The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Thank goodness it is Saturday and I didn't have to deal with an alarm clock this morning. I guess i was still keyed up and adrenaline-ized when I went to bed. I could not fall asleep even though I was so darn tired. usually I have no trouble falling asleep, it is the staying asleep that is hard for me.

Our tattoos came out amazing!!! We couldn't stop looking at them yesterday. Caitlyn's is on her back so she can't see hers. Mine is up my upper shoulder so I can't see all of mine, so we have to look at each others. :D She was amazing, didn't even flinch. The artist was funny and we had a good time busting on each other. At one point during mine, someone said something so funny that I had to hold my breath so I wouldn't bust out laughing. I had to wait for him to take a break to laugh.

we got to my mom's a little earlier than we expected and my dad was still there. He was heading to a fire dept meeting at 6 and we had planned to have my mom tell him when he got home. His first reaction was UGH!!!!! And ICK!!!!!!!! And GROAN!!!!!! But when he got a better look at them, and heard that I had designed it myself, he seemed much happier. It was a low bar but it was in the right direction. hahaha!!!

I also was successful in finding a green scarf for Leah- I hope that she likes it. The gift shop was also running a sale of buy one, get one 50% off. SIL's b-day is next month and I found a gorgeous ring hold done like fake Baleek with Celtic knot patterning around it. She is very Irish and I know that she will like it. 2 gifts for $23. Good score!

I still have MIL/FIL's b-days on the 28th and 29th, and have no clue for them, they are so hard to shop for, which is why I typically make them something. But I have time, only a little but still it is something...

Have a fantastic weekend!

Trudy- Were you able to get back to sleep yesterday? The sign came out so nice- love the quote! when my guys were little (well, even now...) I used to say a dirty kid was a happy kid. I was kind of an outcast while the rest of the moms were running around with hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes. but the frame and rustic-ness is perfect! Glad that she liked it, but how could she not?
Sciatica sucks, have you tried a heat pack? Turmeric also helps inflammation so i would imagine that it could help the nerve?
Are your muscles any less sore today?

nancy- what a morning you had. At least you don't have to worry about the guys being in your way this morning. Or maybe since it is Saturday it is even worse.
Does your hubby work at LIU? I was listening to a news show yesterday and they were interviewing some students who were protesting the lock out. One said that the teachers that have coming in are admitting that they are not qualified to teach the classes. I imagine that the University is not cheap with tuition and i would be :yell: too
Good for your son on getting down to half a pack!!!! :high5: It was weird yesterday, the tattoo artist would take a quick break and run out for a cigarette. Most of my friends and family don't smoke anymore, so to keep smelling it on him gave me such cravings. 25 years later, with a few slip ups but still!
Happy b-day to your hubs!

Rae- Sorry to hear that you didn't sleep well either. Hopefully you will get used to his breathing quickly or it is going to be a long few weeks. Great idea to get Taz out and about too. It is always fascinating to me how dogs have such pack-instincts. Do you remember how Ray would nark her head off at other dogs who played "rough" with Jaida at the park? So mellow at home, but she wanted the other dogs that J was under her protection.
Have a relaxing time at the trailer!

good morning - the weather men are saying that today is our last day of hot and humid weather and I am hoping they are right. Luther is good about early and late walks and my son took him this am. I have one load of wash done already so good and 2 more to go. LOL We are off to my girlfriends for a BBQ and boy will it be hot outdoors. Glad I am not grilling! We are in charge of dips and chips. Yesterday was fun as I watched team USA defeat Canada and while it was just a pregame the two teams were not just taking it easy. But it was great to see the USA win. Also watched some tennis and some baseball. Even scrapped a bit. It was good.

Chris so glad the tattoo session went so well and you are both happy with the way they turned out. Glad you dad took it so well! The scarf sounds lovely. Chris we were just like you and still am as we did not care if the boys got dirty! And they were happy!

Trudy hope you went back sleep and the rest of the day went well. I am loving the World cup of hockey. Is your MG watching?

Rae hope you are sleep better and get used to noisy doggie breathing. Luther so far is a pretty quiet sleeper. And it seems that Rae that you and I have been posting at the same time. Pretty funny considering how many time zones between us. Have a great time at the trailer.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Beckham woke me up at 6:40 so let my hubs sleep, got up and let the dogs out, have coffee brewing and am sitting in the living room enjoying the quiet morning No neighbors are here this wkend, in fact, only a few families are here at all this wkend. We'll be going into town in a few hours to get some shopping done but have to call comcast first. Our tv lost the signal last night just before bedtime and is still out. If I disappear today and part of tomorrow, you know it's b/c we lost the internet too. I have no idea what's going on. I'll call them after I have a few sips of coffee and feed the dogs first. Hopefully in town we'll find a few blankets/afghans for the couch and chairs at home. I want to find warm tones of beige/cream and a bit of rust/orange would be ok. Taz needs his salmon jerky which we can buy in a big bag here but they don't sell large quantities anywhere at home. That was the first thing he showed Beckham when we got to the trailer, the cupboard with the jerky bag in it LOL. He sits down at it and gently paws at the cupboard door to say he'd like one.

Chris - glad you both love your tats and you should take pics and scrap about it. Good score on the birthday gifts. I love scarves too and love sweater weather so I can wear my scarves.

Nancy - not sure what the time difference is between us, according to my time zone, you posted today at 6:02 am. Enjoy your BBQ with friends today. Hope its not too hot to enjoy being outside. This week our temps are around 73 which is just perfect for me.

I'm going to grab a coffee and feed the dogs now and read a few pages of my book before dealing with comcast. Have a great day, everyone.

Happy Saturday ladies!! It looks like its going to be a pretty nice day here! So I am sure that MG will keep me busy with yard work etc LOL! For a change he has gone back to bed as he woke up very early and I actually slept until almost 8am. Had a fabulous sleep, but it probably won't happen again tonight. Yesterday I got some painting done I had done an abstract for the living room and it was on such a large wall that I felt it needed two other paintings on either side. So I finally found two canvases the right size and got those done yesterday. It was a bit hard trying to match up the colours perfectly, but it turned out pretty good.

Chris - WTG on the great finds for birthday gifts! I love scarfs too but probably don't wear them as often as I would like. I usually am in such a hurry to get out the door that I forget to wear them :becky: Yes I did fall back to sleep yesterday morning and slept like a log for another 2 hours! Sorry that you had such a hard time getting to sleep last night! I am like you and usually never have a problem getting to sleep, but have a hard time staying that way :mmph: So happy that your tats turned out great! My MG would have been the same as your Dad, grumble, grumble what would you want to do that for??? LOL

Nancy - Hope that the heat is not as bad as they say it will be for your BBQ! Nice to know that you will be getting a much needed break from all that heat and humidity! DD and family are in the hot and humid too, she is not liking it one bit, they have air conditioning but it is still so hard to sleep for them. Everyone is grumpy!! Yes MG is watching the hockey and was a bit disappointed that Canada lost but it will be a great rivalry with lots of action! He is very happy to be seeing the guys on the ice again!

Rae - Hope that your problems with the tv signal gets all straightened out for you quickly! Hopefully it will not affect your internet that would really suck! So cute about Taz showing off where his treats are hidden! What a character he is!! Enjoy your nice quiet time at the trailer!!

Got some bad news yesterday, SIL's Son and DIL are expecting again, baby #3 , but some complications have come up and she is not doing very well with this pregnancy. SIL is off to Edmonton to help out. Keeping our fingers crossed that all will be ok for them. Then MIL phoned last night to say the her sister just had a stroke. OMG I guess she has many blood clots and she is in hospital, her son has flown out to help out as Auntie's DH is not well either and he needs to get to Calgary to get some much needed help with what he suffers from too. Who is there for Auntie?? Oh brother!! We wait with baited breath to hear more news.
Ok I better get some brunch going here soon, then off to do some grocery shopping and other errands. Wonder what kind of trouble we can get into this weekend??

Chris, I saw the tattoos on FB - they look great! Are you and Cait going to get them colored, or just leave them as outlines?

Trudy, my heart goes out to you and the extended family - wow, that's a lot to process in just 24 hours. Hoping everyone pulls through okay.

It is 9-11, 15th anniversary. Seems so crazy that it was that long ago, but at the same time doesn't feel like 15 years. Last year, when Caitlyn was stuck taking a Freshman science class, she realized that the kids in the class weren't even born or had just been born. She doesn't remember much of it, except that we let her eat lollipops at 10 am, hiding under the kitchen table. We had been to the vet for a 9am appt, and we always got lollipops on the way out, but the rule was always that they had to save it until after dinner. I wonder if they remember that we lit a candle at dinner time every night for months for those who died, were missing, joining/re-joining the Military, and esp the first responders.

I should do that again tonight. Small gesture but still something. My dad is going to a county-wide ceremony with local police and fire. He goes every year. My goodness, I still remember begging him not to go to NYC that day. He and one of his best friends, firefighter and cop, were all set to go, it is the core of their beings. Thankfully, emergency service coordinators in the City asked for them to stay put so he stayed back here. I never really ask him how he relates to it. I know that I still get choked up seeing the pictures of the firefighters that day, covered in the dust, thinking that it could have been him.

On a lighter note, Caitlyn has been cracking me up. She doesn't have classes on Fridays, and all day yesterday it felt like a Sunday to her. She was ecstatic that she still had one more day off from school. I am happy that I didn't have an alarm go off either.

On a more  note- I caved. Big time. I had said over and over that I was not doing the big September B-day Bash, that I did not have it in me this year. Yesterday morning, we were trying to figure out how we were going to see everybody and how all of the family who wanted to see Cait would get to, and it became one huge nightmare. Now we are doing the Bash on Sept 24. Yippee.
Its all good, I know everyone will bring something, and it is just family and all that. OTOH- I know myself all too well and the brain is already stressing that I have to steam clean the carpets and clean the house and... :blah:

Today I have nothing much to do, I have to do the usual house work stuff, and if it stops drizzling, I would love to get outside to do some yard work. Scott brought me home some more plants on Friday. I don't do mums, they are too expensive for just a month or so. I also want to hang on to summer as long as possible so I don't want to make the house look to Autumn-y just yet. But he got some really cool looking plum colored plants and some non-stop begonias in a deep pink. I potted them up yesterday and he was outside with me and I just said how much I love dirt. LOL

I am going to post this and then be back for personals xo

Nancy- I hope that the temps stay but the humidity goes. Was there any shade at the BBQ or was the humidity making it sticky no matter where you were? You had a sports-filled day too- you must have been in heaven!
RE: dirty/happy kids: yesterday Scott and are were checking out some of the little gardens, and he had bare feet. We have sparse, rocky grass, brown grass from dog pee, deer and rabbit poop, dog poop- you know the kind of lawn, right? When I said to him that he shouldn't be walking barefoot, he said, Mom, you know that exposure to bacteria helps you build your resistance to other bacteria. :pound:

Both of my dogs are quiet sleepers. However, Jaida, being the brick that she is, cannot be moved. At all. So if she is on my feet, and I can't get them out from under her, they will fall asleep. if she rests her head on mine, i can't breathe. Thankfully she is only 60lbs, if she were Luther's size I don't know what I would do. Ray will happily move if you nudge her. Jaida- not an inch.

Rae- oh how nice to have a quiet morning with the dogs and coffee. Hope the whole weekend was/is peaceful and that you were able to get everything fixed with Comcast.
Did you have luck with your shopping and salmon jerky? Taz is hysterical!! I love that he will show the other dogs where you keep the treats. :D
You probably saw-- I did scrap a page about the tattoos. I like the way that came out as well.

Trudy- I can't wait to see your new paintings! I love how creative you are. I don't feel that I am very creative, but I am always thrilled to be around so many other creative/artistic people. Maybe one day it will rub off on me. ha!!!
Did YMG make you work all day? If he did, i hope that you were able to enjoy a nice glass of wine together on your deck when you were done.
Oh no, that is horrible news about all of the issues with the family. Lots and lots of good thoughts going out to them. Please keep us posted.

Kat- thanks about the tattoos. One of the new trends is just black work so they will stay black. I asked him how much it would cost to get the armband touched up since it is so faded. He looked at it and said their wouldn't be much he could do, unless it was a cover up. Can't do that, the armband is for Caitlyn (not that you can tell since the name is totally blurred at this point hahah!!) and it would feel wrong dodo anything different.
How is your hubs doing post-surgery? Hope he is healing well, and the light isn't bothering him too much. When FIL had similar surgery his eye watered non-stop for a long time and the light was terrible for him.

Have a fantastic day to everyone who reads this!::grouphug

Good morning - I too cannot believe it has been 15 years since 9/11. It is one of those days where you always remember where you were and those that were lost.

The BBQ was fun with one exception. It really was the hottest and most humid. My girlfriend was doing all the grilling in the sun and had been running around all day. She finished the grilling sat down and she started to shake and passed out - we got her cooled down and inside with lots of fluids and gatorade. But it was scary to see her come down with heat exhaustion. Fortunately she recovered and then of course was embarrassed but we have been friends so long that it was fine. The food and talk was great and then the wind picked up as the sun went down and it was an awesome evening. It was also fun as her daughter and SIL and grandson were there and OMgosh is he a cutie. Came home and watched the US hockey lose to the Canadian team. This time the Canadian team looked much better and it was sad because my NJ Devils goalies gave up all 4 goals to Canada. Some were flukey but he and the team need to be better. The US has one more pre game on Tuesday so we will see how they look then. Today is pretty calm. Luther to his bath and then a late evening walk.

Chris I love the page and the FB photos of the tattoos. I would never do it myself but I respect those that do as it is commitment. The design is really pretty. We have sun and no rain. I am hoping that humidity goes soon. Your dad is special - I am glad to know there are men like him wanting to protect and fight fires!

Rae how sweet of Taz to show of where the treats are. How wonderful to have a really quiet time at the trailer but hope Comcast comes through so it is not too quiet. LOL. I have been posting late morning which is probably your morning so I felt we were posting at the same time.

Trudy scrapping and painting and helping the MG - I need some of that energy. I am so sorry about your family and all the health issues. I hope you get lots of good news!

Kat hope your DH is doing we after the surgery!

Morning ladies... I too can't believe it was 15 years ago that 9/11 happened!! Like everyone else I remember clearly just where we were and what we were doing! We watched in horror as those planes crashed. A day that will live forever in our minds and hearts!

Chris - You sound like me, I would have caved too on the party thing, but don't stress about it , you know its just family and they will all help you out! I am sure they won't care if your carpet is not steam cleaned...Chill my faery friend!! I love your tattoo design, you are very talented you know! I could never have come up with that design! Nice work!

Kat - Thanks for the kind words about my family! No real updates yet, hopefully we will hear very soon! Hope your hubby is doing well after his surgery, anything to do with eyes kinda freaks me out, I would be terrified to have that done! I don't tell my DH that though as he has to have the same thing done soon. So far he is ok with it.

Nancy - Yes DH kept me busy with some yard work, but the backyard is looking pretty good and so today we need to do some trimming up of bushes etc in the front. He was very sweet yesterday and took me shopping for a new backpack for my hikes, we found a very nice one at Alberni Outpost that is nice and light and small and has a built in water resivoir, many little compartment and a special holder for my iPhone. It is really cool!

Rae - Hope you have been enjoying your time at the trailer, did you get the problem solved with Comcast? Hope the lineups back across the border are not too long for you today!

Ok I better get some breakfast going, DH wants bacon (what man doesn't lol) so he is cooking it on the BBQ to keep the smell outside. Hoping to do some more scrapping today! Have a good Sunday everyone!

Hi girls! Happy Sunday! I'm actually logged into my work laptop and have been working for the past couple of hours ... and figured I needed a quick break :) Thanks for all the well-wishes for Bill. He's doing really well, even talking about when he might get the other eye done. The only thing he's noticed is there's still a little bit of fogginess, which the doctor says will clear up as the cornea swelling goes down ... and he says colors are a little different vs. his "natural" lens eye (they are lighter/brighter). Other than some post op. nausea, he's been fine. Trudy, the surgery was something like 30 minutes, that was all ... Bill's had no visible swelling or bruising. He'll be back at work tomorrow. I agree with you, though ... anything that has to do with poking, prodding or touching my eyes ... *** shudder *** That is why I refuse to get contacts and I stick with glasses ... I just can't! LOL

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday was a fun day. We spent the morning/afternoon in two shopping and the dogs traveled well together in the back seat of the car. Beckham loves to hang his head out the window with the wind blowing on him. They were funny at the pet store, Taz runs right to the small animal dept with the guinea pigs, fish, birds, etc and Beckham runs right to the food section. We got new pillows, throws and blankets for the new furniture. I am a stickler about coordinating colors and my hubs doesn't bother to try to deter me as he knows he won't win LOL. The pillows, throws, etc matched the old couch/chair but I won't use them for the new stuff. It's my quirky thing, color coordination is important to me. I'm super happy with what we found and with my Kohls cash, discount coupon and using my casino winnings, it was a great shop! We both bought some new fall clothes too which was fun. The rest of my winnings we put on account for our trailer strata fees so we're covered for almost the next year.

Then we came back to the trailer and watched three movies, Takers, Social Network and Wolf of Wall Street. All 3 were really good. WOWS is a really long movie and didn't finish until midnight so it was bedtime after that. I didn't scrap much b/c I got so caught up in the movies. As for 09/11, I too remember that day all too well. I was stressed all day, trying to work but constantly going into the kitchen to watch the little tv and see the updates. I had a really hard time that day keeping focused and struggled into the night to get my work done as I kept spacing out and feeling sad.

Chris - you are so talented and yes, I saw the tats page you did and love the page and the tats! Great designs.

Trudy - how sweet of your MG to get you a new backpack for your hikes. It's a gorgeous wkend to be outdoors, isn't it? I have enjoyed getting the dogs out a lot and will get out into our garden and do a bit of weeding later

Nancy - scary about your friend passing out from the heat. Glad she's ok and the evening was enjoyable once it cooled off.

Kat - glad to hear your hubs is doing well after surgery. Don't work too hard today. I'm going to have to do a bit of work when I get home later as I left a few reports undone on Friday so need to get them done before Monday morning. Luckily it's only going to be about 1/2 hour or so to get it done.

I'm going to finish my coffee, tidy up and we'll hit the road, hoping the border traffic isn't too bad. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
