Daily Ooo's: September 20-21: Weekend Party Edition

The big 6 Birthday Celebrations in One Bash is tomorrow. And I actually do think I am ready. Scott doesn't have classes on Friday and he and Gary did a lot to help me. All I really need to do today is boil eggs for deviled eggs and bake the cake.

I also realized yesterday how important it is to have "voice contact" with my BFF's. I spoke on the phone (I know!! *gasps*!!!) with my BFF on Thursday for quite a while. Yesterday I walked with my friend at the track and spent quite a bit of time catching up. We are always in contact through texts and emails, but it doesn't replace that feeling of actually talking and connecting. I hope that this younger generation doesn't lose that ability.

What good stuff do all of you have going on today? I am going to take another loooong shower today too-- yesterday's was heavenly!!!!

Nancy- seriously cold up here too!!! When I was walking with my friend, it was 50* and I could not believe it is still technically summer. The leaves on the mountains are changing too. It is just too early for this.
How many pics did you take? I bet between all of your trips this summer, you have a lot of great ones to choose from.

Trudy- here is my mojo~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I actually got 2 pages done yesterday for Oct Challenges and I honestly *like* both of them! I hate when I struggle with a page and after a couple of days I finish and I don't even like it. I loved your page for the Quirky challenge!!
Cait went to the thrift store yesterday, she is starting to look for baby clothes for her Flour Baby. She also as someone to "babysit" while she is is gym. They are not allowed to leave them unsupervised at all. I asked ig Grandma Flour (that would be me) would be able to babysit at home and bring Flour Grandbaby into school after gym. She said that I couldn't b/c the Baby can't be left unsupervised in the office and that the teachers will "kidnap" the babies left alone. I think that this should be required activity all of the students-- guys and girls alike.
What happened with YMG's truck? Hope that it was not too expensive. hahahah, oh that is really funny-- no such thing as "not too expensive." *eye roll*
And WTG on getting those laps in!!!!!

Morning O fam! Life sure gets busy at times! I do not remember if I shared, but next weekend I am headed to Denver, CO for a three day retreat about coming home to your fearless self with Rhonda Britten I am beyond excited and decided to create a journal of the experience and to help the 6 hour 1 am to 7 layover in Chicago. I shared the cover on a private fearless living group page and Rhonda wants the file to do something special with- I am beyond excited. Here is my journal cover- you will recognize Maya's creative silhouette and one of her houses- the rest come from other stores.

I'm back from the meeting and think it went well, but attendance wasn't the best - but the weather was, probably the last really nice and fairly warm day.

Laurie - your journal cover is stunning! How exciting that it caught the leader's eye. It would be exciting just to be going, so this must be a super boost.

Chris, wishing you the best for the party. Flour baby sounds interesting and I like your descriptions of how Cait is bonding with "it."

I got a welcome surprise when I got home and found an email that the digital version of the new issue of the state genealogy quarterly was available to members online. That is because I have an article in it!! I think it looks good and hope I'll get feedback.

good Sunday morning! Yesterday was a fun day. My DH and youngest son went to help the older son with the last bit of moving but that did not work out and so they all ended up back at our house. But that was fun as I spent time showing off my photos. Then in the afternoon we attended our first gender party. It seems to be a trend that everyone wants to know the sex of the child before delivery. I am old school and I really liked not knowing until he was born. But the party was fun. In order to find out the sex we played darts. The balloons were filled with either pink or blue paint. They gave us 3 darts but I only needed one to pop the balloon. Well she is having a boy! It is very exciting! So now today I am home alone as they are doing the moving again. I am enjoying this!

Chris I can't wait to hear how the party went! I hope you got lots of photos!

Morning ladies... I was MIA yesterday as I rushed out in the morning to go to MIL's Church Fall Fair. I picked up a couple of items, but really there was mostly other peoples junk at this fair. Poor MIL is so upset that her church in her home town is now closed and she now has to attend the church here where I live. Attendance is down for this church too and they are struggling to stay open.

Chris - Hope your party is a big hit!! At least you will have all 6 birthdays over and done with in one day!! Thanks for sending the mojo I am keeping it in a box until I get the time to sit and do some actual scrapping. Hubby has me busy all weekend, we are now working on getting the back steps all redone and they all have to be stained too. :mmph: oh well they will look good when done, we have been planning on doing this job for about 5yrs now :becky:

Laurie - Your retreat sounds amazing!! I hope that it is everything you hoped it would be and more! Love your journal cover, you did a great job on it!!

Jean - Hoe fabulous that you have an article that has been published!! Hope you get to enjoy this last weekend of summer and that the weather is still nice for you!
