CHEERY O
Happy Weekend, my lOves! Did everyone get to stay snuggled under the covers for a little longer today?
Not me, I had my alarm set and still woke up before it went off. I am working this morning, but it should be an easy day. Honestly, I am super excited for this program. I'm just assisting on a Meditation and Reflection Walk. It's a brand new (to us) program and I am observing /assisting so I can fill in if the regular Lead can't do it. Just as I trained for Forest Bathing.
I'm looking forward to doing some meditation today, even found an old journal to bring along.

Yesterday was busy-busy-busy! I had 14 different things on my To-Do list and crossed off all but three of them. I even dragged myself into ShopRite after debating with myself if I wanted to place an online order and pick it up today. But it's all done and I'll start the week's shopping order tomorrow and pick it up on Thursday. Hopefully, that will give the family enough food to get through the few days I'll be away the following week.

Plugging the Paprika App again: Cait and I cannot stop telling everyone how awesome this app is. She can add stuff to the Meal Planner, find new recipes, or add notes on the nights she won't be home for dinner. You can edit all of the recipes-- For example, last night I made Vegan Egg Roll in a Bowl. I doubled the recipe in the app, and it called for 2 Tbsp. Sriracha. I was like-- not a chance! I kept that as 1 Tbsp, which was the perfect amount of heat. I added that in the Notes section so if I can't remember what I did (highly likely!) next time, it's all there.
Neither of us likes to pay for apps and pretty much refuse subscriptions, but this is a one-time change of $5. And we laugh all the time about how it is the best $5 we each spent.

So my goals for today-- first- work and *if* I get out in time, swing by the FP if it is still open. I have only been able to make it twice in the last three months and what a difference it makes on my budget. Just being able to get a can of coffee at this rate is huge!

Once I get back here, I have to bake Caitlyn's birthday cake and the mini-muffins for my IL's gift. That's from a box and it is made with almond flour. I'll taste test them and if they aren't good, I'll have to find another recipe. MIL doesn't like anything sweet so the regular cake mixes are out of the question.
If I have more time, I'll keep studying mosses and lichens as phytoremediators. (my new $20 word of the day hahahah!)

That's it from sunny and *dry* NJ.

xoxo

One of my favorite Muppet skits :D

I mean, I read, I write and I listen to English each and every day ... but talking!!! I sounded like an idiot. But they were so polite, and didn't say anything. I guess, they understood what I was saying, even though I sounded like the Swedish chef in the Muppets. :giggle4:
Two quick comments:
1. You are awesome that you speak more than one language. I barely speak /write English.
2. Polite? Are you sure they were American? :floorlaugh:

Mark is planning to work a half day today so he can work on adding a deck to the cabin. He would like to have it mostly finished by next weekend when we have the church fellowship. I told him I could help with the hammering, etc! We shall see if he lets me! ;)
At the rate Mark is going, the cabin is going to be bigger than your house!
Have fun and watch your fingers if you help with hammering. :)

Oh my goodness, Gary just called to me -- We have a Jay!!!!
Well. No kidding. I can hear them shrieking nonstop. Then he says-- We have a J-Shape! Ahhh, now I understand his excitement. It's another caterpillar getting ready for the chrysalis stage. It's so exciting when it happens where we can see it. ♥ Six of the seven I counted a few days ago have gone, we have one medium-sized 'pillar left.

@faerywings as we age our overloaded brains ( from so much that we have to remember ) mix things up and forget for a second. That is what I say when I struggle to remember things...I have 72 years worth of memories in there!! I wish I could sort and delete some so I have more storage space!!!
:confused::crazy::confused:
Yes, 100%! Between that and not remembering who you shared a story with before adds to the label of "confused."
Here is a old-timer joke-- wouldn't it be cool if we could defrag our brains? :giggle4: All of the kids these days would ask, what is defragging? LOL!

I was being good, Chris... but I did have to wipe down/clean surfaces that Covid might have been left on. Did one area then rested before doing another one. Still get too tired if I do much. Made it to the store for a few things on Wednesday and was wiped out when I got home. So taking it easy for the next several days.
I am so glad to hear it. How has your BP been, holding steady?
Enjoy the visits with your kids!

I totally get this and its not vain. I am thankful mine are coming in even and white. Grey is dull and I would cover it too. If it was patchy I might cover it too. I am lucky as its evenly spread and pure white so far. I do highlight/lowlight about every 18 months to 5 years or so just for fun. Its almost time to do it again. I see hair as something to play with and change it all the time. Its a good 4" shorter than the avitar I have now.
Yup! I get foils done so the hairdresser can mix the blond in with the grey. It also helps so I don't get the skunk stripe either. LOL
Yes, that makes sense. Dont want people to take away your independence just because you stumbled over a sentence or thought. I agree with Debby, @BoatLady so much in our memories to sort through that it can take a moment to find what you wanted to say.
:nod1: Exactly. And I can get away with being honest more than my brother and much more than my Sis-IL. So when I ask my mom, hey, how is your brain feeling today, you seem more scattered than normal, she knows that it's a sincere question/concern.

We get the grands for a sleepover. Its gonna be a crazy 24 hours.
I am sending you coffee for the next time you come up for air. :coffee1: :coffeedrinker: and some more :coffeedrinker:
Have fun!

Oh NO....I got over ruled...hubby wants light on top and dark on the bottom...I wanted all dark. I'm sure it will be beautiful either way.
Bah humbug! But you are right, it will look amazing.
And think of it this way, it took at least a decade for the avocado green refrigerators to go out of style. In ten years or so, are you going to care about cabinet fads? :rotfl:

Have a wonderful day!

Good morning,
Laundry and then heading to the woods to help Mark with the cabin porch. Really, @faerywings , the porch will be big enough to double the size of the cabin if we ever need a place to live! Lol! Add walls and a roof and voila!
Have a great day!

Send more! And more!!!!!!

We've had a great time so far but TWO HOURS to get them to sleep. DD said its almost instant!! Well, yeah if they were at home. Boys share a room and g-daughter sleeps in a crib in mom n dads room. Well, last night they all shared a queen bed at grandmas and that was extra fun for g-daughter. She could bug her brothers all night long. As soon as I took her out of there, the boys were asleep. Had to hold g-daughter on my lap in the living room until she fell asleep. Then every couple hours one of them (they were in my room) would ask how long until morning. Thankful I have a large bedroom and we could fit the extra queen in there for them to sleep on. Last time they were at the other end of the house and I spent all night walking back and forth. This was easier and I got some sleep but man, keep the coffee coming.
:coffeedrinker::sleeping1::coffeedrinker:
Then my friend who I'm to meet for coffee says hey lets go 3-4 hours drive and get a cat! LOL She's an animal lover and oh it would be fun but I am too tired to drive that far. And yeah, I would drive so she could hold said cat all the way home. Need more :coffeedrinker:

Should be a good day. Kids head home this afternoon and nothing is planned. Will veg. the afternoon away. Thinking dinner is whatever you find to eat cause mom is toast.

Off to fill the cup with more "sanity". Have a wonderful day.

@AK_Tracy sounds like a trying night. I was so lucky all of my grands hit the pillow and see you in the morning!!! Especially in the boat as they were rocked to sleep. I hope you get to chill out this afternoon you sure deserve it.
3-4 hour drive to get a cat...no way unless it's something special cause that is 3-4 hours back.

I did some cleaning of things around the house because my HS friend (that had the brain aneurysm) and hubby will be over later for early dinner. Easy peasy-- grilled Keilbasa from the town next to us up North...so special. Farfalle, bacon, penicil thin asparagas with garlic, spices and EVOO. White wine- probably Riesling. I have not seen her since we left in May so it will be good.
Not getting my way with the kitchen redo but we won't be doing anything for a longtime so many make some changes.
I did some packing for Germany- not much room left in my suitcase. I looked at the forecast rainy and 58 the day we arrive...I am used to 80's yikes I am taking a fleece! the next few days are not much better.. I took the steroid meds my Dr gave me to reduce the inflammation in my hip so I am getting ready for lots of travel walking. I will be at daughters in CT for 2 nights so that will prep me for cold weather,

@vickyday I hope you have fun in the woods. I assume since you are a scrapper that you will be taking progress pics and making a page...I want to see.

Good morning ladies. It's been a busy wk (ha ha shocker LOL). We had a blast yesterday at canasta and then dice game with a potluck dinner. Someone brought a yummy hashbrown casserole topped with crumbled potato chips. That sure brings back memories. My mom put crumpled chips or corn flakes on everything when I was a kid.

Today I am meal planning b/c I want to make a few more meals and a few less meal kit deliveries. I need a bit more variety and since I prepare lots of extra veggies, I might as well make the whole meal more often, it certainly will be cheaper. The produce delivery I will keep going all winter, just maybe every 2 wks since i never finish everything they send us.

I have so many apples from the last delivery and today that I decided to do a lazy microwave apple dish to stick in the freezer for the week to munch on, easy peasy, just core (I have an awesome apple corer) and slice, toss in a bit of water/cornstarch, apple pie spice, cinnamon and sugar (splenda/stevia) with a dab of butter and splash of lemon juice, then nuke for 2-3 min. Jen loves it and is also going to start doing this.

@faerywings I have the paprika app too. I keep seeing another recipe app on FB but it is a monthly charge. Paprika is so much cheaper and works great. I have been using it for about a year now and love it.

@BoatLady Wow, Germany...how fun! When do you leave? I am missing Europe, we've been talking about it lately and think maybe next year we'll head back over there again.

@AK_Tracy Sounds like a fun but busy time with the kids. Have a relaxing afternoon.

I'm going to do a bit of everything today...scrap, read, binge tv shows, do laundry, meal plan and grocery shop after taking Remi for a walk. I'm sure the day will fly by.

One of my favorite Muppet skits :D
LOVE the Muppet Show, don't remember that skit. I didn't watch it much when younger, I appreciate it more now... "Mahna mahma" is my all-time favorite. I just watched it again, still makes me laugh. All I can picture is my Dad sitting watching it and laughing himself silly. For some reason it struck him so funny and he couldn't stop laughing. I aksed my sister once, she remembers that too. :D

Wow, the day is almost gone!!! I popped in here this morning but forgot to say hello. Had to make a trip to the store... only had maybe a cup of ground coffee in the house. I haven't had coffee since Covid hit but DD#3 was drinking it while she was here. I know that both DD#1 and DD#3 will drink it while they are here (both from Sunday till Tuesday) plus I will probably drink some too. DD#3 is going to be the taxi-driver picking up DD#1 tomorrow at the airport then taking her back to the airport on Tues. DD#3 will also pick up DSon#2 Tuesday evening and bring him from the airport to my house then she will head home. Has a couple of doctor appts for her hubby the next day. Not sure if she will be up to taking DSon#2 to airport on Sat... I may need to do that instead. I also had to get more bread, bananas, potatoes and a new toothbrush. Was bushed when I got home - had lunch then fell asleep in the recliner for almost 2 hours. I can see it will be a slow recovery with lots of rest/naps every day. Sorry that DSon#2 is here while I am not completely up to par... but it has been a year and a half since he was here. Happy to have time with him regardless.

Out of steam... so back to recliner to read... and probably nap again.

yep, it is a special cat and circumstance. Will be worth the trip, but she will make it tomorrow without me.
The kids would have been out like lights had I not tried to put them all in the same space. GD thought it was a hoot to be with her brothers and kept talking and hugging them. It was cute the first ....... yeah who we kidding, it was bed time, it wasn't cute till now thinking back on it. :giggle4: Had I let her sleep in my bed, they would have been out like a light. But now we know.

Where is the drool emoji??? This sounds AMAZING!!!

It's been a busy wk (ha ha shocker LOL).
:wow2: Totally shocked! :floorlaugh: Doesn't sound like your weekend is any less busy either!!
