Good morning and happy weekend.
Did any of your (besides Rae LOL) do any Black Friday shopping? How were the crowds and sales? I didn't leave the house nor log onto any website to shop.

I had a really, really nice productive F-W's day. And I had a nice time with Gary and Cait too. Bonus points! Caitlyn has been making these beautiful handmade cards so she brought all of her supplies down to the table and set up opposite from me. I was adding ribbons to some soaps, labeling the shower steamers, and painting some wine holders that Gary made (yipppppeeeeeee, so glad he did that!). We spent the afternoon working on that while listening to some Christmas music on Pandora.

The house is still a disaster and I never got around to any of the bills and paperwork, but I had other things to keep me occupied. Nicer things than bills.
Scott had a good day at the garden center, made some decent tips. He came home and counted out $32 but he thought he had gotten more than that. well- he will be very happy to hear that he did. There were two $5 bills in the driveway when I took the dogs out to go potty. Must have fallen out of his pocket when he got out of his car. I can't wait to tell him.

Today will be a bit more of the same, F-W's-- I would love to finish up a few more products so I can start putting away the supplies that I don't need anymore to clear some space at least.

Yup, I am in a good mood today. Can you tell?
Sending that good mood vibe out to all of you. xo

Trudy- how was the shopping by you? Have you had any luck at all with the fingerlings?
Yeah, how crazy of me to do 12 days of F-W's on FB. And then for me to try to make rhymes? Bwuahahah! I wish you lived closer too, not to buy stuff but to chat and drink wine with you! Thank you for liking all of the things I have made so far.
That sounds like it is good news for your Gary and the union, but fingers are crossed for the Duncan employees. not a good time of year at all to be worrying about striking.
How did you sleep last night, I hope better than the night before.

I slept really well last night up until I started to have a nightmare about who knows what now. In the dream, I told myself to wake up, that I didn't have to worry about XYZ. So I did and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Pfft.

felis- I know, everyone thinks that I am crazy to get up so early but a huge part of it is that I need the peace and quiet in the morning with just me and coffee. J and R sleep right through me being up and about, but not W. I try to tiptoe around in the dark so I can get a cup of coffee in me before I let her out.
Ugh that you woke up so late and felt disoriented the rest of the day. Hope that everyone feels healthy today so you can go out this weekend.
The Animal Sanctuary is the huge place and the owner rescues cows, pigs, chickens, goats, and so on from factory farms or other bad conditions. They have tours on weekends and Cait and I went to a fundraiser there last summer. That is where I took those pics of Cait hugging Karen, the pig :)
I would be the same as you, I couldn't prepare food like that even if I knew that is what they needed to eat. Heck, I can't cook any meat that looks like it was an animal- which is why the only meat I cook is chicken cutlet, no skin no bones. I would stick to the shelters with dry/canned food only too LOL

I don't know if this is something that you would have available to you in your country but I have a light therapy lamp that haled my moods so much. I have Seasonal Affective Disorder which makes me tired and crabby and crave carbs when the days are short. The light is the same kind of light as the sun. If you have anything like that, it might be worth looking into.

jean- the sun was out here yesterday too, Scott had a good day to be working outside. Oh, how awesome to find some more family info! I know that if anyone can get the book project done, it will be you.
A couple of years ago-- maybe after I finished radiation therapy? My mom asked if she could pay someone to clean my house for me. I said just give me the money and I will do it - I know, I am so darn stubborn and willful. Been that way all my life. *winks*

Nancy- how funny to hear your son giving you a hard time about cleaning. I had done the same as you where I gave up and ended up doing everything for my family but I am learning too. It must be fascinating to see people from other countries experience an American Thanksgiving.
Those bourbon balls so soooo good!!
That gave me chills reading that Brian Boyle's son dropped the puck for Hockey Fights Cancer night. Hope they kicked the Canuck's butts!

Trudy- I can't go food shopping if there are too many people around, I cannot imagine how crazy the stores would be on Black Friday. I am with you- not a good shopper.

Rae- you crazy woman! I am glad that you did great shopping and now you can relax!

Morning ladies... I am up early again this morning, but I fell asleep on the couch after supper, so I really did end up having a fairly decent nights sleep! Today is a run to Costco day and we will most likely have to do one more before the kids all come home for Christmas, it is amazing how much food they can pack away LOL!! DH will have to stock the liquor cabinet again too, but since I no longer drink any kind of hard liquor I told him I saved him a bundle throughout the whole year :becky: DH doesn't drink hard liquor much anymore either, he will occasionally have a rye but can only have one before he nods off to sleep LOL. I actually scrapped yesterday too :bliss: It was fun to do a page again! Hopefully it means that my mojo is returning!

Chris - I am so happy that you are in such a good mood today! How wonderful that you got to enjoy such a nice time with your Gary and Cait! I would love to see Cait's cards I bet they are lovely! Yes the stores were a bit busier than usual yesterday, but not too many around here participated in the Black Friday shopping. I only hit a few stores on the outskirts of town, I didn't even venture downtown as parking is a nightmare there on a quiet day. I really want to get downtown though just to see all the Christmas goodies. It always puts me in the Christmas Sprit! Glad that everything is coming together for your FaeryWings party, I keep imagining how wonderful your house must smell! Scott will be thrilled to know that he has more tip money, thank goodness you discovered it! I bet he gives his mom a big hug for that! I am happy to inform you that the fingerlings were purchased and have arrived here yesterday, they are so darn cute I can't wait to see them in action! I actually will have one extra one as I ordered one off of eBay.ca but I will either give it to my niece Bella or sell it for a good profit as they are so hard to find around here. Most likely I will give it to Bella for Christmas though.

Ok my coffee pot is beeping telling me that the Black Gold is ready for consumption Horray! I love that first cup of coffee in the morning :cofbath: Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!

good morning and OMgosh I am so so happy today. I think Karma must have stepped in. I was getting ready to go to the game when my rep called and said that I have been upgraded to glass seats for the game because I bought my tickets with AmEx. OMgosh to be on the glass for the Hockey Fights Cancer Night was just so cool. Not only that but it was mystery puck night and I got a Brian Boyle puck. Well actually my son got two Brian Boyles and he and I traded. Our seats were so cool that we even got free food with them. My son loved that. So during a break in the 2 period Zach and I were put on the score board. One of our friends took the photo and so I can scrap it. Brian Boyle also scored a goal which was so special. Again the refs were horrible. But in the end we won the game 3-2. Came home and watched my Coyotes defeat the Kings. I had left overs for lunch. All in all in was one great ending to the day. Today is pretty low key. My DH and I have taken Luther on a nice walk. Gorgeous reflections in the pond. Will head downtown to do some small town shopping. I believe in doing local shopping as much as possible. My Devils play tonight in Detroit so that will be fun to watch.

Chris so glad that you are doing so well. I saw Cait cards and they are really nice. That is awesome how well Scott did at the Center. I can see why you are such a happy person today. I love the little poems you are creating for your 12 days!

Trudy I was watching the Bruins/Pens game and every broadcaster said that Sidney's goal would not count as the whistle blew. Only does the NHL allow him to get that goal. I can only imagine how angry you MG was. I am still angry. In the Stanley Cup Final twice the Predators had scored but the whistle blew. I had my son come in and watch the play and he was sure it was a no goal too. Hope it goes well at Cosco. I remember my mother being so surprised by just how much my DH used to eat. Enjoy the coffee.

Rae you such a super shopper!

Felis I am a morning person and even when young I could did not sleep late. My sister is a night owl. Hope you feel more in control today.

Jean continue good research! It is so fun to learn about our families in the past and preserve that for the future!

Have a great day all!

Good afternoon/morning/evening my dears,
To compensate my yesterdays offense, I'm rise up early today. First came here to comment a little and get inspiration. See me from today I'm ''Occasionally logs off'' . Finished some of the yesterday's work. Then I got started with really serious clean up of the cats house. I was hoping my mom to help with the vacuum cleaner, because it have strange temperament and don't work for everyone. But she still not feels good (mom not the vacuum cleaner :becky: ), so just skip this for now and used broom and rag as in regular day. I have to catch just a few little tasks more and plan to go early at the bed. I have very unhealthy habit of non-constant bedtime.

Chris, good mood today for me too ! I definitely have to check these lamps, at least I can find them at web, because I really need more regular sleep. My family shopped online on a Black Friday clothes for Christmas gifts, and we wait one book store which promise Cyber Monday. So great for your productive day! And especially for the nice time with your family! This picture which you describe all working together is like Santa's workshop :D.

Trudy, hope you have lovely time at Costco! I bet the children will be so happy about the fingerlings, so nice to get for your niece too! Did they still believe in Santa?!

OMG, Nancy, this is so AWESOME :cheer2: on a first row when it is charity game! You are really lucky girl! I'm not a sport fan but I compare it with the theater, and I bet it's give same exciting fever!

Jean, this project will come really intrigued. Did you plan to print it like a classic photo book, photo journal notebook or other? Also your 52 pages are awesome, I saw them this morning!

Rae, I hope you had your relax night yesterday!

Hugs to everyone ::grouphug !

Yikes, another day of football. Right now it's Ohio State and DH not happy with how they're playing. Hope they get it together as may be happening. Going to use leftovers for dinners tonight and tomorrow, so will have that to do. Mostly need to be working on family history book. I realize I have to get it done SOON. I had thought of maybe a photo book at Shutterfly, but decided to go with a regular printed book. I think I can get it printed and bound at Staples. I plan a color title page with the rest black and white. Any suggestions appreciated.

Chris, how delightful to see you happy. I love Felis comparing your working with Cait to Santa's workshop. Seems fitting. I can't comment on your FB posts as I don't do FB at all, but it sounds so nice what you're posting.

Trudy, super that you scrapped yesterday and sound happy too. Thanks for commenting on my pages. They were a long time coming too. Those fingerlings look so sweet, so glad they came. Good luck with Costco and feeding the multitude (which you'll love!!)

Nancy, I thought I saw in the paper that the Devils won? And the Bruins for sure did. But...saw the Blue Jackets now leading the division. How wonderful to get the upgrade on the seats. Everything about the game must have been so nice. Enjoy a quiet day.

Felis, super that you had a good day even without Mom to run the vacuum cleaner. Hope she feels better for Sunday. Thanks for the comments on my pages. Don't know why it was hard getting them done. You picked a page for the Standing O's that I think is super with a child and stuffed moose. Only saw it because you put it in.

Rae, hope you have a good trip home and get to relax from the marathon shopping.

Wishing you all a continued good weekend.

Good morning girls,
just a quick jump in to say :hello: today
and to share this short movie animation. I found it and it's so sweet (and with happy end, don't worry, Chris) , so I think you all will like it.
Hope to have wonderful Sunday for all of you!

And a quick notes that I forgot yesterday:
Chris, of course I remember Karen the pig, it's fabulous photo session, but I'm not remembered the name of the place. It's a lovely that places like The Animal Sanctuary exist somewhere, isn't it? I read for something similar when I was child at the book ''Daffy Down Donkey'' by Jean Ure. I hope places like that to spread around the world!

Nancy, I was so exciting about the game, so forget to comment about your Thanksgiving diner, so nice to share it with foreign students!

Jean, I think the time that you have for printing will decide where to print it. I'm really disappointed from the Black Friday prices for print at Photobox, I hoped to order one gift, but nope, early at the month they had better discount code, so I quit for now. You definitely have to make some impressive cover for first impression, you know. Oh yes this LO of the girl, grab my heart, not just because is so skillful made, but also Applechick is captured one of these little ephemeral moments, which I adore. The O gallery is always place of such an inspiration!

Trudy and Rae !

I sincerely hope today to be a nice, lazy and sunny day for all of you! :pupkiss:

Good morning, my friends.:)

it is the last day of a long weekend for all of us in the US. It is also crunch time in getting my F-W's products done and then my house cleaned. There is still so much that I need to do. It is kinda crazy!

I got a bunch more things done yesterday. I made a really yummy fragrance blend for some holiday shower gels and lotions. I mixed chocolate and vanilla FO's and added a couple of drops of peppermint EO. It smells amazing and I am not a fan of mint at all. I am calling it Candy Canes & Cocoa.

I wanted to rake the leaves out front not that most of them are down. I would love to do a bit out outside decorating before the Open House so the leaves need to be cleared for that. (Not to mention too many Dog Poop Land Mines on the lawn  ) I had my Fitbit on and was going to rake until my 3 pm alarm went off. It never went off and I kept on rakin' til I was done/ I went inside, looked at the clock-- OMG- it was 4 pm. I had been out there since 1.30. I am surprised that I can move today!
Needless to say, I need to stay inside and do quiet things today. Steam cleaning will have to wait for another day ;)

Did you see Gary's wine holders on FB? He made a Thirsty Santa and Thirsty Elf.
I never know how to get a FB photo to show up in a forum, let me see if I can do it here:
23844432_10155855571212770_7545430857876624808_n.jpg

I can see it and it is set for Public so hopefully, you can too. Aren't they hysterical?? My husband is so funny! <3 He is also making these wooden soap dishes so I can put my soaps in them for display as well as to sell.

The lightbox stopped working so Cait only made 2 cards yesterday so that bummed her out. (I think Santa might be bringing her a new one... shhh!:gossip:) But the ones she has made are stunning. I wish that she had more confidence in because becasue she only sees the flaws. I wonder where she gets that from? :/

So yup, today will be more of the same as the last few days. The only bad thing-- tomorrow my mom is coming up to do Cyber Monday shopping and I have no clue as to what I am getting anyone! I will need to carve out some time to do that today.

what good plans do you have for the day?

Trudy- yay for mojo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is fantastic! I miss scrapping. Maybe I can do some soon. was Costco crazy? I would rather stick a fork in my eye than shop on a weekend. But good for you to do that and stay sane. It is getting closer and closer to having the kids home!!!! yay!!!!!!
And more great news about the fingerlings! The grands will be so thrilled.

Nancy- Great news all over the O this weekend!!! How awesome for all of the good Devils game stuff. You must have been in Hockey Heaven! it will be fun to scrap the photo of you and Zach too.
I prefer to shop local when I can, but in my town, there isn't much of anything anymore. we do have a TJ Maxx, but that doesn't really count as "local."
heh-- glad that someone is enjoying the 12 days poems, I am making myself coo-coo over them. LOL

Felis- happy happy!!! Good moods are contagious and I always feel bad that I am a bad start to the O-Day with my non-stop crankiness.
Congrats on Occasionally Logs off! It has been wonderful seeing you in here chatting with us every day :) I swear by my therapy light. I hope that your mom feels better.

Jean- time really gets away from you when you are working so hard. Deadlines seem to approach faster and faster. MIL gave me a gift code for $25 off at Shutterfly but that means I only have a week or so if I want to order a gift and have it here in time. You will get it done.
As for colors, I am always partial to a sage or forest greens and plums.
My house did feel a bit like Santa's workshop, now I just need a House Elf to clean it up for me. Dobby, where are you? *giggles*

Felis- there is a wolf sanctuary about an hour from me, we have been there twice and OMG, it is amazing. The family that runs it has such a great bond with the wolves. There are 4 packs, plus he has a few fox. The packs are separated by fencing but can hear and see each other. Gave me chills to hear them howl together.
Can you tell how much I adore all animals? :D

I will have to watch the video and thank you for letting me know there is a happy ending.

I have been totally bad with leaving love the gallery. It has been days since I even went there :( Applechick does amazing work.

Good morning, ladies. Got a good sleep (except for Taz waking me to go out at 2:30) but other than that I slept like a log. I was exhausted last night. Just after we got home, Jen called to say shoppers was having a "use your points shopping night and earn more points" so off I went to meet her there only to find that the power was out and the store was closed. So we drove over to the other one and their power was on. So she stocked up on makeup and I stocked up on vitamins and face cream. Had a quick dinner and crawled into my chair for the night. Watched a bunch of episodes of Good Place with D and was falling asleep by 10:30 so went to bed. Still have some sorting and putting away to do of things brought back from the trailer but got most of it done yesterday.

This morning I will get my CT work done and do some desk work b/c there will be lots and then Monday is always so busy anyway, so tomorrow is going to be a nightmare. Whatever I can get done today to help my schedule will be good. At lunchtime I'm going to pick up Ava for the afternoon as her owner is going to a Xmas party. I'm excited b/c its been months since I've seen her. Taz will be going crazy. I'll have them play in the backyard as we've had too many wild animals roaming around to let the dogs off leash right now. A woman's dog was attacked by an owl. I think that was around here somewhere. Luckily the owner found her and saved her. Crazy! All the animals are so hungry and struggling to find food.

So shopping-wise, had to really hunt but found some great deals for Xmas gifts. Also got some clothes for me too at amazing prices. It's nice to know my Xmas shopping is 2/3 done.

Chris - C's cards are gorgeous. You are both so crafty! I'm not going to make Xmas cards this year for everyone but I think I'll make one for the kids. The wine holders are so cute!

Nancy - how awesome to have gotten the great seats for the game and the puck too! What a great night that must have been.

Trudy - how is the wind there? It was gale force winds last night and things were flying around and banging all night, poor Taz was freaked out. Everyone's power went off all around us but ours stayed on. Speaking of Costco, we need to go too. I'll wait til next wkend and go first thing in the morning b/c they are always busy but at this time of the year its even worse.

Felis - that video is just so wonderful!!!! Loved it. How amazing that the kid who created it got hired by Disney. That is awesome!

Jean - I bet your book is going to be amazing! You've worked so hard on it.

I'm getting another coffee now, will read a few pages of my book and then got on with my day. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

good morning - the sun is shining and my DH has walked Luther. My Devils won again though as they said they bent by letting the Redwings tie in third but one of our newest players Brian Gibbons scored in OT for the win. It was awesome! He is 29 and had spent the last two years in minors AHL team and now to see him it is really a cool thing. In fact he is our leading goal scorer. Our rookie Nico Hischier also scored. Now they play at home on Monday. So all good for the hockey weekend. And quite the surprise my son took his Amanda his sister in law shopping for a computer but came home with a new vacuum for us. It is a Bissel pet eraser. An early Christmas present. How sweet. He put it together and showed us all the pluses. It really works well too. So today has been chores. Cleaned up my bedroom and put away clean clothes and doing more laundry. I am listening to the new Sam Smith CD. I really like it too. Today I have 3 hockey games to watch. I watched the newest Outlander at midnight and it was good. But then they said only 2 new episodes left. Boo. But they are working on season 4 so that gives me hope that there will be 5 and more.

Chris what a busy day doing all that raking! Wow I am proud of you but yes take it a bit easy today. Love the wine holders you Gary made. They are so cute! You all are so crafty.

Felis I keep forgetting to say my DH is the Chairman of the biology dept at Long Island University in Brooklyn. He teaches the advanced courses and has grad students working on their masters. Glad you are doing so well. I loved that video. A wonderful message.

Rae good to hear you survived all the shopping! And wow 2/3 done that is impressive. How fun to have Ava and Taz to play. That is scary about all the wild animals. I have not heard of an owl taking a dog but not surprised probably easier to catch that their normal prey. I glad the owner saved the pet but do hope that the owl was not hurt. I have been seeing that you and Trudy are getting hit with rain and lots of wind.

Trudy hope shopping at Costco went well. I have tried that shopping but I don't buy enough to make it worth the hassle.

Jean waving hi! Did OSU come back and win. And yes Columbus Blue Jackets are doing really well and are just one point behind my Devils.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... Yup late again arriving here. Helping DH wash out and sterilize wine bottles and then we will bottle a white in a bit. So only a couple of minutes to say :hello: to all of you and tell you that shopping at Costco went very well, it was starting to get very busy when we were finally done, then we quickly got home to unpack and then cut up all the meat that we purchased. We will have to do one more run to Costco before everyone arrives for Christmas, hopefully that will hold us over until the the New Year! I picked up a gingerbread house kit for the kids to work on while they are here. Other than that it was a busy day of errands etc. Today I will help with the wine bottling and then get all my housework done and hope to clean up my craft room and get a bunch of junk out of there to turn it into a playroom for the kids. Wish me luck there is a lot of crap in there to get rid of :becky: Have a great day ladies!! I will catch up with all of you tomorrow. Oh BTW Rae, no we did not get any of that wind that you experienced. Weird !!

Beautiful sunny day but more football on TV. I want to make a quick run to the library for two books on German history to help with background info. Should do :washing: but trying not to think about it.

Chris, how amazing all that raking. Hope you manage today after all that effort. The F-W production sounds fabulous and the wine holders are so funny and cute. Good luck with Mom and Cyber Monday!

Felis, hope you've had a great Sunday and sunshine. The video is so amazingly well done. Can easily understand the student being offered a job by Disney. And so sweet!

Rae, wow, 2/3 done is wonderful. Hope the big winds have stopped and Taz and Ava can enjoy. Good luck with all the work today and Monday!

Nancy, hope you are enjoying a sunny day too. All that hockey will keep you inside though. Great that the Devils won and still lead the division.

Trudy, congrats on a good trip to Costco even on a Saturday. Bottling a white today will be nice and hope the rest of the chores go easily.

Happy Sunday to all.
