GoooooOd morning O-zies!
I am very happy this morning. I survived the party which was nice, even if expected. But even better, it made me happy to have everyone here. Sooo, so happy. The only people who were able to make it were my nephew (goes to Pitt - 8 hours away, so gets a pass) and my niece (working 12 hours days and it was her only day off - also gets a pass). My niece who is at school 2 hours away-- she drove up here just for the party. I thought she was home for the weekend, but nope- she just wanted to be with us. She brought one of her friends and she seemed really nice- she is a zoological science major- how neat is that?
Tom seemed like he was having a good time and I asked him how it was going and he thinks that my family is one of the most welcoming that he had ever met. To top it off, Sam and Ian did show up. She had requested that no one say anything so I had emailed my fam to not ask her how she was or say they were sorry. She needed few hours to not think about it. She texted us all later on to say thank you for letting her have some time of normalcy. I am happy that I was able to give her that.

Right now, the house is pretty quiet, the kids are sleeping, Caitlyn doesn't have any morning meetings and I bet that she is happy about that. I have some dishes that need to be hand-washed, and the dishwasher needs to be run. I also must catch up on some stuff that I put off last week since I was busy with the house/food.

Thank you for listening to me stress over something that didn't need to be stressed over!
Have a fab day!

@tanteva It is no wonder that you are stressed. It has been such a bonkers few weeks for you. Now that you finally have some time to breathe, of course, it is gonna catch up with you. You know this too- you are dispacing your stress on something like not scrapping those LOs- and that is normal. So damn easy to get that stress snowball rolling until it is an avalanche. Would you be shocked to hear I do that too??? *wink*
I hope that today you are doing better and that being home alone with the kitties is peaceful. Sounds like you are doing all of the right things to get back on track- IMHO, you only need to be patient with yourself. That is the hard part.<3

@taxed4ever That was good timing with the yard work and weather, bet everything looks spruced up for the fall/winter. I have to keep working on that, my tomato plants still have some green tomatoes so I can't bring myself to rip them out just yet.
I didn't think it was possible to improve the saw, I thought it was perfect but the clouds look fab! I didn't get to put my feet
up but it didn't matter, it made me freaking happy and soul-satisfied (not really a word but YKWIM!) to have the family here.

@felis you are so cute, fangirling is ok at any age! I haven't seen that show but it has to be helpful for people of all ages, but esp younger ones to have topics portrayed that might be uncomfortable but real. There is an uproar in my local Facebook group about a book where a young man remembers a possible incident of abuse and it affects his perception of his sexuality and they want it banned. (Disclaimer: I have not read the book so I cannot say how graphic it is or how the topics are handled). But the way I feel, it sounds like it is a book that should be available to young adult readers since that *is* something that tragically happens and can help them to not feel so alone. Seems like the topics of the show do the same.
We tried our best to make everyone feel comfortable and safe at the party- everyone other than my nephew (too young) was vax'd. Scott and Leah both got tested since they were at the music festival. Just about everyone here is high-risk We had three people with Type 1 diabetes and 1 with Type 2. A couple with auto-immune disease/disorders. 5 people over 60. So yup, we were very careful. :D

@Cherylndesigns I have to take a picture of Braxton to share with you- Scott started getting him dressed as a pirate and Cait and Tom finished it off. He looked fantastic! He is even holding a pirate b-day balloon.
Everything did work out, I don't think I forgot anything, Everyone seemed to like the fake vegan turkey. and my brother even brought up some extra vegan "cheese" and dips.

BTW: My brother got a PT job at his favorite store in the world- Trader Joe's. (Seriously, the guy cannot live without TJ ;) I will be hitting him up for vegan food and his discount - for sure!

While I am bummed for you that you didn't go to the wedding, it 100% sounds like the right decision, you and Chuck would have been miserable. I had a dream the other night that my FIL took the entire family on vacation and when we got to the "resort" we were brought to an auditorium-like room and that is where we were supposed to sleep. And there were public restrooms for showers. I had to tell him that because there is NO WAY in hell he would ever, ever do that!!

@nancyr Men!!! They can be so intelligent, and at the same time- dumb as a bag of rocks hahahaha Glad that you were finally able to get a walk in with Luther, the weather was beautiful for that. Dinner sounds really delish!
I hope that you are able to go to games but I understand why you need more info. Did you get Pfizer? I got an email from the NJ Dept of Health announcing that if you got that one and were eligible for boosters that you could make appts now.
Thanks for the info on the allergies. The vet thinks the allergies are very mild so to start with OTC and if that doesn't help she said we could try that apoquel.
I Googled "Does benedryl make a dog sleepy?" the other day and the results were awful and *not* what I was looking for. 0/10 Do NOT recommend.
I think I might try the zyrtec - that is what Caitlyn takes so we have plenty on hand

HAGD!

Been taking it easy today. Went to the pharmacy to get the meds for Mårten (& me and hubby while I was there). Weather is cold, dull and grey. Fall can be so beautiful, but it sure can be UGLY as &#%# too.

Went to the grocery store as well to get some ground beef for John (me & Urban have soy mince in the freezer). Making REAL comfort food today. Spaghetti-kinda-not-really-Bolognese. I'm making the sauce by frying up the mince/ground beef (and oinion for me and Urban), spice it a bit & then pour on some cream and chili sauce (the Heinz-ketchupy-type). That sauce with a MOUNTAIN of spaghetti - nothing gets me feel better. Not even chocolate LOL (Though I did get myself some chocolate and potato crisps as well at the store LOL). I'm a pasta girl!

Other than that I've been keeping my eyes on Mårten & given him his meds (he seems to be recovering just fine so far). Scrapped a bit - I have to say ... the Fab Friday this month is fricking awesome!!! Also, I've been crocheting - making a cover for our new tablet. Watched 2 episodes of Downton Abbey, and I'll think I'll have time for another one before I have to start preparing dinner.

Not sure if I mentioned before, but I should have been working today. In a way, I'm happy we decided that Urban took the shift for me so I could stay at home to fix Mårten's meds. Just as much as I needed to do that, I really needed to be home and relax today.

And ....

Morning, gals. I know Oct is just around the corner... woke up to cool (mid-50's) this morning and lots of hot air balloons in the sky. The Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival doesn't start until this Sat but the commercial Balloon Rides are in full swing now. So nice to have the house opened up with a nice cool breeze blowing the stale air out of the house. I spent part of yesterday shuffling things around in the office. Got the boxes of files moved out into the garage (1 at a time - Mama Chris - I hear your scolding voice... hahaha). That opened up a space by the doors to move the tall plastic file drawers off the top of 1 of the file cabinets. Brought my Victrola music player in from the craft room and put it there. That opened up access to the blinds and made the area look larger. Love having my Victrola player (CD, cassette, record player and radio) near by so I can listen to my music whenever I want. Think that is about the last of the changes I needed to make in the Office.

Chris, knew the family gathering would go fine... sounds like everyone had a great time. Look forward to seeing some photos of the decorations, etc. Your family was so thoughtful to give Sam and Ian a bit of 'normalcy' during a trying time.

Trudy, glad you and hubby managed to get the yard work done before the weather turned. Bet it looks 100% better and you can relax and enjoy the change of weather now.

Eva, so sorry that you were so stressed. Hope that things will calm down for you soon. << hugs >>

No scrapping today... the neck and shoulders are sore so will be giving them a rest for a day or two. Got to be in shape for iDSD.... hahahaha....

OHMYGOSH Chris @faerywings I'm so glad I didn't have a mouth full of coffee - I would have chucked it all over my screen!!! That restroom dream - that's the funniest thing I've ever read!!! From what we heard today, we're SO glad we didn't go-it was like a "weird wedding". I guess there was no "protocol" - people from different families weren't introduced to the other families - SO bizarre. I'm SUPER glad we didn't go. Adrienne came down and "vented". It totally reminded me of the last "extended family" wedding we went to - what's wrong with people anyway?????

I'm SO happy that your party went off without a hitch - I knew that it would. That's so awesome about what Tom thought of your family. I LOVE it.

Eva @tanteva give Marten a gentle hug from me.

Kay @BrightEyes one of my life dreams has been to be at that balloon festival. It probably won't ever happen now. I've even wanted to go up in a hot air balloon since I can ever remember. Your room looks awesome BTW.

Waving to all and sending hugs.

Felis @felis Hope you're well, sweetie. I love seeing your smiling face on IG.
oh, you're so sweet thank you. I'll post Story with Florian todays. I don't think you saw me with Liam at friday? Love how Sam and Daisy snuggle together!
@felis felis I am not sure I could watch that that show with out covering my eyes LOL. I find it easier to read that than watch it. I am so old. But so fun when you do find a show you can watch. Enjoy!
that's surprise me as with "Riverdale" and ''13 Reasons Why'' on your shortlist I thought you will like it a lot.

Sorry, girls! No post from me today as I'm so freaking tired. Just came back from work meeting and now Expecting one delivery and then will go to sleep for the rest of the month! At least!!! :p
