Happy weekend my friends!!!

I am just going to open this up, my coffee is getting cold and I need to drink it quickly. And if I blabber on and on like I usually do, it will get even colder.

So I am gonna skim through the forums and be back when both hands are free to type.
See, this is another reason why caffeine should be available in IV form..... I could do both at the same time
:D

well, I am back- took me a bit longer cuz I needed to get in the shower. Good timing too, since I have now three teenagers wanting to get showered and ready for our big Autumn Lights Festival. 45 minutes later and only 1 1/2 showers have been completed. Hope the hot water holds out for the last one in.

It is freezing here! Glad I am not out there as a vendor this morning. 29*!! YUCK!!! Its cold for me inside, can you imagine how cranky I'd be out there? It is sunny so that is at least a good thing. Last year we had a eerily hot 75* degree day, only to get 19" of snow dumped on us 2 weeks later. Maybe this year it will be cold today and we'll have 80* weather in 2 weeks, I can handle that just fine, thank you very much.

I don't have much in the way of plans myself today. Scott is going to see the Misfits tonight and I'll be driving his GF home this afternoon while he gets ready. He is going with Cait's BF and a couple other guys and they are all coming back here to sleep over. Cait's BF, Jake, told her that he didn't want Gary and I to get sick of him, but he treats her so nicely, and she even told him that.

So I am off gain, gonna try and get some chores done before I start running kids back and forth all day. And boy I want to scrap -- the shop and gallery here are just filled to the brim with amazing stuff!

Have a great day!!!

Morning Chris... everyone must be still sleeping?? Or super busy today? I couldn't believe it when I rolled over and looked at the alarm clock this morning and it said 8:35????? Wow I never sleep that long!! I slept 9hrs!! Wooot!! Hubby however was awake at 5:30 the neighbour beside us was just getting home from work and was calling and whistling for her cat to come in the house  don't you know that most people are still in bed????? I however did not hear a thing :becky:
Chris - Sounds like you are a busy taxi driver! You are a great Mom to have all those kids sleep over, but I know there is a method to your madness... you know where your own kids are!! Not so :loco: are you!

DH and myself are off to get groceries today and then look for a new desk and perhaps a new chair for my IMac . Did I tell you all how much I love my new computer?? I did didn't I ? Ok I will shut up now. :tape: LOL. Hope your weekend is filled with great things!

where IS everyone?? well, i've been gone, driving off to visit my Aunt, who lives 45 minutes away. and we chatted and ate lunch and picked the card she wants to use for her Birthday invitation. then i drove back, and here i am. eating low fat string cheese and checkin' out The O!

Chris, you must really like kids that's all i can say. except that they must really like YOU, too! Have fun at your festival. it looks like a perfect day for something like that.

Trudy, all that SLEEP!! lucky you. i've been doing pretty well lately. haven't been up at 3:30 a.m., at least. last night it was the usual 6 hours. i was out at the local Apple store yesterday. i just KNOW at some point that i will switch over to a Mac. it's just a matter of time. the definition on my new iPod Touch is totally amazing. it's some new kind of thing. "retina" something-or-other. beautiful! i'm sure you're having fun with your new machine.

me and the rest of the day. hmmm. well, fold the sheets in the dryer, i guess. have a glass of wine later. eat some leftover pizza for dinner. ahhh, the joys of Hubby being away for the weekend. :becky: then i think i might rent The Avengers on iTunes and enjoy some special effects and some Tom Hiddleston eye candy.

hope it's a beautiful day in your neighborhood!

well, I had to take my man to the eye dr and then we went to breakfast, I came home and paid bills and now I am wondering how long before my head turns into a full blown sinus infection? Anyways- tonight we dance and it will be fun- I hope- need to drag him down to the basement to practice soon!

Hi everybody!
Wow, it is slow here! I'm not up for adding much, either. Vince has CQ duty this weekend, and I'm home catching up on homework since I was sick all week. My mom's in the hospital, I think I mentioned that, and her condition has gotten worse. They moved her to the cardiac unit, and some kind of medication they have her on is making her confused and giving her anxiety attacks. Not fun for Mom. I did manage to talk to her a bit, and made her laugh.. so that's an accomplishment, I suppose.

Now I have to figure out what to feed the kids. Haven't been shopping in a week. Chicken nuggets, anybody?

Andrea, if you mom is on Cipro, or any other antibiotic in that drug family (Quinolones), tell them to take her OFF of it and give her a different one!!!!! i hope she'll be doing better soon.

Laurie, hope you're feeling better soon, too. i can't imagine spinning around on the dance floor with a sinus infection!!

Good morning! Craziness here...but of course, that is our norm. Shaun has been coughing like crazy for almost a week so he stayed home with Brian yesterday and a doctor's appointment is in store for tomorrow. No sore throat, no fever, but way too much coughing!

That left Syd and I to do two soccer games! The first was supposed to be at 9:15 but rain and lightning caused delay. She finally got in the two games and came home exhausted. She had a big sandwich for supper and then went to sleep by 7! This is my energizer bunny...she never goes to sleep early! Thought she might wake in the middle of the night but she didn't. One more soccer game today and then some free time!

Chris, the festival sounds fun!

Laurie, I agree with Phylis, the dancing with a sinus infection sounds painful!

Andrea, I am so sorry about your mom. Hope they get it figured out quickly. You have certainly been through it lately! Hang in there!

Trudy, hope the grocery shopping went well! We did some of that after soccer practice! That was two nights shopping excursions this week...each at about $120. Insane!

Phylis, sounds like you had a great night planned. Hope it went just like you planned!

morning all -I am hoping it does not go to a full blown sinus infection. The spinning wasn't bad- especially since our song was cut short before we could dance it's original ending- without telling us ahead of time. so we were rather confused and stopped in the middle of the floor and went- WTH, I kind of curtsied and we walked off (steaming of course) MMG is not happy. Not sure what will happen when he goes in next week to talk to the owner. The other thing that happened, is the person in charge of programs asked everyone for quotes about dedication of the dance, why they dance- but not us- and we have been there when he was. So yeah not the way we planned the evening at all. Didn't even ask anyone to take pics- maybe I will set it up to take some in the basement. Today, church, laundry, paperwork and a workout!

well, Hubby is due home today. it seems like he just left!! i didn't really get a lot done. just the usual, with a visit to my Aunt in between. i've been up since 5, doing some laundry and ironing and decluttering. my daughter's coming over later today. we'll see if she's thawing a little more toward me. wonder if we'll ever get back to where we were. who knows? it is what it is.

today i think i'm going to clean the fridge. woot. then more laundry. then perhaps some page-making. and of course, Hubby will expect dinner, so there's THAT. :drama: ah, but SKYPE with the Grandmen at some point today! that always makes me laugh.

Linda, hope your Little Guy gets to feeling better! there really seems to be a LOT going around over the last few weeks. hope it passes right by here!

Laurie. WTH!??:mmph: will you be able to get to the bottom of that rude treatment? how annoying.

OK. off to do more laundry and wait for the arrival of various family members over the next few hours.

have a lovely Sunday. a day of rest.

Morning ladies... well I am paying for my wonderful 9hrs of sleep yesterday, I was awake at 1:30, then 3:00 and finally dragged my butt out of bed at 5am. So here I sit. Guess its a good time to get to work on my calendars!

Phylis - you had the same supper last night as I did, left over pizza from Romeo's Pizza Place is the best!!! Hope you enjoyed your me time, it goes by quickly doesn't it!! How nice that you get to Skype with the Grandmen today!! I am hoping to facetime with my babies today also. Love that they also have Apple products and we get to face time a lot. Some times the kids call at all hours when mom and dad don't know that they are playing with the iPhone. But grandma doesn't mind :becky:

Linda S - Hope your young man feels better and that darn cough goes away!! I guess it is that time of year when all the viruses attack us. Enjoy your sunday!!

Laurie - How RUDE!!! I would be steaming mad  Hope you give that guy a piece of your mind!!! Try not to let it spoil the rest of your weekend!

Andrea - Oh I hope your mother starts to get better soon!! It must be worrisome for you! Nice that you could make her laugh, you know what they say... laughter is the best medicine! I love your chicken nugget idea LOL.

Well yesterday DH and I went shopping for a new Desk for my IMac and ended up getting a very nice one at Staples, also two new chairs for the kitchen Island. We have been searching for these chairs for 2 years now. The Island is an unusual height and we have been having a terrible time finding the right chairs. Anyway we got two drafting chairs that are so comfortable, they adjust to any height and have foot rest and are just perfect for this spot. Not your typical bar stool I know but we love them!! My new desk is being delivered on Monday and then hubby will have to assemble it. Guess I will have to keep working now, we spent way too much money yesterday!! LOL.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Hi - I have never posted here before but I have been reading so I am taking the plunge. I am going through hockey withdrawal. I find it so hard to have much sympathy for either side when the major stumbling block is how to spilt 3 billion dollars. But with that said I still need hockey. My husband and I, our son and his new wife along with several other NJ Devils hockey fans went to Albany, NY (3 hr drive) to see the minor league team the Albany Devils. While there my son and I were interviewed by local NBC TV station and yes were made the 11pm new. I just had to share as you all have left such kind comments on my hockey pages. here is the link to there page - video on demand - I am the NHL's loss is Albany's gain - http://wnyt.com/article/12415/

Nancy- so wonderful to have you drop in. I love the variety of your hockey pages- off to see your interview!

Good morning my sweet o-friends!

Dragging my sorry butt a bit this morning.I spent way too much time driving yesterday ;)
The entire center of town was a mess of traffic. The newspaper estimated 20,000 were going to be at the festival and 99% of them were in the parking lot as I was trying to drop several batches of kids off. They had traffic cops posted at some roads where detouring was taking place, but not one at the shopping center parking lot where everyone tries to park. Nutty!

I also had to drive scott's GF home (40 minutes from my house) so it was nice to spend some one on one time with her. Being that they only see each other on weekends I don't really know her as well as I did his last GF who was here all of the time. I am trying to be very conscious of not comparing them so this gave me a great opportunity to get to know her better. Anyone who makes my son happy is good in my book :)

Then we went to my neighbor's for wine and pizza. I wasn't feeling up to it but Gary said he would go if I went and that guy needs to be around people. I was glad I got out too. I forget that I need to socialize as well.

Then Scott was off to see the Misfits at a club down the shore, and I could not sleep until he got home. I slept until 12 then was wide awake until 3. He was good- texted me when he got there, when they left and then when they were almost home. He's a good kid. Right now I have a bunch of kids upstairs asleep- some of Cait's and some of Scott's friends.

Hopefully it will be a quiet day here... I';d love to stay in my pj's if I could. But if Scott can't mow the lawn today I have too- it needs one more trim before the leaves all fall down.

well that it it for me and my blabbering-- xoxoxo!!!

nancy! You are famous!! :D
Cool interview, and you are fired up! Have you ever been to Mennen Arena? Its closer than Albany but they have some college and HS games-- just in case you need a quick fix. Its in Morristown.
I hope that the NHL can get a resolution soon for ya!

Trudy-- those bar stool sound awesome! Since I am so short, I have a hard time with my feet reaching anything. LOL So excited for you to have a whole new set up for scrapping!

Phyllis- great news about your DD coming over. It may or may not ever get back to what it was, but think of it this way-- a few months ago, you'd never thought you would be where you are now, right? Each step closer is wonderful!!!
Have fun on Skype!

Laurie- what a crazy thing to have happen. Grrrrr!!! Hope your sinuses feel better too!

Linda S what a day for you yesterday. Hope that Shaun kicks that cough, Cait is still coughing her head off too. She says it sounds worse than it is, so hopefully it is the same for him.

Oh no, Andrea.... hoping that mom gets better. Does she have heart issues or it that something new? It sounds scary, but I know she is in good hands if you are watching over here. How is Wally feeling?

Phyllis- very cool on your new ipod! Thanks about saying that the kids like me too. Scott and Cait always say that their friends would rather be at our house than anywhere else and that they feel welcome. And like Trudy said, method to my madness, I know where they all are!

hope everyone has a fantabulous day!!!!

Nancy, you STAR, you! great interview, but i think they made your son your husband in the voice-over!

Chris, dunno how you stay on your feet! driving and traffic jams and Way Too Many Teenagers! hope you get some downtime today.

Trudy, whywhyWHY do we always have to PAY for one good night of sleep?? sounds like your night was a nightmare. i was up at 5, too, but i was in bed by 11. i laughed at your Grandpeople calling you on the phone when their parents weren't looking! that must be FUN!

well, Hubby is home. back to Real Life.

Chris - yes I have heard of that arena but there is one closer to me that the high school plays at so I might catch some of those

Phylis - yes they made my son my husband LOL

Have a great rest of Sunday all!
