Have I ever told you that I have the *best* kids? I haven't?? *G*

Well. Let me tell you how amazing my son is. I texted him to see if he loved me enough to stop at my ILs to pick up the mousse on his home. (It was absolutely NOT a guilt trip haha!) He does and he did. My gawd, that mousse is soooo yummy.

I don't think I got much of anything done yesterday aside from the Disney Cabinet. But that is all shiny again and I also cleaned all of the puppy nose prints off of the picture window. Gary moved the loveseat out of the way and now we have to wait for the tree to be delivered. It was supposed to be here yesterday but FedEx sent a notice it is delayed. It is in Tennessee ATM so it *should* be here before Christmas. LOL
I was able to do the shopping at the Disney Store site and got another gift for Caitlyn and one for Gary, in addition to the one for BFF/niece and nephew. I am getting there...

Not a clue what I am doing today. My ankle is really hurting today. I haven't done any of my PT exercises in ages and I am feeling it. But I am not sure what to do with myself if I stay off of my feet. I have 10 of the cocktail recipes scrapped, I *think* that should be a good start. I will probably get them printed at Walgreens and put them onto a ring. Unless I can find a small album at the dollar store. That means I will have to *go* to a store. Blech. Not this weekend.

I wish I had scrapping inspiration. Mojo is still MIA.

Have a fab weekend

@BrightEyes Sounds like you had a wonderful, relaxing time. I hope that your DD starts to feel better soon. Tell her happy b-day from us too.

@vickyday I don't envy you for having to do the cooking clean up but I am sure it was worth spending time with your family.

@bcgal00 Hope you and Jen were successful shopping and that you can relax this weekend.

@Cherylndesigns Good idea to get your boosters now esp with the new variant. Sound like they don't know much about it yet but better to be boosted ASAP. I wish Cait could get hers soon but she wants to wait until finals are over. She has a ton of papers to write and doesn't want to risk not feeling well while she has them hanging over her
I do hope that you are feeling better soon. It has to be hard for you to scale down and take it easy. Hugs~~~~~~~

@taxed4ever look at the cute bear!!! I bet it will sell quickly!
haha, it is amazing how Mason started to feel better so fast. Ahhh, kids need downtime too. :)

@LSlycord I missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ona did let me know that you were taking a bit of time but would be back.
I am really sorry that you went through all of that with the cardiologist(s). What a relief that you went for the second opinion. My mom really needs to have a valve repaired so as soon as you wrote that they wanted to do open-heart surgery, my stomach dropped because they wouldn't be doing open heart on her. I am glad that it is a watch and wait ATM. I don't blame you for being depressed- It would be a miracle if you weren't. So much to worry about.
And pfft-- no need to apologize!! So good to have you back

Hugs to all of you too!!! xoxox

Good morning ladies. Had a good and a bad day yesterday...ugh. In the afternoon, I fell off a tall stepstool, flat on my back. I was hanging up a jacket (hanging ceiling rod in the basement for heavy long clothes drying) I had washed and lost my footing and fell from the top step. Luckily I fell straight back, not twisting as that could have really done some damage with the bulging disks in my back. But the hard impact made my whole body hurt for the rest of the night so took pain pills before going out shopping with Jen. But the good part was that I did ok, I was sore and achy but ok. We managed to get some good deals, got Xmas gifts for everyone and there weren't too many big lineups. One place had a big lineup so we decided it wasn't worth it and left. Another store had a similar item and no lineup.

Came home to leftover pizza, the dogs played with Bella and then after Jen left I took some more pain pills and crawled into bed a bit earlier than usual. Had a good sleep and feeling a bit stiff and sore today but manageable. I'm going to take the dogs to the dog park today, I want to pop into a few stores to look for stuff for Jen as I couldn't last night when we were shopping together.

I want to do a bit of food planning for the holidays, I don't want a lot of baked goods so want to focus more on snacky savory things, some gluten free (for Jen) and some not, for the rest of us. It'll be fun to come up with some different things than we normally have.

I hope to get some scrapping done this afternoon and then binge watch some more shows of Dr. Death with hubs.

@faerywings How sweet of S to go get the mousse for you. I always say it, but yes, your kids are special! Take care of your ankle. I too am guilty of slacking off a bit with my at home physio exercises. I was thinking after my fall yesterday that I need to do more to strengthen and stretch. I think I'll call physio this week and see if I can get in soon for some more exercises to do.

@taxed4ever That bear painting is fantastic!

I'm going to grab another coffee, putter on the computer for a bit longer and then get dressed, get out to a few stores and take the dogs to the park. I hope to be home by lunchtime and then can relax for the afternoon.

Oh, NO!!! So sorry about your fall! Just reading about it makes me cringe. Hope that you recover from it quickly. That is the reason I try to stay off of stepstools and/or ladders! Sending you a soft <<< HUG >>>

Morning, all. Woke up at regular time - 6:30 AM. Been up working on the computer most of the morning. Decided since Thanksgiving is over I should change my FB profile photos over to Christmas. Only have a few photos of DH and I together at Christmas... I was usually the one taking photos. So, gals... get those photos with you and the special ones in your life while you can. As you can tell, I am trying to move my thinking onto December and what this coming month will bring. It is always a fun activity month here at OScraps.

@faerywings Scott is such a loving son.. and he was so sweet to make the trip to get the mousse for you. Sounds like you are progressing on the Christmas gifts, too. So sorry your ankle/foot is giving you pain again. Must be partly due to the change in weather... I know mine is flaring up again due to that. Try to stay off of it and do a few light PT movements... hope that helps. Hope that Chris can get the booster soon, too. The end of the semester always seems to bring lots of extra work that has to be done.

@taxed4ever Love that tiny art Bear!!! Wow, you are so talented.

Am off to pay a few bills and do a few chores around the house. CYL

Good early afternoon. I've been up for awhile, but just now getting on here. I'm feeling a tiny bit better today but completely stuffed up! Like I have corks in my nose. I yi yi yi yi Hate this feeling! Adrienne, Roger and Cam brought leftovers down to us last evening - we were going up there, but they surprised us by bringing them to us. I had a piece of pumpkin pie first. Haha They stayed while we ate and it was good to have Cam here w/o his gf. I might not have told you girls that he brought her. It was a last-minute surprise. "Surprise!". She has not had a very good time - won't do anything but lay on the couch - she's a native Floridian so she's probably freezing, even though it's not cold. Chuck said she probably wouldn't come back. Darn!

Chris @faerywings take care of that ankle! Do your exercises! I'm happy you got your mousse - I love that, too. How sweet of Scott to go get it for you - he's a good kid. I understand why Cait doesn't want to get her booster until after her papers are finished. If I have the bad reaction I had after #2, well, I don't even want to think about it. But with this new variant coming and they're taking this one VERY seriously, we can't take any chances.

Rae @bcgal00 I know you probably don't have a choice sometimes, but please stay off ladders! I'm so afraid of falling again after I broke my clavicle and now you reminded me of why I haven't climbed up into the attic. I'm lucky that my grandkids will help me with things like that. Honestly, I'd much prefer to do it myself, but I get yelled at if I even think about it. It scares me to think about you falling right on your back!

Kay @BrightEyes I'm going to FB to check out your Christmas profile picture. I should probably find a cute Christmas picture for mine, too. Trudy @taxed4ever I need to go back and look at your bear picture.

I'm off to see what I can get into. Not really - but it sounds good. Waving to all.

Oh my goodness @bcgal00 that fall could have turned out to be just awful! So glad that you are ok...and what an amazing thing that you were able to keep shopping.

@faerywings Scott definitely gets the prize for bringing home the mousse...must have made it taste even better knowing that you almost didn't get it! And thanks for the encouragement...this old age is for the birds.

@Cherylndesigns glad you are feeling better. And it is so good to have young kids around to do the climbing.

We are heading to St. Augustine. It's about 35 minutes from here. They do Night of Lights and everything is all lit up with Christmas lights everywhere. It is beautiful. All four of us are going on a boat ride to look at it from the water. Just realized, I'm not even sure if my camera battery is charged...might need to rely on my phone for pictures. Last year on this day I was taking pics of the kids at the ocean enjoying our last 80* day for 2020. Tonight it will be in the 40's while we are on the boat. Brr...going to take advantage of some of my northern clothing to same warm.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

GUESS WHAT???????
I slept late this morning!! I had to check my phone and my Fitbit to make sure I wasn't imagining it but it was almost 7 am. Talk about being happy!! I had to let the dogs out around 3 am (and it was snowing blergh) and thought there was no way I was going got get back to sleep for more than an hour or so. But I did and it was great!

Yesterday was busy doing random things. The tree was delivered and wow, it is much nicer than I expected. Bigger too. Scott will put the lights on it today or tomorrow and then if everything else falls into place, we will decorate on Tuesday.
The only thing that is disappointing me is there is no smell. Normally, I see the tree and the smell is there-- I will have to mix something up. The new scent I ordered, Sugared Spruce, is really nice and I am sure I can make something with it.

I did start a LO yesterday and hope to finish and upload it today. I ended up using a template because I am fresh out of ideas. Nothing exciting today. I am thinking that I should clean out the fridge/freezer and then sort through the cookie ingredients to make sure I have what I need. I started to stock up here and there, but I make so many cookies that I got through several bags of flour and sugar.

I have a strange question for you all. Everyone is asking me what I want for Christmas. They are aggravated because the few ideas I have are not "fun." I asked for more printer ink, a paper trimmer blade. Stuff like that. You all know me pretty well. Can you think of something that I might want? Not necessarily need but want? It seems like a foreign concept to me hahaha!!
(I know -- it is so corny but all I want is for my family to be happy)

Have a fantastic day!

@bcgal00 OMG, I felt that in my back as I was reading about your fall. :( How are you doing today? Not as achy?? You poor thing. *sending gentle hugs and a heat pack*
I love the idea of doing some savory holiday snacks. One year - a long time ago- I made black pepper and parmesan cheese crisps. I don't have the recipe anymore but I am sure if that is the direction you are going, you can find it or something similar.
Good idea to get in for some PT, I am going to have to start them up here again. If I can reduce the pain until after the holidays, then I will make an appt to see the podiatrist. The pain is starting to affect my knee and hip so I have to do *something*

@BrightEyes Such a good reminder about getting photos. I really wanted to get some of the family on T-day and didn't. Not one :(
My kids make me so happy (in case you couldn't tell) I think that the weather is affecting my ankle too. I also need new sneakers but I haven't wanted to make the trip to shop for them. I think I need new orthotics too and I just need to get to January

@vickyday
It is mine and DH's joke that the good faeries let down on their job again.......so, where were you, @faerywings ? ;)
Bwuahahahah!! All of the good faeries hate me! I am a bad faery ROTFLMBO

@Cherylndesigns Ugh, not being able to breathe is exhausting. How sweet of the family to bring the leftovers to you.
Soooo is Cam's GF a long-term one? Is she normally friendly? Having been on both sides of that, I understand having to bite your tongue when you know the SO is not right for the person you love.
If it is any consolation, G, S, and I all got boosters and only I had any sort of a reaction. It made me feel crummy but not anything like what Dose #2 did. I wish Caitlyn would get it now instead of waiting but she has worked so hard this semester that I understand her waiting. She is only on campus 1 day a week and everyone has to be masked and vax'd so it isn't at huge risk -yet.

@LSlycord You aren't old. 60s are the new 40s or however, the saying goes. It is much better than "you are only as old as you feel." That one is BAD!
I bet the lights were beautiful!! Sounds like a really special night out. Hope that you were bundled. 40* on the water anywhere is going to be cold!

hugs!!

Good morning…but only just barely! I slept until 8:30 this morning so I beat you @faerywings. I don‘t know the last time that I slept like that!
Brian got up at 6 and I heard him but I turned over and snuggled deep into my blanket. Both dogs slept with Sydney last night so no one needed any care. Then Syd came in with the dogs and crawled in bed beside me and I felt so relaxed that I just went to sleep and slept soundly until 8:30. It was wonderful.

We had such a good time last night. It was cold but not awful and the lights were beautiful. Saint Augustine is a really cool place.

Today’s goals are to at least get the tree up, even if not decorated. And to make some peanut brittle. Oh, and to finish a book. That’s plenty I think.

Good morning ladies. The flooding is getting worse here again. Our backyard pool is back and we're watching the front driveway to see if we need to get the sump pump going again to keep it from coming in through the garage. The rain is going to be bad until Wed at least. I'm glad I got essential groceries yesterday b/c I think the stores are going to remain bare for awhile but I wasn't able to get any baking supplies so will try another store today.

I'm going to get the dogs out for a walk again today. It does make me smile to see them enjoy the water so much. It's worth all the mud and wetness. Thank goodness my car is old, I'll be replacing it soon, so I don't really care how dirty they get the back seat.

We have one more episode of Dr. Death to watch today. I took advantage of a sale price and ordered a small wacom tablet for upstairs. I got a bluetooth one and I'll use it with my laptop. I got photoshop loaded on it yesterday. I imagine scrapping on my laptop will be slower than my PC and it'll bug me that the screen is so small but that'll be better if I can get a monitor to hook up to it. I'll take my time and look for a cheap used one.

@faerywings Thx for asking, my back is ok today, a bit sore still in the upper back (from the impact, not from arthritis/bulging disks which are in the lower back) but I'm feeling almost back to what is normal for me. It was definitely a reminder to be more careful. For gifts, all I can think of is...super soft fuzzy socks and mitts, supplies for your crafting, do you read magazines or collect cookbooks?

I'm getting another coffee, am going to hop in the shower and then settle in to do a bit of scrapping. I have to load a page I did late yesterday afternoon as I couldn't get into the gallery, it kept timing out. I'll try again this morning.

Enjoy the day, everyone.

Morning ladies! Back from the conference, I was away most of the week glad to be back and have some down time lol I will catch up over the next day or so on what you all have been up to! Hubby is feeling a bit better but still losing weight, so I'm hoping the antibiotics for his infection start helping a lot more soon!

Hi lovelies. I've been working on the Christmas tree on and off all day. Not ready for prime time, yet. LOL Chuck got it up last night and I've been going through my stuff. I found most of it - haven't seen it since Christmas before last. I figured a lot of it would be missing.

Chris @faerywings we're getting our boosters this week. i KNOW we need them and then we'll be fully vaxinated. Glad to hear that yours wasn't as bad as #2. That makes me feel a little better. I've heard both sides of the booster, but I really want them now. After thinking I had it a week ago, I decided - Chuck was going to, but I was on the fence.

I'm glad you understand about Cam. Yes, he's been with her for about 3 years. It's the same girl that I've probably complained about before. His whole personality has changed. He's so hard to talk to now. It was SO nice of them to bring our dinner to us! and I did get a bit of alone time with him. He and his gf left this afternoon. He did call and told me good-bye. I thought he MIGHT walk down and say good-bye, but he said he didn't know they were leaving for the airport so early. Roger's son was here for the night and he lives near the airport, so he was taking them back a little early.

Linda @LSlycord I'll bet St. Augustine was beautiful! I know it's been "chilly" there. My dd and I compare temps every day and it's been cold for Florida.

Hope everybody is having a good Sunday - I'm ready to get back to normal. Waving to all.

Been playing some catch up this morning, but still behind. And now I need to get ready to get to work. Things will slow down soon ... I hope. Work is a crazy place, we've been sick this month, the heating in the house is acting up again, the washing machine died on me last week ... and on and on and on ... But I'm NOT going to complain about November, since complaining about October gave me this November. LOL
