h man oh man, it is going to be a long day. I woke up a little before 4 am in so much pain. I am Capital D-O-N-E Done! I can't even pinpoint where the pain is coming from anymore. Hip/ribs, muscle, joint? It is all one big blur. I was fine getting my hair done, sitting in the chair, but by the time I got home I am really uncomfortable. I didn't do anything different and I am darn tired of complaining and limping around. :(

But the good news is that I am blond again!! And my curls are back in full force. She was able to mix the blond highlights in with the gray and is all very exciting.

Gary was able to replace the attic stairs so I can put away the Halloween decorations today. I want to get them better organized, especially when they go into the attic. I am sick of how everyone just throws s*** up there. I go up on a semi-regular basis and try to make some sense out of it. And it is mostly not my stuff. I have one small area where I put my F-W's stuff and one small area where I put my off season clothes. Gary literally cannot throw anything away and I can't even begin to tell you how many broken or obsolete bits of electronics are up there.

Caitlyn and I are off to the food pantry today. My friend's DD is helping there with the Girls Scouts. She called to ask if that was ok or if I wanted her to bring her DD by after I was done to protect my privacy. How thoughtful is that? Doesn't matter to me, it is what it is and I am grateful that there are people who are so generous.
After that, I am putting away the decorations and then I have no idea.

How about you? Any fun plans? It looks like it is going to be a nice day, maybe I can get out for a short walk with the dogs.

xoxo!

Trudy- :whoo: on cut and color day! Do you like how your hair came out? Have to say I am so happy that my mom gave me the money for it and she gave me more than I needed. I was left with $24 over and guess how much my box of wine costs me? Think I deserve a new box, don't I? :pound:
I hope that you don't have to spend too much time out cleaning the yard, but if the weather is nice it will feel good to enjoy it. I raked for a little while again yesterday. I am not even making a tiny dent but it felt good to be in the sun. Is your Anna LO in the Gallery yet? I am going to have to go see.
I have been toying with the idea od making an actual schedule. Blocking out time and sticking to it. I have tried it before with little to no success. but maybe this time will be the charm?

Rae- I hope that you are over the hurdle with the illness and you get better quickly from this spot on. Are you at the trailer this weekend? Wherever you are, I hope that you pace yourself well and get what you need to get accomplished without stressing. (Faery is a hypocrite. Just sayin'. )
That stinks that you couldn't find the show. Was it on Amazon maybe? I thought it was Netflix but then again, WTH do I know?? hahaha!!!! Our fall back when we have nothing else to watch is 30 Rock. Makes me LMBO.

Nancy- that is a long break for the Devils not playing. Hope they get their acts together.
what a great convo you must have had with your sister. You really do have a lot of great Luther stories.

Jean- wish your b-ball high had a happier ending. Hope that the Cavs keep you in good spirits. Silver is a very trendy hair color. And you rock it I am sure! The woman I went to yesterday and I were laughing. I thought her DD when she was 4 and the other woman's son too. They are now 21. SMH! We both had to laugh- where did the time go??

Ok, I should get in the shower so I can wrap myself in pain patches. At least I won't have to wash my hair today :D

Hoping that everyone who stops in today , yes, that means you lurkers as well :D- have a wonderful day! xoxo!

Good Morning ladies... Up at 5am this morning!! Ugh I wish I could just crawl back to bed and sleep like the dead!! Not happening this morning though. Pouring :rain: outside and so I suppose there will be no outside yard work today. Some errands to run and groceries to buy but other than that a pretty quiet weekend I think.

Chris - Sorry that you are hurting so badly! Glad that you are happy with your cut and colour though!! I am happy with mine also, no changes in my style, but she added a few more low lights so that I don't get too bleached out when we go to Mexico. I gave my hairdresser an early Christmas gift or some Norwex products and she was so happy! I really wanted her to try some of the items because she suffers from allergies and really is trying to get away from using any kind of chemicals in her home. Being around all those chemicals at work is hard enough, but she is always very good at wearing gloves and protecting herself from the dyes etc. Anyway she ended up buying a few more things from me, so that was nice too. I also saw my high school friend's mother while I was there and she wanted me to order her a new mop system, so yay for me and a couple of great sales! A productive day, with the bonus of feeling like a new person with no more grey in my hair :becky: How great that you had enough $$ left over to buy yourself a little treat!! Yes a new Box of wine is just the ticket!! LOL!

Rae - I hope that you are finally on your way to feeling better!! At least the coughing and runny nose is letting up, but that congestion doesn't sound like any fun at all!! I hope you get a chance to just stay in bed and get better this weekend!! I hope you got all your work done so you can just do nothing today!

Nancy - :How did the training go for you and your son? I hope that your Devils put on a better performance for you today! Nice that you talk to your sister so much! You two must have a great relationship! I hope your DH is not limping so much and that Luther enjoys his walks with you today!

Jean - Hoping that the Cavs keep winning for you! Sometimes I think that I should just save some money and not get my hair coloured anymore, but my hair colour would not be a nice silver I am afraid it would be a mousey browny grey!! Ugh! I am not quite ready for that yet. Hope you have a good weekend!

I think that maybe I will try to crawl back under the covers and get another hour or so of sleep, it probably won't happen, but I should try I guess. Have you seen the layout that Sharlamb did for the challenge 3? It describes how most of us feel about changing the clock back. :becky: https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/s...9771&title=challenge-3-art-journaling&cat=872 I hope everyone gets to have a nice weekend and that you all get to have that extra hour of sleep

good late morning - busy busy as always - I was up at 6 but just turned over and went to back to sleep until 7:30. OMgosh my son and I had such an eye opening experience with the trainer Lorrie. She showed us what he has learned and then explained why and then I got to try it. Well I needed more training than Luther. And it is all in using the same commands and the actions when he does not do it correctly. It is all about getting him in sync with us as we all are different but the commands and actions are the same. We are just to practice the heel and sit in the house so there are not distractions. We are doing heel and an automatic sit, and a sit stay where he sits and you can walk around him and he does not move. It is working but man it is hard as we are still thinking. It will get better once it becomes muscle memory for us both. Then the leash is different and I have to hold it so differently very strange. But he is happy and I am happy. Got up had breakfast and then took Luther on his morning walk. OMgosh what a difference last night's walk and this morning's. He is on a choke collar and he can only be on my left side. Well in the evening he was full of energy but did not pull and it was fun. Then this morning a cat went past and again he stared at it but did not bark nor pull. Can I say how happy I am. He still sniffs and all that stuff but when I say lets go we go. He met to big dogs on the walk and played nicely so that was awesome. But for a bird watcher like me the best was I saw a pileated woodpecker. I heard this really loud tapping and knew the bird had to be big. It is so fun for me to see Woody Woodpecker IRL. He is so rare. So now today he is worked for 20 min and then rests for at least an hour and all she asks if a min of two workouts/day but the more we do obviously the better off the training will work. My DH is not very impressed as we have more rules that he does not like but luckily he can't walk Luther so he can not be undermining the process. So glad that my son has bought into this and went with me it is a real help having two eyes and minds to remember.

Chris so sorry you are in pain. Glad that advil helps. Congrats on the new color and cut! It makes such a difference in my attitude. Glad you had money left over for a new box! Way to celebrate! It is a beautiful day in NJ. Enjoy!

Trudy wow what a great time at the hairdresser's. A new look and major sells! Did you and your MG like the drubbing of Montreal Canadiens by the Blue Jackets as much as I did? I did feel really sorry for Montoya though. Maybe you protect Price but to leave Montoya in for all that - not nice to me. If I had been Price I would have wanted to save Montoya and let my team try and come back. Hope the errands go fast in the rain!

Rae hope that you are on the up swing of getting better! Enjoy the weekend and rest and stay out of the rain as much as possible! Hope editing goes well!

Jean to me one of the great things about living in this area is that if one team is not doing well then maybe my football team or baseball team is doing well. Not really a basketball fan and neither the Nets nor the Knicks are any good any way. Best of luck this season to the Cavs.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Just got up not too long ago. The longer sleep is much needed. I'm glad I don't have to leave the house today for anything other than groceries and maybe a short walk with Taz. I'm going to pace myself throughout the wkend and alternate between editing client photos and doing my desk job which has fallen way behind this week. So, it'll be a busy wkend but I'll go at my own pace and hopefully by tomorrow night will have gotten a lot done. I managed to sit at the computer in the LR for an hour last night and set up some PS stuff and am ready to scrap there. It is a good setup and I'm going to enjoy it. My hubs was happy to have me in the LR with him instead of disappearing into my office downstairs. Unfortunately, being sick, I'm not very energetic and I find at night I'm just too worn out to want to scrap but someday.....lol. This sickness has to go away at some point right? It feels like forever.

Made a good dinner last night and we both agree it is a keeper. Pasta with bacon & chicken. Yum. I used laughing cow cheese b/c that's all I had but next time I will use Philadelphia light cream cheese. I will use a bit more chicken stock and reduced the amount of cheese by 1/3. It was a bit richer than I wanted it to be but it was very good. Next time I think I'll add in peppers and broccoli.

Chris - I hope you get to rest today and the achiness lessens throughout the day. Listen to your body and slow down. BTW, I did find that show on youtube. I've never looked on youtube for tv shows before. The quality isn't the best but I'm ok with that. Watching shows on my laptop isn't the best quality anyway so I'm used to it. I put it in my "to watch later" folder. I also found about 40 hallmark Xmas movies too. That made me just giddy with happiness. I love watching Hallmark Xmas movies. Yes, they are predictable, cheesy, not the best plots and are overly sappy usually but....that's part of the charm of them. I could not watch them if they were not holiday movies though. It is a tradition for me to watch some sappy hallmark shows to get into the Xmas spirit, starting at the end of November. Usually I am scrambling to find some to record on the PVR as we don't get all the selection the U.S. gets but now I've got tons of 2016 releases to pick from. Yay. I will happily watch them on my laptop during the day as I take breaks from work, whenever I scrap in my office and will spend some nights down here scrapping too as I don't always need to sit upstairs in the evening. I'm just thrilled LOL.

Trudy - what a yucky wkend, eh? It's a good wkend to stay indoors. I'll wait a few more weeks and hopefully a dry day, to get outdoors and prune back some of the bushes for the winter. Thx for the link, I'll go check out Sharron's page. I hate the time change, don't like losing an hour of light in the afternoon.

Nancy - sounds like some amazing training for Luther and that you and your son are doing so well. Of course, your hubs....not so much LOL. My hubs tries but he doesn't have the patience and understanding about the training so he only halfheartedly does what he should and mostly it falls on my shoulders to be the caregiver and trainer for Taz. You must be so proud of the progress you are making with Luther.

I'm going to go hop in the shower and get started on my editing/working mode for the day. If I do well, I might fit in a bit of scrapping later too. I'm dying to work on a challenge or two. It always is so motivating for me.

Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Nice day here but I'm inside at the historical society for a meeting and class we're giving (though I'm out in the reading room planning to do research.)

Chris, WTH with all that pain? Hope it lessens a LOT. Super for the new hair and the extra $$ for a treat. The attic sounds like a problem that may have no easy solution, but at least you can use the stairs.

Trudy, you had a great salon session! How nice to have the coloring ready for the sun in Mexico. And the sales! Hope you got back to sleep or at least rested a bit more, especially with rain outside.

Nancy, I'm amazed at all the details in training Luther. Nice your son has bought into the process. We'll want to follow along with your progress. As to sports, we thought we could have a perfect season if the Indians had won the World Series as the Browns may be a "perfect' 0-16 as they're half way to it now.

Rae, sounds like you are making a little bit of progress with your illness; the extras sleep must be the best thing. We know you're some better since you spent an hour at the PC in the LR. At least you know that's waiting for times you're up to it. Good luck getting rest and catching up on work.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

GoooooOd morning! Did everyone get to enjoy a little extra sleep with the clocks going back? I slept until 5.30 which means my body thought it was 6.30 Did I get that right? You all know me and numbers. I just do what my cell phone tells me. Ha!!

I somehow survived yesterday. My pain levels were higher thanI have had in ages. I caved and took a half of a Vicodin which I hate doing (I had gotten physically addicted to opioids years ago, taking them *exactly* as prescribed and coming off of them was UGLY). That helped me get around a bit better and actually function.

After the food pantry, I could even cope with getting in and out of the car one more time so I bailed on getting my box of wine, and spent the afternoon wishing that Scott was 21 hahaha! I am such a bad mom! OTOH- since I took that Vicodin, there was no way I would be able to have a glass of wine and the pain mgt was more important. I am better today but get this. The pain is spreading to my left hip and left toes. I cannot catch a break!

My parents are coming up with bagels this morning for my dad's birthday. He turns 78 on Wed. but we aren't doing a family thing since we will all be together for the dinner on Sunday. i invited them up the other day and said BYOB, Bring your own Bagels ha!! Did I tell you that before, darn if I can remember anything.

Other than that, I have to get ready for the week, and I still haven't packaged and labeled the stuff that I made the other day. I did get to try the in-shower moisturizer and OMG- I loooove it! I love that I don't have to get out of the shower and put something cold on me and then freeze while I wait for it to soak in.

I am in need for more coffee- anyone need some? :tea:

xo!

Trudy- yuck! I am with you on wishing I could sleep and sleep and sleep. People talk about how nice it is to sleep in under loads of blankets and being all cozy. That sounds like a fantasy world to me. To you too? I guess tat it was good that it rained. No yard work!
You rock with the Norwex!!! Great idea to give it as a gift and in a place full of women.
I LOVED that LO by Shar, isn't it funny?

Nancy- Your trainer sounds amazing. It sounds like a lot of what we did with Jaida. Unfortunately, we (I say "we" but I mean the men in my family- sound familiar? heh!) got lazy after we were done and then we all babied her a lot after her surgery. Now al of us have different ways of trying to get her to respond correctly and that is not working. he sounds like he is doing so well with her. Do you have one more week or is he done?
We had a pileated woodpecker last year and it was huge! And loud. ITA how neat it was to see Woody :D

Rae- hope that the sleep helped you feel better. And I hope that you didn't over do it with working.
Uh oh! Sorry that I made you look on youtube and find a bunch of other things to watch too.
I see. You understand too about the training and the men. Argh!!!

Jean- I should smack you :jedi: You are such a font enabler. I saw your LO for the Fontology Challenge and I had to go and download yet another font you have:rofl:
Hope that your research went well and that you were able to get outside a bit too.

Have a terrific day to all of you who read this!

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday flew by. I got a bit of work and some CT stuff done and did the annaLIFT which I haven't participated in for a long time. That was fun. We went to Walmart yesterday at lunch time. I love that we have the super Walmart with the food section so I can get groceries, bird suet, household and personal items, all in one store. We got the fixings for a big salad and chicken for dinner and I splurged and bought low salt chips and dip to snack on later in the evening while snuggling in my chair with a blanket and watching tv. The best part of the shopping was finding a pair of cuffed sweat pants that fit like a glove and are so comfy. I don't often buy clothes at Walmart b/c I wonder about the quality but I figure sweat pants should be ok. Hubs stopped for Macdonalds to bring home for lunch since its right in Walmart and we pass by it on the way out. Not me. I figured eating chips later would be enough splurging for the day. I try not to eat a lot of fast food or packaged food.

So today is another day of work and editing but I'm happy to stay indoors, am not going outside for anything. I have my sweats on and a hoodie and am so comfortable and warm. We'll enjoy the quiet today and then tomorrow Beckham comes for 4 days. His owner is going out of town on business so we're taking him this week. I'm happy to have him, I was a bit teary when he left in September, thinking we wouldn't see him again until next spring/summer. He's a bit of extra work but that's ok. It gives me a bit of extra money for my Black Friday shopping trip to Bellingham (I go every year and Xmas shop).

Chris - hope the pain improves throughout the day. Do you have a tub to soak in? My hubs uses epsom salts in the bath for his back and knee pain. He says it helps. Enjoy the bagels with your family. I used to love bagels (back when I ate wheat) but have not found a gluten free one worth eating unfortunately. My fave was toasted bagel, butter, cream cheese with onion/garlic. Yum.

Trudy - did you enjoy an extra hour of sleep? I went to bed at 11 and woke up at 9:30...holy cow...can't remember ever sleeping that long. And the bonus is that it was only 8:30 :)

Jean - sounds like a busy day with the meeting but I know you love it so it's a good reason to be busy.

Nancy - I love the pileated woodpeckers. We have them come to our suet feeder and they are huge birds and are a bit cheeky too. They peck at the BBQ lid if the suet runs out to tell me to get out there and put more in. A few yrs ago one of them demolished one of the porch posts by frantically pecking when he was unhappy that the suet had run out. He ripped out an 8" strip of wood, about 1.5" deep in a matter of a few minutes. We now have a big towel stapled over that pole so that they can sit there and peck but no harm is done. Eventually we will put a new porch/roof on and it won't be wood so we've talked about how to make it comfortable for the birds. We'll put some kind of cloth cover up for them as they love it. They play on it all the time. We get over 100 birds a day at the feeder. They love our suet.

I'm going to get to work now, so better go. Have a wonderful day everyone.

BTW Jean.....yes, I did love sitting at my LR computer for a bit last night. It's a great spot, is comfortable, I can see the big screen tv and can chat with my hubs throughout the night. The computer itself seems to be working well. I'm not having too much trouble figuring out windows 10 in it and so far all of my software is installing just fine. I sat down after dinner for an hour and organized photoshop a bit and visited the forum/gallery and FB. Then I was ready to crawl back in my chair. Once I'm feeling better and have more energy, I am going to love sitting up there in the evening to scrap.

Morning O-zies!! Feeling terrific today as I slept in until almost 9am, well 8am really, only woke up once and just for a minute and fell right back to sleep again! DH fell asleep in his recliner and did not come to bed until the wee hours, I never even heard him LOL. Today I hope to work on calendars and it is supposed to be a nice afternoon, so we might go on a hike today. DH wants something not too strenuous because of his knee. So I was thinking that I might show him the Dodds Narrows hike, it is one of my fav's where we saw the seals, who knows they might still be there playing in the currents.

Chris - That is too bad that the pain got so bad that you had to cave in and take a Vicodin ! Sorry that you were not able to get your BoxO wine. It does sound like you had a very productive day though and your moisturizing body wash sounds wonderful!! Have a great visit with your Mom and Dad and enjoy your BYOB!!

Rae - Nice to hear that you are finally starting to feel a bit better now! We have a Walmart Super Centre here also and its great to only have to go to one place to get everything that you need. It's not my favourite place to be though, just something about the place that I am not really fond of. Perhaps its the fact that its so big :noidea: Hope you enjoy having Beckham back with you for a bit! It will be nice to have that little bit of extra $$ for your Black Friday shopping! Its too much of trip for us to go over the border and the cost of taking the ferry would just offset any kind of savings we would find in the States. :mmph:
Yes I did enjoy my extra hr of sleep and went to bed around 10:30 and slept until almost 9am that never happens, but it was nice that it was really only 8am. Hooray for a great nights sleep!!!

Hope that everyone has a wonderful Sunday and that you get to do something fun today!!

good morning - by the time I got back to posting it is the afternoon. Whew. I took Luther on a walk and he did not go after a cat! Yea and then in the evening he saw a buck in the yard across the street but two good yanks on the choke collar and he was good. We did lots of training and he was so testing me. We did a late afternoon session and he just lay down instead of sit. I had to get him going again LOL. But we kept walking and heeling training and he did it again and so we had to keep going and then this am he was really good! But our house has a big good design and always seemed pretty large but with training and Luther our house seems small LOL so I am making some changes that should have been done awhile ago anyway and I will be much happier. And my DH has seen what my son and I are doing and so now he is going on Friday to be trained so that is great! My Devils forgot how to play last night and lost to the Lightning 4-1. They play tonight so they have another chance to win on the road.

Chris that is so strange how the pain has now changed sides. I wonder if unconsciously you are in pain one side so compensate and then the other side hurts. Enjoy the nice day today!

Trudy hope the rain ended and you got sleep. I loved Sharron page. It is so annoying to have not sunshine late in the day. I hate driving in the dark.

Rae hope you are feeling better. Glad you are editing and doing work only if you feel like it. I am sure you will get caught up! How nice that you like your new computer set and it makes you DH happy.

Have a great day all!

Somehow never got here earlier today. It was a lovely day, but it's getting dark too early! Not much happening, usual Sunday DH watching football. I'll join him for the night game.

Chris, sorry about the fonts! Diane got me started with the art journaling challenge which carried over into the lyrics challenge, and then Sara has us going with the fontology. I just went crazy!
Hope your pain recedes and quits changing sides. Your version of BYOB would be lovely.

Sounds like many of you liked the long night's sleep. Hope you can keep up the good sleeping.

Trudy, hope you got MG off on that hike. Would be nice to see the seals. Good luck with the calendars.

Rae you made good progress with the LR PC! Hope that means you're starting to get better. Your comfy duds must be a real comfort now. And having Beckham and extra $$ are both good things I think. So, not only do you get trick-or-treators in big numbers, but birds at the feeders too. I would love to see them (but not the bears, please!)

Nancy, how nice DH is going to join Luther's training. That is a big project from what you describe. Seems to be working though. Never having had a dog it is all over my head I'm afraid. Cats just don't get trained like that.

Happy Standard Time, folks.
