Good morning! I am feeling almost back to myself. What a strange set of side effects I had yesterday. The headache and skin pain was typical but the weirdest side effect I had was how much my toes hurt. Yup-- my toes. It was like the arthritis in my fingers duplicated itself and went to my feet- every joint in my toes hurt, especially in my big toes. Today they are back to normal. It was kinda wild. ;)

Needless to say, I didn't get much of anything done. I got two LOs uploaded and read for a while. I didn't feel sick or tired enough to actually nap, thankfully. Naps always make me feel worse. Not much happening here today other than catching up on laundry and playing with the rats while Cait is away for the weekend.
I am going to try and catch up with all of you here today too.
Hugs!

@vickyday and @Cherylndesigns Sounds like you both are having some wonderful autumn weather! It was very cold overnight but the sun looks amazing from my window ATM.
Cheryl, I hear ya about the boosters-- my MIL was triple boosted and got Covid last week, she was pretty sick the first few days even with taking Paxlovid immediately. Thankfully FIL didn't get it. Seems like there is no rhyme or reason to any of it.
I bet the gel polish on your toes lasts longer than the nail growth lol. I love the gel polish kit that Caitlyn got me for my b-day. It's amazing how long it lasts esp since I am really hard on my hands.

@bcgal00 I haven't looked at yesterday's thread yet so I am hoping that the power stayed on Thursday. I can't even think about snow!! Blech!! We usually get a day of snow in Nov that sticks to the grass but nothing else.
Scott and Gary love pork loin too- that is a great deal! I got one last week at ShopRite for $2.49/lb and did the same, cut it in half, and popped it into the freezer- for whenever I might see Scott at dinner again. :( Between the two jobs and a GF (Yay Sam!) I never see him anymore.

@vickyday Hope that your headache went away eventually. Wow, your Creation album must be huge! What a great day with your friends and Qwirkle LOL

@Cherylndesigns You are going to make an awesome (groovy!!!) flower child! Pictures, please!!!!

@bcgal00 Remi cracks me up, how old is she now, almost 2? Will she ever lose that "puppy" energy?

Hi, @taxed4ever I am so happy that you checked in but wished you had better news to share. The housing market really changed so quickly, seems like your ILs made the decision to sell just in the wrong time frame :(
I hate (really really hate) to even suggest it, but is there a developer that might be interested in the property? Sounds like there are no good answers or options. I hope that the winter is mild and you don't have to worry about how to get to them if needed.
I hope that you had a nice visit with your sister and so sorry to hear about your other sister's DD's cancer.
You are always perfect company here - I hope that you are still heading on your weekly hikes!

xoxoxo!

Good morning ladies. We went out yesterday for Xmas lights and got red/white for the front of the house and mini colored lights for the main balcony out back. We will dig out the garland and white lights to decorate the top of the kitchen cupboards on the long wall. I may buy some pine cones or something to add to it, will have to look around to see what I want to use. Its so convenient that there is a plug up top and a switch inside the cupboard above the microwave to turn off and on. We'll wait til mid November to set it up but my plan is to do it earlier than usual (in December) so that Jen might get used to the decorations and tree being up and not be so triggered in Dec by the holiday memories. Don't know if that will make it better or worse but I'll try. She seemed happy about the idea of decorating.

I am going for a short drive into the grasslands today with the dogs and will get groceries. I need to do some chores and hope to scrap a bit. Tonight will be a hot tub to relax my muscles and hopefully get a good sleep b/c tomorrow I'm heading out early morning for a day long drive and hiking thru the back roads with the dogs. A friend is coming along and we'll stop for photos along the way, mostly scenery but we might get lucky with some wildlife opportunities.

Dinner tonight is spaghetti for D and sauce with low carb noodles for me, dinner roll for him and I have a keto one for me. Easy dinner as the sauce and meatballs are frozen so just need to thaw out and warm up.

@faerywings That's weird about the painful toes. I have arthritis in two toes that ache off and on so I can imagine how you felt. Glad you feel ok today. Have fun with some rat play time.

@taxed4ever Sorry your in-laws weren't able to find a buyer. How frustrating. Hopefully next year the market will improve. Glad your SIL sold and is moving closer. That is sad to hear about your niece. There is a lot going on right now with the family. Hope you are finding time to relax and take care of yourself.

Time to hop in the shower and get started on things. HAGD.

Morning. Chris @faerywings you know there's something called "Covid Toes" - I'm serious! You must have had touch of that. It's a real thing - Geesh what these shots do to us. I just got rid of this little "scabby thing" where I got my shot. It was the weirdest thing - I kept picking at it and it's finally gone. Only took how many months to go away???? Doh. Sorry to hear about your MIL - I'm done with them. They're talking about everybody getting this new and improved booster now. Steph *she's an MA) told me the pharmacist gave me that last shot right in in the muscle. I'm glad you're almost back to normal today.

Well, I found the funky glasses at Wally's yesterday. I'd gone online and found the ones I wanted, and they said they were in the store and by golly, I found them! Sometimes things go the way they're supposed to. BWAHAHA
Adrienne shortened the sleeves and pants bottoms for me when we got home. I looked like a 70's hippie chick mermaid, trailing along in those long sleeves and walking on my pants legs. Hahaha We decided to just use my pinking shears instead of hemming a Halloween costume. You can't even tell we didn't hem all the edges. I was going to use that stitch witchery, but this was way easier. I also decided I didn't want my hair straightened - I took my messy bun down and my hair is so long and curly that we both said it was going to look better curly. I got a headband/scarf with my costume and Adrienne started playing around with that, in my curly hair, and we both loved how it looked. I know straight hair was in, but I'm going to be a curly headed chippie chick. We'll have lots of pics! Ava and I are already planning the pics we want. We definitely want a group shot.

Hope everybody has a great weekend.

I SCRAPPED a LO!!! Couldn't resist playing with 1 of the Color Play collections. Had to take several breaks from the computer while doing it. And now my right hand is numb and tingling... but it sure did lift my spirits to do it. :D Can tell I have a long way to go before I will be back to "normal" with commenting and other CT stuff.

Thanks! The headache eased up but never went totally away, which is normal, LOL! My thorn in the flesh!
Our weather here in this part of NC has been BEAUTIFUL, for sure! And the trees in our woods are BEAUTIFUL this week! I went for a walk this afternoon and got TONS of pictures! I have a turkey in the crockpot, so I'm going to play for awhile while my laundry is drying!

Rae, are you sure you can't find pine cones on your walks? Boy, it is too bad you have to buy them! You could take a trip to my house! I've got TONS in our woods! ;)

I've been so busy lately, I haven't kept up at all this week. Probably not last week either. I hope everyone's fine, I just don't feel up to reading up on everything. I have my new glasses, and the world isn't looking the same right now, I need to get used to them. They are better than the old ones, it's just takes a couple of days for the eyes to adjust. I've seen some health issues, but I hope everyone's feeling fine right now.

Vadstena was fantastic, but time went so fast. Felt like we got there, and the next moment we were home. Have been eating like a mad person. Will sure have a big plus when I weigh in in the morning. Back to WW tomorrow. Only about 2 months left of the period I signed up for. Would really need (or probably the right word is want) to lose a little bit more weight before it's over.

Will have more time to spend on the puter the rest of the year, though. Could have been a good thing, unless it was because I'm not working. I'm working tomorrow, and on November 17th. That's it for the rest of the year. Well at least until Christmas, that's how far the schedule is done so far. Not the best of times, now that everything is getting more expensive, and the winter is coming. I usually hope for cold winters (so that the snow stays on the ground), but this year I want it mild so that the heating won't be too expensive. But it will be dark soon, and I hate the dark winters when there's no snow to lighten up the world. No matter what ... this winter will be crap. In the middle of the winter it's only daylight between about 9am to 3pm here where I live. It makes you really tired. (On the other hand, in June when the days are the longest, we have daylight between about 3.30am to 10.30pm - you have to soak it up then.)

Watched Halloween last night, for the first time in 40 years. The adult me can see that it's not the best movie, but ...... I really really hate Michael Myers. I was so scared all the time. I think it's because it was the first horror movie I ever saw, and it was at the cinema, with the kinda mass hysteria that breaks out when everyone is screaming around you. I was sooooo scared. Guess I was about 13/14 yo. It must have made a big impact on me, cuz now when I saw it 40 years later, I still remembered some scenes (when he's standing behind the hedge, the coat hanger & when he's NOT lying on the grass). I have to admit, it is a brilliant film in the way that you hardly see anything than that white mask in the background all the time. But ... well, it's a bit old at some points.

(Oh, and you wanna know WHY I watched it? LOL - I bought a kit yesterday with the cutest little Michael Myers figure ever. I need to use that kit to motivate I bought it.)

hello and happy Sunday from a very cold NJ! 28* brrrrr! It's supposed to warm up into the 60s but right now, it's very frosty out there. Time for me to start hibernating. ;)

I was back to myself yesterday, a little stiffness in my toe but other than that-- all good. Whew. Gary and I took the dogs for a walk, I cleaned up and did two loads of laundry, and cooked a yummy dinner. Gary set up an old iPod outside with sound effects that he made. He combined a lawn mower and wood chipper and put it on a loop so when you walk past Moe, you can hear him running over Vick (Victim heh)
Scott finally has a day off today. Hope he sleeps late, he has been so busy with the 2 jobs. I have seen him for maybe a total of 20 minutes since Tuesday.

Have a fun day!!

@bcgal00 I wish you didn't have to do it, but it sounds like you are being very proactive for the upcoming holiday season. All I can say is that I am always sending my love and support to you and Jen. I saw a bunch of your LOs on FB, looks like you are starting to scrap more pages with B? Hugs~~~~
Have a wonderful trip out and about on the hike. I hope that you get some more wildlife photos too. Be careful though. Bears are very active here right now and I had a *crazy* dream about a bear attacking Ravyn last night -- I was trying to call her inside but because she is (well-- was) deaf, she didn't hear me. eek. I am not sure if you have bears but I imagine all animals are busy bulking up for winter ATM.

@Cherylndesigns I do remember something about Covid toes! That's funny, I hadn't thought of that except I remember thinking how would I even know since my feet are always weird colors as it is from Reynauds? hehe. Thankfully, they are all good, my arm is good. My one lymph node was sore too but today it also feels fine.
The costume sounds way too cute!! Do you watch Ghosts? (If you don't, you should it is soooo funny!) Flower has messy, wavy hair. sop that tracks *G* Please post pics!!!

@vickyday hope that your headache is barely noticeable today. I am so excited to see your photos too!

@tanteva I hate that period of adjustment with glasses. I never seem to have the same issue with contacts but with glasses-- forget about it. I get dizzy the first few days I wear them.
Isn't that the truth about being away? The same amount of time just flies by. Were you able to get a decent amount of research done? How about Urban?
That really stinks about the job... will they ask you to cover if people call in sick? I really hope that you'll get some extra hours.
I don't think I could survive the winters in Sweden. I mean if I was Swedish I wouldn't have a choice but YKWIM. I struggle enough here in NJ when it is dark from 5 pm to 7 am. I hope that the temps are milder too, the heating costs are going to be bad.
That is too funny about watching Halloween. I haven't seen any of them since I was a kid too. Love that you watched it because the kit you bought has a Michael Myers!

Time to get some b-fast-

Good morning ladies. I'm back. We got home Friday at about 5:00. I felt like I had a cold most of the day and was really too tired to do much of anything other than unpack. Yesterday, I felt even worse...haven't had a cold since we moved to Florida. I was thinking that maybe I should get a Covid test. But I woke up today feeling almost back to normal. I think that the traveling just wore me out.
However, the fact that this is October 30 is not good news. My scrapping and commenting have really suffered the last 1/2 of the month. I need to get going! Which is really ok, since I don't have anything else to do. Shaun is at work this morning but I promised him that I would have lunch ready when I got home at 1:00. So I'm going to do baked potato soup and homemade bread. Haven't made homemade bread in a very long time but when we stopped to see my cousin and his wife, he had made Grandma Louise's homemade bread and we had that with homemade strawberry jam for breakfast. I wouldn't be at all surprised to be disappointed in this loaf. However, I'm sure with a little practice, I can get it right.

I'm going to figure out what I'm doing on Cheery-O responsibilities and then I'll catch up with what everyone has been doing this week.

No... don't have those - but writing with a pen - especially the small movements with it - makes the hand tingle then go numb! :(
Yes, it felt so good to scrap even with all the breaks I had to take while doing it. I see my primary care doc tomorrow (Monday). Then get my drivers license renewed on Tues and a bone density scan on Friday. Even for this short note, I had to take 3 breaks and over 20 minutes to get it done.

Good morning ladies. Just a quick hello. I'm heading out in a few minutes for a drive down the back roads to Merritt (about an hour away) but down the back roads and stops for photos, it'll probably be a few hours in each direction or longer. The dogs are going to love it. It'll be interesting to bring a friend along, she is not a dog person so not sure if she will enjoy having them with us or not. But it was her decision to join us so she has to go with the flow (dog pee breaks, play time, etc),

Got to feed the birds, get dressed and get out of here. HAGD.

@bcgal00 You should be able to find pine or fir cones on your walk near Merritt. The aspen trees will be so pretty with their yellow leaves and white bark. I like using Aspen or birch branches in Christmas arrangements.

I made it in by the skin of my teeth. Busy day - lazy day, but busy. The party was a roaring success! I didn't stay until 2:30, but it was still going on a little after that. It rained so hard but it didn't dampen anybody's spirits, that's for sure. Their deck is partially covered, so we all went out and danced - the wood was wet, but we still had fun. I didn't have to worry about my hair frizzing, Chris @faerywings YKWIM LOL. I have lots of pics, but they all need to be edited - they're not very good, because it was pretty dark in their house. They had spooky music going on and this humungous hairy spider that jumped out at anybody who walked past it. I about lost it the first time it tried to jump on me. The kids did the decorating and most of the food and they did an amazing job! Everybody looked so good - Ava was a lil devil, B was Hugh Hefner (complete with sailor captain's cap: and pipe) and Alyssa was a sexy schoolgirl. LOL Roger and Adrienne were Anthony and Cleopatra. We also had a priest running around offering to give the last rites. I'll try to have some pics edited for tomorrow. Glad your toes are back to normal today.

I haven't seen Ghost. What's it on?
