mind me raiding her closet and stealing some of her makeup. I guess since she has stolen a pair of my boots that I loved we are even, hahaha!!

The party was nice and I think that I got to talk to just about everyone. BFF and her DH and my nephew came too, I was so happy to see them. Christopher was off and running, upstairs with Cait and the rats, or playing Gary's keyboard. I think I stole a couple of hugs. I also was able to speak with Leah's grandma a bit. Leah was so worried that she would say something inappropriate or what might be considered rude, but she was very sweet. We know that she won't approve of Leah and Scott getting married since Scott isn't Jewish so we played down their relationship but it was nice to meet her and I hope that she felt welcomed. She talked a bit about how her family is small since she lost so many during the Holocaust which is, of course, sobering, to say the least. But she seemed happy that Leah and Arlene have a large family to be part of. (I think!)

Everyone fell in love with Whisky and she was very well behaved. BFF is a total sucker for dog kisses and was happy to get tons of them from her. Whisky was doing a lot of begging when we were eating but that will work itself out as we continue to train her. She ended up being a bit overactive and wanted to chase with Jaida and her incision was a bit red and swollen at the end of the day. It is much better this morning and today she will spend more time in her crate.

Today I am going to finish cleaning up and I *have to have to have to* buckle down and get my Cheery O work done. I am so far behind I think I am back in 2016. Which honestly, doesn't sound so bad right now. :pound:

Hugs, love, peace, and joy to all!

Rae- I remember reading It when I was in HS and it was freaky! I don't think that I saw the movie, or if I did, I don't remember it. But we had the same experience when we rewatched The Exorcist with Scott and Cait. They were like-- this is supposed to be scary? heh.
I hope that you are feeling much better by now.

Hi, Sharon! How have you been or is that a silly question as your house is packed full?

felis- I can't stand it when animals die in movies. We check the website DoesTheDogDie.com before we watch anything now. The last thing I need is to sob and sob like have in countless movies.
Hoping that you are feeling better today too. Tea with honey is a good thing for colds.

good late morning - Luther walked and now getting his bath. Watching football but it took a while as it is streaming on Yahoo and I had to get to that but it was working but it did finally and now via my apple TV it is on my big tv. And because my chair is so awesome it is also making sure my iPad stays charged. The hockey game was awesome last night. My Devils defeated the Rangers 2-1. It was a fun game. Fast paced twice though the Rangers took penalties for high hits on my players and another of my Devils went in and stuck up for the guys on the ground. One player was given a match penalty. My young players are doing well so that makes me very happy. But I do realize that this is preseason and things change when the games matter. No more home preseason games so now I wait until Oct 7 our home opener. Luckily there is still hockey on tv. Still a defeat against the Rangers is always fun as so many of their fans fill our arena. Today we had an early dinner to celebrate with girlfriends newest grand child. I have been thinking about a baby gift and man I just have no idea so I am going for books. On Friday I went up to my son's ILs and Celeste and I put together our first family vacation. So it will be a big group, eight of us. Celeste and her DH have been to Alaska as have my DH and I but for both it was years ago so now we are bringing the kids and my sister. So we got 4 balcony rooms for a cruise and land tour of Alaska. It is in Aug so we have months yet. My youngest son why not go in March thinking it will be to hot in Aug but I explained we will be far north. Made me laugh. Everyone seems excited so that is good. And both Celeste and I agree that we do not have to do everything as a group. That is exactly how we feel. Maybe breakfast and dinner and then we can do what ever excursions we want.

Chris so glad that the day went so well. I am sure that you made Leah's grandmother feel super welcome. Glad that Whiskey had such a good time. Have you decided on a new name yet? Hope the clean up is not too tiring. You need some rest today! Can you believe our warm weather. It was 90 in my town yesterday and should be today. We have the AC on which I think is crazy. But Luther seems to need it.

Trudy that is so good that you got plane reservations and they get to come back for the holidays! Super fun for you and them!

Rae hope you are feeling better and yes rest is the best get to over a cold. Sounds like you are making progress!

felis I always think the books are better but sometimes if the producers of the books really care they can make the show equal and better in some places. I watch Outlander and they have done such an amazing job in taking the books to a series. yes they are different but it never in the places that really matter and the actors are so good.

Sharon your house is fun and to be under construction. Wow. Stay sane.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... MIA here yesterday as usual it was another very busy Saturday! I met SIL Linda and her friend Lynn downtown and we went to MIL's church bazaar. Bought some baking for my DH and a cute christmas decoration. Then we walked through the Farm Market and did some wine tasting and got some lovely fresh veggies. Home by lunch and then DH and I went to the Home Hardware and picked out a new colour for our front door. It really needs to be re-painted and we thought it might be fun to pick out a fresh new colour. This morning is being spent bottling red wine and doing house work and :washing: I have been so bad for neglecting my CheeryO duties and really need to catch up.

Rae - I am not a fan of horror movies, but I bet that old IT movie was pretty hokey!! I will not be watching the new one :fear: Hope you managed to get your new water pic yesterday and I will see what your new layout looks like, you always do such a beautiful job of your pages!

Sharon - Yikes you have a full house, so frustrating to try to live around a bunch of packed boxes!! Hope you manage!

Felis - Hope you are feeling better today and yes I agree, the movie producers should not sweeten real life !!

Chris - So happy that the party was a success ! Nice that you managed to get a few hugs in with Christopher, a hard thing to do when little boys start to grow up! Nice that you made Leah's grandmother feel so welcome to your family, hopefully she will not be too upset that Leah might be marrying someone who is not Jewish, how could she not love your son, he is the best!!

Nancy - Well aren't you just the most techy Mom ever!! Sounds like you have the perfect setup for your sports watching WTG!! My DH will be so very jealous!! How great that you have planned a big family vacation!! Now I am the jealous one, your cruise to Alaska sounds amazing!! Something that I have been wanting to do for so long! I seem to have to spend all my $$ on air fare to Ontario and back LOL! Oh well maybe one day :noidea:

Ok I best get off my butt and get some :washing: done and then I hope to get back here sometime today and do a bit of catching up!!

Good morning, ladies (almost noon though). Had a good sleep (til 8:30 which is really late for me). Used my nose spray, put EO on my nose, took Advil, grabbed a coffee and climbed into my chair for over 2 hrs. I read a lot of "Morning Star" and love it as much as the other two in the trilogy. It's the biggest book of the 3 so will take me a few more days to finish it. I hope they make a movie someday. I just showered and will get dressed now. Then I'll make some more hummingbird water for the feeder and fill the suet for the birds while I have cheese and pepperoni baking in the oven to put into a baggie with some almonds (my snack for the movie later this afternoon). It'll be weird not having popcorn at the theater and it made me realize I hadn't been to a movie theater since staring keto (7 months ago). I'll be fine though. I don't crave carbs anymore so I'll enjoy the concession food smells but will be okay not having any.

I mentioned the other day that Noel (Jen's cat) was in for tests and surgery and he 's doing fine. Turns out that he probably had a fight with another cat and a small scratch got infected and turned into this big awful mass. They did surgery and stitched him up. He's healing now, taking antibiotics and will be wearing a cone for the next couple of weeks. What a relief that he's going to be ok. Although he is an old cat and we all know his time is coming sooner rather than later, we were not ready at this time.

Chris - glad the party was a success and sounds like you really tried to make the grandmother feel included and steer away from any possible tension with her views on the kids' relationship. Hopefully she will in time come to see how wonderful you are all and better accept the relationship.

Trudy - you're always so busy around your home and property. I have no energy or inclination to do much yard work or DIY projects (I'm getting lazy in my old age).

Nancy - I loved our Alaska cruise, it's a bit slower paced than most of the tropical cruises and that suited us just fine. The views of course are stunning and there are so many fun excursions to go on.

Felis - I hate when a movie veers too far from the book plot. Glad to hear you are feeling better today, as am I (somewhat). I think it's going to take awhile but at least my virus/infection is slowly getting better. I always say I have no time to be sick :) I get very inpatient LOL.

Gotta go and get things done, so I'm getting off the computer for a bit. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
