Daily Ooos: Monday, September 6: Labor Day Edition

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I hope that everyone in the US is enjoying a day off if they do have one. Scott is on his way to work in a few, it is just another day for the parks to be open. Gorgeous weather today at least.

My head is still spinny but a little less than it has been. As long as I don't think of that empty suitcase over there *points to dining room*
I am getting there, started to throw a few more things into the basket for me to pack. But done? not even a tiny bit.
My mom cracks me up, she told me that if I needed anything else to run to TJ MAXX and put whatever I needed on her credit card. I have no idea if I need anything so she told me to order pizzas for dinner on her. THAT I was able to do!

Today I *must* finish packing, and then I want to do a bit of yard work to balance me out. Cait and Tom are bringing some flowers to the site later and I want to go with them if they don't mind. And that's about it. I am so glad that I was able to clean for my friend last week - I offered either Friday or today and I went on Fri. Whew. I can't imagine trying to clean someone else's house today.

xoxoxo!

@tanteva I am so s sorry, I missed that it was Urban's birthday yesterday! Did you guys do anything special? I hear you about Virgos- Leah and Cait are that too. LOL

@Cherylndesigns That is really fun to surprise Ava like that! Seems like there was a lot of laughter- and photos for you to steal. That stinks that the photo book didn't get there in time but this way she will have the opportunity to enjoy it on her own.
That is so funny about her not waiting until Cici got there when she was born. I have a similar theory with my two. Neither labor long in the traditional sense. But Scott did not want to be born once it was time. (I pushed for 4 hours before they were able to suck him out, I almost ended up with a C section). He is a stubborn Taurus/Gemini who overthinks everything. Caitlyn- OTOH, flew out. (Almost) literally. DR says to me, push hard, I won't let you tear. I promise. Ha. There was no stopping Caitlyn once she got going! ROTFLMAO.
(I can do that now. 23 years ago- I could mostly definitely *not.* )

Thank you all so much for the support and good thoughts. Hugs!!

We don't really celebrate birthdays here ... Surprised? LOL (We're all year around Scrooges here ... everything's hum bug!) Only thing we do is that the one who has birthday gets to decide dinner. I almost regretted that the day before yesterday when Urban told me what he wanted. He wanted parathas. Here's a recipe:

I made it with vegan mince of course. He's had this dream about paratha since the 90s. It was a special on the menu at the local Indian restaurant where he used to hang. (Not so much for the food, but for the cheap beer & in Sweden restaurants can't serve alcoholic beverages unless you order food, and paratha was the cheapest thing on the menu LOL)

Anyway, he's been talking about this since then, and I've always thought it was hard to do and ducked the request. But I had said he could choose anything he wanted, so .... Then it turned out it was so simple. LOL The trick was to make them small, and then they were so easy to handle. Now I'm thinking I should do this whenever I have some leftovers. You could stuff these with anything, I feel. I'm gonna make him regret he ever brought them up again. LOL

I made a yoghurt dip (with garlic & coriander) to it, and served with some veggies. It doesn't look like much, but it was delicious!

And @faerywings - here you go: https://www.tosomeplacenew.com/what-to-pack-for-a-weekend-away-packing-list/

Morning, all. It was nice and cool when I got up so had the house opened up with a cool breeze blowing through for 3 hours. Just closed it back up as it is going to be HOT... in the 90's... today and for the rest of the week! The smoke will be back also.
I vegged most of the weekend reading and watching DVD movies. I did take an hour to finish the DVD inventory and get it printed out. Put it and the VHS tapes handwritten inventory into a binder. I can take it with me when I go looking for DVD movies. :D I watched "The King's Speech" last evening... really enjoyed it.

Hope to scrap a page for a challenge today or tomorrow. Beginning to feel like sitting long enough to do that... hooray! Will slowly work back up to a normal routine soon.

When I looked out early this morning, had several hot air balloons sailing across my neighborhood. Didn't have my camera handy so didn't get any photos. Nice to see them on the holiday... as they used to do before Covid. Not sure if the International Balloon Festival will happen in Oct... as that is always a big deal here.

Eva, all of that looks yummy!!! Thanks for posting the link to the recipe.

Chris, I understand your feelings waffling back and forth and not being able to concentrate on getting things done for the trip. <<< hugs >>> Hope you can go with the kids to place flowers in memory of the young man.

Cheryl, glad the family got to surprise Ava for her birthday. Sorry the photo book didn't arrive in time.

Time to get showered and dressed. CYL

Afternoon all.

Chris, sounds like you're keeping busy and how awesome for your mom to tell you to go get what you need.

Cait sounds like Ava more and more - Ava flew out, too! She couldn't wait to burst into this world and she's been taking it by storm ever since. I HOPE her book comes tomorrow. In her usual "spirit" she said "Oh, that's okay, Cici - we'll look at it together when it comes." She's SO amazing. She bought me a little cowboy skeleton, but she keeps forgetting to bring it to me. I do have a picture. LOL

He even has a little holster on. I can't wait to get him.

Kay, sorry about the smoke (still). At least you got to open up your house for a little while today. That sounds wonderful and I can't wait. You've been busy again with your DVD library - BTW "The King's Speech" is awesome!!! We absolutely loved it!!

Eva @tanteva your food pics look good. I'm hungry now.

Chris @faerywings I've forgotten when you're leaving. DUH.

Talk later.
