Happy Weekend and a day for Faery to do nothing. Nuh-thing!
If you believe that, I got a bridge to sell ya, but I am going to try. I didn't/couldn't even get out of bed until 7.30 which is very late for me. Usually, the dogs and my aching back wake me up much earlier than that.

And I am so sorry, I lied yesterday, I was going to try and catch up yesterday and what you had been up to the past few days and I ran out of time. I had a lot of house/bills/laundry to work on before we left with Caitlyn at 11 am. Then it was almost 5 when we got home. I forgot how much I hate that area of NJ. The traffic and congestion and people. *shudders* Gary and I dropped her off at 12 pm and then we went to the Christmas Tree Shop (Found a few cute and spooky things for her b-day) and then went to the mall to get something to eat. As we walked into the mall, I asked Gary how long it was going to take before I started muttering how much I hate malls. It took me just a minute or two- we entered through Nordstrom and yikes, just the smell of the perfume... whew! *holds nose* The only restaurant in the mall was a food court and by the time we got to it I was practically *itching* and the food court pushed me over the edge. I was hanging on to Gary's hand and was having an anxiety attack. We had to leave. LOL
We found a Chili's thank goodness, although I would have been just as happy to not eat at all if I could have just stayed somewhere quiet hahaha :D

I posted here already but she passed her exam!!!! Whoo hoo!!! No surprise. *wink*
Good news for my nephew- he got a paid internship in DC! It is in the press office for a Congresswoman but is only for 2 months. But--- this will def. help his resume and networking so maybe it will open some doors up for him. *fingers crossed*

That's it, I am going to post this, then personals from yesterday's thread, and go from there.

HUGS!!

@LSlycord I am trying to skim through the last few days of posts but what happened?? Oh my, your poor face and then you canceled/postponed your trip?? That looks incredibly painful and I am so sorry that you didn't get to go away. You didn't break your nose? Just your glasses banged into it?
I just found the post-- blood thinners and facial/head lacerations are a BAD combo!
Take care and heal yourself. The new travel plans sound like they will be good too and I know you are counting the days until Syd comes home for the weekend. I am sorry to hear that the job sort of fell through but I think you are very smart to take a step back and take some time for yourself for a while

@vickyday how fun and exciting to be scanning and scrapping all of your heritage photos! Did Mark get some time to work on the cabin yesterday?

@Cherylndesigns The testing center for Cait's exam is literally two towns away from NYC so you can imagine how she would have never been able to drive there without having a heart attack ;) I semi-jokingly asked Gary if he wanted to go into the City to kill some time, I haven't been in in years but he hates NYC almost as much as he hates the ocean. ;) It's funny how I hate malls and people but wandering on NYC sidewalks doesn't bother me.
hahaha!! Cici's Animal House-- how cute!
"you can't work outside and inside, too".
Your mom is right and I will choose outside with you too!

@bcgal00 I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better and getting a little energy back! I saw that you scrapped a bunch of LOs on FB. Any luck finding a dishwasher?
*whispers* make sure you are pacing yourself so you don't relapse.....
I am thrilled for Jen and the job, and happy that Bella is having fun there too. It sounds perfect for her at this point in time ♥
I am scared to watch Handmaid's Tale, it seems like we are getting closer to it every day here.

@BrightEyes I adore the LO you made for the Quote Challenge!!
How are you feeling, still scratchy throat?

@scrap-genie Hii!! I saw you posting when I am not around... hope you are doing great!! It is feeling like fall up here too, now that I am back from the shore, I can officially declare it to be Halloween season! hahaha

@tanteva Oh boy. The new govt is not sounding good at all. Is there enough of a coalition on the other sides to keep the neonazi branches balanced a bit?
Equestria sounds PERFECT, can I come to? :)

I apologize to everyone I missed, I have 2 windows and 4 tabs open in each of several different threads. I know I passed someone by.

Love to you all!

Good Saturday Morning to Everyone!
Yesterday ended up being a wash in getting any scanning done! I just didn't feel like it! Instead, I played with a couple of Fiddlette's kits! I guess I will do some scanning today since Mark will spend his day working in the woods!

The weather was so nice yesterday that when Mark got home I talked him into taking a bike ride and taking me out to dinner (making him think it was his idea, of course! ;) ) The weather was PERFECT for a bike ride! We went to his daughter's house after we ate. She is out of town, so Mark let the dogs out while I took some pictures. She has the cutest little goats! When they cry for food, they sound so pitiful!

I did manage to thin out the tomato vines yesterday, to the unfortunate demise of some green "tommy toes." I also cleaned out some of the dead and dying cantaloupe vines and found a couple of hidden, rotten cantaloupes! Last year I primped and pruned my garden and got hardly any produce. This year I did nothing and got an abundance +! What's up with that, LOL!

Well, I do need to get some laundry done and the kitchen cleaned up, so I guess I will be a good girl (maybe) and close out for now.

Have a great weekend!

@faerywings no working on the cabin! After we got back from our bike ride he barely had time to get the grass cut before it got dark on him! He actually did take Piper to the woods to sit around the fire for a bit, however! Piper is the doberman. She and the poodle (Asher) are both alphas. It is hilarious to watch them together!

@faerywings I am so excited for Cait! And a paid internship in a congresswoman's office sounds perfect for your nephew...two months is two months and that gives him a new line item on his resume! Love it!

I'm feeling better each day. I'm still achy and I get tired quickly but I think that I will be fine soon enough. And need to plan next week's trip. I'm not going to lie...I am really happy that we will be here next weekend when Syd comes home. Andie insisted this morning that I opened Sydney's bedroom door. Then she walked around in there, stopped and turned to me like don't you know that we have a problem---Sydney is missing! The dogs will be so excited to see her again.

And, speaking of dogs, the other dog is going to the groomer today. She is much easier to handle at 55 pounds. But Brian is taking her. No one (including me) trusts me with that duty any longer.

@vickyday I totally know what you mean by the "ancestry rabbit hole". I definitely get pulled into that! Love to hear that weather in NC is beautiful right now. Hoping to catch some of those colorful trees when we take our road trip! Glad that you got a ride in yesterday...and I hope you got photos of those goats.

@Cherylndesigns I saw some beautiful big mums at Costco yesterday. I need them around my pool after I cleaned out all of the dead stuff. They were pink and white and I would really like the yellows and oranges better, but I may just go ahead and get them if they are still there on Monday. That means Shaun will be in charge of the dogs and my mums while we are on the road trip...but he is a pretty good kid and will probably do it for me!

@bcgal00 oh no on the dishwasher. Although, ours is really not good. The dishwasher is less than 3 years old and yet it does not work well. So glad that Jen likes the job...even if it is just for now. Sometimes, "just for now" is all we can handle.

@BrightEyes glad that you were able to get a visit in with one of your Red Hat friends, even if it was a quick one that was socially distanced!

Ok...some trip planning...getting some bills paid...and doing some scrapping. That's what I know is on the docket today!

Good morning ladies. Had a relaxing day yesterday, visiting with friends after shopping for a dishwasher. We found the Maytag that goes with our other appliances at another store, the guy got us a discount, no tax and will be arranging delivery and install probably within the week. The extended warranty is also for 2 yrs more than the other place for the same money. So, we paid a little less and got more for our money. Yay. At the Brick they tried to tell me they were coming in this week and could arrange delivery, I said no, too late, if they were coming to the warehouse this week then I should have been contacted and wasn't so we were going elsewhere. They had to refund our money. So, that is done.

Sat in the hot tub last night (first time since before getting sick) and it felt so good. Hopefully the water jets help the ache in my damaged calf muscle. I am able to walk better, the pain has reduced but is still hurts if I touch it against anything or walk. Sitting still now it doesn't throb at all so that is good. I can't believe how bad that is from a cramp I got 3 wks ago.

Today I'll go to the dog park and get groceries, that's it. I will get some scrapping done, some chores and maybe get a chance to look through photos for framing. I want to pick out a couple of landscape shots from our Alaska trip.

@faerywings Glad to hear C passed and your nephew got the internship. You'd like our little mall here, it is never very busy, not a lot of shops but enough and everyone is so friendly. I love it. I hated the malls in Vancouver, so loud and busy.

@LSlycord Glad you are slowly feeling better. Syd home next week...yay. I know that makes you happy.

@vickyday Yes, goat pics please!

I'm going to go do my stretches and maybe relax and read for a bit, I haven't been doing much of that for months (ever since we moved here). Time to get back into it.

Morning everyone. Wow, I managed to sleep in this AM until after 7:30. Woke up to temps in the mid-50's.... feels like a delightful fall day. But it will soar back up to near 90*F this afternoon. Only a couple more days like that - then the monsoon rains will return. Finally got around to stripping the sheets from the guest room bed and getting them in to be washed a few minutes ago. I always would think about it in the late afternoons when the power restrictions are on so glad I remembered early in the day. Had a nice chat with DD#1 yesterday and heard that DSon#1 and wife are now visiting with DSon#2 this weekend. They will be traveling back home and stopping to visit with DD#2 and her hubby this coming week.

Chris, @faerywings such great news about Cait passing her exam.... wow, that is a lot to go through just to get into the place to take the exam. Glad she got the word immediately that she passed. And good news about your nephew and his paid internship. Thanks for the comment about the Quote challenge...yes, I had fun making the LO - brought back lots of fun memories. The throat is okay now - after a few days on allergy meds and drinking hot tea with honey.

@vickyday can't wait to see the photos of the goats! :p Glad you got your ride and dinner out... always neat when you can make DH think it was all his idea, too!!

@bcgal00 so sorry your calf muscle is still paining you for so long after the charlie-horse spasms. Sounds like you are being wise in how you are pacing your activities. So glad that Jen is enjoying her new job. Glad you went to another store and are able to get the dishwasher and at a better price!

@LSlycord glad Brian is taking over taking the dogs to the vets, etc. Hope all the bruises and aches are healed up before your trip. Nice that the trip will be after Syd comes home for the weekend. Had to LOL over the dog's reaction when you opened the door to her room!

Time to go sort my laundry and try to get it finished before noon.

Goof afternoon. I slept until 10 this morning - I was exhausted yesterday and just didn't feel well. I think I was worn out from having Ava's dog all afternoon and evening. She's really sweet, but a pup and a busy one. If I could just "do my thing" while she's here, it would be one thing. I have to watch her constantly because she chews on everything. Last time she was here, she chewed part of the binding off the rug under my bed. She did it so fast and I was scrapping and took my eyes and my mind off her for just enough time. She only got one corner, but still. She's a typical lab they chew. Ava was "hinting" for us or Adrienne to keep her again last night, but I didn't offer and then I felt so guilty. Adrienne told her she and Roger had plans. We JUST had our house cleaned yesterday and our floors always look so beautiful! We kept her last time right after the house was cleaned and she trashed the kitchen floor with her constant drinking. I had water all over the floor. I was a bad Cici and decided I wanted at least one day with pretty, shiny floors. Chuck said she needs to learn to leave the dog home in her crate. LOL

But enough about me. LOL Chris @faerywings congratulations to Cait (I'm not surprised at all) and to your nephew!! A paid internship is amazing and that should open some doors for him. I had to chuckle about your not liking malls or going into the city. I'm the same way anymore. And I agree about the smells in those big stores. Ick.

Linda @LSlycord how is your poor face today??? I'm happy that you'll get to see Syd before you leave and poor Andie - they just can't figure it out, can they? They always go around looking for their people who aren't there. They need to "herd" their peeps. SO sweet. Go ahead and get the mums - they'll look beautiful around your pool and if you can trust Shaun to keep them watered, that's great. That will bring some fall to your back area. My mums are just starting to open and I can't wait to see them. They're covered with buds.

Rae @bcgal00 sounds like you're doing better every day - that's such good news. I agree with Chris, take it easy.

Vicky @vickyday your ride and dinner sounds like it was lovely - so glad you got to go.

I'd better get busy, Adrienne and I are going out for a little bit, around 2, so I'd better get off here and get ready.

Hugs to all.

That is the best way to start my morning, @vickyday I love goats! We had a family-owned nursery and they have a bunch of teeny goats, three alpacas, and a tortoise near my house. Every time we drive past, we have to slow down to look at them. ♥

My day got totally away from me yesterday. I guess it was good since I said I wasn't going to do anything and I pretty much didn't. I finished the last few things to be unpacked, scrapped a LO, scooped the lawn which hadn't been done since I left. Caitlyn and I spent the majority of the afternoon working on a puzzle, it was nice to have her "back" and not studying
Thank you for the congrats to her and to my nephew. My poor BFF has to help him find a place to live before Oct 1, anyone have contacts in DC??

Vicky, I have a couple of LOs for Fiddlette's kits to upload today. Her kits are so dang *cute*! Smart of you to go for a ride, especially if the weather was perfect. A bunch of my grape tomatoes ripened while I was gone so I think pruning them gave them just enough sunlight to help. Sorry that your tommy toes didn't do that same *G*

@LSlycord I am happy that you are feeling better, you really went down *hard*- I remember when J took me down the driveway, I didn't know if I was going to be able to get up on my own. I was sore for days.
Poor Andie must miss Syd so much too, W is the same when Cait is not around, she whines to go in her room but then gets so bummed that she isn't in there.
Smart to let Brian take Hayden to the groomer!

@bcgal00 Yipeeee! You must be so happy that you were able to get the dishwasher bought and for less $. The hot tub must have felt amazing. Between that and stretching again, I hope you feel a lot more limber soon.

@BrightEyes I love that your kids are traveling around and visiting each other. Are they able to Zoom with you at all?
I hope that the monsoons are just the right amount of rain that you need without any flooding.

@Cherylndesigns Puppies are so very much like toddlers, no wonder you were exhausted. Are you all caught up on sleep today?
Cici knows better *tsk tsk* you can't give in to the grandkids all of the time :D You deserved to have clean floors so don't; feel guilty about not taking the dogs again
What did you and Adrienne do yesterday? Get anything cute for your porch for fall?

Good morning ladies! Not a lot to report from here. Shaun is at work and Brian is at a football game for work...trying to drum up business. So I have the house just to me and the dogs. I didn't get much accomplished yesterday...still not 100% on energy...but I did actually cook a meal. We had pork chops, scalloped potatoes and a blueberry cobbler with homemade ice cream. I was pretty dang proud of myself. I had a moment...I had purchased a large package of pork chops at Costco and when I pulled it out to cook some and freeze the rest, I realized that there were just 3 of us so I only needed to cook 3 pork chops. They were 1 1/2 inch thick so I didn't even have the excuse to make an extra one for Shaun.

I got photos of the first birthday party for my great niece. She is such a cutie! And they sent me a video of her playing with the toys that I sent to her. One is a thing that plays very loud music...and she loves it. She bobs her head up and down to the music. And pounds on that little keyboard. Anxious to see them in a couple of weeks. And, as luck would have it, my middle niece will be on a business trip (she does recruiting for a college in Iowa) in St. Louis when we travel through there to get to Iowa. So she wants to have dinner. Which will be perfect...haven't had much one-on-one time with her recently. So the postponed trip will work out great I think.

Good morning, ladies.

I love goats, too!! How cute are these anyway??? Thanks for the picture, Vicky @vickyday!

Chris @faerywings sounds like you had a relaxing day and I'm so happy that you got to spend time with Cait. My sister and niece used to live in DC, but they moved away a few years ago. Well, they didn't live in The District, but in Falls Church, VA, which is practically DC. I do know there are a lot of apartment buildings there. Does he want to live in The District or would VA work for him? They have that Metro System that can get him there and it's probably not as expensive (although everything is expensive there). I spent a lot of time there, back in the day.

Adrienne and I had a great time yesterday! We discovered that a new shop has finally opened - it's practically around the corner - they were having their Grand Opening yesterday. What a store!!! We thought it was small, but it's deep and just goes on and on. Each little room is filled with any kind of home decor that you could ever want. The prices are amazing, too - I bought three new pillows and they were a fraction of the price they would be at other stores. I got 2 for my couch and another one for one of my chairs. I got the cutest garden flag, too. I had a garden "pick" in one of my big pots that was from 4th of July, so it was time to replace that with something fall. I haven't put it out yet because I had to iron the wrinkles out - it was folded in a package and the wrinkles were really set in. I think I got them out - it's kind of a plastic fabric (hopefully, it's waterproof) and was pretty hard to iron. Then we went to Walgreen's - Adrienne needed to pick up a prescription for Braden and I had ordered a 12x12 canvas and I picked that up.

Linda @LSlycord good for you for feeling up to make such a yummy dinner. I'm sorry for "your moment". They get you out of the blue. Sounds like you might be doing a bit better - I'm sending healing vibes and gentle hugs. That's so cute about your niece I'm sure you can't wait to see her. And your trip delay seems to have gotten some perks - glad you're going to get to see your middle niece.

I'd better get going - Happy Sunday everybody.

Back for a few personals!

@vickyday I was sure you had taken pictures of the goats and you definitely did NOT disappoint. They just make me smile! I can't wait to see the upcoming layouts!

@bcgal00 how exciting about the dishwasher!! My father-in-law used to work at Maytag many, many years ago and my husband is from the small town in Iowa where Maytag started. Lots has changed over the years but it sounds like you got a great deal! And what's with places like the Brick trying to offer customer service once they are backed into the corner. Good for you on going elsewhere. Can't believe that you are still sore from that cramp...dang, it just never lets up does it.

@BrightEyes I love to hear that your adult kids are visiting each other. That must make you know that you did something right...to build those attachments! I pray that my two will be adults like that! Those restrictions on power must be awful...but I guess we do what we've got to do.

@Cherylndesigns love that you got to keep the floor clean for one day! Good decision. Our Hayden just drips water all over the place when she drinks! And you pushed me in the right direction...I am going to Costco tomorrow and get the mums! The new shop sounds terrific. I need a few new cushions for the sofa!

Hope everyone has a good rest of your weekend.
