September. Already... feels kind of crazy. I wonder if I will ever be totally ready for the end of summer switch?
Yesterday really felt more like autumn than summer. It was cold and rainy which make it dark and dreary inside and outside. At least today will be sunny later on.

Getting my hair cut felt great, even though I had it pulled back as soon as I got back home. As least my ends aren't fried crisp anymore. :whoo:
I didn't get any boxes into the attic, nor did I do any housework. I did go to Walgreens with Cait to help her pick out hair dye for her. She wants to freshen it up a bit since the ends are lighter than her roots. That took *forever* ha!! I ended up making homemade black bean burgers for dinner- another of my "takes forever to cook but worth it since they are yummy" meals.

Gary and I are dropping off a few boxes of books that didn't sell last week. The library collects books and uses them for a fundraiser. Then off to the food pantry. When I get home I have no choice but to do some cleaning here. The house is gross!

Who has fun plans for this long weekend?

Trudy- :welcome: back!!!! We have missed you here! I can't imagine how tired and cranky I would have been with 2 solid months of travel and family fun like you had. Such a let down physically and mentally. Hugs, darling!
I really hope that your ankle is just acting up since you haven't had time to truly rest it but good idea to go to the Dr in case it isn't.

You can try taking turmeric for the tendonitis and inflammation.
Can't wait to see all of your photos! Your Gary must have missed you a lot, how sweet to have the house cleaned and flowers. (For me a clean house it much nicer than flowers-- but to have both! Good man!!!)

Rae- enjoy your time at the trailer and get some rest!!

Jean- I don't blame you one bit for not feeling chatty after your tooth extraction. Is it any better today?
My knees were *killing* me after all of that walking the other day. Thank goodness, they are much better today, just a bit achy on the stairs.
Thank you for the support in advance, you know that I am going to be crying my heart out when the rats pass on.

Felis- you have to do what is right in your heart with the challenges. keep scrapping because *you* want to. No one else.

Good morning O-zies... I am up pretty early this morning and sad to see how dark it still is now. :mmph: I totally want to re-do summer please!! Yesterday I spent most of the day scrapping a page for the new Template challenge, so fun to go through my photos of our trip to Paris and relive the fun we had with Jason and Jackie! Then I paid off some bills and cleaned the bathrooms. My Gary did have the house clean for my return, but his idea of clean in the bathrooms and mine are not quite the same LOL. I did a bit of shopping online at the IKEA store and ordered some drawer organizers and a few other small things. While I was in Toronto with Jason and family, Jackie and I hit their local IKEA store and spent a good portion of the day there. I got so many wonderful ideas, but not enough room in my luggage to bring home all that I wanted. :becky: Today will be spent running around and getting our errands done. Grocery shopping and going to the wine store to start a few new batches of wine and perhaps a trip to Winners to see what is new in the store. I will be needing a few new fall outfits as I dropped a few more pounds over the summer and my clothes are all fitting pretty losely. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we still have some warm days ahead of us and I can get to the beach and just laze around for a day or two. We were invited to dinner at my brother's on the river for Sunday. It is his birthday and it will be nice to spend the day with them and celebrate his special day! We usually don't see him on his birthday as they are usually travelling somewhere. DH will be painting the trim on the large front windows this weekend, so I am nervous for him to be up so high on the ladder and will be keeping a close eye on him for sure! I wish he would just hire someone else to do it, but he is one stubborn man!!

Chris - Too bad that you did not get your cleaning done, but shopping for new hair colour sounds like it was more fun than housework! Hope that the sun comes out for you today and that you can soak up some more sunshine and warmth to get you through the day! I am not looking forward to the dark, dreary days of winter either and I can't believe how fast this summer went by! Thanks for the suggestion of the tumeric I will give it a try for sure! I bet your haircut feels so much better, sometimes I wish my hair was long enough to put it up in a pony, but I don't think I could stand growing it out now LOL. Enjoy the weekend!

Felis - I am sad that you are so disheartened by the challenges! I hope that you continue to scrap just for your pleasure! Oh and Storm adjusted to her new home very well! She has an off leash park very near to her and they take her out to it almost every day. She has a nice big backyard to play in or just laze around in and she is a very happy dog! Jackie takes her for a run while she rides her bike, so she is getting lots of excercise.

Jean - Ouch! Having a tooth extracted is never a fun thing to do! How nice to have the visit from the Coopers Hawk, what a treat! I will be taking your advice and will start at the begining with my scrapping, it will be a good way to do it and hopefully will jog my memory of the days in Paris. I wish that I would have kept a journal darn it!

Rae - Have a wonderful time at the trailer! Sure hope that the lineups at the border crossing are not too heavy and that you have a good relaxing time! Have a fun time shopping and then a nice visit with B!

Nancy - :hello: I hope you are enjoying a great Saturday morning!

I need some coffee and then I suppose I will start another scrap page of our trip. Always looking for some great travel kits so if any of you have any suggestions let me know. Enjoy your Saturday ladies!

Mouth is still partly puffy and sore, so don't know what's up with that. I can eat so that isn't a problem. We watched the first half of the Ohio State football game but they haven't started the second half due to a rain delay. I don't believe we're supposed to get any rain, so it was a surprise (they're not that far away, but far enough).

Felis, you'll have to go with how you feel, but it is disappointing that it is stressful for you.

Chris, what a goof looking for the right hair coloring for Cait. Any time the two of you spend together can be that way, right? Hope you warmed up today and got some cleaning done.

Trudy, nice start to the Paris pages. I did a search of the shop for "Paris" and saw some cool things including Maya's "Ooh La La." She also has "Travelers Treasure Box" and there is at least one Oscraps Collab on travel. I think you'll find a lot. Have fun at the brother's birthday! How nice to spend it together.

Rae and Nancy, hope you're having a relaxing weekend.

Sunday is here! And a sunny if a bit chilly one so far. I guess that is was September (boooo hissss!!!) is all about.
I am trying to no obsess about the weather for my little getaway next week. I know that it is too far away to be accurate but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is at least good enough to wander in the town if it isn't strictly beach weather.
I had a pretty productive day yesterday. Gary and I dropped off several boxes of books for the sale at the library. Dropped off 3 bags at clothes for donation and got a garbage bag out of the attic, ready to go to the curb on Tuesday. Gary came with me to the Pantry and got to see the mural of Jesus that looks like Scott.

I have to post this-- BRB!

Ok, I am back, I needed Gary to help me print something and of course, it was much more complicated than Ctrl-P LOL
After the FP, nothing exciting other than cleaning my kitchen and dining area really well.
My parents are coming up to see the kids before they go back to school so we have bagels for breakfast with them. The rest of the day, I am going to see if I can do a bit of yard work and plan out my week. The next few months will be very busy, so I need to stick to a good, strong schedule. Rae!! I need your help!!

Hoping that everyone has a wonderful and relaxing day!
xoxo

Trudy- I hear ya-- it is dark so much longer these days. That makes me so sad. What fun you must have going through all of your photos, reliving your summer! My fingers are crossed that you get some good summery days too. What is it with stubborn men?

Jean- has the swelling gone down yet? Is that normal? Hope that it is all down by now.

Hugs to everyone!

good late morning - have been having a nice quiet weekend. Taking Luther for walks and he likes it as it is cooler. No rain for us yesterday and none today but you can feel the humidity climbing. I am still scrapping Alaska but I was going to take a break and down load my photos to an EHD so I went to Best Buy and got two. Well somehow I screwed up the EHD as it was for both Mac and PC. I did not mess up my computer so I am hoping my son can figure this all out. If not I will just have to get one made for a Mac. I just did not think it would be this confusing. LOL. Something that should be so straight forward is not all because they won't use the same coding. Angry at me and them. LOL Watched lots of baseball and tennis. And now I am watching the Vuelta a Espana (tour of Spain) bicycle race. It is fun to see these countries as they fly by on their bikes.

Chris glad you made it to the FP and Gary helped. Your burgers sound good! Hope you get your cleaning done. Have fun with bagels and family!

Trudy how good to see you back. Wow what a busy summer! I am so sorry about the ankle and tendinitis. I am going to my knee doctor soon to figure out what I should do. From everyone I talk to they all say why did they wait so long. We are again having a heat wave starting on Tuesday and I would gladly send you a few degrees for your summer. Going to look for your Paris pages. That is such a beautiful fun city and to travel with someone who is fluent in French has to make it so much easier!

Rae hope you are having a relaxing time at the trailer! Enjoy the time! I bet Taz is ready for long walks.

Jean OMgosh to have a Coopers in your yard is so cool! We have not seen many migrants yet either. Hope the puffiness goes away fast! Glad you are able to eat with not problems!

Felis glad to know you are going to scrap!

Good morning ladies. Jen and I were gone all day yesterday, shopping and enjoying our time together, just hanging out and chatting. We both bought purses and clothes. We got a big haul from Trader Joes and Whole Foods. We came back for dinner and then we watched more episodes of Castle Rock. We have 2 left to watch so maybe tonight or tomorrow if Jen comes over to the house. We're going home at lunch time today, Taz and I will go for a run and then up to see B for the afternoon. Tomorrow morning we head out to meet some friends and the guys are going skydiving. In the afternoon I need to organize the freezers and figure out what freeze-ahead meals I need to make to stock up again.

Chris - enjoy the bagels and family visit. I've got a busy week ahead too. I try to plan things out but it never seems to go exactly how I want it.

Trudy - enjoy visiting your brother today. Good for you for staying on track health-wise over the summer and losing a few more lbs.

Nancy, Jean and Felis - hope all is well.

Have a great day, everyone.

Morning everyone... It is sunny here so far this morning. Although a bit on the cool side, yes Chris I suppose that is what September is all about :mmph: I was reading yesterday that here in Canada we are to expect a bit more summer weather for September and that our Winter will be mild and wet (what else is new?) LOL although the farmers almanac is predicting a horribly cold and long winter. :noidea: Yesterday was filled with running around to HomeDepot, the wine store and grocery shopping nothing too exciting or eventful happened. I purchased two very nice large potted mums for the front porch and changed the front door wreath to match the season, what an exciting life I live LOL.

Chris - You had a very productive day yesterday! It must feel good to get some purging done! How funny that there is a mural of Jesus that looks like Scott, you really need to post a photo!! Hard to fathom that the kids will be going back to school, although I think that Heather is ready for Mason to be back into his school schedule and give her a break from having both boys home. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that the weather cooperates for your beach getaway and I truly hope that you get to spend some time just relaxing with your feet in the sand! Hope you have a lovely visit with your parents and enjoy the bagels!!

Nancy - Ugh on the EHD issues, I know that happened to me the first time that I bought an EHD and did not format it for my Mac. Thank goodness my son knew what to do with it! The next one I bought was made specifically for a Mac so no problems with it at all. Good luck with yours I hope it gets fixed for you! Yes get that knee looked after! I am still trying to convince my DH that these are his active years and he should be getting his knees replaced pronto!! Why wait until you are 80 and you don't travel etc like you do when you are younger??? I don't understand why he puts up with the pain??? MEN!! Enjoy the rest of your quiet weekend and have fun watching the bicycle racing, I bet the views are amazing!

Jean - I hope that your mouth is not swollen anymore and thanks for the kit suggestions, I will have to look at Maya's O la la kit for sure. It will be nice to celebrate my brother's birthday and sit outside and admire the view on the river. They live in such a beautiful place!

Rae and Felis - :hello: I hope you are having a great weekend!

Off to the shower and then :washing: and hopefully some scrapping, but first I need to make a salad to take for dinner tonight. Have a lovely Sunday!
