Happy happy Weekend to you all!
I slept late, I must have been exhausted. Then I had to slowly drink coffee while I tried to catch up on the news that I missed yesterday. That was bonkers. So here I am, still moving slowly and I have a busy day ahead.

The stain on the table looks great!! It is going to take a bit of getting used to since it went from a high-gloss, dark brown to a matte grey. But I think it is going to look really nice esp. after I paint the rest of the house. I am not looking forward to that project, it is gonna be rough. That was pretty much my entire day and will be again today too. I was hoping to get a coat of the poly on before I went to the Pantry this morning but I don't think I am going to have time and I don't want to rush it.

Caitlyn, Gary, and I started rewatching The Haunting of Hill House. Man, that show is *creepy* and I love it.
other than that, I am trying to ignore the weather reports for the end of the week. The sunny and 70* weather down the shore is now switching to rain and 60*. Ugh. Nothing we can do other than wait and see.

xoxo!

Trudy- 20 laps aren't bad at all after such a long break, you will be back up to 30 in no time! Have fun crafting and card making.

Jean- Enjoy the open house today!! Great idea to bring the pumpkins for your table.

Kay- I hope that each day brings you a bit closer to feeling better. H Why is it that things can get so screwed up in tech- and you have no idea how it happened??? That happens all of the time and it makes me crazy Happy that you were able to figure out PSE relatively quickly.

I am here and barely awake... need my coffee to get the brain to working this AM. Yikes... I must be sick as I ended up taking a 2 hour nap yesterday afternoon and dragged around the rest of the day. Ended up in bed and asleep by 8:30 PM last night.

Chris, I was so glad I figured out what was going on with PSE and the bounding box. Think that part of the problem maybe with my computer as the new keyboard/mouse is also acting flaky at times. Going to switch USB ports where I have the key to them plugged in as that might be part of the problem. I am thinking that I need to talk to Son-in-law about getting Hubby's computer set up for me ASAP. My computer is over 7 years old and DH's is only 3 years old and hasn't been used the past 2 years. DSiL said he could 'mirror' my computer and transfer everything to hubby's... that would be great. He also suggested that we set up another of DH's computers as a back-up once we get the switch done. Yes, DH had a couple of other computers plus a laptop - all of which are newer than mine. Makes sense to get them set up before mine goes belly-up. Been there and done that... not a fun time! But, I do need to buy a new monitor as the one hooked up to DH's is small and older. Just one more thing to think about. Will talk to SiL about his recommendation.

Chris, glad you got the table scrapped, sanded and stained okay. Yes, taking time to apply the sealer is the right thing. Bet it looks great. Wow, you have lots of ambition to also paint the inside of your house. We have done that and it is huge chore. Hope you get the pantry trip done today. Sorry the trip to shore is looking like the weather will not be so good. We definitely have moved into fall as temps will only be in the mid-70's through the next week.

Trudy, 20 laps sounds great to me.... LOL.... I am sure you will get back up to your normal amount once you get back into it. BTW, thanks for the nice comment on my LO.

Jean, loved the LO with the chipmunk!!! Yes, I am sure your acorns are quite a draw for them.

Going to take a hot shower and see if that will help with the aches/pains and wake me up more. Have a good weekend.

Hi gals I am here late this morning and only can pop in for a few seconds before DH and I are out the door. Our usual busy weekend of grocery shopping and running a few other errands, then hopefully I can get home early this afternoon and start to paint. I posted my latest turtle painting on my facebook page and within minutes it was sold!! Hooray for me!! So today I will get it to the FedEx office and get it shipped out to its new home. I also got two more orders for something similar so I better get started on the paintings! Here is a photo of it, the colours are great and now I just have to remember just what colours I used LOL.

Anyway I will try to come back and catch up with all of you, but no promises LOL. Have a great day ladies!

good late day! Well it was an awesome opening night for my Devils team except they went up 4-0 and then lost in a shoot out 5-4. My goalie had to leave the game with cramping but until then he was really good. My son was upset but I told him the Jets are a really good team. It seemed like the team thought the game was over but the Jets said not so fast. But came home and watched the Vegas team again defeat the Sharks. It is not the same Shark team for sure. But at least my team cannot feel bad for long as they play a game tonight in Buffalo. So that too will be fun to watch! Spent a lot of time cleaning out the master bedroom. I found stuff I had been looking for for years. The stuff was put in an old shoe box and not labeled so now I have it all back. I am as happy. One of them is my autographed Hockey fights cancer baseball cap and the other is my autographed Devils purse that my DIL made for me. I also found some autographed pucks. Needless to say I am very happy. Found a lot of maps and brochures from my trips that I can now put in my scrapbook. Again this all makes me happy! LOL

Chris your table sounds like its brand new. Glad you found the energy to redo it since you really did not like it. All I know is I am cold. I am enjoying my space heater. Luther loves it though in fact he was outside for awhile just sleeping in the cold. Your friends home sounds lovely. And yes all homes need work it is never ending.

Trudy I love the turtle painting! I think it is my favorite! His face is so expressive! Have fun out with your MG doing errands.

Kay gosh hope you feel better soon. I have learned to listen to my body too when it says sleep I sleep. My DH always says that I have too many electronics between my computers and iPad and EHD etc. I say you cant have enough. Glad you will be putting these newer ones to good use.

Jean I too am cold. So glad your new art class is going well! Have fun at the open house!

Waving to all - have a great day!

Great day today. Was only in the 40s this morning but sunny and when I came out in the afternoon it was upper 60s or maybe 70s and still sunny. We had a great open house with maybe more guests than members. I did take the pumpkins that I teamed with some "autumn" leaves we have. Tons of goodies and I ate too much. We already seem to have a couple new members and it was fun talking with the guests. After I got home we went to the library where I had books due. Now DH is back to watching college football, the Ohio State game not until later.

Chris, bummer the weather forecast is going south, but maybe it'll come back. Probably good to wait on the table finish until you had more time. Better you than me watching such scary stuff.

Kay, hope that napping helped you catch up and feel a little better. All those newer computers sound like quite a treasure trove, but a bigger monitor would sure be a help. Hope you get them all set up soon. Thanks for comments on the chipmunk. That was neat to get a photo of one in the birdbath.

Wow! Trudy, what a neat turtle painting. Can see why it went immediately. Fun to have more to do on order too. Hope you have some fun while running around on the weekend.

Nancy, I'm impressed you found those goodies in the closet! I have missing things that must be in the house somewhere (put away while painting the LR a few years ago) but neither of us can find them. Must have been a downer when the Devils lost that game but at least they played well in the early part. I guess you'll be watching them on TV while you recuperate, but they'd better do well to aid your rehab. We'll all be waiting anxiously until you can post after the surgery. Many good vibes for the 8th!!!

Felis, how's the weather for shopping Sunday?

Hi to all.

HelllllooooooooooO! I am really behind schedule. I think I have totally run myself ragged but the table is finished and I have to say that I *love* it! The grey is such a nice switch and I am really happy with the matte finish. I will take some pics as soon as I get the area around it cleaned up. I have to poly the bow window shelf today and then I should be done for now. I think I have decided that I am going to eventually paint the chairs to match the pedestal. I want to start that today... but it probably isn't a good idea. I should wait and take a break. How long will that last? Anyone want to make a bet that I cave and start soon? hahaha!

It looks like the shore trip is off. It is going to be cloudy and rainy every day this week. It figures, dammit. Argh! I guess we are just not meant to go. :(

Not much else happening here. I need to get a coat of the poly on now. It is a bit damp today so I am going to need to give it a bit longer in between coats.
BTW- Trudy or anyone else who is interested, the Minwax water-based stain and poly is fab to work with, doesn't have strong fumes and really is easy to clean up.

Perhaps I will have time to scrap today. perhaps...

Kay- Are you still feeling crummy? Sending you some virtual chicken soup and some tea!
DSiL sounds like a great IT guy to have in the family. I think having a back-up computer is a great idea too. I never minded painting. I have a hard time with the ceilings since I am short. My dad would help me with that but at almost 81, I think he deserves a pass. We had a perfect system, he would do the ceiling and I would cut in and together we would roll the walls.

Trudy- That painting is *amazing*!!! You are so freaking talented and creative-- I am in AWE! :hail: Not surprised it sold so quickly!!!

Nancy- sorry that the Devils lost at the end but it must have been exciting for the other 59 minutes! What a nice surprise to find the things that you were looking for.
I have been cold too.

Jean- you are a shade warmer than us, 39* when I woke up yesterday, then into the 60*s. Not happy with that but what can you do. The Open House sounds like it was a great success! Did you sign up a lot of new members?

Whisky is whining at me, better run...xoxo

Trudy... I have to say your paintings are so unique and I bet they are fun to do. It is no wonder that you have buyers ready and waiting.

Wel folks, it has been 6 weeks of house upside down with all the outside renos and fixings being done. The scaffolding just came down. Now I have a muddy mess where it stood, a big maple that was partially cut to fit the scaffolding, and now the tree looks off balance. The inside of the house is a wreck as we had to take all the paintings off the walls, move the dining room table and 2 china cabinets so that nothing fell while the pounding went on outside.
Rot was found along one side of the building caused by leaking siding. All the windows on that side had to be replaced and new siding put on. There was rot in one of the main beams so that was a huge chore to replace and a big post was put up in front of the front door permanently to add extra strength to the replaced beam. Now I am waiting for the drywaller to come and patch the mess inside. They come this Wednesday which means I have 3 days to right the house before I have 8 people over for our Thanksgiving. Needless to say the walls will not be painted. Lol
My dog Joey, has been having more trouble with his back leg than usual so I have been keeping an eye on that. It is like having a baby in the house at night, I am constantly checking to make sure he is on his specially designed bed. He sometimes gets up and sleeps on the floor which means his leg is really bad in the morning. The end result is that I get maybe 5 hours sleep as I have to get up at 6:30 to get hubby off to work.

I got the worst haircut ever last week. I hate it with a passion. It is far, far too short! I know it grows but in the meantime I look just awful. Anybody have a hat?

Oh well these are not earth shattering problems and can be resolved. Otherwise I do want to say I do pop in and read the chatter but often don’t reply ... I am lurking... lol

Well, I am here but still feeling 'off'. Going to be wise - stay in jammies and rest the day away. I did it again yesterday, sat in the recliner reading and nodded off for another 2 hour nap in the afternoon; then did it again later on for another hour. I know that is the body telling me I need the rest. Pretty sure now that is a reaction to the flu shot last week. When I had the flu 2 years ago, I napped alot and just didn't feel good. Thank goodness this isn't near as bad... just feeling 'blah' and no energy.

We have moved into fall temps finally. Woke up cold while still under the covers this AM... so time to put the comforter on the bed. It was 45 when I crawled out of bed. They are talking about the 1st freeze toward the end of the week. The hot air balloons didn't get off yesterday morning due to fog!!! Haven't seen fog here since last spring so that is a good indication that fall has arrived. It is clear but cold this morning. Not going outside to see if the balloons are up - going to stay inside. Need to do a change over from A/C to heat - which means going to the garage and changing out the filter on the A/C- Heater then switching the thermostat to heat. Hope I feel up to that by tomorrow.

Chris, so glad you are happy with the table. Taking a break before you start on the chairs would be good... but not sure you can wait to get started on them. LOL... Sorry the shore trip is off but no need to waste the time, effort and money if weather isn't good.

Trudy, I am blown away by your talent. That turtle painting is fabulous. No wonder it sold as soon as you put up.

Jean, sounds like it was a good turn out and fun meeting. Nice that you have the pumpkins and leaves to use at home now.

Hope everyone has a good time for the rest of the weekend.

We cross-posted, Karen.... what a mess you are dealing with! Too bad it won't be all done by the time you celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving with company coming over. Ah, well... it is what it is and I am sure they will understand.

It is a shame that your haircut was such a bad one. Have had that happen and all you can do is live with it until it grows out. Maybe you can find a tam or other cap to wear when you have to go out. <<< hugs >>>

good day! I had a long post but Safari quit and it is lost so I will be short and just say my Devils need to regroup and start again. Losing 7-2 is not the final score they want. Watching sports today!

Chris so glad the table turned out so well! Sorry about the trip to the shore the weather is going to be so blah!

Kay I hope the rest helps and soon the blahs are gone.

Kath you are a trooper to go through all the renovations. Probably a good thing though that you found the rot!

Jean that is awesome about the open house! It is always fun to talk to new peoples about one's passion.

Have a great day all!
