Happy weekend!

I am late getting in here today, well- later than I usually am. I did not/could not get out of bed this morning. Tired and achy, for sure. But eventually, I did. The dogs needed to go out and the coffee pot was full of its goodness, waiting for me to pour myself a cup.

How was everyone's day?
I was pleasantly surprised by the weather. It stayed in the mid to upper 40s but it wasn't windy. No one complained about being too cold until the very end. The day and plan itself-- meh. I felt 100% off my game. The kids were not into it, they basically wanted to run around and not pay attention. I couldn't make up my mind on where I wanted to go on the trails. The basic vibe was *off* the entire session.
I'd better get over that ASAP -- I need to be back on my game tomorrow. I am really stressing about it all. It will be fine. I know I am overthinking it. (Who me??? :hahano:)
:exitroom:

So plans today-- start my groceries, pay some more bills, and maybe some scrapping.
What is on your list today? I hope whatever it is, you have a wonderful time!

No, won't read them all in one day... but I have just about finished reading "To Kill A Mockingbird"!... what a great book.
OK, maybe not all 4 in one day but by the end of the weekend, perhaps? :D
I read Mockingbird in HS but listened to the audiobook a year or so ago. Sissy Spacek narrated and she is phenomenal. It gave me a jolt with some of the language and I had to remind myself when it was written.
What did you end up doing yesterday, AKA how many LOs did you scrap? hehehe

I went on a meandering bike ride this morning just checking out some stuff.
What a wonderful day and yeah, I would count that as a full day of exercise. Good for you and the park management getting rid of the Bradford pears. It is always heartening to see native plant remediation happening ♥
Oh my goodness, I know how terrifying it is to witness severe low blood sugar like that. Before Gary went on a pump (1997), he would pass out often. One time when we were first dating, he was driving to my house and never showed up. I thought he was standing me up. Turned out he had low blood sugar and was passed out in his car, nowhere near where I lived.
When his Lyme was super out of control, it affected his blood sugar too. He had a PICC line for IV abx but we also had Dex5 bags when he couldn't get his sugar regulated. One time he had passed out, and I turned off his pump and hooked up the Dex5 to his line. He still wasn't coming out of it so I had to call the EMTs. They were laughing because it was the first call they ever got where the patient already had his own glucose bag.
That rebound effect makes Gary miserable. I hope that David didn't feel too crummy after his sugar skyrocketed.
As for the "safe" amount of time to have low sugar, I wish I had an answer to that.
Good Morning My Lovely O Fam!
Sounds like Kay is having a wonderful day with remembering the book. That's always a good day. I have stories in my head that at times I can never remember the title. Not much happening here. Got some scrapping done and today look to be about the same. I have two challenges left to work on and personal scraping so we shall see what happens. Off to get more coffee. Hope you all have and amazing Friday.
Hope you had a wonderful day of scrapping and drinking coffee!
Nothing much happening. Got my 30 Day Day 14 done and posted. Tomorrow will be posting the AJ Week 3 Challenge. I have it ready to move over to the active thread.
Oooh, I'd better work on my week three page and then the week four wrap-up! :D
Whoot whoot I made the bed today...it's been a month...Jay does not make it and I had trouble getting around with walker. Yesterday I had PT and they said I can stop the walker and use cane...I am so happy, it's so much easier.
Congrats!!!! Both things are big wins for you!
Today it's beautiful here in FL. sunny and warm 75* with very slight breeze. It's only 42* where our kids live in CT.
I got a call from oldest grandson he is so proud of his investments making money. I just love hearing him proud and happy.
I wish I lived in FL!
:highfive: to your grandson!

I remember dressing up and walking with the grandchildren when it was chilly/cold and once you are walking it wasn't too bad.
Layers are my new BFF. :brrr:
It is going to be around 50* tomorrow for the retreat but the wind is going to make it feel nasty-- Real Feels will be in the 30s. :crying1:
(It will be dry, no rain, it is allll good.....)

Off to the Gallery and then to check out Week Three AJ if it is moved.

HAGD!!!

"Momma said there'd be days like that........" You're welcome! ;)
I'm thinking bill-paying and groceries are not going to help you relax! I hope you get those "chores" done early so you can relax into scrapping!
How is Gary feeling?

HAGD!!!
I can't believe we are in our week 3 of November already!

Good Morning,
I just realized I haven't done my Day 15 of my 30 Days yet. I've been busy this morning.
We got up at 7:30 and Mark got ready to leave to pick up his stepson to spend the say with him. Without going into the details, his stepson doesn't have a job, doesn't have a car, so he is kinda stuck at his stepsister's house all day. So Mark likes to get him out of the house and spend some time with him in the woods working on "stuff" like splitting wood, etc. We will leave here around 5 to take him home and then head to my daughter's house for a Thanksgiving meal. She asked me to bring the games, so there will probably be some of that happening after supper.
That's about all I have going on today!
Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Slept in until 7:30AM!!! dance3 Could be because I read until 11PM!!! :D Will be warmer today.

OK, maybe not all 4 in one day but by the end of the weekend, perhaps? :D

What did you end up doing yesterday, AKA how many LOs did you scrap? hehehe
Yes, Chris... I finished Mockingbird then started another book - "The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece" by Tom Hanks (fiction). Liking it so far as it reads almost like a true story - and I am sure Tom Hanks used his experiences working in the movies as a basis for the book.

I got 2 LOs done yesterday... and didn't realize the kit had been released yesterday. Just got the LOs uploaded this morning. I need to check out the Art Journaling Week 3 challenge. And... ta-da... I got all but 2 loads of laundry done yesterday. Took me most of the day. That is what happens when I go almost 2 weeks before doing it. :eek2:

@LSlycord Boy.... did I end up going down the rabbit hole with the 52 Book Challenges.... been looking through my book collections to see what will work for both 2025 and 2026 and the 2025 mini challenges. Yep... have a pile of books pulled out that will go into my TBR (to be read) or ones I have read this year that will work for challenges. And really enjoying the FB group :groupchat: about books. I was so busy with the book search that I forgot to have breakfast AND lunch!!! Can't do that today... so off to fix some muffins and take something out of the freezer for supper...

Good :cold: Morning

Its officially winter. Its 9°F and man I felt it when I had to throw back the covers and get up. Bladder doesn't allow lingering under covers sometimes.

The basic vibe was *off* the entire session.
I'd better get over that ASAP -- I need to be back on my game tomorrow. I am really stressing about it all. It will be fine. I know I am overthinking it.
Awwww, I'm sorry. Its the worst feeling when the whole vibe is off. I bet the kids were what set it off. They weren't in the mindset to listen and wanted to run so you couldn't get in the groove. I bet it will be amazing tomorrow. You'll have rested and it will be a different group or at least a different mindset.
I can't believe we are in our week 3 of November already!
Shhhhh dont say that so loudly. :giggle4:
and then head to my daughter's house for a Thanksgiving meal. She asked me to bring the games, so there will probably be some of that happening after supper.
This sounds like a perfect weekend. Food, laughter, and games. Have a blast.

@BrightEyes Kay what is the 52book challenge? Is it set books or genres? Sounds interesting. I have no idea how many books I read and so this year I noticed the kindle app keeps track of days read, weeks, and how many books are finished for the year. Who knew. So I set a goal of 100 books read and boom! I hit it last week. That was totally crazy to me. Next year I might increase the goal to 125 just to see what happens but the fun one is that I have read every day for 627 days. That blew my mind. I read every night at bedtime, until I'm ready to doze off but man those days add up LOL Even with travel and surgeries I still managed to not miss a day.

Not much happened yesterday. I did wash/dry the laundry but its all still waiting to be folded and put away. Didn't scrap but better than that some friends stopped over and we talked and laughed and had a wonderful time. Today will be low key again. Numbing is wearing off more and nerves are awakening and man, the thousand needles stabbing the back of my thigh and bum is so fun (said no one ever!). Coffee is yummy and hot and demanding I drink more. Better listen :floorlaugh: wouldn't want the coffee to be mad at me. Have a wonderful day!

You have lots to be thankful for regarding your health this year, don't you!? So happy for you! The pin prickles will disappear soon! Have a wonderful weekend of relaxation! And welcome to winter! ;) :hug4:

It is book club where the goal is to read 52 books in one year. Every year, the challenge is composed of 52 different categories. Find a book that fits the category, read it, and check it off the list! They also have mini-challenges each month if you want to work on them. I sent you a DM... Linda S got me hooked on this a couple of weeks ago... since I read a lot. :floorlaugh: WOW... you read a lot of books... :bowdown3: Yes, I have to read every day.. and many times reading is my "sleeping pill"... have to read before I can fall asleep.

Thank you for the link. Yes, reading at bedtime is the best sleeping pill, unless you are at the point in the book that it becomes "one more chapter" and then poof its 1 a.m. before you know it and youre not asleep :floorlaugh: My daughter gave me grief cause I read books that average 300 pages and she chooses 800-1000 page books. So at one point, 3 months ago I added up my pages and it blew my mind. but on average I've read approx 30,000 pages this year!!!!

I do have lots to be thankful for. :heartpumppink:

I love your new siggy too!! Very pretty and feminine.

Good afternoon...or evening. Where in the world is all of my time going?!!! I need this to slow down!

We went out and test drove a couple of cars today. I think that we have made a decision. I hope we have made a decision...I need fewer things to hang over my head requiring decisions. Hopefully, we can get that all figured out Monday afternoon. I'm driving to Minneapolis on Tuesday morning to spend a few days with Sydney and I'd like to have a new (to me) car to drive.

The book has been found.... "Hiding in the Shadows" by Kay Hooper!!! :dancing6: :dancingbfly:dance3
YAY!!! Adding that to my TBR list. Which is so long that I will never get to them all. :lol23:

Brrr...Tracy. That is really cold!

This is such a rabbit hole! And I love it! (And I love To Kill A Mockingbird! One of my all time favorites. I need to re-read that!)

I can't believe we are in our week 3 of November already!
That sums up my feelings exactly!
So plans today-- start my groceries, pay some more bills, and maybe some scrapping.
What is on your list today? I hope whatever it is, you have a wonderful time!
I absolutely must do groceries tomorrow. Why does it seem that I always need groceries?!! Hope Gary is feeling better.

Good morning!! It is here!! Retreat day :)

I am about as ready as I can be. Yesterday I finished up some loose threads- wrote up some note cards for the aromatherapy workshop portion and reread the forest bathing script and invitations. I have a feeling that no one is going to care too much about what I say, we'll be shivering too hard to hear me. *gulps* The temps are going to be brutal in the afternoon, dropping like a stone into the 30s by 2 pm. Oh well, there's not a darn thing I can do about that. I've got my layers, hat, and gloves, plus my handwarmers and a heated vest are charged.

"Momma said there'd be days like that........" You're welcome! ;)
I'm thinking bill-paying and groceries are not going to help you relax! I hope you get those "chores" done early so you can relax into scrapping!
How is Gary feeling?
I did get to scrap! I got my AJ week three page done and worked on a new release for Foxeysquirrel. I'll finish my grocery order first thing tomorrow so it will be ready for pick up on Tuesday.
Gary was a little better yesterday and that is a plus!
I hope that you had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with your DD and family. I'm in denial that Thanksgiving is next week.

"The Making of Another Major Motion Picture Masterpiece" by Tom Hanks (fiction).
I didn't realize that he was a novelist too!

I appreciate you for saying that, but I think it was more of a "me" issue than a kid one LOL! Gary reminded me of the same thing a million times yesterday-- that today is going to be so much easier than Friday. Not only is it with 9 adults instead of 16 kids (age range 5-11!), but they also want to be there for a purpose. I won't struggle to get their attention like I did with the kids.

So sorry that the pins and needles are back but each day will be a little bit better *fingers crossed*

Coffee is yummy and hot and demanding I drink more. Better listen :floorlaugh: wouldn't want the coffee to be mad at me.
:rotfl:
Good afternoon...or evening. Where in the world is all of my time going?!!! I need this to slow down!
I hear ya on that!!!
Good luck with the car purchase!!

Good morning. I'm up early and ready to get some stuff done! Now what are those things??? :lol23:

I definitely need to get the bulbs in the ground this afternoon. No doubt about that one. I need to get groceries for the week and make sure that I have everything that I need for the tomorrow's cookie baking with the 5 year old, 4 year old and 3 year old. Cannot wait! And make sure that I have whatever I need to take to Sydney's. And go over the list for what I need to take on Thanksgiving and get those ingredients too.

Just know that there are a whole group of us that would love to be there today, eating up all of that knowledge that you are providing. Good luck! You will be great!!

Morning, all. 2 days in a row sleeping in... Yep... I read until after 11PM last night. Guess that is a big clue as to why I am sleeping later. Almost finished the Tom Hanks book. It is written as if it is a non-fiction book with footnotes but also includes thoughts, conversations, comic books and other unusual mixture like social and time events. I got sucked right into it and have a hard time putting it down!!! :floorlaugh:
I didn't realize that he was a novelist too!
He wrote one other book of short stories - "Uncommon Type". They all have a typewriter involved in the story. Haven't read it yet.

Today's chores include stripping the bed, rotating the mattress (instructions that came with it said to rotate it after 2 weeks then once a year after that), and re-make it: finish the other loads of laundry; organize the TBR books for the challenges and decide where to put them; and dust/mop floors. Of course, there is no guarantee that I will get it all done!!! Need to get started on them. BBL

Good Morning O Fam.
Hope you all had coffee and are relaxing a little.

Oooohhhhhh I hope you stay warm and its not that cold. For me, in the woods and cold feels colder since the sun doesn't break through as well. I bet everyone has a wonderful time thought and loves everything you have to share with them.
I'm up early and ready to get some stuff done! Now what are those things??? :lol23:
Sit back down, savor the coffee and dont try to remember what needs done :floorlaugh: Retired and weekend, no to do list needed.
Baking sounds fun thought. What are you guys gonna make? Oh that reminds me we are only a month away from Gingerbread Trains. I better start of list of the items needed.
rotating the mattress (instructions that came with it said to rotate it after 2 weeks then once a year after that),
What? Once a year rotation?? That's crazy to me. I was told once a month is best. I forget what style you went with but was thinking pillow top? Dont get hurt rotating the bed. That's always a big task.

Not much happening here. Will work on week three AJ later today. We will couch church today. Just not moving fast enough to think going to church is a good idea. Off to get more coffee and snuggle on the couch. Have a wonderful day!

A week from this Thursday is Thanksgiving! Not sure if you meant "this" this Thursday or if you were on the right track! I've been confused all month about the week of Thanksgiving! November is flying by too quickly!

Good Afternoon!
Stopping by for a few minutes before getting to the church deposit and paperwork associated with it.
Had a great time with my daughter and family last night. The meal was delicious, the games were fun, and the dessert was good, too! We left around 9.

I did get started on another monthly review set for July and hope to finish that today.

Tomorrow is a dentist appt for fillings.

It is warm and windy here this afternoon! I love watching the leaves flying around!

I still need to work on my 30 Days project for yesterday and today! I'll get that done by the end of the day.

Have a great afternoon!

Wow Ladies I do not know here the weekend went. I read the chatter and had thoughts to answer people but next thing you know I had to do something.
Well now that I am better hubby has stopped doing anything around the house. So I did laundry, vaccumed, mopped floors and of course cooked/clean up.
Walked around the pond and the block with the girls. Jay went to club to put the 5 -27 lb turkeys into the fridge to start thawing for the Thanksgiving Feast on Sunday. That will be a whole story
I put polyurethane on the live edge boards that will be shelves in the new kitchen.
We decided to have a very small Friendsgiving on the 27th so there will be 5 of us. Just a 16lb turkey and everyone will help so at least we will celebrate.
Last night granddaughter called--- her other grandmother had fallen hit her head was unconscious and when the dog was barking her husband got up to find her on the floor. When she retired she turned to wine all the time and chain smoking--COPD. Today there is positive news that she is awake and may get moved from ICU to regular room. I'm relived for them all.

@AK_Tracy Oh yes the nerves growing back...stabbed with little hot pokers and sometimes they twist them for more shooting pain!!! Glad you are doing better...every day will be better till it's just an old memory. Well it sounds like you are having AK weather now...cold today it was 75 here and sunny...such a huge difference.

Got to run I have a few things to do before TV time.

Yes, you got it! Hot pockets from heck stabbing and stabbing and then WAM they twist and go deeper. Aaaaahhhhhh such fun. Oh well, its a good sign that healing is happening so yeah. Hope youre past that point of pain in your recovery. Wish I was in FL so we could hobble together around the pond. Just a 55 degree difference between us today :floorlaugh: It warmed up here and now its snowing LOL
