Daily Ooos: November 30-December (!!!!)1: Weekend Edition

Yippeeeee, it's the weekend when everyone can sleep late.
oops. I think I didn't get that message. Or ignored it. Or maybe my brain said some random curses and I've been awake since 4.30.
Bloop.

No matter, I have 2 large mugs/~4 normal cups of coffee in me and will be hitting the coffee pot up for more. And Tracy-- you stay outta my way!

Did everyone have a Friday? Get any Black Friday shopping done?
I got two more gifts, neither of them on sale but the kids are getting close to being done. Mostly stocking stuffers left for them. The adults-- PFFT!!!! I realized I don't have anything for my brother and SIL. My BFF-- I am waiting until after the MRI Biopsy, that might change the message I want to send. I was thinking about getting something made with the wedding photos for the grandparents but Caitlyn said that she wanted to do that. Her wedding, her priority. I can't step on her toes for that.

[feel free to ignore my stream-of-consciousness rambling about gifts. I think my mission is if I ramble long enough, something in my brain will get knocked loose and I'll have some sort of A-HA!!! moment. Until then, you're stuck with me LOL!]

My house is almost put away from Thanksgiving and already I need to prep for Christmas. Gary wants to bring the tree down from the attic today, which is fine by me. The only issue is that I don't know when or if the kids will be available to decorate. There sure isn't a lot of time between now and Christmas.
I got two more LOs for the wedding photo album scrapped, 11 down - 9 more to go. No pressure...
Cait and I are going to Sam's niece's first birthday party today. The book that I ordered came in on Wed. and even though it was listed "As New" there was an inscription on the back cover. I started the refund process and whoa, that was complicated and I only wanted a discount, not to return the book.
I have to make a card, bake the corn casserole, and pick up my prescriptions before we head out.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day and is ready for the big party here tomorrow!!

Yes! Wednesday was awesome and I did nothing and felt ready to tackle Thursdays cooking. I have a list of what needs made and then I write all the times they have to be started. I put headphones in and just happily cooked away. Told hubs dining area and livingroom need cleaned. I have headphones and cant hear. They knocked it out and it was a great day. Just three extra people and we had a blast laughing. Then we sat and watched tv (and shopped the O) and plan to do more (not shopping LOL) movies and just sitting today. Its been awesome and I so needed it.

That is what I did on Wed. too-- popped my headphones in and told Gary that if he needed me, he'd better wave his arms around.

I was not able to get to do any O-shopping yesterday. I looked for a kit to use for one of the Dec challenges and nothing was clicking.

Good morning everyone. Jen and I are heading out to a friend's home and we'll all go together to one of Calgary's biggest Xmas markets with hundreds of vendors, pretty decorations, outside firepits with hot chocolate and whatever else is there (this is my first time). She says we'll be there for at least 4-5 hrs. I'll take a photo there for a new holiday avatar. Got my gel nails redone yesterday with a pinky/purple with green/white xmas trees on the thumbs. I've never had my nails decorated before (other than polish).

How was the market? It sounds wonderful! I hope that it wasn't too cold and that everyone was in a friendly holiday mood. Your nails sound way too cute!

@faerywings Ah, I can picture the moment in my head. Such a sweet memory to hold onto. I am not surprised everything went well...it always does!

You tell me that every darn time-- for how many years? *G* And you are right, it always does or at least the mess-ups aren't noticed by anyone other than me.

We had a very quiet but nice Thanksgiving, and my FIL and a few family members are going to come over today and help us put up the lights and decorate the house and tree. I am making a teeny turkey and stuffing and pie for dessert.

Woke early (5 AM) but stayed in bed until 6AM. It is 26*F but feels like 15*!!! Brrrr!!!
At least it will get up into the 40*s this afternoon. Now that it is getting into the hard freezes at night, I need to remember to open the doors under the sinks that against the outside walls (kitchen and master bath). The house is well insulated but why take a chance on pipes freezing???

Yep, I have my mug in hand but it will need a refill pretty soon. I agree with you @faerywings....we had to be quick before @AK_Tracy beat us to the coffee. Have to admit that joining her on the couch yesterday afternoon was so relaxing and fun. I have been binge watching the "Fantastic Beasts..." (J K Rowland) movies on Peacock. Have one more to watch. For some reason - on my Samsung TV in the family room, the closed captioning cuts out at times; it doesn't do that on my computer. Will watch a different movie on the TV as it may just be the CC on the ones I have watched so far. Need to watch the ones that will be discontinued in the near future on Peacock.

Had a great time with the family yesterday! Even my youngest son made it and I had thought he was going to have to work because of it being black Friday. 25 of us from 10 years old to 93 years old!

Good Morning everyone! I am just popping in here again as it will be a busy day of running to the grocery store and finding some new jeans for my Gary, he is need of a couple of pairs! Then the dreaded family meeting is happening today at noon. Hopefully its just to announce some minor things! SIL Sharon is coming here for the meeting and then she will spend the night at her parents, it will be the only time we will see her before Christmas, so I am glad I got her card made and one for her Son and DIL too. Anyway I wish I could be more involved with the Party today, but I doubt I will be able to until tomorrow. Gotta go and get dressed, have a great Saturday everyone! Enjoy the Festivities today!

The Party has officially begun!
I woke up this morning with the weird feeling, "Yeah, today is the first day of December. HTH, did that happen?"
Anyone else? I think I will need to switch to the higher octane b-fast fuel. Espresso shots! JK. No one wants to be around me when I am *that* caffeinated. I think I irritated my kids *just enough* yesterday at the b-day party by jumping up to help in the kitchen every 2 minutes.
In my defense, I can't help it- it's how I roll- and Sam always helps me before, during, and after all of my parties. I came home tired but proud of my mom-skills. Errrr-- I mean I was so proud of my son. I met a lot of Sam's family for the first time and everyone said what a great guy Scott is and how good he and Sam are together. He and Logan were having a blast together. He sure loves being the "crazy uncle." Rile the kid up and hand him back to his mom. Bwuhahaha!

not much happening here today. I need to get ready for the week ahead: lesson plans, field trip plans, and decorating the tree with all four of the kids on Tuesday. Oh yeah-- and Christmas shopping and baking. I decided to make up food gift baskets for my ILs, parents, and brother and SIL.
They are personal and consumable. Now I only need to figure out that to make

That didn't take too long to get Jaida back inside. I think it is even too cold for her to stay out there guarding the driveway indefinitely like she usually does.

Same here!! The temps dropped like a stone -- it's 21 and feels like 8* right now. Friday is our first HS Pod field trip and the forecast is 26 with a Real Feel of 2* I'm hoping that they cancel/postpone. I guess we will have to see.
I think we should Tag-Team to protect the coffee pot from Tracy, I'll take the 6-9 EST slot.
Were you able to figure out why the CC wasn't working properly on the TV?

I am not sure why the Peacock CC on the big TV is cutting in and out and it works fine my computer. It might have something to do with strength of the Peacock WiFi signal. The Netflix CC works just fine on the TV and the computer.

I think I saw Buddy the Elf popping in and out of the threads already this morning. I will tell him you were looking for him... heee-heee

See I knew I like Kay better!!! She wants me caffeinated and happy!!!! But can you shorten the shift to 11 EST so I can have my coffee at 7 a.m. Alaska time? Please dont make me wait an hour longer!!!!!!

Today is warm! Its 12!!!! with 6"of new snow. Gonna make driving fun!!!! If you ever felt you needed to improve your prayer life, come see me. I have the solution. Its riding home with a child driving on Sundays. He's so not getting it and oh the slippery roads are FUN.

Good morning ladies. I had a busy day yesterday with an all day euchre tournament. We had fun even though we didn't win any money (our friends did though which was nice). We got home for a late dinner of leftovers and then binged a little tv. Today I'm home except for groceries and a few errands. I'll get Remi out a few times for some snow play.

I'm going to get a few more centerpieces done today and hopefully get 1-2 bracelets created. I have a busy wk ahead (7 days of activities/parties/xmas market) but it'll be fun. I won't be doing a lot of scrapping this week but things will slow down after that.

D and I were talking this morning at the kitchen nook, looking out at the beautiful morning sunrise, reflecting on the year in Kamloops and then the year here in Alberta. We've been here a year now, Nov 30 we got to Alberta and stayed in a hotel until Dec 5 when we got possession of the house and the movers came. Today is the last cold day (0F/-18C) and for the next two weeks should warm up to 5-10 F.

@faerywings Hope Gary doesn't feel too bad today.
