GoooOd monirng, lOves!
I hope everyone is enjoying a lazy morning and weekend.

Today is Caitlyn and Tom's 1-year anniversary! Hoo boy, that went *fast!!* They have a fun time planned together. They are going to New Hope, PA for the day. They are hitting a cute little shopping village there, a nearby Autumn festival, and then a Ghost Tour at night. Plenty of vegan restaurants too, so they won't starve :)

I'm so glad that I stocked up on bird seed the other day. We had a bear scarf down most of what was in the feeder after he dragged the lattice arch down to get to the suet block. The arch is destroyed. There is a possibility that Gary might be able to figure out a way to fix it, but last night he didn't think he could. The funniest thing is that we were watching TV after dinner and I thought I heard something bang outside. Didn't think anything much of it. My neighbor across the street called me to say there was a bear on my porch. When we got to the window, sure enough, the bear was pulling at the suet cage, slurped at the hummingbird nectar, and moved on to the bird seed. My neighbors have a 15-month-old who is the cutest little stinker and I can hear her yelling at the bear. We are yelling out the window and I tried to bang some pans. And my dogs are silent! The bear was freaking adorable, looked like a human in a bear suit, standing up to get the seeds. Had the sweetest little feet!
Not sure if this will play or not:
I mean-- look at the feet!

Nothing big is happening today. I am going to visit my friend at her new house this morning. Then get ready for tomorrow and the week ahead.
I took a few photos of the beaver lodge and some of the gnawed trees on my hike-that-was-more-of-a-nature-stroll yesterday. I think I went about 1.5 miles in an hour. I stopped to look at a bunch of cool things, tested some of my tree ID skills, and listened to the birds on Merlin. It ID'd a Belted Kingfisher and I wanted to find it but no luck-- and I forgot binoculars in the car. Pfft.

I'm tired, need more coffee!

HAGD!

I just looked at Kay's last activity and it is from when she posted that she had covid, not even a new LO in the gallery. I hope that she is just resting as much as she can and will be back soon.

@BoatLady I am very sorry that you need to have your hip redone. Even more so that the timing of your trip stinks. I know once you get it done and are healed up, walking will be so much better. Can the Dr give you a cortisone shot or that jelly shot they use on knees to get you through the trip? Very smart to pack your cane.
You will have a lot of fun on it, I'm sure!

@bcgal00 How are all of the fur-babies, all better?
I hope that you can figure out what is causing the holes in your clothes. Can you put some of the more delicate things in a lingerie bag for some extra protection?
Hahah!! I am LMBO at your mushy-brain story! I can relate.

@AK_Tracy *gentle hugs* I carry most of my stress in my upper back, shoulders, and my jaw. It's so difficult to relax once it gets tight.
Hope that you were able to chill out and breathe in between all of your To Dos.

@vickyday You are a good, good friend to drive that far to get your friends from the retreat while you aren;t feeling well.
Hope that you have plenty of time to rest and scrap today!

The video played. He was dumping more see than he was eating I think!
I love the view of him from behind! And he does look like a human in a bear suit! That's a scrapper! ;)

Well I'm feeling better right now but that's because I haven't eaten anything yet, lol! I would like to say I'm going to rest today but I'm behind on laundry and we have a ladies' Bible study at church this morning from 10-12.
Happy Anniversary to Caitlyn and Tom!

OMG @faerywings That video is hilarious!

I have two whole days on my calendar with nothing written on them! Luxury. Weather is nice so maybe we'll bike to a winery this afternoon.

I've been watering my friend's plants while she is on vacation. I accidentally broke off a stem of the coleus. Rather than leaving it there, I tucked it in my bike bag to throw away at home. I guess that's a sign of feeling guilty, LOL.

I made our plane reservations for December to visit the kids for Christmas. Also bought everyone tickets to Lion King, which will be on stage in Seattle for the holidays. My mantra for gifts for the grandkids: "Experiences, not stuff" but that's hard when you live literally on the other side of the continent. Now I have to wait for David to see the credit card bill.

Pretty soon it will be full-on autumn tourism season here, so I'm going to take advantage of our local spots before the crowds arrive.

Good morning Ladies!

Today is Caitlyn and Tom's 1-year anniversary! Hoo boy, that went *fast!!*
Happy Anniversary!! Cant believe its been a year already!!!!

Nope, bear not cute (he is cute but.....). Not cute when they're bold enough to be that close. When they get that bold, its time for breakfast sausage and ham.

@Terri M :floorlaugh: waiting for David to see the cc bill :giggle4: I love the experiences over stuff. We've done that too.The memories are amazing and so worth it. Lion King will be fantastic and the family will have a blast.

Yes Chris, I did rest some. I'm trying to sit when I can and rest up and let the stress flow off. I'm looking forward to next week and finally being able to see the Chiro, even if its a substitute one for the time being. This girl needs a crack. :floorlaugh:

A very Happy Anniversary to the happy couple.
The video is amazing...that is a cute little face and you are right cute paws but really needs a manicure those nails--yikes.

@Terri M wine tasting sounds like a wonderful afternoon if you ask me. Enjoy.
My husband never looks at bills so I guess I am lucky. It's money spent on grandchildren so your hubby won't care will he? Put the piece of plant in water to let it root and you can have a new plant.

@vickyday I'm glad you are feeling better. Hopefully you can eat soon. Have fun with the laundry...LOL.

Very puzzling what is making the holes in your clothes @bcgal00 so please let us know what you figure out.

Yesterday I went to my friends house for shrimp soup that she made... It started out that it was going to be quick easy but got bigger. There were 6 of us and it was a wonderful afternoon out on the patio overlooking the pond. Everyone brought food so it was a real feast. She is a open air no A/C lady. She keeps the door open for the cats to go in and out. So after were we done eating we were helping her bring things into the house and noticed a huge paw print of a raccoon. It came in to get cat food we assume then left none of us saw it...Yikes. She had a possum in the house one day. The cats have brought mice it...No thanks my doors stay shut!!!
Today I am having a bad hip day so I potted a few plants for the plant sale next month at the club and then I read. I even put the TV on to watch a show about Yosemite while Jay was working at the club. Now I will read more... so lazy today.

I hope we hear from @BrightEyes soon this is making me nervous with the Covid now.

I'm with you...no open doors!
I wasn't able to eat much at our Bible study but ate around 2 at home and now I feel so bloated! I actually always feel better not eating but you can't live long that way. ;)

Happy Sunday! Hope that everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. It's been pretty nice here, and today will be a beautiful one to be outdoors. Other than visiting with my friend for a few hours, I don't think I did much of anything. I hate days like that when I have no clue how I actually wasted my time LOL

I loved seeing my friend's new house, although I had to laugh. She probably tripled her square footage living space but already ran out of room to put things. And this was after a garage sale, donations, and a junk-be-gone service. I guess after so many years in place, you find places to shove things and then can't get them back in. It's like when I cleaned out my pantry, tossed a ton of old food, and still had nowhere to put everything back-- just on a much grander scale :D

I am off to work this morning. I got the updated sign-up list for the first forest bathing hike-- only three people today. I'm not sure if that makes me more or less nervous. :thinking2:
Honestly, I think it will be awesome, nice and intimate. (That's the story I am telling myself and will be sticking to it. :giggle4: )
After that, it's the Meet and Greet with the donors from 2-4. In between those, I hope to catch up on some loose ends with the director and/or work on some plans for Honeschool, etc.

I'm glad I wrote that ^^. I just took a break to email the director to ask if she has time to help me log into the staff email and Canva accounts. I have the info, but of course they have two-factor authentication. Poor person whose phone is connected got pinged when I tried to log in. LOL

I can't wait to hear how Cait and Tom's day went too.

xoxo

@AK_Tracy Poor dog but that shirt is better than the "cone of shame" dogs always look so sad with the cone. Hopefully it is healing well with no problems then the shirt can come off.

@vickyday so glad you were able to eat a little even if it was uncomfortable. I hope you can get some more food in today.

It was a bad hip day yesterday so I really didn't do much. My friend came over so we went out to look at my plants and I gave here a few pieces of plants. When she left I talked with the neighbors they gave me a whole bunch of plantains they won't use so I will let them ripen a little then make some friend plantains or Mofongo if I really feel like cooking.. Jay was working at the club office so when he came home we had lunch then watched some travel shows. One about Lousianna and the other Missisissippi so got some ideas for a trip. He doesn't want to go west next summer too much driving so maybe we could revisit these two before heading to CT. to see family.
My goal for today is clear some pics off my phone so I have space for some photos of Germany. Hip is a little better so far but I think I will still try to take it easy so the inflammation will come down. It's in the 80's here so I am loving it.
A group of us will be going to lunch then to see the movie Downton Abby on Wednesday I am excited to do that. We have watched them all and gone to the movies together it's a special time for us.

I hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

@vickyday @AK_Tracy @BoatLady I'll pass the anniversary wishes along to the kids today.

@Terri M Woo hoo! I hope that you enjoy the two days of downtime.
Did you apologize to the coleus? I always feel bad for my plants when I hurt them, especially the indoor ones because they rely on me and I am not good with houseplants.
The trip to Seattle and the Lion King will be well worth every penny. I love having experiences over things, too.
Pretty soon it will be full-on autumn tourism season here, so I'm going to take advantage of our local spots before the crowds arrive.
Same, same, same! The traffic going up the mountain to all of the pick-your-own orchards gets insane in another week or so. Our Autumn Lights Festival was cancelled this year and I don't think I'd ever been so happy about an event getting canceled, especially considering I don't go. (I had to drive Caitlyn to a bridal shower two years ago on the day of this festival. It took me over an hour to go 1.5 miles. We could have walked there and back and still had extra time! I literally can't pull out of my driveway.)

@AK_Tracy We decided to take down the seed feeder for now. The bears will be pretty active for the next few weeks and even though we rarely see them here anymore, this little guy is too young to really know to stay away from humans (or is it the other way around? Hahah!). I'll keep the hummingbird feeders up since they have been busy at the feeders and shouldn't attract the bears back.
So happy that you got an appt with the chiro this week.

@BoatLady My parents are the same way when it comes to the g-kids. They won;t spend an extra 50 cents on themselves but the kids? Whatever they need... ;)
Yeah, I like nature but I don't want critters in my house!
So sorry that the hip is giving you trouble. That's too bad about the cortizone and gel not being an option :(

Tracy!! I adore those pages of Nellie. I love the "disgusted" expression on her face!

TTYS!

Good Morning!
It a fine rainy fall day (again). Temps are cool low 40° in the morning. We had to adjust the amount of "open window" we had and reduce it as it was getting cold. Tonight I will probably open it more and add a blanket instead. We're loosing leaves already and fully into the fall season. BUT that does NOT mean we need pumpkin spice everything!

Poor dog but that shirt is better than the "cone of shame" dogs always look so sad with the cone. Hopefully it is healing well with no problems then the shirt can come off.
Yes, I was surprised they didn't send her home with a cone of shame but then I realized it wouldn't do any good. She can't lick her shoulder. But they didn't do anything and when I saw her scratch herself, ooohhhh that wasn't gonna work. So she got a shirt of shame instead LOL She hasn't worn it for a day and she's careful how she scratches. Its no longer numb and her meds are gone. So she's being careful. Its funny to see as she is the least slow, careful dog we have.
Tracy!! I adore those pages of Nellie. I love the "disgusted" expression on her face!
She was so disgusted when we put the shirt on her. And it made her walk funny. She was very resistant to going potty too cause "mom it feels weird". We did the 70's tie a knot in the hem to cinch it up around her middle.

Nessie cracks me up too, as you can see in the one photo, she rests her head on anything and everything. She is famous for turning on the air purifier because she just lays her head on the controls and stares. Then the air starts fluffing her fur. I think she enjoys the air flow but its so funny to see. Just random all of a sudden the machine is running. :giggle4:

Speaking of the dogs, they're all staring me down. Once the last dog wakes up they start bugging me for food, no matter what time it is. Guess I better listen to the little furry masters of the house. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning ladies. A quick in and out for me. I have to post a LO and then get on with straightening up the house and getting ready for game day. Today we'll play Tripoley, each with a $20 buy-in for chips. Should be a lot of fun. I think we'll do this every month or so. The dogs are fine. It was concerning when we found another foxtail spur deep in one of Bella's pads but Jen was able to dig it out, so Bella couldn't ingest any more of that stuff. Whew.

As for the clothes, I hung up moth catchers (not one stuck to 3 we hung up) and have inspected every piece of clothing I have and I haven't found any more holes anywhere. I also did not find any evidence of moth larvae when inspecting closets/drawers/clothing. I do feel like it is a snag in the washer/dryer or, too much wear/tear from the spinner. So to be safe, I am turning anything with a zipper inside out and washing on delicate cycle with one 2 bars of a 4 bar spinner selection. Hopefully that is the problem and if I am more careful now, it won't happen again. It gives me a yucky feeling and it's going to be awhile before I can put on clothing without first inspecting b/c now I'm so paranoid about it.

Well, I'm waiting to eat as my stomach is telling me not to try it yet. I had a Veggies Made Great pumpkin cranberry muffin for breakfast at 10 along with my coffee. I'm not feeling like I can eat anything yet at 2:18.

HI Everyone, it's been a while. It's a super busy season at work, and I'm still catching up from being gone at Erinn's for a few weeks. This is the first evening in a week I've been able to sit down at the computer. I miss you all!
@BoatLady do I see you're going to Germany? How long are you going for? Any special occasion? I hope your hip handles the trip ok!
@AK_Tracy poor Nessie! That incision looks gigantic, but that green suit is the cutest. The way you wrapped it up around his middle and his little legs sticking out! :heartpumpred:
@faerywings how has it been a year for Cait and Tom! That went FAST! Hope they had a great 1st anniversary!
Praying that Kay @BrightEyes is feeling better and doing ok! I couldn't see your bear video here but I'll check it out on FB!
Heading over to the gallery to leave some love and to check in on my challenge thread! Hope you all are doing well!
