Good morning and Happy Saturday/Sunday to everyone. I hope that your weekend is going well. I would love to say that mine is fun and exciting and relating all at the same time, but it isn't even 8 am yet. I am still trying to wake up. heh.

Yesterday was another of those weird ones where I didn't get much of anything done but felt busy all day. I was able to get a few FWs recipes picked out and adjusted to the way I want. And I *think* I picked out a new fragrance oil for the gnomes/lotions. Not that the gnomes are getting lotions. nope, I am making scented gnomes in addition to hand lotions, shower gel. The one big issue is that the coffee butter I usually buy for my coffee butter scrub has gone up in price to $60 a pound. It used to be about $25/lb. I found a recipe online on how to make your own- basically infusing ground coffee beans with oil and then adding solid butters to it and then whipping the s*** out of it. I think I might give it a try. It is going to be time-consuming so I really need to figure this out soon.

I heard a bit more about my niece's news. Apparently, she asked the police dept this summer if there was any progress over the year since they made the complaint. The police said that someone requested the case to be closed so they did. She was pretty much WTF since none of the women who filed the complaint asked for that. She contacted the newspaper right after that. The reporter did all of the investigative parts and published it on the front page of the paper on Thursday. That afternoon, the man was arrested. It makes me even more proud of her. I didn't think it was possible but I am.

I bugged Caitlyn's rats quite a lot yesterday too. I got to snuggle Liv and Dilly who were chuckling like mad. Cait is petsitting for the next few days and of course, we worry about the old girls' health. They are slowing down of course, but still so happy. I had to laugh when I was giving Liv some treats, she can't see and was trying so hard to grab all of the cheerios and kept missing them. Didn't stop her from shoving them all in her mouth eventually :D

I am going to head out this morning for a walk with my friend and other than that- who knows.
HAGD!

@tanteva that is the worst part of vacation--when you get home and try to hang onto that feeling and then poof, it is life back to normal so darn fast. The movie sounds like it was a good mood booster! I know that Arlene would enjoy it, I will have to see if t is available here
Really?? The woman is giving you the silent treatment? *huge teenaged-sized eye roll* (Two can play that game, Lady!)
I can see why it would trigger you. Hang in there next time you are at work with her.

@taxed4ever Whoo hoo-- much better to go to a craft store than a supermarket! I am sure that your Gary is going to drag you out and about today and you can pick up what you need, much more fun to do some crafting while you had the house to yourself.
Thank you for the reminder that there are so many police officers that would do the right thing and not blow something like this off. From what I know of your Gary, I imagine he would have run this info to the ground. And to hear that they closed the case on their own... and didn't tell the girls it until my niece asked. [mad face] I wish there were more like your DH.

@Cherylndesigns yay for baby Kinleigh visiting, I bet no one wanted to put her down! That is so good that they made it to OK with no issues at the airports.
Ballerina Dog! LOL!! That is such a good name for Daisy. Hope your shoulder is better today, I imagine the rain isn't helping it at all

Hugs!

Morning, gals. Yesterday turned into another PJ day. Woke up sneezing with the nose running like mad. Went on all day - miserable carrying a box of tissue around with me. No other symptoms - just the sneezing and runny nose. Discovered I had some nasal spray last evening and used that. Took a couple of hours before it seemed to be working and was able to fall asleep. Seems to be gone this morning..... X X X X ... fingers crossed. Need to go to the grocery store but will give it another day to make sure I am over whatever it was.

I should do some scrapping... had a bit of a scare during the last time as PSE froze on me - and so did the computer. Ended up doing a reboot - thank heavens I had saved the LO before it froze. I emptied the trash bin and did an external HD back-up before going back to work with the LO. Was able to make a jpeg with it and save it. I know MY computer is overloaded so it is time to make the move to DH's computer. Have to load the brushes, special tools, shadows, fonts, etc into PSE20 that is already on DH's computer... then selectively move some of the other scrapping stuff.

Chris, that is an outrageous increase in price for the coffee butter! Hope you are able to make your own. Glad your niece looked into where the investigation was going and got the press involved. Good for her for sticking with it. Sending good thoughts to your Gary for getting everything set up for Halloween.

Eva, I had to roll my eyes over that worker who didn't realize that not talking to you was a blessing. She is acting like a spoilt-brat! Sorry you and Urban have to deal with her. <<< hug >>> Yes, sometimes is hard to hang on to the relaxation feeling you had when coming back from a vacation.

Chris, hope the shoulder is doing better. Had to LOL over the dog not liking the headbands. Oh, how sweet to finally be able to hold that wonderful baby. That should raise your spirits alot.

Trudy, so glad the family Thanksgiving dinner went so well. What a treat to have the family together for it. Love that photo of your view of the lake... priceless.

Well, the house is finally warm enough for a shower. Got down to 39* outside last night. Have had the heat set at 65* at night so it needs to warm up before it is comfortable to shower.

Good morning my lovelies.

The sun is shining - FINALLY!! It stopped raining yesterday late afternoon and turned cold. Down to 40 last night. It's pretty nippy today but beautiful. I'm getting ready to get cleaned up and head up to see Kinleigh. Ava had a photo shoot with her late yesterday afternoon after the rain stopped. It got beautiful for awhile, just like magic. She sent me the pictures this am and I'll share a couple when I get home later

Chris @faerywings I'm not sure what the story about your niece is, but it sounds like she went right after it - good for her!! Gosh almighty that's a huge increase in your supplies to make that soap/body butter. It will be amazing though. I've been looking for DIY body scrubs and coffee keeps coming up. I need something for my face. I THINK I used Himalayan sea salt + coconut oil. Does that sound right?

Kay @BrightEyes good for you for staying in your pajamas. I'm so happy to hear that your sniffles are gone. The doctor told us that this was the worse allergy season they'd seen in years. Maybe that's what's bothering you.

Eva @tanteva happy you're home, but I remember that blah feeling. I always needed a vacation from my vacation. I cannot believe you have to put up with such a teen-age attitude at work. What is WRONG with people, anyway?????

Trudy @taxed4ever hope you're having a good day.

I'm going to sign off and head for the shower so I can go love on Kinleigh. I got some cute pictures of her yesterday - we have about a thousand pictures already. I'm exaggerating but we've taken a TON of them between all of us. The Baby Papperrazzi!!
Waving to all.

Morning ladies... It is pouring rain today!! There are rainfall warnings for today and tomorrow. The weather man is calling it an atmospheric river. We call it a pineapple express as mild wet weather comes from Hawaii. Anyway it will be a great day to stay close to home and do some more crafty things. I never did get my calendar started as usual my day did not go the way I had intended LOL. I ended up making a turkey pie, with all of the leftovers from Thanksgiving and then threw in half of the carcass that I had put in the freezer into the instant pot and made turkey bone broth. Will make up a big batch of soup today after I get my grocery order this morning. I did get Jackie's birthday card finished and in the mail. However it will be very late arriving as her birthday is on Tuesday. Wish I had of been more organized for her! Getting the Halloween cards finished up for the Grands and should really start looking at getting some Christmas gifts purchased pretty soon too! Ugh did I just say the "C" word??.

@faerywings - So glad that your niece was so great about getting this guy charged!! I am so proud of her too!! Wow the cost of the coffee butter is outrageous!! Seems that everything has at least tripled in price these days and getting harder to get the things we need as all of the freighters are sitting in a port somewhere waiting to be unloaded. Why is it so hard to find people to work??
Hope you have a wonderful walk with your friend today, there will be no walks for me today as the wind is blowing and the rain is steady!

Kay - What a strange thing to have your nose running like that for just one day?? Allergies perhaps? Glad you had the nasal spray, have you ever tried a Nettie Pot? I find it really works well when I feel my sinus acting up. Hope you get all your files transferred over to the other computer! I don't ever save my pages on the computer they go straight to my External Hard Drive, thats where all my scrapping supplies are also.

@Cherylndesigns - Oh how nice that the sun is finally shinning again for you! Wish we could see the sun again, its just pouring today! "A good day for Ducks" as my Mother used to say LOL. Look forward to seeing the photos from your photo shoot yesterday! Fall is always a great time to have family outdoor photos done, so many vibrant colours! Love it!

Ok off I go to get groceries and pick up some wine making supplies with my DH. Have a great day everyone! Stay dry and warm!

We have company! This used to be normal but it seems odd now since covid (all vaccinated, following local guidelines) - but it's nice to have some sense of normalcy :)

Jumping in and poking around, haven't been around for a few years but happy to be back!!! :)

@faerywings do you make those to sell or for gifts??

It is officially "so chilly in my house that I can't finish my coffee before it gets cold" temp. I could fix this in a few ways- one being that I use a smaller mug and refill it more often. But that means I would have to get off my butt. Or I could use the electric coffee warmer Scott got me for Christmas but then I would have to flip the switch to "on." Much easier to complain heh.
Or I could simply drink it faster!

We got really spoiled with the temps all week, my friend and I walked 2 miles yesterday and I was sweating when we got back and was wearing leggings and a t-shirt. Sadly, we saw a lot of flattened garter snakes on the road. Scott said that when he was hiking at work, he saw so many of them out. The weather confuses them.
Other than the walk, I ended up losing much of the day. I got a little of this and a little of that done but it felt like the whole day was kind of chopped up and I couldn't focus. And guess why? I didn't write anything down on my list. That has to show me how much it helps.

I should probably sign off and get my day started.
Have a fun day!

I just scribbled a few things down in my planner so I'll let you know if I have a better and more focused day today.

Kay- how did you make out yesterday with your nose? Hope it is much better today. Gary had something similar, he had a cough and sore throat for two days, and then it was gone. He went for a COVID test just to be safe and it was negative.
When my computer was freezing on me I became obsessive with saving any LOs. I would move an element 2 pixels over and then Ctrl-S. Moved it back: Ctrl-S. I hope that you get it all worked out so you can scrap again. I am overloaded on fonts and am thinking about uninstalling all of them other than System Fonts and then reinstalling the ones I use the most. Have you ever done that? It seems like it is a lot of work and it makes me anxious.
Gary posted a few pics yesterday of the lawn and I know he is disappointed that it isn't as big of a display as the last several years but I think it still looks awesome.

OK-- semi-serious question: WHat do you do when you get that baby-itch????? Not for me to have one- can't on so so sooo many levels. ROTFLMAO But dang I wish I had a some's baby to hold. Most of my kids' friends don't want them or not any time soon. But hearing about all of these babies makes me wish for one- for like an hour. :p

@Cherylndesigns I am so excited to see the pics that Ava took of Kinleigh! How long are they going to be visiting?
The story with my niece -- she had worked at an animal "sanctuary" that did shows showcasing them and they did parties, school visits, and stuff like that. The owner was a sexist pig and abused the animals and sexually harassed her and the other female coworkers. Last year, they filed a complaint with the police on both issues and they did nothing. So my niece went to the newspaper that did the report that was published Now he was arrested. Don't know on what counts but hopefully all of them
You shouldn't use salt scrubs on your face, the crystals are too sharp. Fine grind sugars would be better, and enzymatic exfoliants are the best- papaya and pineapple extracts are very popular. Himalayan/sea salts are best for the body and feet- as they are considered to be good detoxifiers, they also make good soaks.

@taxed4ever I hope that the rain helps the water levels, are you still under drought conditions? Be safe if you need to be on the roads!
I feel ya, sounds like your day when the same as mine- busy but not in the way you planned. I have been thinking about the "C-Word" too. Frightening, right???
Hopefully, the new policies at the ports in CA will help now that they are moving from M-F only to 7 days a week. People in town are back to posting pics of the empty TP shelves again in the supermarket. I am not sure how much of that is an actual shortage or people hoarding again.

@tjscraps Welcome to the Daily Ooos, Trina. How awesome to have company! We usually celebrate family b-days in September as a big family bash (the other half are in May and June) and the last time we had been together was in 2019. When we had everyone here a few weeks ago, I was stressed and out of "practice" but when everyone was here-- the best feeling ever!! Enjoy that sense of normalcy!!
I make body care stuff to sell but mostly as gifts. When my kids were babies, I got certification as an aromatherapist. Made a lot of stuff for the family and then started to do some craft fairs. Turns out that in my local area, people didn't want to spend money on handmade aromatherapy products when they could get "The Same" at a dollar store.
Now I mostly sell to family and friends- Pre covid, I would hold an open house here and that was fun. I make a gift basket every year for my neighbor, who gives them to her DD's B and SILs. But mostly, I make them as gifts

@scrap-genie @nancyr @felis @bcgal00 and everyone, sending hugs to you all!

Kay! I really really REALLY have to THANK YOU for that sentence!
I needed to get that perspective - YES! I'm gonna let her go there, thinking she's punishing me by not talking to me, and secretly just enjoy the blessing of not having to listen to her. Will make it much easier to cope with it.

Good afternoon all.

Trina @tjscraps it's good to see you! Stop in whenever you can - we're pretty "yacky" in here. LOL This is one of the highlights of my day. Glad you're getting back to some kind of "normalcy".

Chris @faerywings thanks for the advice about the scrubs. I'm glad you like Himalayan Sea Salts - I have some that I use as foot soaks - remember when I went through that spell of my feet mysteriously hurting? I used to put a pan of water under my computer and soak and work. It smells so soothing, too.

Thanks for filling me in on the niece. You must be SO proud of her for forcing that action! What a brave woman - fortunately she had others who had it happen to, there's more power in numbers. So many women just ignore it because they're afraid to get into something like that. It's just awful the "things" that certain people think they can get away with.

Baby Kinleigh and her mommy left this morning - they had an early flight back to MI. It was such a blessing to have them here, short time, but at least we got some "baby time". I'm getting ready to post my first LO of Adrienne, Roger and Kinleigh for the font challenge. Adriene and I had her all to ourselves for a couple of hours yesterday and then Roger called and wanted us to meet him for lunch. That baby just "rolls with the punches". We put her in her carseat and away we went. Of course, she got passed around the whole time we were at lunch. Roger's brother and Braden were there, then the girls popped in. We had a big ole' table full of people by the time we left. We went to Nancy's Pie Shop - right up the road. Alyssa works there, so Nancy always has something special for us to try. Yesterday, she had us test her newest mac and cheese recipe. Yes please. LOL

Here are 3 pictures I took of Kinleigh, at lunch yesterday.

Chris, I'm so sorry to hear what happens to your niece! It's a nasty world! Even before MeTo my mom was telling us all kind of strange stories how to be careful in any situation and never left alone with men. I was so terrified to see that this isn't inspired by her deep insecure, but true stories from crime news series she was watched. Of course she was told us in way more appropriate for teenagers, the documentary series is really gross. It's so sad that this continued even now when everybody can make a video evidences and report you.
Ugh, seriously, why you think we should to know this about the poor snakes, so sad, this upset me a lot!

Eva, I'm sorry but you totally deserve this attitude after you was gossip behind the back of your coworker. You didn't stand to tell her directly what you think, so don't play it victim now!

Trudy, I'm start make Christmas decoration and gifts too.

Cheryl, oh how cute to be with your family even for a while! Good luck to Ava in her new project although I'm sure she will rocks as at everything else she do.
