Good morning/afternoon/evening!
Happy weekend to all of you. I am looking forward to tomorrow when I have nothing planned. :cheer2:

Yesterday was a big fat medical bust. You would think that going in for an eye exam would be simple. Nope. Not for me. When she dilated my eyes she some something odd, yet different, in each of my eyes. They took digital pics and I have to go back in three weeks for some more tests. It is possible (likely, maybe?) that this is Lyme related but who the frick knows. All I knew was by noon, I was absolutely fried. My eyes were killing me, and all of the bright lights being shone in them and then the camera flashes for the images... I had a killer headache, couldn't see and of course there was not a cloud in sight. I was a b**** to my mom ( I did apologize!! Very much!!), got home and put my pjs on and went to bed. LOL

Thankfully, my eyes are ok better, and so is my headache. It is the last day of puppy school. Please, let Princess J behave today!!
Then we have a pumpkin carving session with all of the kids, Gary and me included. Veggie lasagna for dinner, thanks to my mom and home made apple pie for dessert while we all watch Hocus Pocus. (amok amok amok!)

I hope that everyone has a spectacular day!!!

Trudy- looks like it was just you and me yesterday.
One of the reasons I was bitchy to my mom was that she kept going on about Thanksgiving. It is at her house so she needs to run down the menu over and over. (OCD is hereditary, IMHO!! LOL). I am with you- I can't believe there is only one more week of Oct! My MIL still hasn't gotten me any of her vacation photos so it looks like their album might not get done, so I feel you pain and panic.
WTG on breaking the 34 laps! Hysterical about having to stop to pee :pound:

:tea: or :partywine for everyone!

good morning - yesterday was super busy. Having a dog is taking up too much of my time LOL. Yesterday had my hair cut and colored and makes me so happy! But I went an hour early, My appts are usually set for 9 am but this Friday there was a wedding so I was to come in at 10 but forgot. Luckily across the street is a Starbucks so I had a great time with my iPad and hot chocolate. Came home ate lunch and then took Rex on a walk down to the river. It was good. Then my girlfriend txted and we went for a walk so it was good to get in the two walks. Then it is letting Rex in and out to go to the bathroom. Watched hockey and saw the Blue Jays tie it up but then the rain came and I went to bed but woke up this morning to see the Royals won and so it will be the Mets vs the Royals. Pretty exciting. Today I will take Rex on a walk and then plan to scrap. My Devils play in Buffalo so I can hope for a win. Rain is coming tonight so that is a bummer. It is chilly but that is to be expect and yes I can't believe we are in the last week of Oct.

Chris so sorry about the eye problems and glad that your headache is gone. Your day sounds like fun! Have fun with the pumpkin carving! I am sure your mom understands your moods.

Trudy congrats on so many laps! That is incredible!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... Up far too early, but DH forgot to turn off his alarm and so that woke both of us up. His alarm plays the radio and the longer it takes to get turned off the louder it gets :mmph: Oh well

Chris - Sorry your eye exam was such a PITA!! Hope your are feeling much better today and that you have lots of fun with the Pumpkin carving today! I have had that testing done where they take the photos of your eyes and those horrible drops, but I think it is a routine thing so that they can determine the health of your eyeball. Seems the size and shape of your eyes change as you get older. Perhaps it would have been nice if they would have explained all this to you though?? Just what odd thing did she see in your eyes??

Nancy - Yes we were upset that the Jays lost, a couple of very questionable calls by the umpire, but then that always happens every game right? Oh well maybe next year. Sounds like dog sitting is keeping you very busy, but it also sounds like you are enjoying Rex's company! Hope your weather doesn't keep you from your daily walks! Have a great day!!

Ok I hear DH rummaging around in the kitchen, so it must mean its time to get something started for breakfast and leaving it up to him I would probably only get a slice of toast :becky: Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday!!

Yeah, I have had that test too, but this was more than that. She saw something white covering nerves in one eye, something up with the mylination of it, and something different with the pigmentation on the retina of the other eye. Any ideas on WTH that could mean????

Yesterday we went birding and I did lots more walking than I've tried in a long while. We didn't see as much as hoped for (as was there on Wed.) but our intent was really to enjoy the sunny, relatively warm day while there still was such. So it was a big success! Today I don't have anything special planned.

Chris, how scary with the eye exam! I get annual retina exams with photos, but as you say, this is different. Hope you're feeling better today and have a great time carving pumpkins.

Nancy, dog-sitting sure sounds like it takes lots of time. Hope the weather doesn't interfere with walks and all. At least so far we don't have the weather worries of SW Mexico with the monster hurricane Patricia.

Trudy, sorry you had the alarm too early. Also sorry the Blue Jays didn't win. I was pulling for them, but also the Cubs, so I didn't get either side my way. Hope it's a good day.

And Hi to all with wishes for a super weekend.

Hi everyone
Chris was the eye test at an ordinary optician or was it a hospital one. If it was an ordinary optician did she say she was going to show your results to anyone, refer you to a specialist or just re test in three weeks?? Was it the same tests or new ones?? The only thing it maybe is that she wants to see if it changes or stays the same BEFORE referring you on. Has she mentioned cataracts?
I have a history of torn retinas and also have cataracts that need to get a bit worse before ops and when they find something they always freak me out, and they do not always realise they are doing so.Keeping my fingers crossed for you anyways xx
Swimming sounds good Trudy, when you say laps do you swim lengths or up and down how big is a lap?
Glad you enjoyed the birding Jean and hope you were not too tired by the walk
Nancy you made me laugh about having a dog taking too much of your time,

good morning - well it is raining not hard but still rain. I do not like rain but it is needed. Had a really good walk with Rex we went almost 2 miles. The colors are so pretty. Rex is really feeling at home as I went out to living room there he was on the couch just snoozing away. Made me laugh. The cat loves sleeping on the couch too as it gets great sun in the afternoon. My NJ Devils defeated the Buffalo Sabres 4-3. It was awesome! Finally time to scrap and got two pages done.

Chris hope the pumpkin carving goes well! Hope the weather clears so you can be outside. I am hoping it clears so I can walk later.

Trudy I saw those questionable calls by the ump. Amazing how they can change balls and strikes so easily. And you are so right that this always happens in games.

Jean your bird watching sounds fun and the walk sounds equally as nice. Birds are definitely moving through my area. I have seen geese heading south and robins are too. Jean sorry about the Cubs. I think a lot thought they would win and it was a cool story with Back to the Future having the Cubs win this year.

Claire so sorry about the problems with your eyes. What a shame. Glad I gave you a laugh about Rex. I think part of it is that he is not my dog and that just adds stress to make sure he is okay. But I sort of feel like he is a grand baby and I can spoil him in my house and then I can give him back. LOL

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... a nice morning here so we are off to do a hike this morning. Just quickly popping in to say hello.

Jean - hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend! Sometimes it is nice to not have much to do and just relax!!

Claire - Ugh!! Such a worry to have torn retinas and cataracts!! Hope your operation to remove the cataracts goes smoothly when its done. MIL had hers done recently, she fretted about it so much, but it was a snap and then she felt foolish for the worrying! Here we consider a lap of the pool to be up one length and back down again in the 25 metre pool. So if I do 34 laps then it is 68 lengths of the pool.

Nancy - Nice long walk with Rex today!! I bet the colours were glorious even with the rain! Hooray for the Devils winning their game!! Lifts your spirits I am sure! Have fun scrapping today!!

Ok a few things to clean up around the house then we are off for the day, hopefully the weather holds and we can get some nice photos!! Enjoy the day everyone!!

So I am a bit late today. But I am here and I guess that is better than not at all.
I had a really horrid day yesterday and I swore "I wasn't doing a damned thing" today (Direct quote!) but y'all know how that goes. A little after noon I said, That is it! Just STOP!!!! So here I am

Jaida was so cute at class yesterday, it was just her and another puppy so they got a lot of time to play while the trainer watched them interact and gave us more tips and insights. Cait's friend had stayed over and I was thinking that we weren't going to have time to carve pumpkins but Brendan invited her to stay and carve and have dinner. I adore Cait's friend, but it was just supposed to be the 6 of us, family and all that. I had been stressed totally by this point and after that happened, I kind of shut down. But we did carve pumpkins and have dinner together but b/c everything had kinda gone sideways, I was too exhausted to watch the movie. Maybe tomorrow.

Today I am going to try and not be a total crank. That is my goal and am working hard at it!Hope that everyone is doing just fine!

She Who Never Sleeps
Cranks R Us! I have to go to Allen's (my 12 yr-old) piano recital today, and it is raining HARD! Which is awesome, cuz we need the rain, but I don't always like to have to go out in it.

Chris, scary for your eyes--I hope whatever it is ends up being benign!

We're watching football today but I got a good start on a new drawing earlier. The art supply store had a sale on colored pencils so I got some and found a new kind of marker and got two of them too. Having new toys is so refreshing! I started the design with the lines in a photo I took when I went out in the sunshine. Yesterday I updated web pages for my computer genealogy group and finally added a link on each page to our Facebook group. Feels good to have gotten somethings done.

Heather, nice to see you here. Hope you didn't get too wet.

Chris, hope you recover today. I know having my idea of things rearranged can make me at the very least cranky.

Trudy, thanks for good wishes. Hope it was a lovely hike and all around good day.

Nancy, also hope you didn't get wet in the rain. Really nice page of Rex on the couch. How nice to think of him like a grand that you can enjoy - and then send back.

Claire, sorry to hear of your eye problems. When my DH had cataract surgery he was so very happy with the results. His doctor also wouldn't operate until they were making things, like driving, hard.

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend.
