Daily Ooos: November 5-6: Weekend Edition

Sorry ladies, I am still in a crummy mood. I am pretty sure the majority of it is how dark it is outside, really makes me not want to get out of bed.

I have some really good news to share
Caitlyn got the job! She was contacted officially by HR yesterday and she is really happy and relieved. I am in awe over her salary and benefits. So happy for her, she will have a good nest egg for her and Tom. Kind of feels weird-- neither kid "needs" me anymore. I know they *need* me as their mom but not for any of the little kid-type things. KWIM?

I have to get in the shower and off to the FP. Then we are heading to my SILs dad's wake. I hope I will be able to pop back in for personals today but if not I'll catch up tomorrow

The snow has mostly melted, it warmed up and rained last night. A bit of snow today and tomorrow but then cold and sunny mostly for the next week or so. We stocked up on salt yesterday for the stairs and driveway. We should be good til at least after Christmas. It gets a lot colder and icier than we are used to so will have to remember to sprinkle it outside quite a bit so no one slips.

Today is chores, groceries and maybe some scrapping. I'll probably go to the dog park later too. Quiet day.

I'm getting more coffee now and need to figure out what to take out of the freezer for dinner tonight. HAGD everyone.

What wonderful news, Chris!!! Huge congrats to Cait - I'm so thrilled for her and her great salary and benefits! They will always need you, Mom. Think of it as them "being off your payroll now". LOL I remember thinking that wasn't a bad thing.

@bcgal00 I am loving seeing the pictures on FB. The dogs in the snow...absolutely wonderful photos! Sounds like you had a good (and productive) time in Vernon. I don't envy you the drive home. While I miss the snow a little bit...especially the freshly fallen stuff, I don't miss the driving at all! Good that you have the salt ready to go!

@Cherylndesigns I'm sure that the packing will be a chore. So much to do to get ready. But you should at least get a few more weeks of good weather and I know that you will love taking care of Steph and Asher. Do you have a non-stop flight? That will make the flying so much easier!

Thanks, Linda. Yes, I have a non-stop flight - I just didn't want to do the hassle of changing planes. Flying is enough of a nightmare for me. I'm flying right into Ft. Myers! I'm looking forward to getting out in the sun, after we get Steph home from the hospital. She has a pool at her condo and nice places where can walk. Yes, packing is a pain - I've been putting things in plastic bags for a few days now and packing things that I won't need here. I'm doing laundry today and then I'll pretty much be ready to pack. I'm not taking a ton of stuff - mostly "mix and match" and I can wash clothes there if I need to.

Not much on the docket for me. Shaun is at work until 1:00. We had a really good talk last night. I'm hoping that some of the things we talked about will help.

We got Syd's apartment app submitted...I'm the guarantor so I had my own work to do to get that done. So still have FAFSA to accomplish...which makes me a bit crazy. We never get a dime so it is such a waste of time. But, if she wants to apply for any academic scholarships, we are required to do it. Grrr...

Number 1 task today...figure out how to get my PhotoShop working. That has me really grumpy!

Not much going on here today. Mark is in the woods. I'm catching up on paperwork.

@LSlycord We had a wonderful time with my friends last night. Mark came for supper after working in the woods and stayed and played some games with us. He beats us at Qwirkle every time! We actually came home earlier than usual. He was tired after a long week! He was in bed by 9:30, LOL! I was pretty tired after getting up earlier than usual. My brain stopped working around 11. I didn't even get my Attitude of Gratitude Day 4 done! Now I'm behind! Such is life!

Soooo- I am an awful friend and sister-in-law. We ended up not going to the wake. Gary woke up coughing and having sweats. The Covid test was negative but he had been having a bad Lyme week. LLMD had increased all of his meds and he'd been flaring since he started (part of my crummy mood, when he isn't feeling well, it rubs off on me). After we started to look at the maps/times, tolls, and gas prices, we decided it made more sense to take that money and make a donation to the ASPCA in his name.
I decided to make yesterday a mental health day of sorts and did pretty much nothing. We started a 2000 pieces puzzle which is spread all over the DR.

Today I *need* to catch up on everything that I have ignored the past week or so. The holidays are going to be here before I know it and I have to stay on top of it. I can't be this disorganized and mentally chaotic.

So there is that.

Good morning! @faerywings yay for the mental health day. And following that up with a productive day sounds like just what the doctor ordered. I'm sure that no one would want Gary bringing in anything contagious nor would they want him there feeling that bad. ((hugs))

I started the morning on a high note! I've got Photoshop working. I was so darned depressed by it...but now, I'm feeling that I have a couple of layouts in my future today.

And yesterday, Shaun had another very good talk with us. I told him that he needed to find some hobbies...gave him some suggestions...cooking, photography, swimming again. He said he wouldn't mind learning a bit more about cooking. So the two of us are taking an Autumn Asian cooking class. We go to the Asian market as part of the class so I'm pretty excited about that. November 19 class with Shaun and then November 20 Syd and I have a pie baking class. He is also taking the next 5 weeks off of work to focus on schoolwork.

Ok. Off to scrap a challenge. Have a good day ladies.

Slept in until 6:30.... NO... make that 5:30 AM!! I didn't change the clocks last night. Still have to get that done.

Yesterday was such a fun day. Went to the Friendship Used Books/DVDs "Buy One Get One Free" sale. I took my large tote bag and a good thing I did. Ended up with 24 DVDs and 2 music CDs plus 2 more of the large totes. At $1 for 2 DVDs and for 2 CDs, they were a bargain!!! The totes are heavy duty 2'X2' bags with a sturdy bottom insert that can carry a lot. ($2 for 2 totes) ...... I have had mine for 5 years and is still in good condition. Got the DVD inventory up-dated.... now I have to get all of the 'new to me' DVDs put away. I have 4 stacks of DVDs I haven't watched yet near the DVD bookcase. Need to clear off the bottom shelf to have space for the DVDs. Think I will pick out 10-12 of them I really want to watch soon and put the rest in alphabetical order with the ones in the bookcase. I can mark the ones I have watched in the book inventory so I can remember which ones I haven't watched. Yes.... a tiny bit "OCD"... but after knocking over a stack of them, I need to get them sorted and put into the bookcase. Now that I have the office cleaned up, I prefer to keep it that way. So that is my next project for the next couple of weeks.

Good morning ladies. It's so pretty out there, 30° and the snow is falling. We are supposed to get about 3-4". Remi is loving it. I want to take some photos so may get out for a short drive later this morning. After tomorrow the temps drop to around 18 for the week so will have to be careful of ice. We will salt the driveway and stairs on Monday. Not much going on today. I'll be outside a lot with the dogs.

@faerywings hope G is feeling better soon. I agree with the donation with the money saved by not traveling, that was a smart decision.

I've got to go, Remi is pawing at my arm and staring at me intently...it is time to go feed the birds. My girl does not let me shirk my chores LOL. HAGD everyone.

Good morning. Two more days then I get into the grip of the airport/airlines. I'm not looking forward to leaving my control at the door and putting it in their hands. That's exactly how I feel about flying. I'm.trying.not.to.panic!!! #crazy

I'm going to pretty much wrap it up with my online stuff by tonight. I have a blog post to do today and that will probably be about it until *gulp* almost December. We're going into town today - I need some lavender tea and I found some at the grocery store - they even have the buds - even better. I thought I had more than I did, and I put it in my nighttime tea. My mixture is a little "strong" w/o it. I couldn't believe the difference it made NOT having the lavender in the mix. I'm glad I found it because the herb store is closed today.

Chris @faerywings sorry Gary is feeling poorly again. Good call to stay home and I'm sure the contribution will be appreciated. It's not always the best thing to go in person especially with covid still floating around.

Linda @LSlycord how fun about the cooking classes with each of the kids. Sounds like you'll have a lot of fun and going to the Asian Market is always fun. I'm glad to hear that you got PS up and running. You sound like me - I get SO stressed out over things like that. I can't even believe how stressed out I get. I won't stop until I figure it out, either. Have fun scrapping now!

I'm going to get off here. Chuck and Roger went out to their Sunday breakfast, and he'll be home soon.
