Happy Labor Day to those in the USA. Many thanks to the labor unions way back when who helped bring about labor safety laws, a 40 hour work week, and child labor laws.

You know how I said that I had been feeling pretty good? Who wants to guess what I did yesterday?
Too much! hahahah!!

My kitchen is really small, so I wanted to organize one of the bottom cabinets better, so I did that. It took me a long time to clean up the Wilton Mess, all of those decorating tips! Then I pulled out everything in my closet that might have gotten leaked on, checked over them, vacuumed my closet, and then steam cleaned where the food coloring had leaked onto the rug. I was using the spot cleaner, and while I was waiting for the cleaning cycles to run, I packed up some of the stuff to give to my mom who is doing a garage sale this weekend.
And I still feel like I haven't gotten enough done.

Today is food shopping prep, ugh!!!!! And Tindmax aka abx from Hell. Double UGH!!!!!

Claire- oh your flowers sound divine! And your garden center-- I would love to go there to wander about.

I cannot imagine the joy you must feel for both situations.
And rain! Yay for rain. We are bone dry here, I haven't driven past the Reservoir lately but I bet if I did, I would be able to see the roads underneath.

This whole area of my W Milford, Ringwood, Wanaque was all iron mining-- villages all surround the Iron Furnaces. They flooded the majority of the area to create the reservoir. When the levels drop, you can see some of the roads underneath. It is cool to see but scary at the same time.

Trudy- so happy you have rain too! Great advice for your SIL- to just enjoy them and clean later. Very funny how just the grands tired here out after only a few days! LOL
I would take bears over Aussie snakes and spiders any day! At least you can say how cute the bear is as it is mauling you! (JK, our bears are pretty mellow!)

I shared a bit about my crazy town, with the reservoir. What neat tidbit do you want to share about the area you live it, something unknown or maybe you are famous for something.
One other thing we are "famous" for, at least in NJ, is Clinton Road, one of the most "haunted" areas in NJ. We have driven on this road and yes, it is creepy. No lights, very narrow and winding. But we have never seen any of the spirits that are supposedly around it. Not that I don't believe that they are there, who knows? :noidea:

Chris glad you had such a productive spurt of energy. Hope the Tindmax somehow isn't as bad as you expect. :\

Damp, gray day again. Ready for more sun, but glad to have been able to stay in bed this morning instead of running off to the pool.

A friend baked some awesome bread, and sent me the recipe....so easy...no kneading! But it requires a dutch oven that will take a 425* oven. The only one I have that will do that is way too big. So I'm on the hunt for an inexpensive 4.5 to 6 quart cast iron dutch oven with a lid. Here's the recipe if you're interested. My town:
1. The Boeing 747 assembly facility. The Renton airport it is next to, was the airport from which Wiley Post and Will Rogers departed on their ill-fated flight to Alaska, where the plane crashed near Barrow.

2. A library that straddles a river.

3. Jimmy Hendricks' grave/memorial (same cemetery where my DGD is)...just 3 miles from our house).

Good morning just a quick hello. We are heading into Zion for the day. Had breakfast delivered right to our room in the cutest picnic basket. So yummy. Having a great time with my sister. Hope all is well with everyone. Got to run an catch shuttle

I think I might be feeling a bit better but today is going to get even hotter. Just trying to get past Wednesday when the weather should be lovely again. Saturday for a couple hours of A/C we went to see a movie in the late afternoon, saw "Mr. Holmes" and enjoyed it. The small theater it was in was packed. We usually get to a movie theater about once a year, but pretty sure we missed last year. Usually bring DVDs home from the library. Tonight we're going out for dinner and to watch the Ohio State game.

Claire, how lovely are the flower baskets! Look like a really nice idea.

Chris, hope you can enjoy yesterday's accomplishments and not get too beat up by the Tindamax. Interesting story about the lake. I know man-made lakes had things under them, but don't know I've ever seen any evidence like those roads.

Sharron, like the sound of sleeping in though I'm sure you miss the swimming. A library over a river sounds pretty interesting!

Nancy, your morning's start in Zion sounds fantastic. Would envy you except I'm sure it's hot. I know you'll have a great time and have fabulous photos.

Sorry I didn't get to this on the day, Mondays are always a bit of a computer free day. Robbie is at centre for the day and David is on a day off so it is the only six hours we get a week when we can do just the two of us things which range from appointments travel up to see my mum or as we did yesterday have a day out. We went to the local arboreteum which was gorgeous project life layout to follow.
Thanks for all the lovely comments about the flowers they look gorgeous this morning after last night's rain.
