Who is ready for the weekend???
It feels like this one is the tipping point, the last one before the "official" winter holiday season begins. However, I feel like my mind is getting more focused on Christmas rather than Thanksgiving. Too bad that is just a few days away, and I am hosting. Blergh!

I am slowly working through some of the cleaning tasks, the ones I only do a few times a year. Yesterday was scrubbing coffee stains off the stairs. Caitlyn, Gary, and Tom end up dripping coffee when they go upstairs and if I cleaned then every time they did that, I'd never stop. So every few months, I scrub the stains and polish the wood. I also realized that I don't have enough chairs for everyone. Last year, I borrowed some from work, but I won't be in before Thursday to grab them. Scott says he might have a couple. I'll ask my mom if she has one or two.

I felt like my head was all over the place- and I messed up several parts of dinner. I think I was able to fix it but lemme tell you-- making a bowl-food salad was more complicated than it should have been LOL

Today I *have to* go to the FP even though I know it's going to be a long wait. Not going two weeks ago really made such a huge difference in the budgeting- I was $25 over budget for the week, and I had to go back to Shoprite yesterday and spent another $20.
It's going to be yucky and cold and rainy and I am going to be grateful and patient and kind.

Yoga this morning is a must. I think I am going to do the one for digestion, I had agita all night. Which wasn't great once I got it in my head that indigestion can be a sign of a heart attack. LOL!

I'm also looking at the Halloween siggie I still have up. I should make one to get ready for Winter (nooooo!!! :bawling: )

Wishing all of you a wonderful day and weekend!!!♥

One of my good Florida sister/friends just got diagnosed with breast cancer---ugh. We will be there to help her but it is always be a worry.
Sending good thoughts to her :praying2:
I hope you get your mojo back with all that time you are going to have to scrap...no work till Dec 6---oh my what will you do with yourself. I hope you do something fun during your time off
I'm hoping that I can work on Christmas gifts! Thankfully, I am still cleaning for my friends, so I won't be completely w/o money. That's the only drawback with my job are the hours are so unpredictable.
So exciting to have the backsplash in your house!
Went to bed to read at 7:30PM, turned the light out at 8:30PM and slept until 7:30AM!!! Yes, I was busy all day... stripped the bed, rotated mattress (so easy with the double fabric handholds), and did laundry: organized the books; scrapped a LO; searched for and downloaded images of books (for the book club tracker); and... yes... read a book then started on another one to read in bed.
No wonder you slept that long!
I started the Tom Hanks book last night but only got a few pages in before I was too tired to make sense of it :)
I jumped onto the Black Friday sales a few minutes ago and ordered an American style waffle iron from Amazon... it should be here this afternoon!!! :dancing6::dancingbfly: You can guess what I will be having for breakfast tomorrow morning,
Woo hoo!! Enjoy your oatmeal!! (JK!! :rotfl:)

we needed to go see Wicked For Good
yay!! Fantastic GNO! What did you think of it?
I can't wait until BFF, our girls, and I go after Christmas. I decided that I am going to scrap tickets for Sam and Cait and will pay for the real ones as a Christmas gift.
Its raining! Almost 40° and RAIN! WHY who said it was allowed to rain here? Now we have slop everywhere and the rain will freeze and grrrrrrrr really? Rain? Not amused.
Ick!! It's the same weather here today -- a little warmer but not by much. You know I'm happy that it isn't snowing here, but I understand what a mess the cold/snow/rain/refreeze makes.
I have a love hate of this announcement.
Same!!
So I suggest gift cards to eat out.
That is an option. My insecurity is that I can only afford $20-$25 max for each couple's gift. A $25 GC feels cheap to me. Not to mention my IL can drop >$25 on a bottle of wine without blinking. Makes it feel counterintuitive for them. Sheesh! All of my kids make more in a week than I do in months...
Not that it needs to be said, but my entire family understands and doesn't put any pressure on me. I do *that* on my own! Bwuahahaha!
we are working on an extension
Good thoughts that it works out!
So I had a heart-to-heart with Chat GPT and downloaded a new app, which actually makes the cataloging and tagging quite easy.
What app did you get?
David is doing his normal Friday at Habitat for Humanity. He says there is a school group coming today and they will be preparing lunch. I think he's a bit dubious.
I don't know why that hit me so funny but I laughed-snorted out loud! Did he survive?
I love my fingerless gloves. I also wear a hat in my office. But there's nothing to keep my nose warm. I wonder if I could knit a tie-on clown nose?
Oh my goodness, you are so freaking funny!!! I wear gloves/hat in my office too. Never thought about a clown nose! If you try that and it works, let me know!:floorlaugh:
.I am missing hubby a lot today.
((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))
It is that time of year, isn't it?
I just felt the urge o startmy new chapter by partcipating in The DailyO's again. ~Might as well jump right back in, huh???
Yes. Yes, yes, yes! :nod1:
And I request- scratch that- *require* --that you share as many pics of Peanut as you can ♥

Hugs, my dears!

Good morning all and welcome to the weekend! Although, it is pretty much the same as every other day. :lol23:

What's up for the day? Reading and scrapping and wasting time. But I get to do it all with Sydney so it sounds pretty wonderful to me!

I'm also looking at the Halloween siggie I still have up. I should make one to get ready for Winter (nooooo!!! :bawling: )
Well, take a look at my siggie...I'm still in summer time or Florida or something. Add this item to the to do list that won't get done today.

yay!! Fantastic GNO! What did you think of it?
I can't wait until BFF, our girls, and I go after Christmas. I decided that I am going to scrap tickets for Sam and Cait and will pay for the real ones as a Christmas gift.

I loved it...we both did. And every person that I know that has seen it loved it. I read a critic's review and they didn't think it was well done. I completely disagree. And that will be a great gift for Sam and Cait!

Its raining! Almost 40° and RAIN! WHY who said it was allowed to rain here? Now we have slop everywhere and the rain will freeze and grrrrrrrr really? Rain? Not amused.
We get that kind of weather sometimes and I hate it. The freeze, rain, thaw, freeze cycle is the absolute worst. And the dogs make a real mess then.

Going out for lunch at a Thai restaurant with some of the women from church; looking forward to a nice hot bowl of soup or something.
Did you get a nice warm bowl of soup? Sounds good! It's chilly here today. I talked to Brian this morning...he's back home in Iowa and I'm in Minneapolis with my daughter. I'll go home tomorrow. But he was complaining about the cold so I suggested that he make chili today. It really is getting to be that kind of weather.

OOOPS... just re-read the OS email and realized that the OScraps Black Friday Sale starts NEXT WEEK! But they do have a lot of wonderful things on sale this week!!! And I am behind on getting the challenges done this month (my own goal each month).
Thank goodness it's next week. Because I have a lot of work that needs to get done before then.

I'll be in and out and about here today! See you all then!

Good Morning Ladies.
Temps are more normal at 27° but all that rain first, yeah gonna be fun. At least is turned to snow at night and so it will be crunch which I hope adds traction. Not much happening today. Like Linda @LSlycord its gonna be the same as all the other days, read, scrap, do nothing :floorlaugh: I am starting to feel normal with aches and pains. I can almost walk at a normal pace and keep up with hubs. So Monday for sure Wednesday will be life back to full steam ahead. Oh wait, I dont have to cook at church this week. Thanksgiving. Oh yeah, pull turkey from freezer so it thaws. 24 lbs wont thaw quickly. UGH forgot. Oh well at least I will feel good enough to make the dinner. Off and running to do nothing. Have a wonderful day.

My kind of wonderful! Question: you mention cooking for church? Is that a fellowship activity or an outreach? I’m curious
On Wednesday night we have an AWANA program for the kids. Years and years ago they started making soup to feed the volunteers before the program started. Most people get off work at 5 and then the program starts at 6. Its hard to get kids there and fed. So as the years progressed and different people took on the volunteer job of cooking its gone from soup to soup and salad and then a few casseroles. We serve anywhere from 140-180 people each Wednesday. The kids and adults all fill up and then are able to focus on the job of ministering to the kids and the kids pay attention. This is my 8th year doing this and its such a blessing. I love to cook but am not so good with littles and their noise so its a perfect fit. The families love it as its one less thing to worry about between work, life, school, and getting to church on time. We serve from 5:30-6:00 and you would be amazed how fast you can get 150 people through and how much food is gone in ten minutes. We have a rule that seconds aren't available until 550 since some people come in the door at 550 as they got off work at 530. Some dinners I stand next to the table and make sure no one goes early for seconds. So far, we have come close but haven't run out. Only once did I not get dinner. I eat after everyone else.

Edit: 8th year in charge and I have several wonderful people who help me cook, make dessert and then another crew who does the dinner dishes and another who cleans our dining room.

That's quite a ministry. What a blessing.
