Yesterday day was the Day of One Step Forward, Two Steps Back. hahaha!!!
The One Step Forward was that my computer came in and it has all of the correct specs. :whoo:
However, it was bracketed by the 2 steps back. I was trying to vacuum up some dirt when I missed the garbage bag trying to empty the can when my vacuum stopped working right. It's shot. the hose is cracked in about 10000 places and there is no way to take the hose off to replace it. Right now we have about 5 rolls of electrical tape on it and I guess I am asking my IL's for a new vacuum for Christmas. Talk about a Bah Humbug!*grumble*

Later in the afternoon, Gary was working on getting my new computer set up when his computer's internet connection broke off. Everyone else had it, and he was able to switch over from the wi-fi to the hard wired connection so it looks like the wifi thingamajiggy is dead. There was a reason he needed to be connected through wifi not hard wired but damned if either of us can remember what it was. I guess as we move along with it today, we will find out. ;)

I have no idea of what is happening here today other than working on getting the new computer up and running and my neighbor is coming over to order some gift baskets for her family like she does every year.I know there is one thing I am *not* doing... vacuuming! :cofscreen:

Enjoy your Saturday!

Trudy- how nice of you to be able to not have to shop yesterday. I had one store to go to, Disney Store. I had a couple of items picked out and I had a Gift Card that I needed to use. They were having in 20% off sale plus free shipping if you spent $75, I think. I already had everything in my cart, logged through Ebates, and checked out. Then I kept getting a "Generic Error" whatever that meant. I ended up calling and placing the order over the phone, the cash back I would have gotten online wasn't worth the hassle. but I was able to 5 gifts bought so that was good. Leah, Brendan, Jenn (BFF), one thing for Cait and Gary each. Not a lot, but a start.
Hope that you have a wonderful weekend with DS and the kids and they all enjoy the food!
Rest shmest. I am stupid, stupid stupid. I did some more work for F-W's, and updated the price list and made some more labels. I should have just crawled back into bed, but would I ever do that? Of course not.

Jean- I always feel bad about giving photos or albums to my family every year but they love it and I am sure that yours will be very appreciated too. I have a couple of Shutterfly discounts too and I have to get moving on them.
Your Sister was very ill, over the summer, IIRC? Cancer? Is she feeling better? How is Treatment going?

Rae-I don't know how anyone does that. I am not even close to being human after 7pm let alone 2 am! hee-hee!! Glad that you got a lof of good stuff and tyhat your list is started.

Happy news /snark for the world of the USA and its love for guns- when I went to bed last night, there had been 4 shooting on Black Friday. 2 in NJ, 1 in Nevada, and 1 in TN. Then 3 men were shot in Philly as they were putting up Christmas lights. Tis the Season :faint2:

OMG!! That is crazy about the water lines. Guess I should be happy that the vacuum hoses breaking was waaaaay less critical than that. Hope that it is easy enough to get fixed.

Nancy- sounds like you have a very nice Thanksgiving and the day after. I wish I knew how to get Ray to be "nice" at the dog park. Sidney sounds like Ray who does not like it when other dogs come near Jaida. Hope you have a super relaxing weekend!

good morning - Well my Devils managed to lose in OT 5-4 to the Redwings. They really did not play well for 43 seconds - they game up a goal with 1.2 seconds left in the second period and then one goal in the first 40 seconds of the 3rd period. Really! Tonight they play the Penguins in Pittsburgh so that will be rough if my team does not tighten up their defense. Today Luther has been out for a nice walk. We did our training outside and he did pretty well but did have to be corrected as he forgets to sit when I stop. He really does not like sitting on the ground or sidewalks too cold? Today I plan on just taking it easy. I will of course watch my team tonight.

Chris so glad you finally got the correct computer! Enjoy and of course something else happens. Sorry about the vacuum! That is awesome that you got some shopping done!

Trudy bet you are having a great time with the grandkids and the birthday is going to be fun!

Rae hope you have recovered from your shopping!

Have a great day all!

Ohio State game is on the TV in the next room but I'm trying not to listen. DH really wants them to win. Can't remember what else is happening today.

Chris, well at least you can be happy the computer is there and getting set up and the Disney purchases are made. The vacuum, not so much. Yuck. Could you please rest up a bit today?

Nancy, sorry about the Devils! Didn't they just win one in OT? The joys of being a sports fan. Hope you get out with Luther and have a nice day.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Trudy I know you're loving the birthday and grands.

Hi ladies. We're home now. Fridge and freezer food put away. Tomorrow I will do laundry of all the bedding we brought home. I have two bins of food to sort and put into the basement cupboard. I hid the gifts in the cupboard downstairs, away from prying eyes. I'm going to relax and watch tv tonight and maybe make a page while watching something. I'm pretty tired out so not sure if I'll do anything LOL.

I was wearing slippers in the trailer so didn't notice but as Darrell walked by the stairs at the trailer he noticed a dampness in the floor. So there was another small hole in the water lines (from the critters chewing in the crawl space under the trailer) which luckily we discovered now not later. It did do more damage as it was slowly leaking since Thurs night but at least its fixed now and we mopped up in the crawlspace so it should all dry out. We left the dehumidifier on and will go back in January to empty and run it again. So it should be ok thankfully. That kind of problem can be really pricey. We returned our cable box and they were so nice, they backdated the return so we don't owe any money, in fact, we get a credit for the spring when we hook up again. Over the phone this morning they told us we owed $60 to close out the acct.

Chris - I had shopping problems too. Turns out that most debit machines in Bellingham have been upgraded and the new ones don't accept our credit union bank cards. So we'll have to start using credit or cash for most things. Very inconvenient. Sucks about your vacuum cleaner. Hope you get a new one for Xmas. If your home is like ours, it is a necessity. We have laminate, tile and carpet so a mop and a vacuum are a necessity.

Nancy - enjoy the game and I bet you are right, the cold ground may not feel good on his butt so don't blame him for not wanting to sit.

Jean - hi and hope all is well.

Good morning, and happy Sunday! Looks to be sunny but cold. Yesterday was so dreary but the house temps were over what we set the thermostat at. We keep the house at 66* during the day and it kept reading 67 and 68* I ended up putting the heat over that just to get the chill out and it never seemed to work. I had 4 layers of clothes on and super thick fuzzy socks and my Linus blanket. And I was still frozen. brrrr!

Good news!!! Gary got my new computer set up and it is working well. I am still working out some of the bugs, adding apps that I had, remembering log-ins (Thank goodness for Last Pass!!), that kind of stuff.
I think you will be proud of me too. I had gotten the email from ACDSee about their Black Friday Upgrade sale. I had v. 12 but couldn't find any of my info, I must have gotten it way back when I worked for them. I couldn't log in or anything like that so I must have used the company given email which of course wouldn't work anymore. I shrugged and said, Ok, I will deal with re-tagging everything in Bridge. Bummer.

But then I looked at the site and to buy the new version was only $41. Since I have been using ACDSee since 2009 (?) it was well worth paying that just based on the years of work I had put into it. I also figured that since I was canceling my newspaper subscription which was $52/year, it worked out ok. :D

I think that I got a bit accomplished yesterday too. Made a few more things-- beard oil- Cost me next to nothing to make. Scott just bought a small bottle not knowing I was going to make it, and that was $20. I am putting together some guy scented body spray, the beard oil and then some guy scented soaps as gift bag/stocking stuffers.

OTOH, I am really freaking out that no one except my mom is coming, :( MIL told me yesterday that she didn't think she was coming, but she did place an order. But darn it, I need bodies!:faint:

If no one shows, then everyone and their brother will be getting this stuff for Christmas whether they want it or not.

*deep breath*
It is what it is... right???

The other good thing is that due to my kids' not being able to make plans together, Gary is going to be out of the house for a couple of hours today. MIL is having second Thanksgiving with BIL and his family and my kids want to see their cousins so they invited themselves. Scott neglected to let Cait know that he was going to Leah's right from there and she would have to drive down and back by herself. It is a good 45 min's away and a lot of highway driving and Cait wasn't comfortable driving home in the dark. She will now drive down with Scott and Gary is going to pick her up. That means I won't have to do the annual "Hide the Fact that I am Baking Gary's Christmas Shortbread while He is in The House."
No need to hide them in my closet to cool as I have done for many, many years.
It is the little things that I have to focus on and that is more than just a little thing LOL

I am going to wrap this up, and do some quick personals and then get ready for the day.

xoxoxo!!!

good morning! it is chilly but no wind and lots of sun so Luther and I had a great walk. No other dogs but lots of smells. It smells so good when it is crisp and clear. And so nice when so quiet no one out yet blowing their leaves and no many up. My Devils put up a good fight in Pittsburgh but in the end Sidney Crosby is Sidney Crosby and he tied the game with 14 sec left. The Pens won in a SO. But my team scored 3 goals so that is great. And we are still missing Taylor Hall. I got a hockey page done while watching. Charles and I played Lego Dimensions. It is really fun and I keep being surprised how fun. They came out with new packs and one is Ghost Busters and that is what we played. So today hockey starts at 1pm and then all through the day. So more scrapping. I love the sale at Oscraps go a free collab kit and free mini kit from Anna for purchasing what I would anyway LOL.

Rae glad you made it home safely. Whew what a relief you found the one last leak before you left. Enjoy the day watching TV and scrapping!

Jean what a game between OSU and Michigan. I did not watch but all the sports reports were talking about the ending and was it a first down or not. Congrats on the Ohio State win.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Nancy- how frustrating that must have been to watch the Devils lose in OT. Hope they did better against Pittsburgh. I am with Luther, no way could you get me to sit down in a cold sidewalk :D

jean- that made me laugh that you can't remember what else was happening yesterday. Story of my life! hahaha!
Rest up? What is that??? Maybe soon I will do that.

Rae- the leaking water sounds like a big mess, literally and financially. My fingers are crossed that it all works out ok for you. How can you keep the critters from chewing?
Good new about returning the cable box and getting a credit! Nice!
That really stinks about not being able to use you credit union card shopping. I swear, these companies are fantastic about "upgrading" and screwing everything up!
Sadly a vacuum is a necessity in this house too. We are almost all carpet, except for the kitchen and baths. and with 2 cats, 2 dogs, rat bedding and messy people, I vacuum several times a week.

Hugs to all!

Good morning, ladies. I was tired last night. I ended up just relaxing in my chair, watching tv with Darrell and munching on chips and trader joes carmelized onion dip.Went to bed at 11 and slept til 8:45. I needed that. Today I'll be working to make up for taking Friday off but hopefully I'll get it all done by dinner time and then can relax tonight. I bought a pork loin yesterday in Bellingham which made Darrell happy. That's his favorite, so will cook that up for dinner tonight.

Chris - have fun baking cookies. I'm not much of a baker so have never tried making my own shortbread but I used to love my grandma's shortbread. Yum.

Nancy - enjoy hockey and scrapping today!

I'm hopping in the shower now and getting to work. I've got a full day ahead of me. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
