Happy weekend to all who celebrate!
Yup, just another day in the Faery Household and a chilly one at that. I think it is supposed to get warm-ish (50*F) this afternoon but not just at 8 am.

My insomnia is back full force and I felt terrible yesterday. At this moment, I am better than that so I am going to try to get stuff done this morning so if I crash later on, I won't be looking at more piles of stuff to get taken care of tomorrow.
My ILs stopped by in the afternoon and we had a nice chat with them on the patio. That was a nice change of pace.
Looking back on my day, I did get some stuff done. My contact lenses are lost in the mail and so I had to get in touch with my local post office and the company I ordered them from. I started to look at some Christmas shopping sites. That is one BIG thing I need to start doing ASAP. I do polls and surveys over the year and then cash in my points for GCs to help pay for Christmas. I should do that so I have them in time to shop and have everything delivered on time. I hate to even say this softly but Christmas is going to be here before we know it. :faint2:

One other thing I am going to need to do is mop the kitchen floor again. I woke up to a note on the counter from Caitlyn. She was making a mudslide and the top to the cocktail shaker came off and the mudslide ended up on the floor. And she was very sad.
I think that she was sad that the drink was gone, *not* that the floor was dirty LOL Possibly that the bottle of fake Kahlua is almost empty too. We blew through that bottle in no time. Yikes. The Pumpkin Spice White Russians were really good though- Bailey's, Kahlua, Vanilla Vodka, and Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer.

Ray is doing OK, she had a "good" day yesterday in that she didn't have any accidents and trotted a bit when it was time to come inside. I love watching her ears flop when she does that. We told the kids in the morning what was going on and thankfully, we are all on the same page about the next steps for her. There have been times in the past when one of our pets was nearing the end and one of us (*cough* Caitlyn *cough*) wanted us to do "more" but this time we all recognize that none of that would be fair to Ravyn. The first thing they both said was how scared and miserable she would be alone at the vet for days. Everyone has been snuggling with her.

So that is it from me. HAGD!!!

The computer genealogy group meeting starts soon and this month we're expanding what we're attempting to do. And with the new things, for the first time I'm the Zoom host, so a bit nerve-wracking. Otherwise hard to tell one day from another.
Hugs to all.

First off-- thank you all for your kind words and thoughts for my Ray. That means so much to me.

Trudy- I never thought I would be jealous of your time in the pool, but hoo boy! I really am. You must feel 100% rejuvenated when you are there. That hat is gorgeous, the yarn looks so soft and warm. I bet everyone will love getting them as gifts. :high5: for ordering one for yourself. I will be sure to give Ray some belly rubs from you.

Rae- your Christmas plans sound like they should be nice and happy. My SIL emailed that she wants to do a family Zoom Christmas Eve party- she wants to have a Gingerbread House contest and Bingo. We are still planning on driving down to do the drive-by visits and gift drop-offs. It is what it is and everyone will make the best of it as we can. I am so happy to hear that Noel is doing well with his Txs and every day you have with him is a blessing.

Cheryl- My kids are "worried" that I will be the one to be with Ray when she needs to be euthanized. I go through the exact same process. I make the appt, we all go in, I start to cry, say I changed my mind, pronounce that the pet is doing much better and that we need more time. Then I come home and say no more pets. Ever again! All of this is 100% predictable. We have lost too many pets in the last 2-3 years. Thx for the hugs!
Heheh about the tiles and spacers. Enjoy your family time this weekend!

Kay- a very smart choice not going inside the PO. I understand the good feeling about being out for a short drive. Cait came with me to pick up Ray's new meds- in her PJs, and no glasses or contacts and her mug of coffee, not a travel mug. I am surprised she bothered to put on shoes! She had to look at something other than her 4 walls and computer screen. :p
Good to see that you are feeling better and that you are busy scrapping again and that your BP is holding staedy!

xoxo

Morning, gals... Couldn't believe it.... I was sleeping so nicely when the phone rang at 11:40 PM!!! I didn't actually answer the phone as I don't answer if I don't know the number or who it is calling. But it was worrying me so I got up and looked up the area code. Some crazy idiot was calling from Hempstead, NY. Took me over an hour to fall back asleep then woke up at 6 AM. Guess I will be taking a nap later on today.

Yes, Chris, I understand how you feel and needing to crash later today. Sorry you had such a hard time trying to put plastic over Cait's window. Poor Cait to spill her drink... and sorry you need to mop the floor now.

Hey, Jean... great to see you popping in. You have been missed. Good luck on hosting the Zoom meeting. I am sure you will do fine.

DD is calling - gotta run.

Good morning, ladies. Caught up on Mandalorian last night. Today we'll catch up on Star Trek Discovery. Went to Costco as soon as they opened this morning which turned out to be a good idea b/c even though they were busy, everyone was wearing a mask and keeping distance. Got what we needed and went thru the self checkout so were in and out in under 30 min.

Got out into the garden to feed the birds when we got back. Now I'll relax in my kneeling chair for a bit and scrap and then will head up to have lunch and watch a few shows with D. I'll need to lay on my heated mat for an hour or so and then can carry on with my day until dinnertime.

We'll have to figure out what to binge watch tonight with Jen after dinner.

Chris - the drinks sound good. We used to make our own Bailey's yrs ago. Nowadays I stick to beer or wine so haven't had a sweet drink in a long time. Brings back memories.

I'm getting on with my day, hope you all have a good one. BFN

Good evening to all. Chris, I'm so sorry about Ray. One blessing for our furbabies is that we don't have to let them suffer, needlessly. I'm so glad she had a good day, bless her heart. I feel for you - it's SO hard! Chuck was particularly close to our big lab/shepherd mix, Baily. When we had to put him down (after changing our minds like you - twice), he decided to stay with him. It about killed him and he said he'd never do that again. Baily weighed 100 pounds and they let Chuck lay with him on the floor until he was gone. (I'm almost in tears even talking about it.)

Jean, it's good to see you!

Girlios, I hope all of you are having a good weekend (well, as good as can be expected *sniff* *sniff*

We've had a busy day with the family. We had 3 girls, plus our dd here all afternoon. They picked up our son-in-law's granddaughter, in Arkansas, when they landed (we fly into Arkansas. Shylee's 10 and such a sweetheart. What a little talker, though. LOL It was like having 2 extras girls here. They all took Daisy out and ran and played with her, so she had a ball!

Nothing new to report on the house. Still no flooring laid down.

Hugs to all.

GoooOd mOrning to you all! I hope that everyone had a good night's sleep and is all warm and cozy. If you have that, can ya send some my way? Been up since 4 am again and I am wearing layers upon layers and I am still cold. I have to move somewhere warm someday.

Even though I was really tired, I had a pretty decent day. I was able to chat with my friend for a few minutes, she was dropping off the hair clippers she had borrowed a while ago. Scott's hair was such a mess he decided to buzz it. It honestly doesn't look as odd as I thought it would. I was so proud of Caitlyn. My mom needed help ordering some things online and had called Caitlyn for help. Cait used all of her remote meeting skills to have my mom use Google Hangouts/share screens and it sounded like they had a blast talking to each other. Cait said that my mom was so happy when she saw Caitlyn's face pop up on her screen. My mom had to call Cait back later and talked to her for another hour. Makes my heart so happy how close they are. I don't think Caitlyn got any of her homework done because I was up in her room for quite a long time - she texted me that all of the rats were out of the cage and were having a blast exploring. I had to go up and play with them. The babies were being super friendly too. Livvie climbed into the Cheerio bucket and tipped out over on her head. She was covered in Cheerio dust! Poor Dilly was trying to climb up the side of the cage, the poor girl was struggling but she was determined to get where she wanted to go. Cait was keeping her hands underneath her in case she felt like she had a few minutes prior. LOL

I have to clean out my fridge today, I know there is way to much stuff that has gotten shoved to the back that needs to be tossed. Then I have to plan out some dinner ideas that we all can eat. Hmmph.
I also think I need to put a second pair of socks on. I bet you anything that my toes are blue. ;)

Hoping that you all have a wonderful time today doing whatever makes you the happiest!

Jean- how was your meeting? Did you get everything accomplished that you needed to do? Time... days.... it is all such a blur.

Kay- that phone call would have given me a heart attack! Sorry that it took so long to get back to sleep. Did you end up taking a nap?
*fingers crossed you slept better last night*

Rae- It sounds like your back is doing a little bit better, hope so.
What did you end up watching with Jen? We have been watching West Wing- never saw it when it was on TV. It is somewhat refreshing to see what a fictional and functional White House would look like Hahaha!! I have seen a bunch of recipes for homemade Kahlua but not Baileys- bet that was really good!

Cheryl- Would you be surprised if I told you I was in favor of assisted suicide for humans? Probably not! Obviously a well-regulated medically approved process but it is a blessing that our fur babies don't have to suffer.
It is never an easy time/choice and I understand where Chuck is coming from. When we had to put *my baby, my soulmate* down, Caitlyn couldn't bring herself to go in and sadly she regrets it. But I had thrown myself over her and couldn't stop sobbing so at least she didn't have to witness me losing it. And yup, still makes me tear up too. Baily must have been a good boy. (who am I kidding, they are ALL good!)
What a fun time you had with the family!!
How long is Shylee (seems like an ironic name for a chatterbox Bwuhahah!!!) staying with you? Have a wonderful time together.

Hugs to all of you!

Morning, gals. That [blankity-blank] idiot called again at almost midnight last night. Must be a robo-call that is set up for the wrong time of day. I looked up how to block the call this morning and hoping that will take care of it. Will find out tonight.

No, Chris, I didn't get a nap yesterday. I ended up spending the afternoon sorting through this past year's paper/receipts/bills/etc. I had been piling them after they were paid. So dug out a large file holder, made folders for them...(added more folders.. LOL) and sorted the papers. So nice to see the corner of the counter cleaned off and the folders neatly held in the file holder. Needed to get it sorted before tax time early next year. I really should clear out the file cabinet of old files and get it set up for next year's folders so I won't just pile them somewhere.

Glad Cait was able to help your mom order what she wanted. Yes, we are all getting used to Zoom or other Facetime apps that let us see others and interact together. My family has a standing date each weekend to visit and get caught up what is happening with the family members.

Cheryl, sorry they haven't started on the wood floor yet.

Rae, glad to hear the back is slowly improving. Slow but steady is the way to go.

I need to dig into the freezer and decide what I want to get out for my birthday dinner. Enchiladas sounds good and think I still have some sauce frozen.

Hope this is a good week for everyone.

Morning ladies... a chilly Sunday morning and DH and I have been spending the morning in front of the fireplace with our coffee. Not much happening today as we got our errands done yesterday. It will be a house cleaning :washing: day today. Oh and I will hopefully get a calendar page finished off today. Been having some internet issues the past few days so I guess we will be calling our provider to see if there is something we can do to improve it! I spent most of yesterday talking with our son as he tried to help us out re-connecting all of our streaming devices :mmph: I love that he can help us , but felt bad that we were keeping him for spending time with his family. I managed to get a few Christmas gifts purchased, so I feel pretty good about being a head of the game for the holidays! I am getting my sister to make a few more toques, our son's family will be snuggly warm with in theirs. Now I am wondering if I should have gotten ones made for Heather's boys??? My sister will kill me if I ask her to make three more LOL.

Chris - I am sorry you are feeling so very chilly!! Get another pair of socks on your poor blue feet! How great that Cait and your Mom have such a great relationship! Wish Heather did with her Grandmas!! She loved my Mom, but sadly she did not get to spend much time with her and Heather was pretty young when my Mom passed  Her other Grandma was great with Heather and Jason when they were little, but we lived so far away and they did not get a lot of time together either. When Heather got sick, things changed with Gary's Mom and Heather, it was like she did not know what to say to her anymore and they have drifted apart. It breaks my heart!!! Ok :tape: that's enough of that!! LOL. I hope Scott likes his new brush cut, I bet it looks good on him! Nice that you could talk with your friend for a bit too!

Kay - Oh man don't you hate that when you get a call really late at night or super early in the morning!!! You know darn well its some kind of scam or something grrr!! Hope you get that nap in today!

Rae - I really have to start watching the Mandalorian again, I keep forgetting that the new season is on Disney+. It is good that you got to Costco nice and early and got in and out so fast! We have to go again next weekend and I am not looking forward to it! Hope that your back is feeling much better these days! Nice that you can get out to feed the birds and take your great photos!

Cheryl - Still no flooring laid?? Sounds like you are having a great time with all the gals!! Enjoy your Sunday!

Well I suppose I should get busy with the :washing: and cleaning the bathrooms uggh!! Have a great day everyone! Stay safe!

Yesterday's meeting went well and was a good time. Technical wasn't totally smooth but we muddled through. We don't normally meet in December, but everyone seemed to like the idea of having the user groups and a little full group time next month, so we'll plan something for then too. When folks want more maybe we're doing something right. Getting together even virtually is so important these days.

Today is a usual football Sunday :pop2:, so back to days that all feel alike.

Chris, sad the cold gets to you so much. Keep bundling up and cozy up with the pups (especially R). Wish you'd sleep better too. Love how Cait is with her grandma but we know she is a super kid. Your other super kid must look pretty strange with the new hair (or lack thereof). Hope you made it through meal planning. You know how I feel about that.

Cheryl, your house building is such a fascinating journey to hear about. Can imagine how eager you are for it to be ready for you. I was interested to learn that it is Cherokee Land to which your family is connected by marriage. When I told my BiL in Tulsa where you'd moved he asked if you were Native American (as he could imagine no other reason to move there :biggrin1:.)

Trudy, I saw that stamped card that looks so gorgeous and the toque is really handsome. They'll be popular gifts, but let Heather have one to herself, eh? The October calendar page was a nice use of Photoshop to put the grands together.

Kay, is it your birthday? Felicitations!! :bday Hope you've got that late night phone call blocked. What a dumb time for a scammer to set it up. :phone:

Rae, glad it sounds like the back is getting better and you can enjoy the birds in the yard.

Hugs to all

Kay we cross posted... :HapBirth: I hope you have a lovely day and don't get bothered by the phone ringing late at night again!!

Kay, I couldn't find this emoji, so I'm copying Trudy's. I hope you've had an amazing day! I wished you a happy birthday in one of the other threads, but wanted to do it here, too.

Can you put your phone on "Do Not Disturb"? Do you have a landline or a cell phone? I have my cell phone set to "do not disturb" from midnight until I wake up in the morning (usually about 10 AM. That's SO annoying!!

Jeanne, that's so interesting that your BIL would ask you that. I had to chuckle about him saying there was no other reason to move here. We love knowing that we live on Cherokee Land! We live in the Cherokee Nation! My son-in-law's relatives actually walked The Trail of Tears and ended up here. The history is pretty amazing when you study it. I'm of Native American heritage myself and we're all so proud to be part of this history.

Trudy, no floor yet. The guys have been too busy sitting in the deer blind all day. My dd is not happy about that, but what do you do? Gun season started this weekend - it has been bow only up until now. I can't relate to sitting in a blind all day to shoot a defenseless deer, but it's in their DNA. They went out at 5 AM then again this evening. Everybody converged here later on this evening. I told them (again) that I did NOT want to eat venison. I eat very little beef, let along venison.

Chris, keep your feet warm, girl. Me? It's my hands. They're like blocks of ice - I just keep hoping my Florida thin blood gets thickened up. So far, it hasn't.

I MUST tell you that I'm so moved about your feelings about assisted suicide for humans. I started to type this in my last post, then deleted it. I have offended so many people with my strong feelings about this, so I took it off. Bless you for saying that. It's so sad that we make this available to our beloved animals, but not to our beloved loved ones, when their time comes. I've been an advocate of this for many years and feel so strongly about it. It's just not right that humans have to suffer needlessly. I have an aunt who's 100 and all she wants to do is die. She's in a nursing home (which she HATES) has no control over herself and is blind. It just breaks my heart that she has to keep on living like this. So, no, it wouldn't surprise me at all that you are in favor of this as well. HUGS to you, my sweetheart.

Love and hugs to all.
