Happy weekend to all the O-zies!
Today looks like it's the last day of the warmer than usual weather. That's a bummer. I was loving the 70s earlier this week. Even now it's right at 60*. But the winds are whipping and we'll be lucky to break 50* over the next few days. I am appreciative of any day I am not grumpy and cold so I got a big bonus this month.

I wish I knew what I did yesterday other than crochet/rip our stitches/crochet/rip out some more. ;) I am making a shawl for Sam and was running into trouble, Eva helped so much and got me on track. She should add Yarn Goddess to her signature.
No scrapping here. I am in that rut, no mojo again. I hope to get some done today. I wasted way too much time on Twitter. If you aren't on Twitter, Elon Musk bought it a couple of weeks ago and has no idea what he is doing. For $8 anyone can be "verified" and talk about unintended consequences! Fake accounts have been wrecking everything and some have been pretty funny. (Eli Lilly's account was spoofed and said that insulin would be now free. The real account said no it's not. The fake one pointed out that they are profiting enormously from a life-saving drug. Eli Lily's stock value tanked. As someone married to an insulin-dependent diabetic and stresses over how to pay for insulin every darn month-- you know, to keep Gary alive-- I found that freaking hysterical #devil)
Sorry. I was just enjoying a bit of schadenfreude. <~Thank goodness for spell check hahaha!!

We are going out to dinner tonight for my dad's birthday. Meeting up with my brother and his fam at our usual restaurant, always yummy. Scott was able to go to work at 7 so he can get out early enough to come with us. I made peanut butter muddy buddies as a gift for my dad and made enough to keep some here too. mmm mmmmmm

xoxo to you all!

@LSlycord how did you do with your goals yesterday? I am going to need to get some deep cleaning done before Thanksgiving which is going to be here before we know it! Yikes! I wish we had an Aldi up here. There is one closer to my mom's and they seem to have good prices.
heh, I guess it was a good day- with both kids here and my parents in good moods with each other. *fingers crossed that they are like that tonight too*
I would love to be part of your trip to Merritt Island with Rae ♥

@vickyday My kids will tell me how hard "adulting" is-- I tell them just wait! They still live at home. It only gets "better" out there *waves arms around* ;)
I strongly dislike grocery shopping. My mom feels the same way about food, she is so limited in what she can eat- low sodium, low potassium, plus no gout triggers. It's really difficult and I know it is a reason why she gets unhappy.
Keep up with your gratitude, you are doing amazing! yay!

@bcgal00 *faints* 21*F!! Too cold for November! OMG, a parka -- a pink parka for Remi!? And another tartan for Taz? They are the best-dressed dogs. I wish I could pet them. I am currently annoyed at mine, they were awful bed hogs last night. But I love 'em anyway.

@Cherylndesigns Oh man, that is the last thing you need to have your computer acting up on you. I really hope that Brandon is able to get it worked out.
Poor Steph! I hope that the pain eases up. I totally understand *why* the Drs don't want to prescribe pain meds but at the same time, if she is in that much pain, it can't be good either. :(
Did you get any pics of Asher from the dance?
Rae is spot on, vent here if it helps

Good morning. Ok, at 3:30 this morning, I realized how close we are to Thanksgiving and just about panicked. Now, keep in mind that I have always worked around Thanksgiving but won't be working this year. And, I am always able to get things done...so I should be able to do much better. BUT, here I am...in a total tizzy (and btw, I have no idea where the word tizzy came from...maybe my great grandmother  )

Anyway, I'm making lists like crazy now. I think because Syd is coming home and bringing her roommate, it just feels very different than what I'm used to. I did get my eggs for $2.99 a dozen yesterday, so I'm pretty excited about that. (Again, who is this woman who is inhabiting my body?) Picked up butter and sugar and flour...Shaun is nagging about me getting started on some Christmas cookies. And it seems like that would be a good idea. The key is to make enough that we still have some for Christmas.

My house is a disaster and I really need to do some deep cleaning. With house guests coming, I need to get this place looking better.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Ok...just re-read yesterday's post. "Also need to get some deep cleaning done here before I start Christmas decorating. I need some more lists going." Seriously, going to try to stop talking about my lists and deep cleaning. LOL I think that I'm going a bit crazy.

@faerywings it will be fun to meet up with the family for your dad's birthday dinner. I know that your folks will be so glad that Scott is able to be there. Having all of their grandkids there will be a real treat. And I sure wish that you and Rae and I could all take a trip to Merritt Island. Wouldn't we have fun?

@vickyday love that you are still so faithfully doing that gratitude challenge. Hope that the grocery shopping wasn't too stressful!

@bcgal00 I love your dream about no memory card! That is so funny the things that we dream!

@Cherylndesigns sorry that Steph is in so much pain! Hope you had a fun night with Asher and that Brandon was able to get your laptop squared away. I totally hear you about how upsetting that is!

Brrrrrr!!! It was 22*F when I crawled out of bed at 6AM.... No snow but have cloudy skies. I took a PJ day yesterday and read most of the day. Waiting for the house to warm up before getting a shower and dressed. Then get the laundry sorted and done. Talked to DSis yesterday. She will be coming over a week from Monday and spend most of Thanksgiving week with me. Need to find the down comforter for the guest room as it will be needed while she is here. Will be at the base on Tuesday to pick up Rx refill. And, like several of the gals, I need to make a list of groceries/etc that I need to buy for the holiday.

Good morning ladies. Had a decent sleep and got up at 6. Remi was happy to go outside and find one of her "outside" toys lying in the snow. I think Bella probably played with it late last night and Jen didn't want to go out into the snow to retrieve it, so left it for one of the dogs to find. We have a small basket with 4 rubber toys in it and they are the "outside" toys. They don't come in the house and the toys indoors don't go outside.

Today I have a few errands to run, will scrap a bit and Remi needs to go to the dog park to work off some energy today. I could tell yesterday that she was a bit antsy. Temps are warmer, high close to 30 for the next week. No snow this week but the following week we'll get a few inches. The snow stays a long time here b/c it's too cold to melt it. It keeps everything looking pretty. I love it. i noted the drivers here are more savvy than in Vancouver. They know to slow down a bit, take the curves and hills more carefully and not drive too close to each other. Plus the city workers seem better equipped to clear the roads. So far, its been ok.

Another quiet day here.

@faerywings Enjoy the family birthday dinner. I'll get a pic of Remi in her pink camo coat soon. It's so cute.

Remi is whining at the door, she just finished breakfast, so I'd better go. HAGD everyone.

Good evening, my friends. Well, the good news is that Steph is a LITTLE bit better today. They let her get up and the PT guy, Asher and I walked her to the end of the hall and back. That was huge! She let us take her braids out and try to make her hair a little more presentable - that's a wonderful sign when you start caring about how you look. The BEST sign that better days are coming. Her pain level is better today, and she's unhooked from all the machines - a great sign.

Asher and i had so much fun last night and I haven't gotten any pictures from the dance - I guess Brandon's wife took one right before he went in, so I'm going to ask her for that. I didn't have the heart to ask him to fool with my laptop last night, but I will. if I don't, Braden can fix it when i get home. Asher got to sleep with me again - I know that might sound silly for an eleven-year-old to be sleeping with me, but it made his heart happy. We stayed up late and both collapsed into bed and didn't wake up until about 10 this morning. I was going to take him out to breakfast, but he didn't want to go - he ate here, and we went to get sandwiches at Starbuck's at the hospital - how convenient, huh? They have the best waffle, cheese, ham and built-in syrup - SO yummy that I got myself another one for my dinner on the way out. Asher didn't want another one.

I was just beside myself last night - just about ready to throw my hands up and wave that white flag. Believe it or now, my 11-year-old grandson did a lot to help me fix it - apparently, he's inherited his dad's geekiness. That's my hospital brain report for today - I miss all of you@

XOXO

BRRRRRR!!!! is right, Kay! 22 degrees is COLD! Don't blame you for waiting until the house warms up before getting ready! And, I don't know what I was thinking, but YIKES to Thanksgiving being less than 2 weeks away! The year will be over before we know it! Hope you are doing better!

Ooh boy, I am late and lazy this morning. It's almost 8 am and just getting around to finishing my 2nd mug of coffee. But it isn't like I need to be anywhere today. Just gonna putter around the house a bit, and get ready for the upcoming week.
Cait and I finished the puzzle yesterday, 2000 pieces and we did it in a week. And darn it, we somehow lost 2 pieces. We try to be super careful because W thinks they make for yummy treats. mmmph. :/

Dinner was really nice and fun. Christopher played piano at a Veterans' Day/Memorial Service for a Four Star General who passed away a year ago. He played each Military Branch's song and the vets from that branch stood up for applause. He also got a Challenge Coin from the Brigadier General of Picatinny Arsenal which is just a few miles away from where they live. I am def. stealing the pics from SIL's FB to scrap them. Pretty cool!!

It's a rainy, dreary day so a good day to scrap

Have fun!! xoxoxo

@LSlycord Linda, T-Day is really coming up quickly. I am about $1 away from qualifying for the free turkey (fake turk'y roast for me) and I thought-- no worries, plenty of time. But I have to qualify this week so I can order it and pick it up the following week- which is Thanksgiving week! GAHHHHH!!!

Nope, we are not allowed to freak out, Linda, we got this. *firm nod* BTW- I always use tizzy, it's such a perfect word LOL
Good score on the eggs! I am going to have to clean out my freezer soon so I can get the cookies in there. Right now there is so much stuff shoved in it I don't know what is even in there.
Seems like we are on the same wavelengths. Not sure if that's a good thing...... ;)
If I ever won a million dollars, one thing I would do would be to host an Oscraps convention. We would have so much fun!

@BrightEyes That's wonderful news that your sister is coming to visit! Stay warm!!

@bcgal00 I can see Remii running through the snow and then sticking her nose in all the way to get the toy. ♥ I bet she is tooooo cute in her parka!
That helps a lot that you are in an area that knows how to drive in the snow. And keeps the roads clear.

@Cherylndesigns That is good news that Steph is a little better, I hope each day gets easier for her. She will be more comfortable just not being connected to the machines, all of the wires and noises. Boo.
Keep telling her we are all sending our love!
Asher must be such a joy for you and seems like you are to him. Cici Magic. ♥

@vickyday Hope you are all doing well!

Good morning ladies. I woke up at 6:30 but was so tired that I couldn't drag myself from bed. The dogs got up with Brian and then came back upstairs so I let them back in the bedroom and we all snuggled together for another hour.

The weather has changed. It is 65* this morning and the expected high is 66*. The forecast has one day of 80* this week and everything else is 50's and 70's. Lots of rain predicted. But my prediction is that we have reached the end of the air conditioner until next April. Fingers crossed. I am hoping to be headed into the low cost season for electricity!

I made my list for deep cleaning. Today is refrigerators and oven. The good news is that Brian is always willing to help. So hopefully we will be able to check that off today.

@faerywings we are on the same wave length for sure. (And no, probably not a good thing...we will scare everyone else away from our Daily O's.) Cleaning out the freezer...that really needs to be on the list! But I don't think I will take it on today! Can't wait to see the layout with Christopher...that is so cool! How old is he now? Because it seems like just yesterday that he was a baby!

@BrightEyes what good news that your sister is coming to spend time with you! Aren't you two going to have the best time together?!! I hope the weather warms up just a bit for you.

@vickyday the internet is good for ideas! And if that helps remind us of things to be grateful for, well good use of the internet in my opinion!

@bcgal00 the dogs and their outdoor toys made me laugh! I've been doing some research on how to keep the bird area cleaner to prevent the river rats. I'm going to stop in at the local Wildbird store and talk to them. And love the fact that the people in your area actually have the good sense to drive appropriately.

@Cherylndesigns so glad to hear that Steph is doing so much better! And love that Asher was able to help you a bit with the computer woes. LOL Kids have such a different approach to technology than we do! When do they expect her to be released from the hospital? So glad that you are down there with her. How many times do you FaceTime with the OK gang? I bet often! LOL

Ok...off to clean my ovens.

Anywho.....gonna see about getting some yarn today for a project I have in mind. I'll be back later today to do some personals.
We are all good.....Mark has a cold and I feel like I might be trying to get it! @faerywings

LOL at the schadenfreude @faerywings ... so true! ;-)

Funny to hear of snow on the way @bcgal00 . It's getting hot here (finally!)

Glad to hear Steph is better @Cherylndesigns xx

M (20) moved out yesterday into her student apartment. It went very smoothly, and she immediately set about organising all her stuff and setting her room up just as she liked it. She's definitely my daughter! :) I can't quite believe she has gone. She was the most joyful child ever (and still is so much fun to have around). Was a bit hard after she had gone and I had to do the final clean out before painting her room this coming week, seeing it an empty shell  (it's a self-contained studio with it's own entrance so once we know she's OK we'll be renting it out to cover her student accomodation costs, so no leaving her bedroom as is and pretending she's just gone away for a week or so!). Already looking forward to setting up a room for her for visits when we hopefully move cities in a few months!!

Good morning ladies. The sun is shining and its 20 but going up to 30 today and will be like this for the next week. The car is filthy and will need to go thru the car wash soon to wash away the dirt from the roads. I was at the mall yesterday, lots was on sale and I stocked up on sweaters and vests. I took pics of a jacket and a boxy sweater that I like at Marshalls to give him an idea of Xmas gifts. I also want a new keyboard for my ipad (my old one works but the period key doesn't).

Today I'm getting groceries (didn't go yesterday), making muffins and going to the dog park. Might get some scrapping done too.

We've been watching season 2 of The Cleaning Lady. We'll binge the next 3 episodes and be caught up until the next few air that'll finish off the season.

I'm reading The Perfect Couple which has been interesting. I hope I finish it before my loan is due back at the digi library. I have been really bad about reading since we moved, I've only managed to finish a few books. I just don't seem to find the time to read much. Retirement is so much busier than I ever thought it would be, but in a good way :)

Remi is whining at me, time to let her out, then time for a shower and get on with my day. HAGD everyone.

Good evening. Good news - Steph MIGHT get to come home tomorrow!!! Asher and I went to visit her and she walked SO far today! He told her she was the "Walking Queen". He's SO funny She could have probably walked father, but he reminded her that she had to walk all the way back.

Chris @faerywings I gave her all of your love and she feels like she knows all of you. Asher and I have had so much run being together - he's such a little man. He even directs me when I'm driving. I haven't been here since they moved the last time, so I wasn't familiar with this area. He told me to just listen to him, not the navigator and he'd take me on the shortcuts. It totally worked and we high fived in the car. He cracks me up.

I couldn't believe that he just sat down and started poking on my laptop and said, "there you go". Linda @LSlycord you're right - kids are fearless. It's the way they've been raised around computers.

Brandon (his dad) just picked him up so he could stay there for the next few days because he has to go to school. Before he left, I asked Brandon if he had a minute to look at my laptop and he finished fixing it. Those guys are wizards - I told him that Asher inherited his computer skills. We're playing it by ear as to when he'll be back. I know he'll be spending next weekend for sure, but I'm not sure what this next week will be like, if Steph comes home. I'm sure Brandon will bring him over, though. They don't want me to have to deal with taking him to school and waiting in the car line. They're really cooperating with me and trying to help me out.

That's my daily update. I miss you all so much.

Thanks so much, Vicky!! Yes, Praise the Lord is right!!! Asher IS a jewel! He's such a joy and SO mature - people always seem shocked that he's only 11. The whole time we walked with Steph today, he had his little hand on her back. It was so sweet.

Brandon and his wife have been so helpful to me - they've been over here twice already and are willing to help in any way they can - besides welcoming me into their home for one night (the night we thought the hurricane was going to hit). It takes a village.
