Ready??

Five weeks.

Oh my goodness. How did that happen?? And no wonder why my mom keeps bugging me for Christmas lists for me and the kids. I guess I was so focused on Thanksgiving, I forgot all about Christmas! LOL
Five weeks is plenty of time.

I had another productive day yesterday and I am so happy I have been cleaning like a madwoman. It makes me feel delighted. Bonus points for not falling off the kitchen counters while I was cleaning, GooooOoooOOO me!! woot woot! I had everything off the kitchen island, and my kitchen seemed much more open and bigger. I wish I could keep it that way but it's already filling up with everyone's papers and s***.
Gary has this ability to leave his stuff on every flat surface and then it multiplies.

I am in a bit of a scrap rut, the last few pages I've done-- I am struggling with. I spent hours on a LO for the Big Photo Challenge yesterday and it just won't come together. I closed out of it and will look at it with fresh eyes today. I have a fun day ahead. Cait and are off to the FP this morning. It's gonna be cold out there! it snowed overnight and it's only 27* ATM. I don't blame her if she bails on me. This afternoon we have an appt at a bridal shop in town to look at some more dresses. Very exciting!!

xoxoxo!!!

@BrightEyes It always takes you so long to readjust to the time changes. Did you struggle with jet lag when you used to travel often too?
That missing envelope story gave me a heart attack too! I might be getting ready for Christmas subconsciously because it gave me an It's a Wonderful Life vibe.
Just a few more days until your sister gets there. :)

@LSlycord and just a few more days until Syd and Jianna get home too. Smart girl to wait and bring her laundry home. She seems like she has totally settled into college socially. That's fantastic.
have a great time with the cooking classes this weekend! ♥

@vickyday Haha!! sorry for wearing you out with my days. I have two modes: Lazy Slug or Whirlwind. I am currently in Whirlwind but Slug is not too far off.
When you crochet in rounds, do you slip-stitch the ends of the rows? I typically follow whatever the pattern says but when I don't, I lose stitches and my rows get totally wonky. But if I slip-stitch the rows, I get that bumpy "seam." There has to be some trick to it/ Do you know it?? #predict
BTW- I got such a kick out of your Kitchen Fairy LO, nice to see that Mark was the Kitchen Fairy for you after you made the turkey dinner.

@bcgal00 You have been really busy too, it sounds like your energy level is back to normal? Thank goodness for Remi's sake if nothing else :D Thanks for understanding that I wasn't meaning to come off as uncaring. ♥

@Cherylndesigns Hahaha! Asher makes me laugh! What a good kid.
Hmmm, did Steph overdo it the last couple of days? Hmm, where does she get that from? I wonder! Hehehe
Glad that she listened to you and napped, I hope that she felt better after it too.
Amazon has spoiled us for all regular mail. That really stinks that your shoes are missing. Think they will turn up?

It's getting closer to the end of the month so maybe @taxed4ever will be popping in to say hi soon??? Miss you T!!

Good morning ladies. Almost caught up on TWD and will finish off the last episode later today and be ready for the 90 min finale tomorrow night, after Jen gets home from work. I ran errands yesterday and finally found a lamp for the bedroom that I like. It is industrial style with no shade, a decorative golden bulb and I like that it has a bit of a tray on the base so I can toss my hair clip in it. The golden glow is just enough to light the upper foyer and top of the stairway so I can turn that on at night time and see my way up and down the stairs without having to turn on one of the main lights.

Got the ingredients for meatloaf so I'll make that up today. Now I'm craving greek salad so need to go back to the store for cucumber and feta cheese.

Remi is talking to me, telling me to go feed the birds. I'll be back...

Stitches in the round is, basically, one continuous row. The important thing is to mark the first stitch of every row of the pattern. That way you will know if you messed up in the row if you end up with too few or too many stitches at the end of the pattern row. Does that make sense? Better to rip out that row and start it over than to have to start completely over because you don't know where you messed up. Hope that helps. Use a stitch marker in the first stitch of the pattern row!

Ha! Yeah, we are always joking about the kitchen fairies coming and going at odd hours.

Your problem with keeping flat surfaces clean is the same problem I have, only it isn't just Mark messing them up! ;)

I have a new meatloaf recipe to try. It calls for ground turkey and salsa! I'm not fond of meatloaf because it usually gives me heartburn, but I'm willing to try a new recipe! Mark loves meatloaf!

Good morning ladies,
Just a quick in and out as I'm fighting a headache today.
No plans other than getting rid of the headache is the only goal. Just so happens my gratitude page for today is on health, lol!

OK, I'm back. Remi herded me out to the garage for the bird food and then out to fill up the feeders. Then a few minutes of kicking snowballs around. Then back inside to feed the dogs and give them their probiotic chew. Whew...now I can sit for a few minutes and enjoy my coffee before Remi bugs me to come lay on the floor for stretches (play time). She needs a good long playtime at the park today. I think we'll go to the dog park close to the river and we'll go for a walk along the trail there after playtime. Then back home to get the meatloaf in the oven.

I want to read some of my book so hopefully I'll finish it before the lending time is up in a few days (The Perfect Couple).

@faerywings Don't worry about your scrap rut, it'll pass.

Remi is bugging Taz to play and he wants to rest, so I'm going to take her upstairs, have a shower and get on with things. HAGD everyone.

Hi all - quick in and out today. I'm waiting on Steph's friend to take me to Publix. We need everything and she offered, and the traffic is horrible here and it's Saturday so I took her up on it. LOL I'll try to get back in later on. Steph's a little bit better today. Seems a little stronger. Yes, Chris @faerywings I do not know where she gets that from. BWAHAHa Asner will be here tomorrow so we need food.

XOXO

So I’m in late this evening. Shaun and I left the house for the cooking class at 8:30. I was an hour early. It was such a great day! Shaun just kept laughing at me…and telling me how he could have stayed in bed an hour longer. The chef that taught the class was absolutely delightful. We made squash wontons, spring rolls, fried rice with a Chinese sausage and persimmon foster. Everything was so good. And we had told Chef Dennis that fried rice is one of Sy’s favorite things to make. So he insisted that Shaun cook his own fried rice and that we video it so Syd could see it.

Then I came home and took a two hour nap! Tomorrow I will drive to Gainesville and Syd and I will take a pie baking class. And then cooking week begins.

Good morning. I'm up and ready for a big day. Had such a good day yesterday and am so looking forward to this week. But boy is there a lot to get done. Not the least of which is to catch up with the personals here. It's cold and rainy here this morning...49* with a high of 56* But we have highs in the upper 60's and low 70's the rest of the week so I won't complain.

@faerywings I've lost my scrapping mojo as well. Don't know what that's about...I still have a goal to get all of the challenges done this month but I am going to have to kick it into gear to get that to happen. Glad that you have had such productive days...that is such a good feeling.

@vickyday I realized that Christmas was coming so I didn't freak out when @faerywings said it was only 5 weeks but boy did the 6 weeks to New Years cause me to freak out. I simply cannot believe that we will be in 2023! Hope that the headache didn't last.

@bcgal00 my dogs insist that I get out of bed in the morning when they want to get out of bed. Not when I want to get out of bed. Hope you made it to the dog park for Remi.

@Cherylndesigns hope you got everything that you needed at the Publix so that Asher doesn't starve. LOL I have a feeling that his Cici isn't going to let that happen.

I got next to nothing done yesterday but I don't care!! It was a good day!! I went by myself to the FP, Caitlyn needed time to get ready for the dress appt in the afternoon. Just as well that she didn't go, it was freezing and crowded and chaotic. But not a big deal about the FP -- We went to the local dress shop and she thinks she found The Dress!!! We were there for 4 hours. The owner is a local mom. I knew her back in the PTA/class mom days, and we really had a fun time. She had twice as many dresses - probably even more than that- as the shop we went to with my mom. I have no idea how many dresses she tried on but kept coming back to this one.
I am not allowed to share pics of it but I can show a few of the not-chosen. Does anyone want to see??
This was a runner-up.

Neither of them made the final cut. She tried a few veils and jewelry too. Cait was funny, she wanted Gary to see it since we live right around the corner. She also Facetimed Scott to get his reaction. The shop owner was super sweet and said for her to take her time, go home, and think about it. We are going to go back with my mom and try on some more veils and if she still feels the same, it's gonna be Yes to the dress !♥
I keep looking at the pics of her and it's just beautiful! And she is just beautiful. I wish I could show you but she would have my head.

My big project for today is to get all of the food/menu sorted and scheduled for prep for Thursday. If all goes as planned, the 4 of us are going to PA from Friday night to Saturday night. It will be the first time the 4 of us will be up there together since 2010. So not only do I have to get Thanksgiving prepped, I have to think about what food I am going to bring up there since usually my mom is there and does al of the cooking. uh-oh!

xoxo

@vickyday I try to do that-- mark the first stitch in the row- but then I lose count (my mind wanders a *lot*) - which is my problem b/c then I end up ripping out more and more rows LOL
Hope your headache is gone by now

Good Morning to all!
Just a few words as I need to get ready for church.
Mark is sick this morning. He has been stuffy all week. Sounded and seemed to feel so much better yesterday. Worked on the cabin all day and helped his daughter move some stuff. Last night when he slowed down he was really feeling icky. I could tell he was not sleeping well last night as he was snoring like a freight train! So neither of us slept great. He is going to stay home from church today and take one of the COVID tests the pharmacy gave us. I pray he doesn't have COVID as we are supposed to travel to my daughter's house 6 hours away for Thanksgiving and the weekend!
I will probably stop at the grocery store on the way home after church. I need some more frozen veggies and have a few other things I need after cooking this weekend.
Mark's doberman got sprayed with a skunk while he was down in the woods last night! He made her walk back to the house and would not allow her in his vehicle! She sleeps in the basement and the smell was wafting up the steps last night! I don't smell it this morning, thank goodness! I had to wash Mark's clothes, coat and hat he had on yesterday, too!
I started another bucket hat. This one is for Ilene. I will finish it today.
OK. Gotta run or I will be late for church.
Have a great day!

Morning, all. Slept in this morning... so feeling much better. Not a happy camper as my main computer won't access the printer/scanner. It stopped working after the latest up-date to that computer. The other computers can access it via WIFI so not sure what is going on. Have deleted it from the main computer and tried reinstalling the driver but still get the same error message. I turned off the firewalls while attempting the reinstalled but that wasn't the problem. Don't want to be without the main computer for 7-10 days it takes to have the GSquad look at it.

Beautiful dresses, @faerywings. Bet the one she really loves is a stunner!

Sorry you had such a bad headache @vickyday. Hope your DH doesn't have Covid. Hope he gets to feeling better soon

Good morning ladies. I slept in...til 7:30. Remi had her face pressed up against my cheek so as soon as my eyes opened she had a tongue slurping my eyeball for a morning kiss. She often sleeps wrapped around the top of my head, she has a body pillow along the top of the bed to stretch out on and I am on a pillow just below it.

Today I will scrap, go to the dog park and get the meatloaf into the oven for tonight. I got home too late last night to cook the meatloaf. I went into town to return a string of outdoor lights that wouldn't work and then stopped into Winners and went down the rabbit hole there LOL. I spent about 1.5 hrs wandering, picking out things, then putting some back, picking up others and kept going back and forth until finally I decided to pay and get out of there. I got a few more Xmas gifts, some Xmas decor and a few more Xmas mugs. I found a giant bottle of sugar free gingerbread syrup for my coffee and also some SF marshmallow syrup that'll be good for hot chocolate. I ordered keto hot chocolate powder which should be coming this week.

Today D will look at Jen's stove. The temp control isn't working. We might be out this wk looking for a new stove for her. Didn't see any sales online but maybe later in the week. We'll need to find something this wk though, she can't go too long without a stove. We'll get the other set of lights up on the back porch today too. D got a smart plug and set up a timer for the lights so they'll come on every night for 6 hrs.

Tonight before dinner I will watch TWD pre-show and then after dinner when Jen gets home from work we'll watch the 90 min finale together and then I'll watch the after show myself later in the evening.

@faerywings Can't wait to see what C picked out b/c the other two are stunning.

@LSlycord Loved seeing the photos on FB, the food looked so yummy. Have fun with the class with your daughter.

Good afternoon, all. Greetings from a chilly SWFL! It's only 64 right now. Brrrrrrrrrr. I walked down to the trash bin and my Uggs and hoodie sure felt good. I even put my hood up - that wind is cold and now it's raining. I still got a good walk in, but unless the rain stops, that will be it for the day.

Got through Publix ok - my cart was piled high I could hardly push it by the time I was done. I got lots of goodies for Asher - I know what he likes and also lots of food for us to have on hand here. We've used Uber Eats twice and that's it - costs too much. It was what Steph wanted when she first got home, but it's pricey. I DO miss having Uber Eats and Door Dash available, I have to be honest. It's just a nice alternative.

Chris @faerywings I agree with Vicky - if those dresses are the funners up, I can't even imagine what THE dress is like! Cait looks so gorgeous in them and I'm sure your heart is all over the place seeing your little girl in her future wedding dress. Thanks for showing us the runners up.

Good luck with your dinner and travel plans - sounds like fun going to PA.

Linda @LSlycord your pictures on FB looked amazing - I can tell your class was loads of fun - how awesome that you're doing that. I have to tell you that I miss Publix SO much!!! I think that's about the greatest grocery chain ever. Yes, you know I got plenty of goodies for my boy. LOL

Rae @bcgal00 I love seeing the dogs' pictures on FB. What a way to e waked up. Hah

Kay @BrightEyes so glad you slept a little better. Not so good to hear you're having a problem with your printer - I've come to the conclusion that printers just don't like me. I've about given up on having one. Chuck has one if I get desperate.

Vicky @vickyday glad Mark doesn't have Covid.

Talk to you all later.
