Good morning and Happy Halloween! :)

OK, there is it, it is all I got this morning. I am wiped out and not feelin' it today. Yesterday was rough. I went to make sure that Caitlyn was out of bed (she has a huge midterm paper due on Monday and she is stressing over it), so I knocked on her door, stopped at the rats' cage to say good morning. I checked to make sure that Cordelia and Olivia were all good, said "hoi" to Evie and Imogene. I commented that Imogene was sleeping hard, usually she hears my voice and knows she is getting Cheerios so she comes running. She woke up, looked around, went back to sleep. I chatted with Caitlyn for a minute, went back to the cage to give them their treats and Imogene was lying on the floor of the cage, very "flat" She was moving and walking a bit, but not very well, you could see that she was suddenly very weak. Caitlyn scooped her up, checked her out, and saw that her tail, ears, and feet were so pale. She called the vet hoping to get her squeezed in but while we were waiting for a call back, she died.
We have no idea what happened to her, she was absolutely fine the day before. I had been up to check on them several times while Cait was at school, gave them bits of apple and Cheerios. They were all good when Cait went to bed. So maybe a stroke? It was just incredibly sudden. We have been so concerned about Liv and Dilly, never expected anything to happen to Imogene. I know you know how much those rats mean to Caitlyn.

Scott was awesome, he went and dug a hole and we did a little ceremony. My goodness, I have to say whenever we sell this house and the next people want to plant anything they are going to think we are monsters. We have 9 rats and 3 cats buried in our yard. They are all in boxes and wrapped in blankets/cloth so hopefully, they will recognize we weren't killing them for fun. It was weird, Caitlyn had taken out the bee cloth that she uses to wrap the rats in, knowing that she will need it for the big girls soon. Bees are a symbol that we use - I am Mama B**** (MB) she is Baby B (BB) so we use bee emojis when we text and our matching tattoos have a bee in them.

So anyway. That was most of my day and I wasn't in the best mood to begin with.
It is raining and it's going to be a mess taking Jaida to the town's rabies clinic. On the bright side, it is better this year than the last time I took her. It was freezing and pouring *buckets* and I had to take J and Ray- thankfully, Scott came with me. We also had my ILs 50th wedding anniversary party that we were throwing them and as soon as I got home, I needed to shower and get dressed and then head down there to help set up. This time I am able to come home and shower and get back into my pajamas if I want. MUCH better!

Wishing all of you a fantastic day!

@tjscraps I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK, I sleep all night and work all day!
look at what a great costume that is!
How is your little one today? Hope she is better, I know how devastating it is for kids to not feel well for Halloween. Your DDs Starbucks costume is totally awesome, I love the straw! :p You are all so creative.

@bcgal00 Oh wow, that sounds absolutely horrible to be in the chair and have that much dental work done. How are you feeling today? You have the sweetest dogs, bet they kept you cozy and relaxed.
I hope that you didn't push too hard with working and then shopping and a flu shot on top of it. Please rest up this weekend!

@taxed4ever I know what you mean-- this rain is too much! Did the sun ever come out? I hope that it does out a bit tomorrow for everyone.
ITA-- all men are so stubborn!
haha, I would love Lumberjack Trina to come and help me with the tree :D

@Cherylndesigns Enjoy the fireplace, I bet that makes it feel a lot more cheerful even if it is dreary and mucky outside.
I knew you weren't making fun of the osteo, and you know me, I make fun of myself *all* the time so even if you were, it would be fine. LOL
Glad that I make you smile, I know I have an "interesting" (aka totally wacky) way of expressing myself. Try picturing my family all together at dinner being weird. That would actually be 5 of us, although Braxton tends to be shy.

@felis That is one of the big conversations we have at dinner-- that adulting is the PITS!!!!! The kids say how much they couldn't wait to be adults and now that they are, they want to go back. Can't say that I blame them, I do too. Adult torture sums it up. Hugs!
You know me too well, it wouldn't be November/December if I wasn't freaking out about *something.*

I have to start my day and I don't wanna!!!

Really quick in and out this morning. Turns out my niece was able to get her RV slider fixed and drove in here yesterday afternoon. She will be coming over this morning to spend the day with me. DD#3 will also be coming over. My niece will stay in town until Monday so will have another fun day with her tomorrow. Need to get off the computer and get dressed before she gets her. CYL

@faerywings Oh Chris, I'm so sorry, my heart goes out to you and Caitlin, the loss of a pet is so hard, especially when it's unexpected. Big hugs to all of you!

I had a rough night with the little, she was coughing so hard she threw up and then it was checking on her every 60-90 minutes to make sure she was ok. She's running around like a banshee this morning (with the cough but otherwise fine), I think the throwing up was because of her laying down and the phlegm just working it's way up. Hoping to get some rest today but also have to clean up the house and do sheets, towels etc for our visitors (inlaws) arriving Monday.

OMG, @faerywings Chris, I'm so sorry about Imogene! Sending hugs to you and Cait, poor girl! :(:(
Imogene had short but happy life! She is gone peacefully at loving home, which is what any rat can want, actually any person at all. There is no words that can be appropriate in this situation, so I can only sending you hugs!

Oh, Chris, @faerywings so sorry about Imogene. Give Cait (and all of you) big hugs. With all the worry about the others, this is such a shocking turn. More hugs!!

Eva @tanteva I'm so sorry you're sick. Have been worrying that you were. But never guessed it was as bad as the photo. You did a fantastic job on that! Gentle hugs to you too.

Yesterday DH and I got our Moderna booster shots. Both of us are pretty symptom free, just slightly sore spot of injection. Earlier in the week we got flu shots. Hopefully that'll see us through.

Oh, Chris @faerywings I'm SO sorry about little Imogene. Poor little thing - I can't even imagine what a shock that was for you and Caitlyn. I'm sending hugs to all of you. That's so awesome that you have all of your beloved pets buried in your yard.

I gotta go but I'll be back. Adrienne and Ava are here and we're going to run into town to shop a bit.

@faerywings Sorry to hear about Imogene, poor little thing. I didn't know about the bee significance, that is cool that you have matching tats.

I went for the flu shot, went to the wrong place, then finally got to the right place only to find out my appt was Nov 29 not Oct 29 LOL. I was going to head home but the pharmacist said if I could wait 10 min they would fit me in so I got it, flu shot done. Came home, took the last of the antibiotics (I was 2 for the last 8 days) and then spent the evening laying on my mat and pillows with the dogs snuggled up with me. Its just what I needed, a quiet night to just chill and let my body rest. We binged some shows (Chicago Med and Coroner) and I had some soup around 8:30. Can't bite into anything b/c it could dislodge the temporary bridge that is in and I'm ok with that b/c it hurts when food touches it anyway (bridge is the top front teeth). I made some toast/peanut butter for lunch today and cut it into small pieces to eat with a fork. I'll be glad when everything heals and I can get back to normal eating again. Tonight I'm going to have a green pepper and egg scramble with fries. We went to Costco this morning and soon I'm heading out to the dog park and then a few more groceries that I couldn't get at Costco. D needs orange jello and bouillon, so I'll pick that up today while I get some soup from the deli for tomorrow. He is getting a scope on Tues so Monday is liquids only. What a pair we are this week LOL.

Tomorrow morning Jen is coming with Bella and we'll take the dogs over to the inlet for some playtime and swimming. I'll bring a camera and take some pics of them. Should be fun. Tomorrow night we'll be at Jens for Halloween so not a lot of computer time for me this wkend. Too busy with everything else.

Hi all!

I'm SO excited - just have to share. We went to a new store in town and didn't realize that it was a Consignment Store! It just opened recently and these local women all started it - it's called a "Mercantile" which sounds so "small town wonderful". Before we left, we had our own corner to sell whatever we wanted to sell, Ava is going to do their marketing - social media, etc.; Ava gets a key to the place and she's doing all of their photography. They have big plans and we just happened to get in on the ground floor! Adrienne, Ava and I have wanted to do something together for so long! I said "This is Kismet". Oh, the other box we ticked off - I've been looking like a crazy person to have a purse designed - made to my specifications and Voila! One of the vendors knows somebody who can do that for me! My purse needs are very specific and she said he could do whatever I wanted. I want something with black/brown and white cowhide on it.

Happy Halloween!!!!
Is everyone ready for a spooky day? I think we are, at least if the weather clears up a bit. If it rains, some of the decorations won't get set out. It finally stopped raining an hour ago, hoping it stays that way.

Yesterday was a big, fat bust of a day. I am trying to stop mentally beating myself up all of the time, I am in that loop. I simply couldn't bring myself to stand out in the pouring rain for the rabies clinic. All it took to bail out was for Gary to say, "just take her to the vet and pay for it." For the next few hours, I scolded myself for wasting money/being lazy. At least I am 100% aware that I am doing it and am trying to stop.
Then Gary and I went to pick up pumpkins at the supermarket to carve today. The kids went with their SOs to get pumpkins but Caitlyn wanted us to crave them together like we do every year.
Waiting until the day before Halloween: 0/10 Do Not Recommend. Not a pumpkin to be found in town.
Tom somehow got his hands on two pumpkins and brought them over last night so we are going to carve them this afternoon and we are going to have lots of pumpkin seeds to snack on.

The four of us watched the Season 3 finale of What We Do In The Shadows and it was hysterical and is such a fantastic set-up for Season 4. Can't wait! That show gets funnier and funnier, this season was the best! Caitlyn made us some Autumny drinks for us too, she made me a Cinnamon Caramel Martini. Delish!

I started the coffee and sunflower oil infusion, right now it looks like sludge. I have to find a sunny window that is out of the way-- anyone who comes to the house is going to think I am keeping an oily jar of dirt in my kitchen otherwise. They might not trust my cooking skills anymore. ;)

I guess that this morning is going to be getting ready for the upcoming week. This afternoon is going to be carving pumpkins and then we will see if we get any trick or treaters.

Have a spooktacular day!
(You knew that was coming. hahah)

Kay!! that is wonderful news! Hope you are having a fab time with your niece and DD!!

@tjscraps Thank you so much, Caitlyn rescued Imogene and her sister, Evie when they were babies, it is hard to wrap my head around how fast it happened.
How is your little today? Raring to get dressed up and get some candy?

@tanteva ugh! I hope you are feeling better, although based on your picture I think you might have something more than just a cold

@felis I will give hugs to Caitlyn for you. One thing she knows is that she gives her babies the best rat life possible. We spoil those girls so much and it was a comfort that she was able to hold her at the end.

@scrap-genie I will give her your hugs too. Thank you!
I am happy to hear that your got your booster and no side effects - *knocks wood*
Gary got his Moderna booster yesterday and seems good to go. I think I am going to see if I can book mine at the end of the week.
hahaha!! GMTA with our comments to Eva!

@Cherylndesigns I appreciate the hugs. It really was such a shock. We don't have *all* of our pets in the yard. The dogs, most of the cats, and Bunny were cremated. We have too many rocks here to dig big enough holes.
We flushed one of our goldfish and he popped (pooped??) out of the septic. We were having horrible septic issues, having four people on heavy-duty (doody), long-term abx will keep the septic from functioning properly. When we flushed him, we found him the next day on the grass over the leech field. Bleck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I apologize for the poop jokes. They just came out.
(I am such a child. Bwuahahahhahaahha!!!)

@bcgal00 Yeah, it is sweet that we have the bee reference with each other. One year for Christmas she made me a basket of bee/honey things- a necklace, salt and pepper shakers, honey face mask, etc. It's nice to have a little symbol and code.
Your day sounds like something I would do mixing up appts. But how nice that the pharmacist was able to give you the vax. How long do you have to wait until you get the permanent bridge in?
Is D having a flare or is the scope just routine? *fingers crossed for an easy prep and good test results*

Cheryl!!!! Woo hoo! That is awesome about the consignment shop!! CONGRATS to Ava!!!!!! Congrats to ALL of you!!!

@Caro Love that photo and filter! Have fun with Wednesday :)

A little bit better today. Been knitting a lot & watched some no-brain-needed movies (found some Hallmark original available to stream on a Swedish channel). Mainly I think I'm only tired today.

Here's what I'm knitting: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nadendal, but I'm making it with yellow chenille yarn. And the pattern is weird, and I hade to wing it a bit, cuz the country was totally off.

Happy Halloween everyone. I'm heading out with the dogs soon to the park. It's only 45° so have dressed warm b/c it'll feel colder when we get wet which will happen with 3 dogs running in and out of the water LOL. I'll share a pic tomorrow of them playing. Have a good day.

Happy Halloween everybody. Nothing going on around here today - no trick or treaters way out here.

Chris, @faerywings hope you're all feeling a little bit better today. Don't mind the poop jokes - we're all on a septic too and that has problems. We have to be careful. I made Ava a sign for the cabin (the air bnb) - we had it printed and framed and hung right over the toilet and they STILL stop it up!! She was SO upset after the last people left. I told her that's what she gets paid the big bucks for. BWAHAHA

septic-sign.jpg

Ava's already in at the consignment store - she's getting her little corner ready! I talked to her about midnight last night and she was still on Cloud 9!
