Happy DSD Weekend!!!!

I am so sorry I have been MIA, its been a rough week here, but I cannot complain. Been checking in on family and friends who have shore homes, and a few have had no or little damage and a few I haven't heard back from.

But I am hanging in fine. I tired to watch some of the Red Cross relief Concert-- made it about 15 minutes in before I said I couldn't stand it any more. Too sad. Too much loss......

So, this is my plan for today. I am gonna get in the shower and appreciate the hot water I have. I have to make some Oreo Pudding for Scott to take to a friend's b-day party tonight. Then some housework (very little!!!!) and then
SCRAP TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wahoooo!!! I think that is just what the doctor ordered!!!

xoxoxo Love to all!!!

'morning, Chris and O-zies. another gray day here. :hurt: but i know it could be worse. i could live in Staten Island. God help those folks in the path of Sandy who are still waiting for some help to arrive. i was glad to hear that the NYC Marathon was cancelled. after40,000 runners had already made their way to the city.

ewwww. i appear to be in a bitchy mood....

no plans for today that are out of the ordinary. the Pitt/Notre Dame game is on and has eliminated the possibility of going out to eat at My Big Fat Greek Gyro. :mmph: hubby must watch the game, so he says, and it starts at 3:30. so, there will be me, slaving over a hot stove and muttering profanity. :tape2: :censored:

hope everyone has a great day. it's Rescheduled Halloween in a lot places. i remember the excitement that "going Halloweening" used to generate with my kids. it was fun watching it!

morning- still in my jammies- been gallery hopping, filling my shopping cart and enjoying the day off- for the moment, the sun is shining!

Morning everyone... still my jammies too! Why can't I sleep in on my days off?? Oh well it means I get to spend more time here in the morning. Guess we are off to the In-Laws to help them get all the outdoor equipment put away for the winter, the lake is rising fast and there is lots to do around their property! I am sure MIL will want us to stay for supper, but we should hit the road early because the elk are such a problem on the drive home at night! They are huge and seem to think that the highway is a great place to be at night?? It's always a hair raising experience coming back from the In-Laws!! :fear:

Chris - Enjoy that hot shower, nice that you know how lucky you are and are appreciative of what you have!! So many do not! Hope you hear from those that have not responded to your calls!!

Phylis - Is the dreary weather making you a little bit bitchy?? Does the place you like to eat at deliver?? It would sure save you from cursing in the kitchen today LOL.

Laurie - Have fun filling your shopping cart! So many beautiful things in the shop to get!! Where to start?? Enjoy!

Off to go for a cruise around the gallery and get some inspiration, have a fun weekend everyone!

Well ... it's almost 4pm here ... and I'm still in jammies! LOL

Been scrapping today. It's sooooo nice to have the mojo back and scrap. Even though the subjects of my layouts aren't always happy - I am LOL

Today we meant to go to Mora and get John some decent shoes, but the brat refuses to go. And here I was looking forward to spend some money. When we walked home from a meeting with the school nurse on Wednesday, he was complaining that his feet was cold. Well ... keep on freezing then! Can't imagine who spoiled that kid?!!?? :pound:

Leftovers for dinner and nothing particular on TV ... guess I'll spending my time on the puter. Please let me know if you've found a way too stop scrapping with Maya's new releases and scrap with something else. I'm all tangled up in her net LOL

Thanks Laurie - you see ... Maya even sneeked in there ... she's stalking me ... or is it the other way around???

Happy Scrappin day all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaa I don't have time to scrap today but just poppin in quick to say hi! Have fun everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and Phylis, just tell your man to order in... while you are slavin at the stove, you could be scrappin... hee hee!!!!!!!!!!

Chris, glad you are doing ok, the scrappin totally going to make you feel better!

I just wish my littles would settle down a bit they are SO LOUD today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well plans have changed and we are staying home today, just :rain: too much!! I think that we will have to build an ark pretty soon if it doesn't stop!! So..... I am very happy that I get to be on my computer instead of cleaning up a huge yard full of maple leafs in the pouring rain!! We did go out to get groceries and new cook top for my kitchen, my old one has a big chip out of it and one of the elements has never worked properly since we bought this house. It should be here next week! How come a great big box store like Home Depot doesn't have anything in stock??? :mmph: Oh well I've waited this long, I guess I can wait one more week!

Eva - Glad your mojo is back and that you are scrapping once again!

Jen - Hope you get some time this weekend to do some scrapping!! Tell everyone that mommy needs some peace and quiet!!! Good luck with that LOL!!

How is everyone doing- time change is going to affect me this week. Crazy that it is light out and by dinner time it will be pitch black. Anyone over dose on digiland and scrapping yesterday? Head on over here with a layout or two so I can shop some more! I am up and have finished my weekend workout. I have dinner planned already- trying a new french onion soup with bourbon in it from one of my new recipe books!

Laurie, my French Onion Soup has almost a cup of red wine in it, and it's fabulous. let me know how the bourbon works out. it that recipe from your Distillery tour?

Trudy
huge yard full of maple leafs
you've got a hockey team out there? i was wondering where they all went....:pound:

i think we're going to the Big Fat Greek Gyro later today to use my groupon. you know, when people are craving chocolate, i'm busy craving salami and gyro meat....

hope the time change hasn't muddled anyone's brain. i went to bed at 9 EST and got up at 4 DST, with a lot of tossing and turning in between....

have a lovely Sunday. do something you love.

I haven't changed my bedroom clock yet so when I woke up and saw 5:45- I knew I had to wait a bit - not getting up at 4:45! I tossed and turned for 45 min, got up, got my work out in- haven't showered as I am waiting for MMG to get up- only have a shower in the master bath- one in the hall bath comes after floors and driveways on the priority list! MMG has been nursing a cold.

Phylis- the recipe came from a cook book I bought on the bourbon trail- actually I bought two books and now I am trying recipes!

Morning O!

Think we have half the clocks changed so will spend the day not knowing what time it is and be surprised every time I find I have an extra hour!

Had a great weekend in KC at a Celebrate What Matters Women of Faith Conference! Me and a few thousand of my close friends celebrating my birthday!!:) It was really a wonderful time and if you have the opportunity to go to one in your area, don't hesitate!! Lots of walking in KC.........note to self-take the comfy shoes and not the cute boots next time!!:)

Now I need to go check out the gallery and see what you all have been up to and creating!
Thanks for all the sweet birthday wishes!
donna

Good morning ladies! It sounds like everyone has the same goal...to slow down life a bit and do some scrapping! That is my goal for sure!

We had a party for Sydney's soccer team yesterday. There were 28 of us here. We ordered pizza and then I made salad and some of the moms brought desserts. The kids were outside playing soccer part of the time. Definitely have a good place for entertaining here.

I woke up early because I fell asleep early last night. So with the addition of that extra hour from falling back, I had an hour of scrapping time all to myself. Now I have both kids in the office with me but I must admit that I LOVE it!

Sydney has a basketball game this afternoon. She and my 9 year old niece are on the same team so I get to see both of them. Then we will probably finish by watching the other niece who plays an hour later.

This week will be crazy so I'm going to forget about it for awhile and scrap and enjoy IDSD!

I hear you on crazy weeks- work with the switch over in paperwork is crazy- giving me crazy hours- but I just realized- I will only work 8 days over the next two weeks and then have a week off! Oh yea - Then again in December I have a huge chunk of time off- not quite a week, but I will take it. My families that I work with kind of complain, but I need the time off for my sanity. I may go look at the rest of my schedule and plan for big chunks off once a month in addition to any weeks I have already scheduled. Sanity is important!!

Donna, the conference sounds good. I love those. I had a friend attend the one yesterday and she was saying that it was fantastic. (Actually, I probably had lots of friends in attendance since we lived in KC for about 8 years. However, one of my friends posted on Facebook about it. :-) )

Laurie, I am totally in awe of your faithfulness to your workouts! Pat yourself on the back girl. You are amazing!

Phylis, I loved your Comfort layout. Totally expressed the way that I feel right now. Enjoy the gyros...they sound yummy!

Hello and good morning! The sun is shining here in NJ but dang it is *cold*! If I could send every extra bit of warmth to my friends who don't have power I would in a heartbeat. Temps going into the 30's tonight and I have some friends who are getting nervous about burst pipes. Ugh.

i think I might bundle up and do some yard work/leaf raking today. We have trick or treating tomorrow night so I always try to find the "doggy land mines" that tend to disappear under the leaves. And that way, if we get snow on Wed/Thursday it will be easier to shovel. My goodness, Mother Nature, behave and take some Xanax please! :hippie:

I scrapped two pages yesterday for DSD, and spent a bunch of time in the gallery-- and am planning on doing that again today. Yay!
If anyone reading this has not done the scavenger hunt, you *must* do that ASAP, the kit is soooo amazing!

Off for some :tea: can I get you a cup?

LOL! Laurie, I know exactly what you are saying about the breaks creating sanity! I don't know what I would do without them. And, like you, I plan them and then count down to them and then plan the next one!

Oh Chris, your weather is crazy! But glad that you got some time to scrap yesterday. The gallery is gorgeous this morning!

Laurie, I am totally in awe of your faithfulness to your workouts! Pat yourself on the back girl. You are amazing!

I have a great online workout place that gives as many positive vibes for showing up and alternatives for not working body parts! A new 8 week session is starting soon here is the link to find out more if you are interested: No Excuses Bootcamp I am not a go to the Y or fitness center type of person so this has worked well for me- I think in 8 weeks I have lost a little over 5 pounds which is fine by me, especially with the stress of job change over!

aaahhh! I am back :)

Phyllis-- do you have sun today? Hope so, this feels like the first time I have seen sun in ages and ages! Are you expecting snow at all too? the eastern part of PA looks to get hit hard. My parents power came back on last night, so they are heading back home from their lake house. Its like they are going to dobe doing House Hopping depending on where they have heat!
mmmmm, gyros!!! Wish you could come here and cook for me. We can sit and bitch about the mess up of the Marathon. ITA with you -- that should have been cancelled Day One.

Laurie- jammies and oscraps sounds like the perfect day to me!!

Trudy and Eva-- two more DSD Shoppers and scrappers in jammies, love it!
T-- elk?? In the roads?? Ack!!!! I bet they would be beautiful to see but the damage they must do to a car. Yikes!!!!!

Eva- looks like Maya has got ya good! I haven't had a chance to play with her new stuff but the LO's I am seeing are so much fun!

Jen-- Hope you and the kids are surviving ok! OMG- I am finally seeing your avi and it is toooo cute! Hope that you get everything done in time, but since you are Wonder Woman of the North, I am sure that you will!

Trudy- hope the rains stops soon!

Laurie- French Onion Soup-- mmm good! I might make that tonight. I am on the last dregs of food. The only things left in my fridge are things that are soiled but won't fit into our bear-proof garbage can. (We had no garbage pick up this week and I only have one bear can and I have been squeezing it all in there but no more will fit LOL). But I do think I have onions and beef stock.... Oh drat-- no bread..... :(
The shop rite my me opened up yesterday but is apparently empty of much cold/perishable foods-- with the exception of frozen veggies Go figure! :pound:
How was it made with the bourbon?
Did you ever cave and get Pink Poppy Press's grab bag? If you didn;'t, you have too- great stuff in there!

Phyllis- hockey team!!

Donna- what a wonderful birthday "party" for you! Hope your feet feel better today! (But I am with you-- I love cute boots!)

Linda S - use that hour for scrap time for sure! I don';t know how you keep up with your kids- at all! That is awesome that Syd and your niece are on the same team.

hugs and love to all!

That happened to me last week too ... we changed time last weekend. All of a sudden my iPhone had me on GMT time instead of GMT+1 like we are in Sweden. I just wished it had actually moved me to the UK, not just the time. I wouldn't have mind getting to the UK for a while LOL

So breakfast is done, I am making fougasse bread- to freeze and to make into croutons for the soup I am about to make! I feel a layout about comfort food coming on!

Morning ladies.... ohhh I am so late getting in here today!! MG is painting the living room so of course I had to help with a bunch of stuff. Bathrooms cleaned, laundry done, sheets on bed changed. Now its time for some serious computer time. Oh until MG thinks its time for me make some lunch :mmph: Then my sister wants me to go to the hospital with her to visit our SIL who is not doing so well these days, she is my oldest brother's wife and has had respiratory problems for a while now. She is getting worse and my brother is quite worried so we thought we should get up to see her.

Donna - hope you had a great birthday!!

Eva - too funny about the iPhone, still haven't checked mine to see if its right or not.

Laurie - How nice that you will get a whole week off!!

Phylis - I couldn't afford those dam hockey players!!! Greedy bunch!! LOL!!

LindaS - Enjoy your extra hour to scrap away!!

Jen - Don't you just look sweet!! And ready to pop any second now LOL!!

Chris - Glad the sun has come out for you, wish I could send our mild temps your way, but you do not want all this rain!!

Enjoy the rest of DSD ladies!! Have a creative day!!
