:cheer2: for the weekend!
I am lazy/late so I have to make this brief. I am back from the vet with Cait, ate too much leftover French Toast for breakfast and now feel extremely sluggish. Before I had b-fast I was thinking all of the things that had to get done and now I don't want to do any of them ;)

Yesterday was a long one but turned out ok in spite of typical Campbell chaos. My mom and I were poking around a new home decor store and were having a nice time just browsing. We were almost done when Caitlyn calls. She says: You know how I texted you earlier and said what a nice morning I had been having and wondered if the Universe was setting me up for a big disappointment, guess what I did for the first time?
*heart drops a bit*
Me: you got into a car accident???
My mom: *looks back at me in terror*:???:
Cait: Oh god no!! I locked my keys in my car.
Me: oh thank god. Call AAA or Dad and let me know how it goes.
*phone rings*
Cait: Dad can't get me, I have his keys.
Me: Grandma and I are on our way! See you in an hour! :car:
We get to campus, I unlock her door and we all go out for pizza for lunch. At 3.30 pm.

All I can say is thank goodness it was all simple if a bit crazy and time-consuming.

Today is cold and rainy- the sun was supposed to be out at some point. Today is Autumn Lights Festival in my town-- celebrating the traffic lights that were first put up in the center 20-something years ago now. So I need to get cleaning. love to all!

Rae- happy Anniversary!
That is a long drive to see B but I know how important it is for you both. Is there any security/gates at the facility to help prevent people from running? Kind of crazy if not, considering that it is for neuro patients.

I hope that Felis knows how much we miss her here. :(

Nancy- hope that your cold is better. Great Devils game, must have been so exciting!
Kanye- SMDH!! Caitlyn showed me a clip of him saying how he loves everybody (Trump smiling like a goon), He loves Hillary (Trump scowls) idiots!!!

Trudy- So sorry that you are discombobulated too- your days of flitting around sound like mine
Bet your journals are gorgeous, Manu's designs are to die for!

good morning - my day was very quiet if you don't count the coughing. I slept but did wake up coughing a couple of times. But not too bad. There was not a single game of hockey on yesterday. That is so weird so I watched some of the baseball play-offs.

Chris tell Cait that locking your keys in your car is pretty much something we all do. I was parked in front of my daycare center and I put my son in his carseat with the keys and then locked the doors. I felt such the fool as all the parents came out with their kids and me with my locked in the car. But luckily the police came and opened the door. My son never cried once he was happy so many people were smiling and waving at him. I was mortified. Now my car has buttons on the outside so you can never be locked out.

Rae happy anniversary! I think you deserve a nice quiet night in to celebrate! That is a shame that this new facility is so far away. I too cannot believe there is not a bit more security.

Jean we are waiting for the sun to arrive. We got rain this morning and it is still cloudy. I really would like to see some sun. I am sure you are off at your meetings so have fun!

Have a great day all!

Hi Ladies just popping in to say :hello: I am very busy this weekend! (what else is new?) I have to head out right away to pick up my new glasses. I am excited to get them! Then we are off to the Octoberfest dance tonight and staying the night at my brother's house.

Chris - Oh my goodness, more chaos for your family :drama: it never ends lol. Glad that Cait only locked her keys in the car and it wasn't anything more serious than that! Sure hope that the weather improves for you light up tonight! Did your Mom find a new dress while you were both out shopping?

Rae - Happy Anniversary!! I don't blame you for not wanting to go anywhere, you are always on the go somewhere so staying at home and having a quiet night sounds perfect! :gaah: on the new people wanting B to go out on her own!!! WTH are thinking?? Sure hope they know what they are doing! Do the patients that have a tendency to run have to wear a special bracelet that triggers an alarm or anything? Sending you lots of love from across the water!

Nancy - Sorry you are coughing so much, hope you feel better soon! How awful that your son got locked inside the car, sorry but its kind of funny too :becky: You must have felt so bad though! Thank goodness he never cried at all, what a good idea to have the buttons so that it will never happen again!

Ok I gotta get busy and get outta here! :bolt: see you tomorrow

I did "attend" a meeting this morning, but it was in Arlington, Va. It was a two-part presentation on a new piece of genealogy software that I am going to talk about next week. It was presented remotely by the program's author and it was very well done. That went to noon and off and on since then I've been working on the e-books I'm currently creating with it. Also watching baseball.

Chris, what a mess with the car keys! Cait's lucky you could come. Hope your Mom found a dress before that. Hope you pulled things together today. And I too hope Felis knows that we're missing her!

Nancy, get well soon! Awful to be sick and not have any hockey either.

Trudy, hope you're having a wonderful evening!

Rae, hope the quiet evening will be a happy anniversary for you both!

th

It is soooo cooooooooold! 39*/Frost Advisory. I guess it is that time of year. I am not looking forward to having to take W out to go to the bathroom, especially as I know it 39* is going to feel balmy in a month or so.
I had another day of cleaning and another day of nothing looking any cleaner in the house. I scrubbed out the recycling bucket, bathrooms, vacuumed, 2 loads of laundry and scrubbed the tile floor entry of the area rug adhesive. Gary used his heat gun and scraped the majority of it up and I am going over it with Goo Gone to get the last bits of "sticky" up. The rug that we had there was old and the backing was crumbling from repeated pee accidents and wet shoes on it. My mom picked up a cute 3x4 rug when we were out the other day but the tiles need work before we can plop that down. The area is only 4x4' so it isn't huge but enough to make it a PITA.

I feel so badly for Scott. He came home from the tree research project on Friday concerned that the group isn't going to be able to get all of the data done in time. Some of them aren't as [involved? responsible? more likely to be slackers?] as he is and they aren't on track to finishing on time. He also didn't do well on his Chemistry test and needs to sign up for tutoring. His friend that was going to help with Chem in addition to being part of the research team had a family member pass away and won't be available to help for a while. So at 11 am, he was already very overwhelmed. He tries to turn on his laptop to get started on some homework-- nothing. Nothing at all. He and Gary try to troubleshoot it, see if it is the charger that is dead. Nope. Nothing as easy as that. He brings it to the computer repair shop and they are working on it. They are going to try to get all of his files onto an EHD and see if the laptop can be repaired if it needs a new motherboard. If not, then he is going to need a new laptop- which of course, now that he isn't working, how is he going to afford? Thankfully, he homework is mostly on Google Docs so he can access it on my computer but he won't be able to bring it to school with him (I have a desktop). Just darn it!! And naturally, *I* feel helpless that I can't just give him money for a new computer.

Please keep your fingers crossed that they repair shop can figure something out for him!

No plans for today. My IL's "might" come up at some point to give Gary the thumb drive with their photos on it for him to make into a slideshow for the party. Did I tell you that according to my SIL-- my FIL has (at last count) over 500 pics on it already!? This party prep is cah-ray-zee!! :pound:

Have a fantastic day and may all of your sports teams win!

Nancy- how is the cough today? Hope that your boys don't get it-- god knows they man-cold is always worse than the female version LOL
That must have been terrifying when you locked your DS in the car! I will tell Cait what you said.

Trudy- tell your Gary you need a weekend off! hahaha!! Did you have a fun night out? I want to see some pics of you and your Gary out dancing together.

Jean- sometimes technology- like a remote conference- is just amazing! Good luck with your new set of e-books too.

good morning - I am still in do nothing mode but you have certain things though that just make you move no matter what. Yesterday afternoon my DH comes from upstairs and tells me there is all this music going outside. He is not fond of loud music. Then I remember that my town is have a Porchfest. This is so cool. Porches thought the town hosted 3 bands playing an hour each. So we got Luther and walked to the two that were close to us. They were well attended with kids and strollers and the afternoon was nice. I think it is such a awesome thing! And I got in a good walk. My DH has codeine cough syrup I love that stuff as it always works for me. I think it is getting better but when you wake up to a house that is in the 40s too cold. I am not sure I am making it good for my cold as I have another hockey game today but it starts at 1pm so that is good. We are playing a really good team the San Jose Sharks so I hope my team can keep us their winning ways. My DH is going with me today so that makes me very happy. I am going to bring my back up hard drive to my son's and hope that he does not erase what I have on there. He is pretty good with tech stuff. Still scary though to give you precious backup to your son!

Chris I too am an icicle and it sucks. I have yet to be warm this summer. All my vacations have been to cool climates and I have not been able to visit AZ so I am going to have a hard time this winter LOL. Wow 500 photos for the slide show. But married that long not surprising there are that many. How nice to clean the tile and a new rug - sweet! But of my gosh that is so sad about the laptop. I am so sorry. I sure hope they find a quick cheap fix!

OH Trudy what a romantic night of dancing and time with family! I hope they took photos of you two.

Jean I loved how conferencing can be done remotely! Makes everyone's life easier and cheaper too. Have fun with the new e-books you are creating

Rae hope you have a great day!

Felis I wish you would come back and talk to us!

Have a great day all!

Beautiful day and not quite as cold, but we'll be watching football and eating the pot roast now making good smells in the crockpot. Of course I'll be watching while on the computer or reading.

Chris, poor Scott indeed! But the laptop part is worst to me, so here's wishing for a full recovery with not a lot of $$. Can't help with the cold weather though, we just put the snow brush back in the car just in case though none of that is in our forecast anytime soon.

Nancy, can you squeeze in a fall/winter visit to AZ? That would probably feel really good. Just think about it and maybe the cold will dry up. The music thing on the porches is a fun sounding event. Did Luther enjoy it too?

Thinking this sunshine to you all.
