Guess what?? I survived yesterday's online shopping *and* only lost my patience once. Bam! :D Part of the reason for losing patience was that my brother and my father got involved a tiny bit. My dad asked me to order my mom a new FitBit. We had picked it out, it was already at his house. According to my mom, he told her to order once today. But he texted me in the morning that she was going to ask about it. Since I already ordered it, I know I couldn't; order another so I was going to have to lite to her or give the surprise away. I was able to look at a few different options (talked her out of the one we didn't buy LOL) and suggested that I talk to my dad later.
My brother asked for a specific pair of sneakers but either my mom wrote down the wrong size or he wasn't clear on it. I had to call him to ask and that went over well /s Then he was on a tangent of how she is so disorganized and she is asking me if he needs a shirt and he is saying that he doesn't need shirts and that she knows it but she says she could get a shirt free with purchase and on and on and on. o_O
IMHO- anyone would have lost their patience after that.

:)

Not much else got done so hopefully I can catch up a bit today. Cait and I are going to the Pantry and then I have to pick up the photos I ordered from Walgreens. I was able to pay online and use my rewards points so the gift was less than $10!

I have to let J outside, be back for personals soon!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr. It is cold out there!

@BrightEyes Look at those photos, they are beautiful. You are pretty brave to be out there in your PJs when it was that cold. The other tree- wow, that is really neat. I am going to have to show that to Scott. Makes me wonder if it is a hybrid and its gene expression is causing the difference. Or maybe some sort of damage to the root system so one side is drier than the other? Not that I have any clue. ;)
I loved that LO of your GGD#2, the page was adorable and so is she.
*nods* you are spot on as you channel Momma Chris- don't push yourself. I know that you love to cook and that if you are in pain the joy will be gone

@bcgal00 How fun to have all of the dogs running around together. Is your yard drying out yet?
Oh no. Those people who are going to lose their houses for the wall are not going to be happy but if it helps keep the water out as the oceans rise... it has to be done. I know that some of the wealthier NJ Shore towns were upset that they were having sand dunes built up after Sandy. Sure you might not see the ocean itself from your house, but hopefully, you also won't be seeing the ocean in the street.
Good luck getting the food that you need and that it doesn't take long to get the shipments running again
What is a lick mat -- other than a mat the dogs lick, that is LOL Is it something I can find on chewy?

@taxed4ever CONGRATS!! And you thought you weren't going to sell the art. hehe. So happy for you! How often do they do the Teeny Art Show?
What neat stuff did you find at the Craft Show?

@Cherylndesigns The moon photo is jaw-dropping! I should ask my niece if she got any good ones, she has a telescope that she can take pictures with her iPhone and showed me some of the planets that she took over the summer. Your property must be perfect for a telescope setup. Scott has one but it's hard to see the sky since we are surrounded by trees.
Woooot!! Good job getting your shopping done!

@felis so sorry that your shopping is going so poorly. I hate the psychology of Black Friday sales. Everything feels so pressured- buy now!!
That stinks about the shopping on the book, the ebook is a smart choice. I am trying to figure out if I should ask for the book I want as an audiobook or an ebook. I prefer the audiobook but it looks like you have to use Audible.com to get it and I don't want to subscribe to anything. I have to do more research.

Have a fun and relaxing weekend!

Another 'sleep in morning'... didn't wake up until 8AM again and I fell asleep before 9:30PM! The body has its own way of getting the rest is needs. o_O :D Checked on the turkey and it is still over half frozen - so put it in the sink. Will check on it through out the day until it is thawed more. Will wait to start the cornbread and pumpkin pie until then.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr. It is cold out there!

@faerywings - I wouldn't have been out taking photos at 4AM if the wind had been blowing. I loved seeing the moon through the tree branches so had to take the photos. BTW, the tree in the backyard with the moon is the same split-season tree with the leaves are all gone. This is the first year (and the tree has been there for the past 9 years) that it did that. Even my plum tree had a quarter of the lower branches still green while the rest had turned yellow and most had fallen off. Most of the leaves are fallen now. Must be related to this crazy warmer than normal temps we have been having.
My GGD#2 has always had a personality... and it can change on a dime! The LO shows a couple of them. She could have me in stitches over them.
Yes, I can hear your Momma Chris voice in my head when I start to doing things I shouldn't.... LOL....

@taxed4ever Congrats on selling the tiny art piece!! How exciting. Glad you and Gary were able to get some of the yardwork done. Love that FB photo of the lake and mountains with the drifting fog... so quiet and serene. Would love to be bundled up warm and enjoying a hot cup of coffee sitting on the balcony looking at that view.

@Cherylndesigns Loved your LO of you and hubby... great use of one of the photos from the photo shoot. Glad you were able to get the shopping finished.

The coffee cup is empty and I need to get dressed. It is so easy to jump on the computer first thing... then the next thing I know it is mid-afternoon and I am still in the PJs... LOL.... CYL

I've really been MIA this week. It's been a really hellish week. Urban went to the pharmacy on Monday to get me new medicine. Turned out that the dr who had written the prescription for my adhd meds, wasn't allowed to prescribe it. (There is special rules for these meds, since they can be used as drugs.) So, I thought I had a prescription & had taken my last pill that morning & now all of a sudden I had no meds. It was too late to call them to get a new prescription on the Monday, got up EARLY on Tuesday to call, had to explain really hard (stupid nurse), and then she told me she would leave a message to the dr. Took until Friday noonish, until I got my prescription, so today FINALLY! my brain got it's Ritalina! I was at work on Thursday & it was not fun to work without a working brain!

It's hard to explain how it is without meds, but it's kinda like thoughts move through jelly & that the entire soul is itching. Restless and unmotivated at the same time. It's horrible! All I've done this week is watching cricket shows & crocheted.

Good morning ladies. Enjoyed my coffee, a cinnamon bun and book this morning, then headed out for an hour, walking around the neighborhood with my camera, taking shots of the greenery, trees and river. It'll be nice to include some pull back shots of the landscape to include in some of my bird LOs. It was very relaxing. I figured I'd get out before the rain starts up today. Tomorrow morning I'm going for a walk through the park, in an area I never go to. It'll be relaxing and I might see some birds to photograph. I always go to the other side of the park so this time I'll switch things up and see what is there.

Jen is coming over to pick up D, they will go out car shopping for her. I am expecting D to come home with some suggestions on what I should buy. I keep telling him I want to hold off having a car payment as long as I can, especially since he is retiring next month and our finances will drop signficantly but I know he is so anxious to get a new car.

For any that didn't see my photo on FB yesterday, I finally got some owl photographs. I have wanted some good owl shots for a long time and had given up that I'd ever see one in decent light to photograph and not tucked way up inside a tree where it is too dark to see much of it (as happened at Reifel Park a few yrs ago). I can't wait to scrap some of the photos. He was still around this morning somewhere close b/c I heard him hoot a few times.

Today I will scrap some CT stuff, putter around the house and play with the dogs. I think Jen will probably leave Bella here while they go out so I'll have 3 dogs running around. Bella loves to spend the day here.

@faerywings Glad the online shopping went ok. I had to smile about your brother's complaining about your mom. I can totally relate to her. I forget so many things and other things are clearly imprinted on my brain but D can't seem to grasp that I have a crappy memory (as does he but he won't admit it LOL). The people aren't going to lose their homes, they figured out how to repair without further loss to the home owners. Looks like at least a week or two before things might start getting back to normal and that is if the rains don't cause further damage as we have more coming this wk. We went onto gas rations for the rest of the month so the pumps have huge lineups. Grocery shopping is crazy and like Trudy said, fruits and veggies are available (so I'm happy) but meat, toilet paper and bread shelves are empty. The lick mat is a rubbery mat with ridges to hold the food smeared over it (peanut butter, yogurt, etc) and the other side is lots of suction cups to adhere to a surface. I got mine on amazon.

@Cherylndesigns Wow, what a great moon shot. I was hoping to get out and take photos here but it was raining and lots of cloud coverage so couldn't see it.

@tanteva Sorry to hear of the hassle with your meds.

I'd better get more coffee, start a scrap page before Bella comes b/c I know I'll be busy with the dogs for awhile and then can finish up later. Have a good day everyone.

Hi all. I knew that moon shot would blow you all away!! He stayed up until 4:30 in the morning to record that! It was a school night, too. That kid has determination! He's getting so talented and like I said, he took this one with my DSLR. I couldn't believe the great shots he got, previously, on his iPhone, though. He said "Cici, look at the pictures I got of the moon." I had no idea he had a new mega telescope and I said "you did not" He said "I did too". LOL This went back and forth for a few times because I have a new iPhone and I got some really good shots, but I KNEW he couldn't get those on his iPhone. Then he confessed. he's so into the universe and I can't wait to look through his telescope. Yes, Chris, @faerywings out property is SO out in the open that we get a spectacular view of the night sky on any given night. 50 acres is a lot of land. There are some wooded areas, but all of our homes are build in clearings. We have a fantastic view of the foothills of the Ozarks, too. Chuck teases everybody that WE have the best view. We can all see different things, too. Ava's up on a hill and faces a different direction so she can see one end of Lake Tenkiller.

I've done a whole lot of nothing (constructive) today. I spend a long time finding my great big, long scarf that I just bought last winter. I was SO afraid that it was gone. It's a shawl-scarf and wraps around my neck 3 times. Chuck finally found it. Hahahaha Now, if I could only find all of my leather gloves. Chris @faerywings did you find yours? I was hopeful that they'd be hiding in my winter coat pockets, but no. I only have 1 pair now - down from 3.

I'm going to get off here - I started this a LONG time ago and finally finished it. Waving to all.

Chris, so Toni give me advice to take her book from Kobo. I wasn't hear before for this site, but now I'm in love.
I think many Americans don't realize that most of the sites for ebooks are restricted to USA and Canada only, I guess to protect the copy right, but then the EU sites for ebook for revenge don't have american titles which aren't by mainstream or prize winners authors. I wasn't able to buy Chevy Stevens (for example) from anywhere! Thank goodness that Toni is so smart! I got her book but have few other crochet books and Chevy Stevens :) in my list, and Kobo will have special prices for some books during the whole next week. I can wait to start the hunt!

I have not buy audiobook, but they have many titles and my recommendation is to check for the one you want there too! They have their free application that allows you to download on PC or phone, and option to transfer to different brands ereaders.

Hey all!

Like Eva, I've been MIA this week, and it was a hellish week for me too. I'm glad the full moon has past, and hoping that means the craziness will have passed as well. Today we set up our Christmas stuff - well, half of it. I do 2 trees, and we got the main floor all done including the tree, and will do the other tree tomorrow. We had a good time doing something that seemed kinda normal (like before covid normal) today, which was cool - we went to the Legion for drinks with friends! It's been a very, very long time since we've done that and it was really fun!

@BrightEyes Very jealous that you're having turkey lol It's one of my favourite meals!

Happy Sunday, my dears!
I am back to my "awake by 4.30 am routine" again. I can't stop yawning. The middle of the night BS isn't as bad but the early morning wake-ups are not much fun.

I did a lot of stuff yesterday and at the same time, I think it was not much at all. Nothing actually accomplished. Hate that feeling. I was busy for the entire day, FP, went with Cait to her friend's house where she is pet sitting, got to pet the dogs. Pup (he is a pit mix like mine, he has such a blocky head) makes Jaida seem like she is 100% zen. hahaha!. I also made the base oil for the muscle rub, which is infused with arnica flowers and menthol crystals. Today I can add the essential oils and bottle that up. Toss in regular household stuff like laundry and dinner and I practically collapsed by the end of the day.
We ordered the Christmas tree and it should be here by the weekend. Hopefully, it will look decent, it was only a little more expensive than what a real tree would cost so if we use it for a few years, it has paid for itself.

I have no idea what direction I am going in today. Whatever I do I hope it goes smoothly lol

TYYS!!!

@BrightEyes Good to hear that *your* body is able to get the rest it needs Hahahaha!! :D Sure wish mine could figure it out. Is today your birthday or is it tomorrow? Either way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope you enjoy your meal and the love that your family is sending.
The trees must be so mixed up with the weird weather. About 10 years ago, we visited a wolf sanctuary and I asked if the wolves had trouble with the weather changes. They said yes, that their fur would go through many rapid changes and they would lose their winter coats too soon. I am sad that it is only going to get worse for nature, trying to keep up with the oddity of it all.
I hope that when you channel Momma Chris you also hear my mutterings of how I am completely a hypocrite too Bwahaha. I know I am and fully admit and accept it.

@tanteva what a nightmare with the prescription. When I had a lot of Lyme Brain problems, it would sometimes feel like that. Very, very uncomfortable. I hope that the meds work quickly and that you feel more like yourself.

@bcgal00 I am excited to see your photos, you always take the most incredible pictures. Jen must be so excited to get a new car! What kind is she looking at? And what kind did D come home wanting?
The photo of the owl was amazing, such a beauty!
That is a relief that the repair work for the flooding isn't going to cause people to lose their homes. It has to be weird with the different shortages. I hope that you are able to get everything that you need. Thx for the info on the lick mats. I know W would be thrilled with that, but J won't eat/take treats when she is anxious. (Please give me strength when I take her to the vet tomorrow for vaccines)

@Cherylndesigns I am in awe of your property, the night sky must be inspiring. When we moved here, we were kinda surprised to see so many stars. Where Gary and I grew up there is so much light pollution it doesn't look the same. Your sky has to be so much darker and intense. Bradon must have his eye glued to the telescope some nights. :)
I brought some of the gloves and hats down from the attic. But when I pulled a pair out of the pockets of my coat yesterday, Cait told me they were hers. They were in there from last year, no idea why I had them LOL

@felis thanks for the info on kobo, glad you got Toni's book there! Happy shopping this week.

@tjscraps Did everyone have a wonky week last week? Hope the week coming up is much better and calmer.
Your house must look very festive. Going out for drinks sounds wonderful, has to feel good to do something normal

Love and hugs!

Guess my mouth is craving the turkey dinner as I woke up at 6 AM without an alarm! LOL Got the turkey in the oven at 7 AM... Should be done before 11 and the dressing will go in for an hour. Oh, the kitchen smelled so wonderful when I got up... the sage in the dry dressing ingredients filled the air. Didn't realize how much I missed that. I baked a pumpkin pie yesterday and had enough filling left over to fill a small ramekin. I had that for dessert last night... Yummy!

Binge-watched a couple of DVDs last evening - both with Sandra Bullock: "The Lake House" and "Miss Congeniality 2". It was a good way to spend the evening. Was going to watch "In Love and War" but the DVD was messed up and kept skipping/freezing. I may try using the CD cleaner/pad on it to see if that clears it up.

@faerywings My birthday is tomorrow - Monday. Thanks for the wishes. When I mentioned hearing Momma Chris' voice... I wasn't going to say what she was muttering about herself... ROFLOL... Have to admit that I do that at times. Do I dare admit that the knee was feeling so much better that I did over-do a bit standing on it longer than I should yesterday??? [shaking my hanging head... as I knew better] Glad that I won't have to cook on Monday... just laze the day away and nuke leftovers for dinner and then have the family chat that evening.

@bcgal00 I saw the photo of the owl... WOW... it was fabulous - so clear and sharp. Don't blame you for being so happy to finally get a few photos like that. So glad you have an area to walk in where you see so many different birds. Your nature photos are wonderful. Did your DH or DD find cars they just can't live without???

@tanteva so sorry you ran out of meds and were out for so long waiting to get a new Rx from the doctor.
Hope your mind is feeling better now.

@tjscraps Wow, you must have a big house to set up 2 Christmas trees! Glad to had a "kinda normal" evening out with friends. Wish you and the other O's were here to share my turkey dinner.

And speaking of which... I can smell the turkey roasting and it is making me hungry so better go get some breakfast. Now, do I want strudel or waffles??? Have both in the freezer. :p

@BrightEyes I've always done 2 trees, even when we had our 2 bedroom, 800 square foot house lol! Over the summer we moved from a Bilevel to a 2-Storey with a bonus room, the bonus room is where I hang out most of the time, so I want it to seem Christmas-y too :) I go all-out for Christmas decorations, until like the 26th, then I'm done and want them cleaned up lol

Good afternoon ladies. I was out this morning for a photo walk. Darrell is out with Jen looking at more vehicles. She has a couple she is interested in. D found one for me but not sure so we'll think about it. I'll share more tomorrow. Gotta get in the shower and then take the dogs to the park.

I am hobbling and shuffling and groaning while making my way in here .... not over cooking the dinner (even though the turkey took almost 2 hour longer than the package said it should) but over the packaging everything into serving sizes and getting them into the freezer along with the turkey carcass [except for tomorrow's dinner - it went in the fridge first thing]. Just finished loading the freezer stuff ..... took one look at the stack of dirty stuff and said that can wait until the back and the hips and the feet feel better. Note: I am a wash as I cook - and did that (3 sink-fulls done before eating) but still have a counter full of stuff to wash. I miss having S-inlaw#3 here as he would be washing stuff while I did the cooking and putting stuff away. Really enjoyed the dinner... it was well worth the effort. But I am so glad I did it today so tomorrow can be stress-free and minimal work and cleanup. I didn't have pumpkin pie as I was too full - even though I didn't take big helpings of anything. Think I will wait and have it tomorrow. ;) I did take a few photos of today but don't have the energy to load, resize and post them.

Heading for the recliner with the massaging unit, a good book and a big glass of iced tea. CYL

Hello ladies!
I had lovely boring weekend with deep cleaning of our and cat houses yesterday and well deserved lazy day off for finishing my book today. The feeling for upcoming holidays is very strong and I wish to have snow so to looks completed!

Chris, I don't know why you are so stubborn, I promise to have the pleasure to say to you: ''I told you!'' when in Christmas 2025 you tells us how much you love the old fake Christmas tree and all memories that it holds. I have mine from child and I'm so hook up to it, even she isn't in best shape anymore! It's way more sentimental than dancing around dying tree. And don't try to play the card about the meaning of the ancient traditions, because I don't see you to sing to the neighbors, or ride a horse open slay. ;):D
Sorry for my mistake at first, but hope that you will be able to find your audiobook at the second link!

Kay, all about the diner tomorrow sounds great! Uhh, yes, it's a pits when cooking and cleaning are all for you, sorry about that!

Eva, happy birthday to your son and wish him wonderful year!

Trina, excuse me I wasn't understand that you lives in Canada! Hope that decorating will be able to distract you from your worries for a while! I love your tradition for 2 trees! Did your gi8rls still believe in Santa Clause?

Rae, good luck in finding new vehicles!

Cheryl, I hope that the house gremlins are gave back your leather gloves! :p
