This is what I wrote yesterday:
One busy/hectic day at work down, two more to go. It is too bad that yesterday was the easy hectic day and tomorrow is the off-the-rails one LOL!
SCRATCH ALL OF THAT!
Yesterday turned out to be 100% off-the-rails. Not even on the tracks. In fact, *no* tracks in sight.
:thud:

I was exhausted by the time I gathered and loaded the many bags of supplies into my car, even before I left for work. I unloaded my car into the classroom on the bottom level of the building. Went upstairs to the office to gather the rest of my supplies. I got the news that Lauren was sick, and I was doing the field trip on my own. Ahhhh!! Of all days to be solo, I have a cooking activity *and* a trebuchet?!?! What am I thinking?
Well, there was nothing I could change at that point. And you know what? I pulled it off and the kids had a blast. Fu-Xin came out to set the trebuchet up and did the loading and resetting of the pumpkins while I cheered the kids' pumpkins on and made sure the class all stayed in the Safety Zone. I had marked off every 20' up to 100' of the field and we had one pumpkin go past the 100' mark. Most of them made it 85-95' and two of them broke open and two of them cracked.
All of the kids tried the pumpkin bread, even if most of them didn't like it. We finished up with an art project and then used the gourds to bowl/knock over paper cups. We observed the gourds and had to pick the ones we thought would roll the best. Then we discussed why some of them rolled better/straighter than the others.
The kids were completely wound up by pick-up time but the parents are always so happy with our programs. One of the parents said that she can tell that I teach wth joy and it is true. One of the girls told me that she dreamed that she went on vacation with her family. They had stayed in a cabin that was just like the cabin where I held the millipede and she thought of me. Between that, and when the girl said that she found her passion after the last session, that makes all of the chaos and nuttiness and hard work (13,000 steps yesterday!) worth it.
And my coworkers-- I can't say enough good things about them. I stayed late yesterday to help Fu-Xin stack wood for the campfires last night and tonight. He had been running the entire day, took time out to help me with the Chunkin', and was working the Wicked Walk until god only knows when.
He split the wood and I loaded it into the shed. Where I found a toad and a mouse and was very excited!

There was no chance I was going to be able to cook so I gave Gary the option to either cook dinner or order a pizza. Pizza it was and now he has dinner tonight since I'll be at Weis. I am assisting at the Meditation Walk this morning, coming home, getting into a bat costume, and then back to work before 5 for the Wicked Walk. I am helping at the s'mores and hot chocolate table at the campfire, same as I did last year. This time, I am prepared with ghost stories. Last year, the girls were not comfortable speaking in front of the groups so I took over. But the stories they had printed to read weren't spooky at all. My kids kept their Spooky Stories to Tell the Dark books, which are now tucked into my backpack if needed. :D

Do any of you have a spooky story to share?

Hope you have a boo-tiful day!

You've got this, Chris! And the kids will LOVE it!
Thank you and they did!!
So relieved to hear that Mark is feeling better already. And even happier to hear that you slept well, you needed that!

Good morning ladies. I didn't get up until 7:00. I'm telling you that this is unheard of in my life. I went to bed at 10:30 but could not go to sleep. Nothing new there. But after tossing and turning and thinking about how much I wanted to go to sleep, I realized that I could get up and do something else because I didn't have an alarm set. So I got up and made myself a nest on the couch and watched two more episodes of The Diplomat surrounded by Kleenex boxes and water bottles and cough drops. Boo for this nasty cold but Yay for the retirement schedule. I fell asleep at about 2 am and slept in until 7:00. And, if I get tired, I'll take another nap. This is crazy!
That sounds decadent and lovely and so deserved. (The retirement, not the cold!) Hope you feel better today!
ydney has applied at Campbells which is in NJ but basically Philly. I told her that I can see myself exploring Philly, NYC and meeting my friend Chris while visiting her. The silver lining for all of these faraway locations.
Philly is 3+ hours from me but we will find a way to make it work!!! dance3
This week has gotten away from me. I am wondering what day are we on? I would have sworn it was Saturday then I saw the calendar and Chris's heading on here and its only Friday? Are you sure??? Yep, you are.
Right????? I wasn't happy that my alarm went off this morning, even though it is the weekend.
Some scrap pages are easy to "birth, " others are as stubborn as rocks to get out. Can't wait to see what you did!

So basically this will be normal? :floorlaugh:
Yup, normal as it ever is!
Oh my! It IS a fantastic job! I used to teach in a Catholic middle school for girls back in Poland, and I loved it very much. Then I came to the US, and my first job here was in a private daycare. I learned English together with the youngest children, who were learning how to talk. Surrealistic experience, LOL! The first book I read in English was "Are You My Mama?":floorlaugh:
Anyway, your job sounds awesome (intense, but awesome). I would LOVE to join the Forest Bathing/Meditation walk... I feel so burned out that the silence of the forest appeals to me more than ever... Oh well, maybe one day :)
That is too cute that you learned English with the kids. Did it mess up your pronunciation at all? When I taught PreK, I had more than one parent warn me about having their kids say "truck." :floorlaugh:
I love the forest bathing program. I recently started leading it after attending the program for the last 2+ years. We are hosting a Nature Retreat in November that I am really excited to participate in.
My friend and I both survived a visit to the doctor's. She was utterly spent, though, as every single action was causing her a ton of anxiety and panic attacks. She got referrals to two other specialists, and the vision of seeing them almost made her cry.
At the end of the day, I felt rather spent, too. I had to be my friend's "spokesperson", advocate, nurse, therapist, driver, keep her from falling apart, and be cheerful and upbeat. My inner introvert wants to hide in the art room and dive into digital scrapbooking/art journaling :P
Big hugs!!! I am not surprised that you were spent at the end of the day. Do you have any plans today or can you mentally recuperate with Photoshop in hand?

Add me to the have a nasty cold pile of people. I worked a ton of hours the last two weeks (or 3 or 4), and took today off to shed some hours. The plan was to stay home and rest, scrap, do a lot of nothing. Well. That didn't happen.
Oh, yuck, Amy! I hope that resting today is the only thing on your to-do list. Feel better!

Yikes, I am running late. Time to get ready for Work #1 :D
xoxo

I’ve been reading the chatter but have felt good enough to write.

My surgery was 7 Wednesday. I got home about 12:30. Felt droopy pain set in about 9 so oxy and anti nausea helped. PT on Thursday morning made the afternoon painful Friends have been coming over but all i want to do is sleep. lots of messages and calls . Got to get more anti nausea meds today. Need to do at home therapy today.

So I’m getting better slowly

Hi to all my scrapper friends. Have good weekend.

So nice to see you, Debby!
Please take good care of yourself (set boundaries for calls and visits etc if you have to, you can tell people "no thank you" ♥)
*gentle hugs*

Spooky story.......
When we were kids, my sister and Tim's sister decided to do a seance.....totally NOT allowed in our Christian home! They got under mom and dad's 4-poster bed with a lamp. I'm not sure what all they did under there, but all of a sudden the lamp bulb popped and broke and they came screaming out from under the bed! They NEVER did that again! I'm trying to get more details from them as we speak!

Sounds like you had a grand event yesterday! That mom picked up on your joy in teaching, for sure!

Thank you and they did!!

Yes, I did! And I got another good sleep last night!

Hi to all my scrapper friends. Have good weekend.
Prayers for quick healing and feeling better soon, Debby! :praying2:

Good Morning,
I'm happy to say that Mark seems even better today! Thank You, Lord! We are both dealing with morning headaches, but hopefully after the Tylenol, that will improve!

No plans today! I got more scrapping done yesterday! Will need to run to CVS for another covid test later on so Mark can confirm he is negative before we go to church tomorrow. Other than that, not much happening on the ranch.

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. Brian asked what my plans were for the day and I said that I might not have the energy to do anything, Sad but true! I think that last week with my sister-in-law took a bunch out of me. But, I'm retired so anything that needs done can wait another day. I do think that my cold is better today so that's good news.

@faerywings I am exhausted just thinking about what you did yesterday and what you are about to do today. But...you have really found something that allows you to use your gifts. I am soooo happy for you! And if Syd lands in the northeast, guaranteed that we will meet. I'm going to spend plenty of time visiting and exploring.

Oh @BoatLady I'm so glad to hear from you. Take your time recuperating...and think how good you will feel soon.

@vickyday so happy to hear that Mark has recovered so well. Hope that the covid test comes back negative!

@mimes I'm sorry to hear that you have caught the darned cold. Hopefully the rest knocks it out. And I hope that your work this week doesn't need as many hours...so that you can get rested for that wedding in Arizona.

@Agata I am sure that your friend appreciates you so much. But it sounds like you deserve some time with just your art supplies and journal.

@AK_Tracy I too am loving my retirement schedule. I had no idea I could just go with the flow like this. Completely loving it.

@BrightEyes I didn't see you around yesterday. Hope the Covid isn't knocking you out too much.

Ok all. I'm off to cook some breakfast. Then spend some time in the gallery. I'll be back later.

I'm here, gals. Don't know how I missed posting yesterday.... I did some scrapping (FWP LO for this coming week) and while I was working on it, DD#1 called. We talked for almost an hour - so guess that is why I forgot to post in Chatter. The good news is the Rx steroid is working. The blisters are not as big and the cream is helping with the itching and no new blisters, The main side-effect is I am sleepy. Took a couple of afternoon naps then went to bed at 7PM and asleep by 8PM. Slept in until almost 8AM this morning.

Well, it is a good thing I had the heater prepped for winter... it was 40*F when I got up this morning. It may get up to 70* late this afternoon. That will be the pattern for the next week. Have a feeling that I will have several PJ days. And they will be fall PJs - light-weight long-johns style. Been sleeping with a winter blanket plus the winter comforter the past 2 nights.

I hope to be up to looking at beds later on this week. The stuck raised head on mine causes me to slid down until my feet are at the bottom and I am curled up in a ball. So I am a bit stiff and sore when I first get up. Plus... DD#3's son may be hired for a new job before the end of the month. He is suppose to come down with DD#3 to help move my mattress and adjustable frame into the garage. DD#3's son will only be available in mornings/early afternoons as the grandson is in school during that time. Once the bed/frame is moved, I will be sleeping in the guest room until I get my new bed. After I get the new bed home, I will call the Waste Management for a bulk pickup for the old mattress/frame.

Wow @faerywings That was some busy day for you. Glad the other worker there pitched in to help out. Sounds like you will be busy for the next weeks at Weiss. So glad you are enjoying working there.

@BoatLady Glad to hear you are recuperating from your surgery. Sending lots of healing thoughts your way.

@mimes1 Sorry that you have a cold... hope it doesn't last long.

@LSlycord Not surprised that you are feeling worn out since your SiL's death. Good that you are now retired and can take the time to rest and recoup.

@AK_Tracy Sorry to hear that your area was without power for so long. Wow.. half a hog for the freezer!!! We bought half a steer one year... loved having all that meat until we got down to cuts that I wasn't sure how to fix them. We had some weird meals then. :floorlaugh:

@vickyday Glad to hear your DH is feeling better. Hoping his Covid test is negative. Might be wise for you to test also... headache is one of the Covid symptom.

Be back later to see how everyone is doing.

Hi to all my scrapper friends. Have good weekend.
Hi Debby, so good to see you... Keep sleeping, resting and medicating until you feel a bit better. Take care, sending hugs.. :hug4: :beatingheart:

Hi ladies. I'm home today (mostly) except for dog walking and groceries. We are hosting game day tomorrow so need to get out for some snacky foods. Today I'll get out for dog walking, house cleaning, brownie making and then see what's left of my day and what I'll do with it. I've been doing minimal scrapping this year but am not ready to give it up yet but I'll reassess next year. I still love scrapping but it's a time thing, I'm busy with a lot of other things now. Once my jewelry biz slows down after Xmas I'll get to see what my schedule is really like b/c I won't need to design almost every day like I do now.

I'm glad to be incorporating swimming into my schedule, it is a fun social exercise time for a few hours, a few times a week. I had to take off the wkend b/c of my lip procedure (had a fibroma removed from the inside of my lip that is healing) but can probably get back in the pool on Monday.

I'm going to go get Remi out in a few minutes as she is impatiently waiting for me to get off the computer :) HAGD everyone.

Why am I awake? Why did my body still think that it *had* to wake up at 6 am?? Why???
I tried to get back to sleep with no luck. Figured that it was time to get coffee around 7. I reached to grab my glasses and water bottle from the nightstand.
Disaster struck.
*$%#@(* Actonel box was next to my water.
That is the Rx I take for osteoporosis and I have to take it in an empty stomach, with 8 oz of water, and must stay upright afterward. No eating for drinking for 30 minutes. No coffee. :bawling:
I was on top of things yesterday when I put the meds on my nightstand before I headed back to work or I would have missed this dose. OTOH, it did *not* make me happy not having coffee but I am much, much better now.

The start of my day with the meditation walk was wonderful! My coworker brought one of her larger singing bowls and what an incredible experience it was to hear and feel it.
The Wicked Walk was nowhere near as relaxing as the morning had been. The Weis team really is amazing and I don't know how they pulled it off. I was one of the lucky ones stationed at the campfire. Several of the PT staff and a few volunteers called in sick, literally an hour or so before the tours began. Lots of confusion and running back and forth for all of us.

I had Gary cracking up when I was getting ready for bed. I got home a little after 11 pm, got into my PJs and put my watch (Fitbit) on the charger. Then I put it back on, showed it to him and said that I was going to walk around the house for another minute or so. My step count was 15,958. You know damn well I was hitting the 16,000 mark!
:lol23:
That made up for the extra slice of pizza I had for dinner and the insanely delicious homemade cinnamon muffin I inhaled while driving home.

I have no plans today. Well, I do but they should be easy enough. I need to start my grocery order and wash the glitter out of my hair. Scrapping would be really nice. Let's see if my brain can handle it.

Oh -- you all would be super proud of me. Gary was. I was asked to work this afternoon, just 3 hours with a GS troop and I said no. I had blocked the day out to do nothing, and usually I would cave but not this time! :highfive:

HAGD!

@faerywings this may be the first time in all of the years that I have known you that I've ever heard you talk about saying no to anyone! :bowdown3: Such progress!!! And it sounds like yesterday was great.

@bcgal00 I sure hope that you can find a way to include some scrapping with everything else that you are doing. How busy your life is now and you sound so happy! I love this for you.

Spooky story.......
That was a spooky story!!!!! They might have been flipping out on so many levels!

I am exhausted thinking about it, too. I am glad that I only have to do this program once a year! It's kind of funny because as I was telling Gary about all of the stuff everyone was doing both in prep and throughout the night, he reminded me-- they are young. (implied-- I am not LOL) And he is right, I can't keep up with the 20 yos I work with. The fact that I made it to 11 pm is a big enough goal. I am usually on my first round of insomnia-waking most nights at that time hahah!
Well, you and Syd are going to have to come closer to me and see the mountains!
That's awesome that the rash is finally getting better. Steroids can have such awful side effects, glad that you are resting when you need to.
Good luck buying your new bed and all of my fingers are crossed that the timing works out with your grandson.

That's awesome (swimming, not the fibroma)! I remember how much Trudy enjoyed doing that. I saw your FB about Taz's birthday- please give my sweet old man an extra belly rub from me ♥

Linda, I knew you would appreciate that I said no! :giggle4:
I almost caved last night when Nicole was stressing about it, and one other high school staff wasn't 100% sure if he could do it. Then I realized how exhausted I was, and still had to walk to the outer lot to get to my car. I would be regretting it so much right now if i did cave.
Now-- big question is-- will it happen again?
Since you've known me (too many years to think about HA!!), what do you think?

Mark tested negative, so we are heading out in a little over an hour for the Sunday morning theatrics! :)

Good morning,
Quick in and out before getting ready for church.
Mark tested negative last night so we are off and running today.
I got every challenge available finished yesterday. Today I will start the process of getting caught up on my monthly review pages beginning with June! Wish me luck as I try to remember what I did 4 months ago!
HAGD

Good morning ladies. Game day today here. We have 8 of us playing cards this afternoon. I'm putting on the clear coat to my nail polish (blue polish with two sparkly nails) and letting it dry before showering, tidying up and getting the food ready for today. So, no scrapping this wkend. Maybe tomorrow after swimming and voting (our city mayor and council).

I took a tumble yesterday as I picked up a straight back chair to bring down to the main floor for game day, somehow I flipped over the ottoman end of the sectional in the media room and slipped on the throw rug with the chair landing on me as I fell on my side. Luckily the chair is not heavy. I put ice on it for an hour and today my upper thigh is sore and bruised but I'm ok. Jen had a "talk" with me, once again reminding me to ask for help when I need it. I find it hard to ask, not thinking about it, b/c I am so used to pushing myself and getting stuff done. I was lucky but I know one of these days I won't be and something will break...ugh. It sucks getting old.

@faerywings Yum, cinnamon bun! I am going to make a keto friendly cinnamon pinwheel snack in the airfryer this week. Today though it will be chicken/cheese rollup that I make for our guests to go on with the charcuterie board.

@vickyday You are sounding very organized! Glad Mark is ok.

@LSlycord @BrightEyes Glad you are both on the mend.

I'd better get on with things, I only have a few hours to get everything done before guests come. HAGD everyone.

Morning, all. Woke up early and been playing around with scrapping. Love the new release "Autumn Whisper" by Art Addicts. WOW... so many wonderful creatures and characters! I could play all day. But I should get some breakfast/lunch. Decided that this will be a PJ day. :floorlaugh:

The best news is the blisters/rash is fading and no itching... Think another day or two of meds and it will be gone. :claphands: I am about ready to start looking at new mattress and frame. I need to measure the width of the mattress/frame to decide which way will be the easiest to take the old ones out and bring the new ones in. There are several tight corners coming in from the front door or garage. Thinking it will much easier to bring it into the back yard - around onto the patio and in through the Master Bedroom door (no corners to navigate!! Seems like I remember doing that when we bought the adjustable bed. I know I should do some research when I am dreaming about moving the old out and the new in!!!
